Mom Realizes Her Teen Son Is Going To Prison For Murder

An officer joined the St. Petersburg Police Department in 1985 and spent most of his career working the midnight shift in the Patrol Division. To those who knew him, he was a compassionate officer, a devoted husband, and a proud father. But on the night of February 21st, 2011, during one of those routine shifts, everything changed. At around 10:30 p.m., he responded to a 911 call reporting a suspicious person near 3rd Avenue South. The caller described a young man walking through a backyard with a brick in his hand — a slender teenager, approximately 5'9" to 5'11", wearing a dark hoodie and shorts.
