The Voices Behind Every 911 Call | Thank you BOEC!

In recognition of National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, we’re proud to give a shout out to our partners at the Bureau of Emergency Communications. To our 911 call takers, dispatchers, support staff, and supervisors, your dedication keeps Multnomah County connected and supported in moments that matter most. You are the vital link between our community and first responders. We see you. We appreciate you. Alt Text (Video Description): Chief Bob Day, in full Portland Police Bureau uniform, speaks directly to the camera. The video cuts to the Bureau of Emergency Communications sign, followed by scenes of call takers seated at computer stations wearing headsets and monitoring dispatch screens. A flag waves outside the BOEC building. Police officers are shown inside their patrol cars speaking into radios. The video includes a sweeping view of the Portland skyline. It ends with Chief Day speaking again, followed by a close-up of the Portland Police Bureau badge.
