[music] This mug shot went viral across the internet. The story attached to it [music] claimed a waitress attacked customers at an Olive Garden with bread sticks because they didn't leave a [music] tip. Complete with the quote, "Unlimited bread sticks doesn't mean unlimited freed labor." The story spread across Facebook, Tik Tok, and X, reaching millions of people, but it was completely fabricated and AI generated. The woman in the photo has never worked at Olive Garden a day in her life. Olive Garden even chimed in to call out the hoax in the comment section. But the mug shot itself was 100% real. It came from a public intoxication arrest in Texas taken [music] on August 21st, 2025, just weeks after the girl in the photo, Megan, suffered a family [music] tragedy. This is the actual body cam footage from that night. Hey, can I point her out for you? >> Yes, please. >> Hell yeah. Hey, that blonde right there. [music] >> Right there. End of the fence. >> Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a disturbance in the Northgate bar district. They arrived to find Megan highly distressed and trying to explain what happened. >> What is going on? >> My foster dad is a cop on Northgate. Officer, I don't know if he's involved. >> Okay. >> Okay. So, we were trying to go into the bars and then these group of girls attacked me. >> Okay. >> And then they put hands on me and then I was trying to leave and she was with me and I was trying to push them all up against me and my current friends are in the bar. I have done nothing against them and girls keep coming up against me and I am ready to leave. I don't want to leave. >> Who did you hit? >> I didn't hit anybody. >> Then why am I getting a 911 call that you hit people? because this is just how Northgate unfortunately works and I do not want any part of it. You know how many times I've been hit here? >> Can I call my foster dad over here? Officer. >> No, he he's not at work. >> Megan immediately tries to pull the dad card, claiming he's a local officer. But the police on the scene aren't biting. They're more interested in the 911 calls reporting that Megan was the one doing the hitting. >> Okay, I have done nothing. Please pull up the cameras because I've done nothing but stand here. This is my friend. >> So So how did this all start? You were trying to get into the bar. >> I was going into the bar and there was these girls. They pushed up against us. I have done nothing but like defend myself. If you would please look at the >> describe how you defended yourself. >> I just put my arms up. >> Okay. >> I I don't know if you know anything about me. >> Did you get hit anywhere, >> sir? >> Did you get hit anywhere? Do you have any injuries? >> Can I tell you something? Sure. >> I went through foster care. >> I recently just grew out of it. >> Okay. >> Nothing about my life is safe. So if somebody puts their hands up whatsoever and even going in, there's been problems even just now. Same right here. >> So what was this whole argument over? >> Just trunk bullies. I've done nothing. >> Okay. Did you Did you say something that rubbed on the wrong >> part? I've only ever put my arms out against. >> Okay. I'm a little girl. >> Okay. >> So, if somebody's trying to push up against me and my friends, >> do you think any of this would have happened if you were sober? >> No. I honestly it is first week back to college. I'm not even going here. >> So, what was your plan? You were trying to get in the bar, drink some more tonight or what? >> I'm not going to lie. Even it's like October. >> Find the RP or did he leave already? >> Not even listening to me. >> No, there there a bunch of other drunk people. Hold on. >> Uh, there were a bunch of >> Yeah, she's in some sort of scuffle with other girls. I'm just trying to find whatever people may have been on the other half of that. >> Okay. >> While Megan maintains her innocence, witnesses nearby are telling a completely different story. One that involves a physical altercation with a guy just moments before. >> That girl fighting with the guy out here. >> That guy right here, she hit him. >> I punched him. >> Continue. moral. >> I'm not trying to cause any harm. >> All I came was for a good time with me and my friend. >> Intend to be since I'm the littlest, I get bullied, >> so I retaliate. I'm not a person to accept people bullying me. If somebody's going to bully me, I'm going to retaliate. >> Cops then move on to interview the victim to hear her side of the story. >> You You tell them what happened to you. >> This is so embarrassing. I do not like this. It's okay. But they tell him. >> So there were other guys and that girl I guess bumped into him and so we were sitting right here. Two guys that I that I'm friends with and um she walked past him and I guess bumped into him and so that the guy turned around was like okay. You could have said excuse me and they kind of got into it. I've never seen this girl in my life. I work on Northgate. Like it's not what I do. Anyway, so she walks by or I walk by her and like we're clearly my friends are arguing with her. So, we're making we're looking I'm looking at this girl and I'm like talking to them as I'm walking and she just grabs me while she's like I swear to God not even a word out of my mouth. Grabs me by my hair and I literally sat there and she would not let go of my [ __ ] and that's when I started kicking cuz like she's literally holding my stuff and they're trying to break it open and she's not >> she's literally holding me by my hair like this. Yes. >> Is she grabbing or just grabbing? >> She didn't know. She didn't hit me. She was just grabbing my hair. >> The story starts to shift. Megan admits that if someone gets in her space, she's going to push them back. Now the officers are trying to figure out exactly how many drinks led to this instinctive retaliation. >> Since I retaliated, somebody's going to have a problem, obviously. >> What do you mean by retaliate? What did you do? >> I don't know. If somebody's getting up in my space, I'm going to push them back. >> Okay. So, you did push somebody. >> Somebody got my face first. >> How much did you have to drink tonight? >> Sir, how am I supposed to know? >> One drink, two drinks, 500 drinks, 7 million drinks. She had a couple shots, but we didn't try. >> Okay. >> What's your name? Do you have your ID with you? >> From what I see, like I didn't see her. Can I ask you asking me for my ID and not anybody else? Two cups. >> Do you see any do you see me talking to anybody else right now or do you see me talking to you right now? >> I'm asking questions as my right to ask questions. >> I'm sorry. It's just it's bothering me because I did nothing. >> So, are you not wanting to give me your ID? I'm going to give you my key, but as I'm asking you questions, >> is there a camera? Do you have a camera going? >> Yeah, there's camera's up here. >> There was another cop. He's going to go get the other side of the store. He's going to talk to the police, so it'll be okay. >> And officer is on duty. >> Nope. >> Allegedly, I'm calling his daughter. >> He's not at work tonight. >> It'll be okay. >> That's okay. >> Doesn't matter. I've literally done nothing wrong. All I did in this past time You're out here in public and you got into some kind of physical complication with somebody. >> As the investigation continues, Megan's frustration boils over. She's convinced she's the victim, but the officers are starting to see enough evidence to suggest otherwise. >> Oh, hell no. Hell no. I will defend the out of this. You have tested the wrong person. >> How about this? >> No. No. I've done nothing. I have done nothing. >> No. Stop. I have done nothing. Stop. >> Put your paper back or you going to get God resist. >> I need I need a picture of this girl. Like >> hold on. >> That's fine. But I need a picture of I This is not I did not call y'all. This is not me. I just feel embarrassed. I don't call. Like I'm not a caller. I don't do this. >> Okay. >> Like I said, I've never been in a situation like this. I know better. >> Can you please record? I truly didn't do anything. I didn't I didn't do anything though. >> I literally was just say I was going to call my foster dad. >> I literally said I was going to call my foster dad. >> I didn't do anything. I literally said I was going to call my dad. >> You even told me in your own words that none of this would have happened had you been sober tonight. >> I didn't say that. You really believe in my words. Do you think any of this would have happened if you were sober? >> No. I pray to God. I really do. I really do. >> Perfect. >> I really want my foster dad to be here right now. >> Well, he's not at work and we're not going to wake him up. >> No. What the No. >> Step away from the fence. >> And she wants to give it to you. That's fine. But I would I would recommend she takes it with her. >> Do you want me to come here? >> Yes, please. Are you >> Do you have all all the phone numbers, ma'am? >> To you in your >> probably take it with her. >> Despite several attempts to deescalate, Megan continues arguing her case. Officers are patient, but how much longer can they tolerate such incredible drunkenness? >> Listen, listen. Okay. Go down to the jail. You're going to sober up and then you're going to leave. That's it. Okay. You're not going to have to pay him. >> No, I want to talk to my boss dad. Please talk to you again. 23, but my boss dad works here. He's taking his >> No, he's taking his car. >> The male victim starter counting his version of how the fight began, claiming he was just trying to get the facts. >> And so they were talking to two guys and I I immediately just have the instinct to walk up to the guys. >> Yeah. >> And I was like I was like, "Y'all y'all know y'all know what happened?" Cuz I wasn't here. And And the girl looks at me and goes, "Shut the up." And I was like And I I didn't even entertain her. I I was like, "Y'all know what happened?" And she was like, "You >> I did nothing. Obviously, I'm drunk. I'm 23. >> Listen. Listen, >> I did nothing. Please, I don't care. I want to talk to my dad. >> I want to talk to my dad. This is really >> I didn't." >> Do you have anything in your pockets? Yes or no? >> No. Okay, I'm going to use the back of Okay, I'm going to use the back of my hand to check your pockets. Okay, >> she grabbed my shirt and punched me in the face. >> Okay. >> Did I defend it? >> Did it offend you? >> Oh, I mean, no. I don't care that much. I just want somebody to be held accountable. That's all it is. Hands off. >> Charges on. >> Can I get to the victim? >> Can I get >> Can I get paid? I'm going be honest. >> That's not a >> Okay. No, no, I don't care. >> Okay. Here. Here. Step away from the face. >> I didn't take one step forward. All right, stop resisting. >> I'm not resisting. >> They need to GRAB >> I WANT MY FOSTER DAD. Please >> hold on. Just wait right there. I'm going to grab your your wallet or whatever about it. >> It's not fair. My foster dad isn't here and he's taking an advantage. You are okay. >> I I swear it will be okay. >> I'm trying to fix his stuff. Chris, can you just double lock him? >> Yeah. >> This is a fair and you know you're taking advantage of me 100% and I will sue you. >> Okay, get in line. >> 100%. I'm going to sue you. >> Okay. >> I've done nothing. I've done nothing wrong. I said I would leave >> and you arrested me. >> It's probably a D fight, but there's no telling what the other >> No. If you're asking questions, please. Okay. >> Shoot. Grab my shirt and punch me in the face. I said, "All right, I'm going to go talk to you. I'm going to go I'm going to go cop." >> No, I'm okay. I really am. I Yes, I was offended by it. >> Okay. Charges. >> No. >> She started hitting him and that's where the issue came from cuz clearly he's not going to hit her back. >> She's going to go down in the jail. She's going to sober her up and then they're going to kick her out of there. That's it. Okay. >> Okay. Well, she just to civil court cuz my foster is civil. So, she said she was going to sue me because she knows >> because I'm trying to discuss this and you won't let me talk. I'm trying to talk. >> Can I please talk, please? >> Here, have a seat. >> Can I talk right here? >> We'll talk on the way to the car. >> Can I please? No. Please. >> A little bit. >> I'm I'm trying to be Please, can I talk >> here? Bring your legs. >> Please bring your legs. >> Please. I promise. I'm going to try. Don't go away. I wasn't trying to cause problems. I was just trying to talk. [laughter] >> Not hurt. I don't want to press mark. >> You didn't feel anything when it happened? >> Yes, I felt pain. She was pulling my hair. What? >> But I'm okay. >> You said you saw that happen. >> Oh, yeah. I saw that [ __ ] >> Absolutely. All of a sudden, >> walked up to her and started grabbing her hair and cuz I was right cuz I was the one who broke up the fight. Like that's why I know like I was in the middle of it and then the other girl like dead ass like grabbed him by the shirt and hit him in the face. >> I'm looking at her and she just literally lunges at me and grabs me by my hair and does not let go for about 10 seconds as all of these people are pulling us off. >> He got hit in the face by her and didn't touch her. Nothing like like that. Like he just like let her off. He like ran away actually. >> He didn't want to like you know like men like we don't hit girls. You know what I'm saying? like >> what's your phone number? >> And as soon as he gets up there, I don't know what he says cuz I wasn't over there. She grabs him and swung on him twice. Hit him twice. >> Swung on who? This guy. >> This he hit her. Got hit twice. And then that's when he like set back. He didn't hit her back and he called y'all. >> Okay. For example, if somebody gets in a fighting stance and challenges somebody to fight, >> even if they don't take a swing, if they get punched in the mouth, they're still involved in the disorderly conduct. All right. >> Um >> Well, I wasn't even in a fighting stance. I I'm not saying you were. >> So, we don't have a tolerance for for any kind of physical violence at Northgate because that's how people get hurt. If you've been around Northgate a while, you know that >> have I have >> there's violence here all the time and and we're trying to prevent that. Okay. >> So, what I'm getting at, long story short, I'm not saying I doubt you. I'm going to follow up. I'm going to watch a video later. That video showed that you were involved in some kind of disorderly conduct. Um, all things summoned. It's sort of like getting it taken in the mail. >> That's fine. I feel overwhelmed. >> Fair enough. >> It's kind of like >> All right. Never been in a situation like this. >> I'm not sure what's going on. I was trying I'm sorry if I came up, but I was trying to protect myself. I'm very My mom just died and I'm sorry. >> Okay. I I don't think you were looking for trouble tonight, but it's one of those things. >> You're You're so drunk that >> No, I'm not. So, the the root cause right now is that you're so drunk that it's not safe for you to be out in public. Whatever drunken decisions uh >> that that were made tonight led to you getting into a a physical confrontation and I have multiple witnesses saying that you put hands on people. >> Did you get video footage? Because I would >> I'm going to check that later. But either way, the the video footage doesn't change the fact that how wildly drunk you are right now. If somebody puts their hands above me, obviously I'm gonna want to protect myself. I I just lost my mom. And I'm sorry. I'm so so >> I I don't think you're a bad person. I I think you just got a little bit carried away with the alcohol today. I'm only 125 lbs and all those girls throw away your head. >> You told me in your own words that none of this would have happened had you been sober. >> Sir, respect. You are conticting my words. >> No, ma'am. I am not. >> Step out. >> We're going to go. We're going through the door with a window in it. Even as she's being processed, Megan maintains her innocence, claiming she was simply defending herself against bullies. >> We can ask your question. >> Yes. >> Video footage that I >> Yes, I'm going to check. I don't know for a fact if there is video footage. That covers right there. Uh that doesn't change the fact that when I walk up to you that you are still drunk in public and unable to reason. >> Um of Asian. I was waiting for line and if that's the case, then everybody else. >> Right. Well, you're so drunk you have no business going in a bar right now with how hammered you are. >> That's our >> We're not going to argue about your intoxication. >> We will. >> That's what your next argument. No, >> you are lost. I can smell the booze from this far away. >> That's fine. If that's going to be your use of argument, >> no. I would like have a seat in the blue chairs. We have to >> I would like a lawyer right now because I'm trying to talk to you. >> Okay. You can call whoever you'd like in a minute. All right. We're going to come in here. I would like a lawyer right now. >> Okay, I will go. >> All right. And you're going to have a seat in one of these blue chairs. Uh I'm not allowed to take the handcuffs off just yet. I have to wait for one of the the jail employees to to search you first. So go all the way to the far end, that last seat at the far end, and have a tease. >> I would love to talk. >> He's at home asleep right now. >> I'm not going to wake him up. >> Give me a lawyer. >> All right. All the way down here. >> No, no, no, no. Stop. Stop. No, because you're coming. No, because Stop grabbing me like that. >> Have a seat. Stay put. >> No, because you came up with a random excuse. I'd love to talk to you. Stop. I asked my foster dad. Is the cop here in hall station? >> Stay seated. >> I have How am I drunk in your opinion? I was in line. >> Officer Davis, do you think she is drunk? >> I feel like she's very complicated. >> And you're getting the footage from the bar, right? As I was standing there, just standing there >> and you arrested me. >> I was standing there, >> did nothing wrong, and you arrested me. I would love to speak to my my foster dad. Officer, >> please. All I was trying to ask you is truly what I did wrong. I'm trying to speak to you as an adult. Can you give me the same respect as you expect from me? >> But you're not. You're not. You're assuming that I am drunk and I'm trying out. As we got to the door, so what? I'm a little intoxinated. So is every other college student that's there. I'm not blacked out drunk. Obviously, I'm a little bit more aggravated. As I cried out to you, I grew up in foster care. >> He is my foster dad. I grew up in an abusive household. Obviously, I'm not going to retaliate to certain pe certain people putting their hands on me. Obviously, I'm going to stick up for myself. I was put in a self-defense class. What am I supposed to do? Let random big girls beat up on me? I didn't even do that. So, please show me the footage. Please, please. I would love to take your ass to court because I can understand me to a certain extent. I can't. I can understand but I was trying to get I literally cra I'm a very very understanding person and I can understand where I did my wrongs but show me the video proof where I put my hands on to this person to the extent that you're claiming that I did. After returning to the police department, the officer checked the Northgate Street cameras to see if there was any available video of the incident. But due to the construction barriers along Church Street blocking the view, unfortunately, there was no video footage covering the area where the alleged assault took place. >> What the are you even talking about? >> Tell them cave >> 100%. I understand that. But assaulting, >> I was thinking for myself. >> I was single. >> Okay. So, y'all are just y'all are taking complete advantage of this entire situation. >> I hope you know. >> God, I wish you knew. I would never, you know, whatever officer your name is. I would never put my hands on somebody unless they deserve to have their hands on ever. And I want you pull up the video cameras of everybody at that bar because I did nothing when you walked up. When you walked up, all I was asking was questions. Why were you questioning me and nobody else? >> Are you right or left-handed? >> I am right, sir. >> I am right. >> I am 53. >> How much do you? >> I am 125 lbs. >> I would never harm anybody. All I was trying to do was have fun tonight. and I get bullied by the wrong group of people and you fall for it. >> Do you contact this? I'm going to do one more. >> I might need I get my eyes checked recently. >> No, sir. I was like trying to be mean, but you have to listen. Can you show me the same respect out of anything? Please, can I talk to you? >> Would you like to get out of handcuffs sooner or later because >> I would, but can you show me respect? I need your phone number. >> I've been trying to ask you for that. >> What is your phone number? >> Can you please show me the same respect? Please. In regards to the altercation, please [snorts] I was staying there. >> What city were you born in? >> Can you please talk to me? >> All right. What is What is your phone number? >> Are you serious? After that, can you please talk to me? >> Your booking sheet. >> Sorry, that's my old phone number. >> I really I really don't understand why I I promise I'm not a bad person. I >> I think you're a bad person. >> I just think you're just drunk. >> I don't think I'm just drunk. I really don't understand how I got here. >> Who can I use this emergency contact for you? >> I don't have any. >> What about the friend you were with tonight? Can we eat her? >> I don't understand why you're eating. >> This just doesn't make sense to me. Cuz all the people that attacked me were 10 times drunk and you chose me. >> I beg to differ. >> No, I would love to beg to differ. I would love to see video camera footage. And I don't know if it's because my family has a history background. I don't know if it's because when I was 12, my sister stole cars. I really don't get your point. I did nothing. I stood there and I asked questions and you >> you're not helping yourself out by contin. Okay. >> I'm just trying to understand. I'm not trying to be mean. It's just there was literally girls hitting me way bigger than me that you could have gotten probably with >> way bigger felony charges probably everything. >> When is it like sucking up for yourself not a good enough thing? >> It is. >> Can I ask please? >> No. Can I ask? Can I legally ask? When is >> but if I get hit first when I stick that's not >> when I get hit first when can I stick up for myself? >> Not what this is about. >> But it is cuz all I was doing was standing up for myself and then he came up to me. I'm [snorts] really not trying to be problem. I promise. I was just But I try not to be a problem. Like I really don't. I'm transferring >> just like Have you ever got a speeding ticket before? >> I can't see why. >> This is pretty similar to a speeding ticket. >> I don't I everybody I'm not a problem. >> I feel like everybody's thinking that I'm trying to be admissive and like a mistake and what's this? My attitude is not against anybody. And drinking intoxicated all my friends that we were with and he chose me. Everybody else that was with me was the same age. Same intoxication. >> Yeah. >> I'm late. I'm 23. >> You already got it going. >> Somebody hit me. No, my mom died. >> They're taking it after you got >> I don't know how to argue against it. Okay, >> I did. I did. >> When they come to you, I can say get out of my yard. >> I did. I legit when for real I did not do anything. >> Whatever she does is >> honestly whatever I have to do to fight this I will because I did nothing. Literally I was asking >> they stop being medicated. >> The first time I get arrested is after some girls had hit me >> and I have you have a rap or someone you >> somebody these girls this lady put their hands on me figure. Okay. So, this is >> me and they chose my >> They chose me because I was asking my boss or dad >> and because he wasn't working on this [ __ ] >> They chose me. They chose that I was probably entitled or something. And I'm not entitled. I've had a pretty hard life. And I've been telling them and explaining them I'm not a hard decent person. But they're making it 10 times harder for themselves >> because I have explained Yeah, I already did that. >> My little ass 100% way bigger [ __ ] [laughter] at North at the 12. Okay, I'm 23 years old. I can't be drunk at the bar. >> Right. But a man can assault me and I'm still going to get charged that. Right. Right. >> So, what they charge? >> You don't know. >> Yeah. Damn this. >> No, they have not explained >> a good choice. >> Whatever it is. >> No, I >> in the morning. Okay. They just want to get >> No, it's not because I was being >> They need to pay these mouths. They should allow y'all to smoke on duty. Don't leave this arrest. >> We were signing petitions. You know when the cops like came out, we were like signing. >> I can't answer that. So, what happened to you guys after video footage? >> Dude, no. I got hit I got hit by like two big ass [ __ ] like way bigger than my size and he came up to me. I really don't care. I will go to court. He's taking power to hold because I didn't think I >> did. What is my little ass going to do? I had two three drinks literally. Literally, I've done nothing and I admit to him. I'm like, "Sorry, >> you get to go out for now." >> I'm sorry. Big girls are hitting on me. What do I do? Defend myself or not? And I asked them to get the video footage. >> I will. No, I'll fight. Whatever I have to do, I don't care. >> Number 1066. >> Yeah. >> My friends who are right next to me do the exact same didn't get arrested but I did >> it was the difference my friends >> ask a question took the powder to his head >> and it will be the ground I ask you something sir >> officer please can My friends that were with me that did the exact same thing. Why might any of them rest on pause? Admit to what? How am I supposed to be a woman >> and protect myself? How am I supposed to do that with a drunk man? Okay. How is it? How am I supposed to protect myself if a drunk man is in my face yelling at me? >> Do you have any video proof or not? Any sir, I'm not trying to be aggressive. >> No, no, no, no, no. >> Wait. No, we know the reason why I'm here. >> You know what? No, it's not. It's not. >> I want I'm trying to understand and get you guys to also understand. You guys are playing me like I'm dumb and I can't wait for this to get in front of you envelope and get your envelope level. >> I don't care for that. I do not care for that. I am 23 years old. But you're not leaving here until you're blowing. >> That is the matter. I'm standing on the point of why I'm here because you're intoxicated. >> No. No. There is an aggravation. >> I'm trying. >> You need to stop cuz seriously, you're about to go on a holding cell. >> But if you don't want to be put up by yourself, you need to stop down. What's your name? >> Sweetie. >> What's your name? I can get your paper, get your name, but you got to answer questions first before you get out and get your paperwork. the best charge they can never give out. >> No, [laughter] I'll be okay. >> And I truly >> Sometimes your son can get you out of here. >> Okay. >> It's not even that. I cry a lot. I understand that >> but I just sleep wake up together now. Megan said, "I [music] guess at the time I thought I was okay, then I started drinking, whatever. Went to jail, and that [music] was really embarrassing itself. That was already a low point." 2 months after this night, a verified Facebook page with 1.7 million followers took [music] that mug shot and attached a completely false story to it. Before it was removed, it had over 100,000 comments and millions [music] of views. Not a viral bread stick attack, not a restaurant meltdown, just a college student on [music] one of the worst nights of a very hard year. The assault charge was dropped and she was released with her first misdemeanor [music] charge of public intoxication. [music] [music] >> [music]
