Title
Suspect high on drugs flees Arkansas State Police at 102+ MPH - Smashes through Mayor's fence #chase
Description
Trooper's Narrative:
On September 4, 2025, at approximately 12:13 P.M., I attempted to stop a black passenger car at the 3-mile marker
northbound on Interstate 55. The black car, a Lincoln MKZ, began accelerating as I attempted to catch up to it. I activated my
front radar as we approached the 3B exit and got a reading of 102 miles per hour as he went over the overpass at the exit. I
turned on my blue lights and siren and advised Forrest City that I was in pursuit.
The Lincoln continued west on Broadway as it approached MLK, at speeds of over 100 miles per hour with no regard for the
safety of other motorists on the road. It continued to travel west as we approached Walker Street, continuing to drive at speeds
over 100 miles per hour in a 35 miles per hour zone. As it traveled through the intersection, the Lincoln hit its brakes hard and
began to skid. As it lost control, it traveled into the eastbound lanes, head-on with other traffic. The driver regained control and
turned left into an abandoned lot. I followed the Lincoln into the lot. The Lincoln began to travel back east and turned right,
south, onto Walker St. The Lincoln lost control again and crashed into a wooden fence. The Lincoln came to a stop on the other
side of the fence. While I was waiting for additional units, the driver, JUSTIN BREWER, was attempting to destroy evidence by
pouring COCAINE on the floor of the car, unbeknownst to me. I could not see if BREWER was the only occupant of the car, so
I waited for additional units to arrive.
The driver, JUSTIN BREWER B/M from Memphis, TN, was taken into custody after a short time, without further
incident.
After BREWER was taken into custody, a West Memphis Officer was clearing the car and was exposed to the powder floating
in the air. We asked BREWER what was in the car, and he said COCAINE. EMS was called to check the Officer, who they
cleared. I collected the packaging and a tooter straw to send to the ASCL for analysis.
I was exposed to the contents of the car but never felt any effects or change in my body.
BREWER was charged with the following:
FLEEING (FELONY) SUBSTANTIAL RISK OF DEATH
RECKLESS DRIVING
TAMPERING WITH PHYSICAL EVIDENCE
POSSESSION OF COCAINE 2 GRAMS
POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA
CRIMINAL MISCHIEF
EXPOSING ANOTHER PERSON TO FENTANYL (The substance is not known)
DRIVING ON SUSPENDED LICENSE
NO INSURANCE
