Title
Mary Lou Retton DUI Arrest Bodycam: 'I'm An Olympic Gold Medalist'| Full Bodycam
Description
In 1984, a sixteen-year-old girl from Fairmont, West Virginia became the first American woman to win the Olympic all-around gold medal. Her name was Mary Lou Retton. They called her America’s Sweetheart.
On May 17, 2025, officers in Fairmont received reports of a white Porsche driving all over the roadway. They found Mary Lou Retton in an AutoZone parking lot with a screw-top wine bottle in the passenger seat and an oxygen tank on her back.
She told the officers she was an Olympic gold medalist and that she could do balance beam. Then she failed all three sobriety tests. She refused the breathalyzer because ‘they say don’t blow.’ She called herself West Virginia’s first daughter.
She pled no contest. She was fined $100.
This is the full bodycam breakdown.
All footage released by Fairmont Police Department via FOIA.
