Building Trust: Portland Police & Muslim Community Celebrate 10 Years of MAC

At the 10th Annual Police Muslim Advisory Council (MAC) Iftar dinner, community members and Portland Police Bureau officers reflected on a decade of partnership built on trust, conversation, and shared commitment to public safety. Ramadan is a time for reflection, growth, and community. The MAC brings officers and members of Portland’s Muslim community together to build relationships, improve understanding, and ensure people feel heard and supported. For many attendees, the experience was simple but powerful: sitting together, talking, and realizing that public safety is strongest when it is built through connection. Over the past ten years, the MAC has helped strengthen relationships, support victims, and create dialogue that benefits the entire community. This video captures voices from the evening and highlights the importance of continued collaboration between the Portland Police Bureau and Portland’s Muslim community.
