Description
On October 5, 2026, at approximately 3:43 PM, Arkansas State Police Trooper Kristopher Wootten attempted to initiate a traffic stop on an unlicensed red 50cc moped in the 700 block of Weston Road in rural Garland County.
According to the official report, the rider failed to yield after the trooper activated his emergency lights and siren. The moped continued northbound on Weston Road toward Albert Pike Road.
Trooper Wootten maneuvered alongside the moped and guided it toward the right shoulder. The moped entered the roadside ditch and went onto its side, after which the rider fled on foot into a wooded area.
Hot Springs Police officers later assisted with a canine track as officers attempted to locate the individual.
The incident report states that an Arkansas driver's license found inside the moped helped investigators identify the suspected operator.
The report identifies the suspect as Chance Vaughn.
Watch the complete dashcam footage and follow the sequence of events as the traffic stop develops into a pursuit and the rider attempts to escape on foot.
