Wilbur-by-the-Sea home destroyed in Hurricane Nicole

Neighbors helping neighbors: While checking on residents today in Wilbur-by-the-Sea, we met Ms. Nina Lavigna, whose longtime home collapsed in the storm. Thankfully she's OK. It didn't take long for a team of neighbors to show up to help salvage what's left. Our team of Sheriff Chitwood, Sen. Tom Wright and Rep. Chase Tramont met some incredible people today. P.S. To all residents who evacuated, rest assured that deputies are out in force to prevent any and all looting or criminal activity. If you're a criminal, the last place you want to be out and about right now is beachside Volusia County.
