Title
Fleeing is a Felony - Jaqueline Camarena
Description
As a part of the Milwaukee Police Department's Keep MKE's Streets Safe initiative, MPD will feature a driver who has been arrested, charged, convicted and sentenced for felony reckless driving and/or fleeing. This week we are featuring Jaqueline Camarena. On October 3, 2018, Jaqueline was involved in a robbery that occurred on the 2700 block of South 31st St. Jaqueline pulled one of the victims out of the vehicle and began to physically attack her as another suspect attacked the passenger. After physically assaulting the victims, Jaqueline and the suspects stole the victim’s vehicle and fled the location. On November 18, 2018, Milwaukee Police observed Jaqueline driving a different stolen vehicle on the 800 block of West Wright Street. That vehicle was also stolen in a robbery. Officers activated their lights and sirens to conduct a traffic stop; however, Jacqueline refused to pull over and led officers on a vehicle pursuit. Jacqueline lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree. Jacqueline was subsequently taken into custody. She was found guilty of Driving or Operating a Vehicle Without Consent, Attempting to Flee or Elude an Officer, and Robbery with Use of Force. All of which are felonies.
