Title
Fleeing Dodge Challenger & Camaro use top acceleration running from Arkansas State Police #pursuit
Description
Trooper's Report:
On Saturday, August 19, 2023, at approximately 1:20 am, I, Trooper Daniel R. Parker #390, was turning onto Geyer Springs
from State Police Headquarters and witnessed a late model Dodge Challenger traveling north on Geyer Springs. The car had a
license plate in the previous format of 3 numbers followed by 3 letters, rather than the current format of 3 letters followed by 2
numbers and another letter. I thought this was strange since the car looked to be new, or nearly new. I ran the tag over the
radio and Troop A Communication advised the tag returned to a Cadillac Escalade out of North Little Rock. I confirmed with
the dispatcher that I had given the correct tag and when it was confirmed I activated my emergency lights to initiate a traffic
stop just before Browning Road.
The Challenger moved to the right lane behind a Black Chevrolet Camaro, and I could hear the Camaro accelerate. The
Challenger then accelerated with the Camaro. I radioed to Troop A Communications that I was in pursuit of the black Dodge
Challenger and that a Camaro was also fleeing with it. The 2 suspect vehicles turned right onto 65th Street and quickly gained
distance from me, reaching speeds in excess of 150 miles per hour. I used due regard through traffic lights as there was
minimal traffic out. As the suspect vehicles approached Scott Hamilton, I could see them drive through the red light without
slowing, but as I approached, I had to slow significantly to avoid a vehicle traveling through the intersection.
I saw at least one of the suspect vehicles turning left onto Interstate 30 East and relayed that information to Troop A
Communications. I turned onto Interstate 30 East and traveled to the south Interchange of Interstate 30, 440, and 530. I did
not have a visual on either one of the vehicles, so I discontinued the pursuit, returned to normal highway speed, and drove into
the downtown Little Rock area at approximately 1:24 am. After I passed by the Interstate 530 exit ramp, Troop A
Communications advised of a Dodge passenger car traveling south.
The Camaro had Arkansas dealer tags, but I could only make out EX on the tag as it was not initially my target vehicle. I
performed an ACIC search of the registered owner of the license plate on the Dodge Challenger and found Tracy King (DOB:
2/24/1990) of North Little Rock. His ACIC return shows him to be incarcerated in the Pulaski County Backup List Facility. I
confirmed that he was incarcerated at the time of the pursuit by calling ADC and being referred to the Pulaski County Inmate
roster where he is being held and has been since April 23, 2023. The suspect information is unknown.
