Title
A Witness Said He Hit Her. She’s The One Who Left In Handcuffs
Description
On June 18, 2024, Wausau police were called to a parking lot on Cleveland Avenue for a physical fight between a man and a woman inside a car.
When officers arrived, both people — Anna Kostecki and Matthew Heslip — said nothing physical had happened. Kostecki, who had been drinking, denied being hit and denied hitting him.
Then a witness told a third officer that she had seen Heslip punch Kostecki multiple times while they were in the car. The report's disposition states it directly: "Matthew punched Anna multiple times while in a vehicle."
Kostecki did not cooperate with the arrest. She pulled away, refused commands, and — according to the report — kicked at officers, including striking an officer's hand. She was taken to the ground and transported to jail.
By the end of the night, Kostecki was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting an officer, battery to a law enforcement officer, and felony bail jumping (she had an open case at the time), with a probation hold and an underage-drinking citation. Heslip was charged with a single count of disorderly conduct.
This video holds both facts at once: Kostecki genuinely resisted arrest — and, according to a witness, she was the one who had been hit.
🚫 The witness and all bystanders are blurred and unnamed. Personal data is redacted.
⚖️ Both people are charged, not convicted, and are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
