Title
Suspect w/ FELONY WARRANTS flees Little Rock & Arkansas State Police - He jumps from moving Tahoe
Description
Trooper's Report:
On Monday 1/19/2026, at approximately 12:34 AM, Little Rock Police Department become involved in a vehicle pursuit while
attempting to arrest a suspect with felony warrants and requested assistance from the Arkansas State Police. At the time of the
request, the pursuit was in the area of Asher and Fair Park. The vehicle was a black Chevy Tahoe with an LPN of BGY88F AR
which showed to have no insurance. The operator of the vehicle was believed to be Clinton Bedford and who's
identity was later confirmed. The Tahoe belonged to Shemika Slater, who had a protection order against Bedford.
Bedford had
multiple felony warrants from surrounding agencies and a suspended DL. The pursuit continued through I-630 and several city
streets with speeds between 40-90 mph.
At approximately 12:43 AM, I was able to located the pursuit on University southbound from C Street. I became primary in the
pursuit at that intersection and notified ASP dispatch. As we approached Markham, Bedford drove onto the curb from University
and entered the Park Plaza parking area while crossing over another curb. As we approached the North Plaza parking area
entrance from Markham, Bedford exited the vehicle and fled on foot while the vehicle was still in motion. The vehicle continued
in the parking lot where it struck the rear of my unit as I was attempting to drive around to cut off and apprehend Bedford as he
fled on foot. The Tahoe came to a stop after striking my unit.
I entered Markham from the south entrance of the Park Plaza
parking area where Bedford was cut off from multiple sides by my unit and several LRPD units. I exited my vehicle and assisted
in placing Bedford on the ground. Bedford tucked his right arm underneath his chest. An unidentified LRPD officer was
attempting to restrain and position Bedford's left arm and began saying that the suspect was grabbing the officer's equipment.
As there are multiple tools that can harm and disable other officer's on scene, I struck Bedford in the upper back and the left
side of his face with a closed fist, causing him to let go of any equipment he was holding on to. I grabbed Bedford's right arm
and was able to secure it behind him. I then assisted LRPD and securing Bedford's left arm where they were finally able to
place handcuff's on him. After the handcuffs were secure, LRPD took custody of Bedford and the Tahoe. Bedford attempted to
provide multiple fake names while being identified. I used my finger print scanner in order to get a positive identification.
Bedford was then positively identified and his warrants were confirmed.
LRPD then transported and charged Bedford accordingly.
