Arkansas State Police pursuit w/ EQUINOX - 105 mph PIT MANEUVER sends SUV into cornfield 🌽 #chase
Description
Trooper's Narrative: On Thursday, January 22, 2026, I was patrolling westbound on Arkansas State Highway 160 when I observed a dark gray SUV traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed. My radar confirmed the vehicle was traveling 67 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone. I turned my patrol vehicle around, activated my emergency lights and sirens, and passed another eastbound vehicle before catching up to the dark gray SUV. Once behind the vehicle, both of us were traveling at speeds exceeding 90 miles per hour. At this point, I notified Dispatch I was conducting a traffic stop. Due to the vehicle failing to slow down and my observation of smoke coming from the exhaust multiple times as the driver pressed the accelerator, I advised Dispatch that I was now in pursuit. Approximately one mile up the road was a T intersection with a reduced speed limit of 40 miles per hour. Considering these factors, I decided to conduct a Tactical Vehicle Intervention (TVI) to protect public safety. After a successful TVI, using my front passenger side push bumper to make contact with the vehicle’s rear driver side quarter panel at 105 miles per hour, the suspect vehicle left the roadway to the north (left), continued backward into a ditch, and came to a stop in a crop field. The passenger fled on foot. The driver, later identified as Tyerica Robinson, exited the vehicle and was taken into custody without further incident. Shortly after placing her under arrest, an assisting law enforcement agency remained with Robinson. I pursued the passenger on foot. Once close to the subject, he turned around and I gave commands for him to put his hands up. He did as instructed and then laid on the ground on his stomach due to being out of breath. I instructed him to put his hands out to the side, which he did. I then approached the subject and checked him for weapons. He was taken into custody without further incident and later identified as Jocavion Williams. An assisting officer located a large clear bag containing eight individual bags of marijuana on the eastbound shoulder near the location where the TVI was conducted. An assisting law enforcement agency transported the driver, Tyerica Robinson, to the Lafayette County Jail. I transported the passenger, Jocavion Williams, to the Lafayette County Jail. The driver of the vehicle was charged with the following: Felony: 5-54-125(d) – Fleeing – Vehicle or Conveyance (Class D) 5-64-436(b)(3) – Possession with Purpose to Deliver Controlled Substance Schedule VI = 4 Ounces - 25 pounds (Class C) Misdemeanor: 27-14-601 - Owner Fail to Register Vehicle – Expired Tags 27-22-104 – No Liability Insurance 27-51-201, 27-50-302(7) – Speeding 1-15 Miles Per Hour Over Limit The passenger of the vehicle was charged with the following: Felony: 5-64-436(b)(3) – Possession with Purpose to Deliver Controlled Substance Schedule VI = 4 Ounces - 25 pounds (Class C) Misdemeanor: 5-54-102 – Obstructing Governmental Operations (Class C) 5-54-125(c) – Fleeing – On Foot (Class C)
