Police bodycam footage shows deputies investigating a suspected DUI after a driver made an illegal U-turn, admitted drinking, and refused field sobriety testing. The traffic stop escalated when the driver suddenly walked away, told deputies to take him to jail, and then allegedly fought officers during the arrest. After eventually stepping out of the vehicle, the driver continued disputing the testing process. Moments later, he abruptly walked away while saying, “Just take me to jail. You got me, right?” When deputies attempted to stop and handcuff him, the encounter turned into a violent struggle. Authorities alleged that multiple officers were injured during the arrest, including injuries involving broken glass. Richard Leaken was taken into custody and charged with DUI, resisting an officer with violence, three counts of battery on a law-enforcement officer, and refusal to submit to a breath test.
