Title
Parolee doesn't want jail - HIGH SPEED PURSUIT at 122 MPH
Description
Trooper's Narrative:
On Sunday September 17th 2023, I, Trooper First Class Ethan Carlton, was patrolling Highway 65 near Damascus. I visually
observed a blue street bike coming up behind me, passing vehicles at a high rate of speed. I activated my rear radar, which
gave a speed of 92 miles per hour with a clear Doppler tone. As the motorcycle approached my unit, I activated my emergency
blue lights and siren. The motorcycle slowed slightly for a brief time, then accelerated to speeds of 122 mph in a 45 mph zone.
At that time, the pursuit ensued north through the city limits of DAMASCUS into Van Buren County. We continued north on
highway 65 at speeds over 100 mph for approximately 6 miles. I ordered the driver to pull over multiple times throughout the
pursuit. He came to a stop near the South Side Bee Branch School. The driver, identified as Garey Ray White Jr, of Conway,
Arkansas, was taken into custody. Mr. White is a Parolee, and his Parole Officer was advised of his arrest. JT Towing towed
the motorcycle and Mr. White was transported to Faulkner County Detention Center Unit 2, where he was booked on the above
charges.
