Title
Shooting & Robbery suspects flee Little Rock and Arkansas State Police in Buick Encore #pursuit
Description
On Sunday, August 2, 2026, at approximately 4:25 a.m., I was advised by Troop A Communications that the Little Rock Police Department (LRPD) was in pursuit of a white Buick Encore that had previously been broadcast in connection with a shooting and aggravated robbery investigation. The pursuit was traveling eastbound on Interstate 30 near the 135-mile marker. As the pursuit continued eastbound near the Roosevelt Road exit, I assumed the secondary unit position. The suspect vehicle exited at Roosevelt Road before re-entering Interstate 30 East. As the suspect vehicle merged back onto the interstate, I assumed the primary unit position while LRPD transitioned into a support role. I immediately moved to the driver's side of the suspect vehicle in preparation for a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI). Before the maneuver could be executed, the suspect vehicle applied heavy braking, left the roadway to the right, traveled down a steep embankment, and continued onto East 17th Street. The suspect continued fleeing until reaching the intersection of East 18th Street and Commerce Street, where the vehicle came to an abrupt stop. The driver immediately exited the vehicle and fled on foot. I advised Troop A Communications that the driver had fled on foot and began establishing a perimeter to assist with locating the suspect. I then conducted a high-risk stop on the three remaining occupants of the vehicle and took them into custody without incident. Little Rock Police Department officers arrived on scene and assumed responsibility for the suspect vehicle as part of their ongoing criminal investigation. The front-seat passenger and registered owner of the vehicle was Ms. Karlei McCree. One rear-seat passenger was Mr. Morris Worsham. Responsibility for locating the fleeing driver was transferred to the Little Rock Police Department. I transported Ms. McCree to meet with officers from the Bryant Police Department. Little Rock Police Department officers transported Mr. Worsham to meet with officers from the Conway Police Department. The remaining passenger, Mr. Marlon Marbley, was released from the scene without incident.
