Title
I-4 reckless drunk driver
Description
Yesterday (4/22/26), deputies and FHP troopers responded to multiple reports of hit-and-run crashes involving a reckless driver on I-4, starting in Seminole County. Witnesses reported the suspect vehicle hit a guardrail, lost a front wheel and continued driving, exiting I-4 and getting stuck at a construction site off Shell Road in DeBary. Deputies detained the driver, Eric Drewry (DOB 8/28/1978), who appeared to be under the influence. He resisted and kicked a deputy while being escorted into the back of a patrol vehicle. While being questioned by a trooper about the crash, Drewry responded "What crash?" While being transported to the hospital Drewry asked deputies multiple times to be released in exchange for $2,000. Instead, he was charged with resisting and battery on law enforcement by VSO, and DUI, leaving the scene of a crash with property damage, and refusal to submit to DUI testing (subsequent offense) by FHP.
