Yeah, he seems normal. not on anything obvious besides hitting his squad car. Yeah. But uh like onset of something. She said uh he was up all night. Daughter she's she works at 3M up all night worried about something and I'm assuming that that's what he was driving to. Said he was trying to get back home. So he circled the whole block and that's when he came back and smoked the squad. Okay. But yeah, I got a family member on the way for you. All right. Roger was not arrested and no criminal charges were filed against him. He was issued three citations, including inattentive driving, failure to notify law enforcement of an accident, and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. Police also required him to be evaluated by the Department of Motor Vehicles to determine if he is still medically cleared to be a licensed driver. Put your hands behind your back. That was not Put I remember when I was younger watching this old cops episode of an officer with one leg who chased a suspect down and actually caught him. And that did stay with me because that's what I call not giving up and it's resilience. Back in 1999 day work, I was in a foot pursuit for probably six or seven blocks, but it felt like 20. Thank goodness my radio worked properly so backup could find me because I was exhausted when I caught up to this guy. And I already went one round with him before the pursuit. So I couldn't tell you how the second round might have gone. And in this case, resilience was tested twice. First with a combative intoxicated suspect who tried to square up and escalate a crash into a confrontation and again with an older male who appeared disoriented, possibly suffering from early signs of dementia, who returned to the scene and crashed into a police cruiser. And although one guy had to be taken down hard, one of the biggest myths about police is that we want to use force. That's just false because every use of force report, every complaint, and every physical encounter brings scrutiny, paperwork, and emotional weight that's difficult to carry. In the end, these were very different situations. Yet, both required officers to stay alert, stay calm, and respond with both strength and judgment. Because no matter the reason behind the recklessness, the responsibility to keep everyone safe always falls on the shoulders of the police officers. No, get off my radio. No, you can't always outrun a one-legged guy.
