Title
Entitled Brother Thinks He Can Shoot Family As Payback And Walk Away Free
Description
Watch this police interrogation with intense raw interrogation from the interrogation room as police conduct a full interrogation of a suspect. This raw interrogation footage captures every moment of the suspect interview, complete with deception detection techniques, and criminal psychology in true JCS style interrogation.
The Background
Defendant: Gerardo Jimenez-Rico (age 32 at the time of the offense; reported as 33 at sentencing).
Deceased victim: Jocelyn Jimenez, 22, defendant’s younger sister.
Other victims: Defendant’s father (reported age 56) and mother (reported age 54), both of whom survived gunshot wounds.
Relationships: Nuclear family members living in the same Milwaukee residence. Defendant resided in the basement bedroom.
Motive (per defendant’s statements to police, as recorded in the criminal complaint/affidavit): On the evening of the shooting, the family had just returned from a month-long trip to Mexico (defendant did not go, stating he lacked money). An argument began over dirty dishes and a clogged sink. Defendant’s father told him he needed to find another place to live. Defendant stated that family members regularly “gang[ed] up on him” or “bull[ied]” him because he was unemployed, that this had gone on for years, and that he “just got fed up.”
The Crime
Date/time/location: January 22, 2025, approximately 6:45 p.m., family residence in the 4000 block of West Cheyenne Street (near 40th and Cheyenne), Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Sequence (per defendant’s statements and physical evidence): Defendant had a handgun in the waistband of his pants. He fired at his father (multiple shots). He then shot his sister, stating she had armed herself with a knife and that he shot her “to prevent getting stabbed.” An autopsy showed she suffered four gunshot wounds (lungs, chest, back, and arm) and was pronounced dead at the scene. He then shot his mother as she entered the room; he told police he did not intend to shoot her and could not explain why he did. The mother was found lying on top of her daughter in a protective manner.
Other persons present: A 3-year-old and a cognitively delayed adult were inside the home; both were unharmed. No verified evidence of advance planning beyond the escalating argument or of post-offense evidence tampering.
The Investigation
Immediate identification: The injured mother told responding officers that her son Gerardo had shot them.
Suspect behavior: The same evening, Jimenez-Rico walked into Milwaukee Police District 1 station, stated he had “a confession to give” / “shot someone,” and gave a detailed account matching the events above.
Key evidence: Ballistics and medical evidence consistent with the shootings; defendant’s voluntary confession; mother’s identification. No verified digital evidence or major inconsistencies in the defendant’s account were reported in the charging documents or sentencing coverage.
Conviction and Sentencing
Original charges: First-degree intentional homicide (sister) and two counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide (parents), each with domestic-abuse and use-of-a-dangerous-weapon modifiers. Cash bond set at $1 million.
Plea: May 20, 2025 — guilty to first-degree reckless homicide, attempted second-degree intentional homicide, and first-degree reckless injury.
Sentencing: June 24, 2025, Milwaukee County Circuit Court. Aggregate sentence of 35 years of initial confinement in state prison plus 19 years of extended supervision (concurrent/consecutive structure across the three counts produces these totals).
