Description
On September 23, 2026, at approximately 9:04 PM, Arkansas State Police Trooper Holly Romero was patrolling U.S. Highway 278 near Fountain Drive in Hempstead County when she observed a gray passenger vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the opposite direction. Her moving radar registered the vehicle at approximately 80 MPH in a posted 55 MPH zone.
Trooper Romero turned around and attempted to catch up with the vehicle. After activating her emergency lights, the vehicle turned onto Fountain Drive and continued southbound. According to the report, the driver did not show signs of pulling over, and Trooper Romero advised dispatch that she was in an active pursuit.
The vehicle eventually entered the driveway of a residence on Fountain Drive. Trooper Romero gave the driver verbal commands to exit the vehicle and place his hands behind his back. The driver was then taken into custody without incident.
The report identifies the vehicle as a gray 2018 Nissan Altima. It also states that the driver admitted he was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver's license and was attempting to reach a relative's residence so the vehicle would not be towed.
Watch the full dashcam footage to follow Trooper Romero's pursuit from the initial traffic observation through the eventual stop.
