Title
Stolen GMC Sierra - PIT Maneuver sends truck into the guardrail (Arkansas State Police Pursuit)
Description
On 3-3-23, at 9:47 A.M., Troop D dispatch advised that a vehicle theft of a red 2016 GMC Sierra bearing AR 472ZNB had
just occurred at Shell Lake Grocery in Saint Francis County and the vehicle was last seen headed eastbound on I-40. Trooper
Fultz and I headed towards the interstate to intercept the vehicle in an attempt to get it stopped.
At 9:53 A.M., I obtained a visual of a vehicle matching the description near the 276 mile marker. As I was able to pull out and
catch up to the vehicle, I confirmed the license plate of the vehicle. Before I even activated my emergency equipment, I noticed
that we were already traveling at speeds near 100 M.P.H. and the roadway was wet because of rainy weather that had been
present all morning. I activated my emergency equipment and requested that Trooper Fultz take over the radio
communications for me. As soon as I activated my emergency equipment, the suspect vehicle made an abrupt lane change
and began passing another motorist. It was very obvious to me that the suspect was going to lead us on a vehicle pursuit.
Due
to the time of day, road conditions, and traffic conditions, I made the decision to perform a TVI before we got into heavy traffic.
I positioned my vehicle to perform a TVI using the front left of my vehicle to make contact with the right rear of the suspect's
vehicle. I was able to successfully execute a TVI and spin the suspect vehicle in a clockwise motion. The suspect left the right
side of the roadway and struck a guardrail, disabling the vehicle. Trooper Fultz and I were able to safely perform a felony take
down of the driver of the vehicle.
Once the driver was taken into custody, we were able to identify him as Jeremiah Green
(10/9/2003) out of Memphis, TN. Green's information was ran through dispatch and he showed to have no valid driver's
license. He also showed to have a full extradition warrant (22017278) for a felony theft of property out of Shelby County,
Tennessee.
Green was transported to the Crittenden County Detention Center where he was checked out by EMS and released. Green
was booked in and advised of his court date and time.
The vehicle was inventoried and then towed by B&D Towing.
Charges: Theft by Receiving (Fel), Fleeing (Fel), Speeding More than 15 Over, Reckless Driving, No Driver's License.
