Toyota Matrix Flees Conway Police Before Arkansas State Police Takes Over the Pursuit

What began as a Conway Police Department pursuit on Lower Ridge Road soon brought Arkansas State Police into the chase. According to the official report, Corporal Corey Earls was advised that Conway Police were pursuing a white 2010 Toyota Matrix eastbound. Earls began heading toward the pursuit while monitoring radio traffic, positioning himself in case the vehicle turned back west. That decision soon put him directly in the path of the chase. When the pursuit reversed direction and began heading westbound toward Greenbrier, Conway Police requested assistance from Arkansas State Police. Earls moved northbound onto State Highway 225 East and intercepted the pursuit near 150 East Main. Corporal Earls then became the primary pursuing officer as the Toyota continued toward a populated area. With the chase now directly in front of him, Earls began looking for an opportunity to bring the pursuit under control.
