Title
High-Speed Motorcycle Chase Ends with Ditch Crash and Emergency Narcan #pursuit #chase
Description
Report: On September 10, 2026, I was traveling east on Interstate 40 en route to Helena, Arkansas, for court. As I approached the Brinkley exit on I-40, Troop-D Communications advised that St. Francis County Deputies were in pursuit of a domestic violence suspect. Dispatch stated that the suspect was on a motorcycle traveling south on State Highway 284 and approaching I-40. Moments later, dispatch advised that the motorcycle had entered Interstate 40 westbound. I continued traveling east on I-40 while monitoring radio traffic to determine where I could assist. The pursuit continued westbound, passing the 231-mile marker on I-40. At that time, I was near the 225-mile marker turnaround, so I pulled in and waited. Shortly after pulling into the turnaround, the pursuit passed me heading west. I activated my emergency lights and merged in behind the pursuing units. A St. Francis County Deputy waved me forward, and I moved to the front and took primary in the pursuit. Around the 224-mile marker, I became the primary unit. The suspect traveled on the outside shoulder at speeds between approximately 55 and 70 miles per hour. He was not wearing a helmet or eye protection. The pursuit ended when the suspect attempted to exit onto State Highway 78 at the 221-mile marker. He failed to negotiate the S-curve of the exit ramp, causing him to straighten out of the curve and leave the roadway. After leaving the roadway, the suspect collided with a ditch, crossed State Highway 78, and went off the roadway again. The motorcycle came to a final rest in the north ditch of State Highway 78. Deputies and I then conducted a felony takedown. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. Following the arrest, the suspect, identified as JUSTIN CODY REYNOLDS, was placed in Deputy Zack Edgin’s patrol unit. EMS was requested to evaluate him. Narcan was administered to Mr. REYNOLDS, and he was transported to Regional One Medical Center. Because he required out-of-state medical attention, the St. Francis County Sheriff’s Department has issued a felony affidavit warrant for Mr. REYNOLDS for fleeing and related charges.
