20-Year-Old Killer Jokes Through Interrogation, Has No Idea Her Boyfriend Told Police Everything
Description
On April 27, 2021, 23-year-old Jayla Wyatt was found dead inside an apartment on South Sixth Street in Zanesville, Ohio. Investigators soon focused on 20-year-old Tristaney Baker and her boyfriend, Devin McKnelly. Authorities alleged that Baker traveled from Columbus to Zanesville following an earlier conflict involving Wyatt, with McKnelly driving her to the apartment. Less than 24 hours later, Baker was sitting inside a police interview room. Throughout the interrogation, she denied key allegations and maintained that she had never handled a gun. At times, she joked and appeared surprisingly casual despite the seriousness of the investigation. But Baker didn't know one crucial detail: Devin McKnelly was also talking to investigators. As detectives compared her account with McKnelly's statements, witness information, and surveillance evidence, the gaps in her story became increasingly important. This video presents the police interrogation of Tristaney Baker and the critical moments that followed as detectives challenged her version of events. Just 20 days after this interrogation, on May 17, 2021, Baker pleaded guilty to all five counts against her. She was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, plus six years. McKnelly pleaded guilty to aggravated murder and received a life sentence with parole eligibility after 20 years. Both convictions were later upheld on appeal. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🔬 ABOUT EVIDENCE INTERROGATION LAB Evidence Interrogation Lab presents real police interrogations and criminal investigations, focusing on the evidence, contradictions, admissions, and investigative techniques that reveal how major cases unfold.
