Officer Shot in Line of Duty Flies with Thunderbirds

Milwaukee Police Officers Jose Lopez and his partner former Officer Alex Arce were both shot by a teenage gang member on November 6, 2007. Alex's injury forced him to retire; Jose recovered from his injuries and was honored by the United States Air Force Thunderbirds with the opportunity to fly with this elite unit in the summer of 2009. We salute Jose, Alex and all our brave officers at the Milwaukee Police Department. And during U.S. Armed Forces Week we salute those who also work to keep us safe at home.
