Title
Prosecutor Arrested After Ordering Cops To Shut Off Their Bodycams
Description
Devon Hogan Flanagan is a Special Assistant Attorney General in Rhode Island. She has spent 7 years prosecuting criminal cases. On August 14, 2025, she was asked to leave a restaurant in Newport. She refused.
When officers arrived, the first thing she said was: "Turn off your bodycam. It’s protocol." It wasn’t. Her own office later confirmed she was wrong.
She told officers she was "an AG." She told them they would "regret this." One officer responded: "Good for you. I don’t give a s---."
Her friend slipped out of handcuffs and kicked the police car door. Both women were charged.
