Man steals a Jeep, HIGH SPEED PURSUIT, State Police PIT Maneuver, & TASER deployment twice #chase

Sherwood, Arkansas (September 6, 2023) - Sherwood PD respond to reports of a man who stole a vehicle from a hospital parking lot. Sherwood PD spot the vehicle and a pursuit ensued. As the pursuit entered the Interstate, Arkansas State Police were requested for assistance. Trooper Davis caught up and performed a PIT / TVI maneuver on the Jeep. The TVI was successful in stopped the pursuit. It appears a rod(?) broke on Trooper Davis' vehicle sending it into the barrier. The suspect was removed from the vehicle and refused commands. He was subsequently TASED. Sherwood and Arkansas State Police were then able to take the suspect into custody. It was later learned to suspect stole the vehicle from a family member and was, obviously, suffering from a mental defect.
