Sheriff Chitwood, police chiefs, House Speaker Paul Ryan to discuss de-escalation tactics

Sheriff Chitwood is heading to Janesville, Wisconsin, on Monday, Jan. 16, to meet with House Speaker Paul Ryan on new approaches for law enforcement officers in potentially deadly situations. De-escalation tactics are at the heart of what we're doing at the Sheriff's Office. Sanctity of all life comes first. That means we slow down, our deputies go home to their families, and the people we deal with go back home, safely to jail or into custody for mental health treatment. Listen for yourself.
