Did they throw you to the ground? >> I don't even remember. >> Who was it though? Which one was it? >> Um >> it was both of them. It doesn't matter. I just I just want them to be gone. I don't want anything to happen. I just want them to be gone. >> Okay. So, they both Where' they hit you in the face at right there? >> I don't want anything to be done. I just want them to be gone. >> Okay. >> And I want my phone back from him. >> Who's got your phone? >> My middle. Okay. >> And I got my phone. >> All right. Hang tight right here. Here. Hang tight right here for me. What you pushing? >> Statements from family members indicate the argument escalated over alcohol use, yelling, and physical crowding with pushing back and forth. >> I got to go get the Can you have my phone from him, please? >> Hey, grab the phone from him. >> I don't have a phone. >> Yes, he did have my phone. No, he took it from me. He's lying. >> Phone? What are you talking about? >> No, he's lying. He's lying. >> He's lying. He is lying. >> Okay. Last name. >> He took my phone. I told my girlfriend he was going to beat the [ __ ] out of me. >> Is your boyfriend here right now? >> No. >> He never comes here. >> And then flipping me off >> just now. >> And he has my phone. Essie did have my phone. And he told my boyfriend he was going to beat his ass. >> Okay. >> And he took his phone from me. I've asked his dad for months to take her in text messages. And this is how they both were the last time in the police record. >> And I didn't have the money to pay for money caught. >> I got it. >> I got it. I'll go get it. Just give me a second. >> I'm not dressing in that room right now. >> Okay. Just give me a second. I'll go get it. Just give me a second. Wait till we figure this out. >> I took him for surgery this morning. >> All right. Then you ain't going to get it. >> You can't tell me if I can. No one. >> Yeah, I can. This is an investigation. >> I didn't I'm not I didn't do nothing wrong. That's fine. >> Yeah, you said yes. If you can get the golf where's it at? >> Hold on. Hold on. You see the There going to be a bed. Then there's a dresser right next to the bed. It's It's It's right on top next to the tissue. >> Okay, I got it. We'll figure it out. Hey, there's three packages on that tissue, but they're all empty. So, I want to make sure. >> Oh, they're empty. >> I know he was. >> That's what I want. if he needs them. That's what I need to figure out. >> They're all empty. >> They're empty. I That's where he described >> those and put them on like when he was laying down when he got home from surgery. >> Mhm. >> Um I had gone to Walmart to get his medicine and get his medication and get all the gauze cuz he used all the gauze on the way home and I had pulled over two times, three times on the way home because he was just bleeding and freaking out. And so then I went and I had an interview at Anglewood Hospital. Is the gauze somewhere else for him? >> There's more gauze. Yes. >> Where at? >> In my room. >> Okay, let's go get it. >> Do you want me to show you where that is? >> Doc. >> Yeah, I got some looks like there could be some damage. >> Okay. Marks right there. It's going to line up with that. But just look up here. So, >> but there's no marks. There's no marks on this. >> No, but it's that points out. Yeah, but there's no there's not even there's not even scuff marks on it. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. No, >> there's I just need them. >> You have my phone. >> Officers note no visible injuries on anyone and review video recorded by the teens which shows verbal escalation but no clear assault by the kids. first, but they're both screaming, pushing, and throwing things at each other. She does not know who started it, though. >> Which which the kids or >> Yeah, the kids and mom. >> They were all doing it back and forth each other. So, she was pushing there. They were pushing her, throwing stuff back and forth. >> Let me see your face again. Where were you hit at? >> Right there. >> Mhm. >> Okay. >> I don't want any charges. >> Do you feel like Do you feel like you're injured at all? Cuz I'm not really seeing anything. No, I mean he just hit me and then my young threw me to the ground. I just I I can't deal with this anymore and I have to talk. >> So you said you said he smacked you? >> Yeah, he did. My mom saw it and then the other one threw me to the ground and he pushed me to the ground. >> Pushed you to the ground? >> Okay. >> I don't want anything done. I just >> get a statement. >> No, I haven't been that far. I'm trying to figure out what happened. >> There's been a couple police statements here. I mean >> I don't think she's going to even give me one. Um, >> all right. Do you want to provide a statement as to what happened tonight? >> I just wanted and I just I just want them to go. I >> I understand that they live here though. They live here. >> Well, my oldest doesn't. >> Okay. Well, >> my 17-year-old does. And um >> is that the guy in the white? Is that the kid in the white? >> Yeah. And um so what happened is I got in a divorce with my husband. >> Okay. I put money down and my mom financed the rest of my house. >> Okay. >> So, I'm attendant >> to get you back on your feet. >> Yes. >> One teen explains that the conflict began after they confronted their mother about drinking. Alcohol containers are shown as evidence. >> What they had to say, like I said, grandma said they were going both back and forth, but she doesn't know who started. >> Yeah, cuz apparent mom said she's missing a two that was in one of her cabinets. So, I just want to make sure these two are hated real well and not just left around. So, says there's a gun in the second drawer and the gun's not there now. So that's what we're trying to figure out. You get all his information. >> I haven't got anybody's information yet. I'll do it though. >> Yeah, I So I called the police. I did. >> I got a a 3hour story been going on for 3 hours. >> Your first name. >> This all started when I was laying in my bed with her. Hear a big ass boom. I'm like, did she just hit the >> [ __ ] dog open the door and came out of that house? >> The what? Why are people so nosy? Like why is he even out here? It's got nothing to do with his >> police. >> So what's it called? So >> I don't know. >> Heard of And so I'm like, did she just hit the garage? And and I come out here and as we go see how her cars parked, the car park landed. So she hit the garage, backed out, and came back in. >> So I go in her room and I'm like, "Mom, how you been drinking?" And sorry, let me backtrack. I already told him I seen her bump into the thermostat and stumble. So I go in there. I'm like, "Mom, have you been drinking?" She's like, "No." I said, "Put it on Grandpa's grave that you haven't drank any liquor." She said, "I I swear to Grandpa's grave I drank no liquor." Go in her car, pull out a Walmart bag full of pink Whitney Shooters. Four of them are still cold. The other six are drinking. So I go in her room like, "Swa girl, you ain't been drinking right ain't drinking, right?" And I put it all on the bed. And then we're all just arguing, arguing. >> Officers review additional video and statements, concluding the mother repeatedly instigated confrontations and put hands on the teens. >> Arguing and so then I can't remember everything, but I do remember she pushed my so then we got our video. We're telling her so there's a video y'all can I don't remember what happened in the video. My sister is if the video is about what she was saying talking about how she wish she herself. Uh, I hope I right in front of you calling me a bad >> and so I'm walking out of her room and I'm like, "No, keep the door open." And she and she pushes me. I'm like, "What the is good with you, bro? If you push me again, I'mma knock your out cuz I'm trying to scare her hands off of me." >> So, I did say I would knock her out, but I ain't touch her that one time. So, knock me out then. Knock your mom out. Knock me out then. And Jada gets in between us and she's like, "Don't touch him. Don't touch him." And she pushes my sister. So I put my hand in her face. I said, "Don't touch my sister, bro. Stop pushing us." Then we all start arguing again. And we call my grandma to pull up. And then what's it called? So then we all just start arguing. Everyone's arguing, bro. I can't like This was going on for 3 hours, bro. I can't remember every detail. >> Everybody's been arguing. >> You want to provide statement as to what happened? >> Yeah, I will. >> Let me see that video. >> She's in bed. >> Yeah. >> And then here, if you go here. >> Okay. This is basically the argument. Yeah. >> Who is that? >> He don't have a shirt on. >> He's dead. She's got all the time. >> Always got to make sure his drugs are on. So in the beginning of the video, we were taking like her, her car keys, her wallet. >> So that's why the might be missing. >> Yeah, we took it so she wouldn't do anything to herself. >> Look at me. They tried to say I took it. >> No, somebody said the missing. So that's why I was looking at you for confirmation. >> That happened. That's what happened before cuz grandma tried to lie saying I stole the >> I never >> here. Oh my gosh. Two roars. >> A drinking problem. >> Yeah, >> Ben had a drinking problem. Officer, >> is there a hole in the garage as well, by the way? >> Yeah, that was here. That was me grabbing the telling him to take it. >> Take this. >> Who' you give it to? >> Okay. >> So, that was us grabbing the And then there's more shots in there. And then we were looking for her keys to try and >> Do you Do you have the video of her pushing? >> I don't think we got that one on film, but it's just the whole argument. >> It's just the argument. >> Yeah. >> I got I got up and she pushed you. >> It's okay. Hey, I like I like I like >> But it's okay. It's okay for your boyfriend to try to hit on me. I don't want you >> telling her own son that he's not going to graduate. That's a look. Here she goes. Get in my face. She Look at her. Look at her. You see that? Like that's all she does. She's not >> call racist to us, but we're the problem. >> Her car through the garage. She's drunk. Where are the shooters? >> That's all the alcohol talking. >> All in her room. >> Where are the shooters? >> And then this is just arguing. >> You're trying to defend. >> Arguing. Arguing. Arguing. >> Mind you, she's threatening to kick my six-year-old sister out. Mind you, they're three down. Say something to her. >> Now I know why you were so fired up when I heard her. >> You heard her. I tried to stop her two years ago. It's been It's been a problem. Let me stand behind her. >> Keep going. Let's see. Is there anywhere where she >> due to statements made on camera intoxication and child safety concerns, officers decided to arrest the mother and initiate a mental health hold. I >> mean, nothing like that's when we started recording. When she started putting her hands on us, that's when we that's when we started recording. >> Okay. There's no altercation. There's no physical on any of the videos. She doesn't have any injuries consistent with anything being physical. Nobody else has any injuries with anything being physical. She didn't make a direct threat. but or about the but she says on camera I'm going to myself they're they're all saying there was something but nobody has any injuries I say we baker we got her on video she's clear as day saying I want to do due to baker act problem is is I think we still have a domestic battery might have not have physical evidence >> it's not says that it was physical throwing things pushing each other >> but we also have video too and there's Nothing on video. >> Correct. Because they only recorded certain parts of it. >> You got a statement saying that they were battered. >> I have a statement from the daughter saying that mom pushed him. She got in between them. Then pushed her. >> Okay. >> The daughter created space. The mother got mom got in her face. He created space again as well. >> Is it a battery or is it a creating space issue? >> From what I understand, the older created space with push and push. >> Okay. So we have two batteries in >> as well as I mean you have that andor obviously you have it on camera her thing she wants so there's also the battery that's >> it could go baker or >> I would say bakerette with an open PC for domestic battery >> and then we'll do >> him as a victim. Oh, no. I take her back. 17 job. >> She's a child as well. She's a sophomore. >> The mother is taken into custody for child abuse, two counts, and transported for evaluation. Arrangements are made for the teens to stay with their father. >> He's already got a statement from him. >> So, you would have child abuse times, too. >> And I can't take a statement from her. So, she's too. >> You can arrest her and place her on the baker act. >> So, what he do? He could just arrest her and take her there. Well, what happens is the jail will process her in and then >> send her over anyway. >> Yeah. Both of them were sitting on the counter. She was in the bedroom. I come walking out. I see him see a freaking face sitting. I'm like, "Open it up." There's two on there. Both of them. >> Hey, do me a favor. >> Come here for me. >> Mhm. >> Put your hand on your back. >> Sure. What? >> I'm going to explain in just a second. I want to make sure. >> I want to make sure you don't fall first. >> No, I'm fine. I might want to go. >> Yes, you are. >> For what? >> Child abuse times two. >> I did it. And you're going to be you're going to be Baker acted because of your statements that you made on camera. Don't start causing a scene. >> I didn't do anything. >> Okay. >> I really >> That's not okay. Mom, they're taking me to jail. I don't understand. >> Well, due to your level of intoxication, I can't help them. >> Okay. Do you have anything on you that I need to know about guns? I have zucus, hand grenades, IDs, anything like that? >> Anything? Well, we got to >> I really didn't do anything. >> Okay. I'm going to use the back of your hand. Is it okay if I use the back of my hand to pat sound? Okay. Can I give your mom your >> Yes. That's a verbal. Yes. >> Okay. >> I know kids. They stay here. >> They're juveniles. We can't just leave my home without >> doesn't live here. Some of us live here and some of us want to take him. >> How old is he? >> I think he's 20ome, but we don't even know where he lives at. So, what we need to do is just find out tomorrow who she wants to have. >> Where do you want them to go? Can they stay here with the oldest one? >> No, absolutely not. >> Well, then where are they going to go? >> I mean, my oldest one moved out. Um, they can go to my mom's house. >> Mom doesn't want to take them. >> So, I'm going to call DCF and we're going to get the ball rolling on that. >> I mean, what's my only option? Like I can make a statement like I wasn't in the wrong. They both put hands on me first. >> Defending myself. >> Where's the old one live at? >> I honest I don't know where he's living at right now. I know sometimes he's at his dad's. >> Can they >> Can they go with him? >> With their dad. >> Yeah. >> Dad live at >> I mean he's never wanted them in the last 2 years. So I don't know. >> I'm off to Leo Blade in the apartments. >> Okay. Well, we got here's here's how it here's how it goes. >> Either we have to find them somewhere to go or if we don't find them somewhere to go, we got to call DCF and then they go into DCF's custody. >> Okay. Well, I'm I mean, I've been a director of preschools for all my life and I'm a foster parent by law. Um, >> that's asking the question, where are the kids going to go? >> I understand. Um, can I call their dad? >> But I don't understand why I'm going to jail when they put their hands on me first. I'll I'll just get a hold of him. >> There was an issue tonight at the house. Kylie is going to be going to jail. Is there any way the kids can come stay with you for the night? All right. Thanks, buddy. I appreciate it. >> He's on his way over to pick up the kids. >> You got to go with dad. >> Yeah, he's on the way. >> Yeah, I just got off the phone with him. I figured >> I was trying to get Yeah. >> I was I just said, "Hey, this is Raymond, not Terrence, right?" >> Yeah, it wasn't Terrence. >> Dad, too. >> Yes. These two have to come with me. >> Well, you're going with dad. Okay. >> Yeah, you're going with that. >> All right. >> Oh, that's all right. I >> officers secure the home locate car keys to prevent unsafe driving and document the ongoing family history of police involvement. >> Dad's going to come here and take possession of you guys. >> Oh, I get you. I get you. >> Got it. >> Got it. >> You live with dad, right? >> Uh I live with my girlfriend, bro. >> Mom was trying to explain to me and I was all confused. So, >> I want to listen to her. >> I'll tell you guys neglect. >> No. Uh to be honest, officer, this has been going on for a while. She Stop stop. >> She tried to she she he she got her arrest him arrested before cuz she tried to make up lies and she lit she literally like will hit herself and run into and create bruises on herself to make it look like he hit her and he he went to jail overnight for it and cuz the officer said something like since he's a minor they have to go whatever the mom says or something like it was something like that. >> He was like since he's a minor he has to they have to go what mom says and they can't listen to what he says. So he actually got sent to jail for that. But like he didn't need to. He would just >> Got you. >> She she she's crazy, bro. Like she needs help. He needs help. >> Uh sir, you think I'd be able to say something to her real quick or no? >> Good. Hang on one second. This is my issue with that. Not that I don't trust you. I don't want it to escalate the situation. >> No, I understand. That's why I trust you before. >> I appreciate that. Um I'm glad to see you calm down cuz you were a little when I first got here. >> I understand. I wasn't It's not because of me though. It's because how she treats them. Like me and her are guns. I don't want no relationship with her, but I care for them and how she treats them is not okay. not staying at my house, are they? >> They're going with dad. >> Okay. Um, if I made a state I'm just asking. If I made a statement, would it have been different? >> No. >> For I mean, I don't understand because they put on me. I didn't touch one of them. >> You have three independent people saying the same thing. And there's no video of it. There's no physical evidence. Okay. But you're on video saying you want to yourself. >> I know. >> I have three different people giving me the same story. Separated. Giving me the same story. And they both said they didn't put hands on me. >> Correct. >> So they're both they're all lying. >> I wasn't here. >> I know. But what did my mom say? I'm just saying because >> I don't know. I didn't talk to your mom. The other deputies did. >> That's just crazy. I was slapped. >> Mom says Mom says that you pushed your two kids. So >> you just said you didn't talk to my mom. >> Well, that's what they told me. I didn't direct talk to her, but that's what they told me. Your mom said, >> "Yeah, my mom didn't say that." >> Here's what I'm concerned about. >> Uhhuh. >> The younger son has been known to take her car in the middle of the night and go joy riding and follow his girlfriend home to make sure she gets home safe. He does not have a license. >> Okay. So, I would like the keys, so he can't take the car. >> That's up to mom. >> Okay. >> Mom's residence, not yours. >> Okay. Do you want him? >> Can we ask her? Can we ask her? >> Yeah, he can transport. >> Can we ask her if I can have the keys? >> Yes, I will do that right now. >> Does my mom have my phone? Where's your car keys at? Your phone's going with you to jail. Where's your car keys at? >> Um I usually >> I'm going to give your car keys to your mom so your son doesn't enjoy a ride while you're in jail. >> Um they're usually inside my pillow. >> Inside your pillow? >> Yeah, that's where I have to keep them. >> Okay. >> Because he steals my car all the time. >> You go in there. >> Go find the keys. I don't know where they are. >> The mother was arrested on two counts of child abuse and placed under a mental health hold based on intoxication. corroborated statements from multiple witnesses and recorded evidence showing her as the primary aggressor. Remember, alcoholfueled domestic conflicts often escalate quickly and can reverse who is seen as the [music] victim. When minors are involved, police prioritize child safety over family disputes or conflicting stories. This is the reaction of netisonens to this situation. Those kids stayed way calmer than most adults would in that situation. Body cam and video evidence completely changed how this case went. This is a hard watch, but I'm glad the teens were protected. I think this situation was already intense. The body cam catches a split-second decision that changes everything. Comment if you saw it coming. The next incident is when mom involved in hit and run acts like she did nothing wrong. >> I have my baby. Did you hit him with the car? >> I didn't hit nobody with the car. I feel unsafe. >> No. No. No. No. I'm not. I'm not being resistant because this is some [ __ ] I swear to God, I hate this town. >> On May 12th, 2023, officers responded to a reported hit and run involving a vehicle matching the woman's car. She states she feels unsafe and denies striking anyone. >> All right. Do you have your driver's license with you, ma'am? >> Like I said, ma'am, I'm officer Harris with the city of C. You tell me what's going on. >> So, I'm ominous officer's responding to a hit and run that happened. >> Okay. >> All right. and they gave the description of your car. >> Okay. Well, I have a video of them chasing me down with my son in the car. So, what happened was I'm waiting to pull up because that's the reason I was over there. So, what they did was they they they stood by my car. >> Whoever um You'll be quiet. So, they I took my friend over there. >> Do you know where you're at? >> On Ridge. >> You're on Ridge. >> I took my friend over there. So, because she said that she just got out of jail. She said that she just got out of jail. She asked I was upstairs sleeping. She asked me to take her over there to go get her baby because she said that he wouldn't give her back her car and he wouldn't give her her child. >> Okay. >> So, I said, "Okay, I'll take you over there to get your baby." But I said, "I don't want no problems. I don't know what y'all got going on. You want to do the ride and want to get out and that's it." So, they stood by my car as if she was about to open my car door. My son is in the back seat. >> She was about to Who's about to get in your car? >> She was trying to get in my car. I locked my I went my thing. Yes, she was trying to open my car door and she stood right here. >> She states she swerved to avoid the person, insists no contact occurred, and emphasizes her child's safety. Officers request identification and ask to see any video. >> And then she walked right here like as if she was going to open my car door. So I said, "What's wrong with y'all?" Like, "Y'all beef is not with me." Whatever. Y'all have nothing to do with that. So, I pulled off and they he jumped in front of my car and I swerve the other way. >> Which way did you swerve? Officers gather names and statements while another involved adult provides a separate account of the dispute over a car and child at the original scene. >> That's because I have a video with them >> following me after the situation left me so I feel unsafe. That's why I'm sitting in my car. I'm glad y'all did pull up cuz I'm they follow me all the way down here. I have a video. >> All right. So, I'm going to take your driver's license. Okay. And what you can do is you have your video on your phone, correct? >> All right. So, why don't you look at your phone? >> I don't I left my purse at the house. >> Okay. I'll just get your information. Okay. When you go through your phone, just show the officer here the video. >> It's right here. >> Okay. What's your last name? >> Richards. R I C H A R D. This is ridiculous. This is why I should have just stayed in the house and told her to handle her own stuff because now they're they're like, "Where's you're involved in something?" >> Exactly. Today I'm going to have to ask you to step out of the vehicle. >> Why? >> So, from what I was being told by the officer on the other scene is that there's probable cause for your arrest. >> How is there possible cause? >> The driver locks the car and declines commands to step out. Officers warned that force may be used if she does not comply and request a supervisor. >> That's what they're going to deal with. Okay. But right now, I'm being informed that you can be arrested. Not going to >> I'm calling somebody to come get my son. >> We have a sergeant coming over here to talk to you. >> Okay, that's fine. Officers cited information from the original scene indicating a vehicle-related assault allegation and the presence of a child during the incident. Remember, conflicting witness statements and scene information can lead officers to act on probable cause even when a driver disputes events. Refusing lawful commands can escalate encounters and add additional enforcement actions. This is the reaction of netizens to this situation. This shows how fast a situation can escalate when stories don't match. Having a child present [music] makes these calls especially complicated. Once probable cause is decided. Come on over here for a minute. >> Like 13-year-olds can watch the children right now. >> I'm not going to. >> Okay. So, >> I don't live here. I live in Cincinnati. I don't know. >> An officer explains to family members that under Florida law, leaving young children unattended in a public area near the ocean qualifies as felony child neglect. >> We just showed up. We were late coming. Okay. We were >> So, you guys are all together? We're all together? >> We were supposed to have a nice beach day. >> Okay. Let's let's use some common sense here, right? We're all adults. >> Yes. >> Where in anybody's right mind would you leave a 2-year-old and a six-year-old unattended? [music] Don't speak until I'm done. >> Cuz this is really >> Would you leave your kids unattended? Would you drop them off here knowing that there's tourists that come through [music] here, we don't know who comes through here. It's a public place. Anybody could snatch those kids and walk off cuz nobody knows who they are or who they belong to. >> Mhm. >> And just leave them here to go park a car for more than 15 minutes. Who in their right mind would do that? Would you do that for your kids? >> I would not. >> Okay, >> I'll let you continue. >> All right. So, under Florida statute laws, that's a felony. Okay. It's endangering the welfare of a child and leaving unattended and unsupervised. Then they walk walk to the water where thankfully these good people grabbed the 2-year-old and stopped them. And the excuse that I get from the >> officers gather witness statements, note that bystanders had to intervene to prevent a child from entering the water and confirm jail transport >> is, well, they can swim better than me. So that's basically telling me you don't care if your 2-year-old goes into the ocean. I can swim real good, too. But I would just I mean [music] let's use some common sense here for that. >> Okay. So so that is >> let me say this. >> Okay. My sister and her husband are currently separated. They are going through a divorce. They are used to coming here together with the kids. He was coming here today. >> Where were you when when she dropped the kids off? Were you with her? >> We were we were running late. >> So you weren't with her? >> Not here. We were in our own vehicle. >> Okay. Don't you think it'd be appropriate if your sister would have said, "Hey, let's wait for you to get here. When you get here, can you keep an eye on the kids? I'm going to try to find a parking spot." And vice versa. >> Sure. No. And I'm not I'm not disagreeing with that. Okay. >> I've now heard five different times of how long these children were left. And I understand that 2 minutes is too long. I I [music] understand that. So, I've heard 15 minutes. I've heard >> I don't want to know what you heard from them. I want you to swung talk to me in reference to >> how long how long did you know that the children were left unattended >> for well over 20 minutes and I'll take witness statements and make your sister has the right in court. >> Sure. >> She's an attorney, right? So, [music] um >> so I've heard I've heard like five different times. >> I know. But that's >> I understand that. I understand. >> I leave it unattended for 5 minutes. I >> I completely I completely agree with you. I completely agree with you. >> I mean, look at that little girl. That little girl has been running off all over the place since I got here. Yeah. >> And no other stranger should be trying to restrain that little girl. Could be your family or a parent. >> I Well, understand, >> you know, stupidity and lack of common sense when you don't [music] that little girl could have walked off into the road. Somebody could have drove and ran her over. All kinds of things. [music] >> She's my niece. So, I I'm fully aware and I fully agree with you. >> And as parents and family members, our number one priority is to keep the safety of our children. >> Understood. >> Okay. And when you have something like that, >> we are down here visiting because >> I can't turn a blind eye to it. >> Yeah, I understand. We were right. So, let me ask you this. So, [music] we're right behind them, right? Trying to get here as fast as we can, but then the speed limits and things like that, right? >> See, they were left here for fun. >> Is there anything we [music] could do to ask for anything? >> The the only thing you can do is we can get her rollerblades off and get some kind of better footwear on her. >> Okay. She's already in cups. >> And she's already in the backseat of my car. Why is she in the back? Why she >> be arrested? >> Okay, you do see that we're right here. Like Sarah, I'm I really am asking and that story that she told is a real story that she her now ex or soon to be ex-husband is it doesn't matter. You don't leave kids unattended. [music] That's point blank. Let's let's let's stick with the facts. The fact is he dropped them off unattended and left them alone. [music] Thank God these people somebody woke up and said, "Wait, these this little girl is unattended." >> The mother is prepared for transport to jail. Family members continue discussions with officers and the incident concludes with charges summarized. >> Thank God I'm not going through a [music] drowning right now. Right. >> Yeah. >> Okay. So, that that's where we're at with this. You're going to take care of the kids. >> Okay. She's going to go to Penelis County Jail. >> My sister. >> Yeah. She's Can you Do you have proper cookware for her >> that we can get the sandals, anything. So we he's not rollerblading into the jail. >> I mean, we'll do that at least. So, I'll have you go over there and talk to her. >> Okay, >> listen. Listen to me. Your sister's going to help you with the roller blades. Take them off. >> Please don't do this. I'm just getting my like my life is just going okay now. Like, what do you want to just take them off? >> Sir, please. Please, please, sir. Please. I'll like sir, I'll do anything. Please, please, please, sir. Like, I'll I thought it was going to be racing. >> And you know what? And the other thing is, help me understand something. Okay, I'm going to take these sunglasses off your head. Okay, help me understand something. You were parking a car in Rollerblades. You were trying to find a parking spot in Roller Blades. >> No, I parked the car and then I rollerblade here. So, that's what I do. And then, and then so last week, how far did you park the car? >> I parked the car over there at 71st. And like >> where's the car? >> It's a few blocks away. >> Okay. And and but last week when I did there and I put her all I put her all in there that the both kids were in there. Tori took a thing and she like jammed it in the the wheel and I flipped it. So that's what I was thinking. I was thinking like okay last week it was so horrible and SHE WAS SO BAD. They'll just stand here for 2 seconds. I'm going to play. I'll be right back. >> These are not mine but they're mine. Please like sir we know everybody here. I was like go right to volleyball. Go right to the things THEY KNOW EVERYBODY THERE. I'M ON the league. >> Then you should have had somebody monitor. >> You're right. I absolutely should have, but I thought they were going to be here quicker. I thought my husband was going to be here quicker. I thought everything was going to be like that, sir. It was just a minute. Please, sir, please don't do this to me. I'm going to lose my house. I'm going to lose my job. I'm going to lose everything. >> You want to take >> Please, sir. I just left my husband. I don't even know. I don't have prescription glasses. My hands are tied. I have to do my job. >> I understand. Yeah. >> At the end of the day, my heart goes out to her. Yeah, >> but I can't turn around and >> but I'm saying like I mean her friends are coming up to us and going like oh my god I'm so sorry like the other kids are right here. >> It doesn't matter but those other kids are watched by their parents and they're so we can't what if you know we got to think about the safety of our kids. It's bad enough as everything else you know >> I feel like this is all our problem. >> I mean I understand she says that she's been an alcoholic for 25 years. She got sober for 2 years. I hope she continues that cuz that's important. you know, disclosed on a house and stuff. >> That's not That's some >> We don't know. It It may hopefully maybe it's not. Maybe it's some treatment program. Maybe it's a child uh treatment program and stuff like that. >> Yeah. Were you watching? Were you Were you the ones watching? >> I was not. Oh, >> sorry. >> Yeah. But can you speak on >> Can you speak on behalf of Pat that that they come They come every week. >> She's here every week. >> They come every week. There are other children out here that usually watch. You all tend to try to keep an eye on. >> These are our friends. These are our friends from Williams. >> Please don't do this. >> What the heck? I'm not doing anything. Please. This is so crazy. >> Patty's just policy. Okay. That's how it is. All right. It's not anything doing [laughter] directly to you. Okay. The woman was charged with two counts of neglect of a dependent after officers determined her 2-year-old and six-year-old children were left unattended near the ocean for an extended period. Officers stated that witnesses observed the children unsupervised and approaching the water, prompting interventions. Remember, leaving young children unattended in public places can create serious safety risks. [music] Regardless of familiarity with the environment, officers are required to act based on observed conditions and reported timelines, even when family members are nearby. This is the reaction of netzens to this [music] situation. I can see how fast things escalated once the kids were found alone. This shows how quickly a situation at a beach can turn serious. Tough situation all around, but safety rules are strict for a [music] reason. The tension is already high, or so it seems. What the body cam captures next saves a life pause and comment what you do here. >> Pin foil there, brown all over your nose and wrist. >> I mean, I don't feel comfortable going. >> Okay. Well, not too bad. We're going to stand up and go with cuffs. >> Huh? >> We're going to go and stand up. I don't care. I don't care how comfortable you feel or not feel. On March 27th, 2023, officers responded to a 911 call made by a child reporting that his mother was unresponsive behind a locked bathroom door for several hours. >> You're married. >> You okay? >> Ma'am, she's moving. >> She's responsive after I kick the door in. >> Yeah. Hello. >> Police Department of Fire. >> Can you move? >> Okay. >> Drawers in the way. Y'all got better tools than I do. >> Yeah. >> Police and fire force entry and find the mother semi-conscious on the bathroom floor while her children wait outside crying, believing she may be dead. Is >> that her right there? Yeah, that's her. Yeah, she's getting smashed. >> Cut her leg or something. >> Anybody got uh anything smashed against real quick? >> Nothing in here that's heavy enough to do that. >> Hi. >> You've been drinking. You've been doing drugs. >> 39. She's semi alert. Uh fire work with her. We will need him. So, never mind there. 97 up top. >> So you have your tin foil there. Brown all over your nose and wrist. >> Hey, how about we be some honest here since we got kiddos that called us and you're over here passed out. >> It is ridiculous. You're leaving kids. >> Officers observe aluminum foil powder residue and physical signs consistent with drug use. confronting the mother about leaving the children unattended. >> Unattended while you're over here getting your little high fix. That That is ridiculous. So, let's work with them and try to help some things out. You got any idea, man? >> What? >> Identification. That's why >> I do have Okay. This is ridiculous. >> It is. It sure is. >> Has nothing to do with me and my dad? >> Actually, it does. You're the one that called 911. >> They called 911. >> The kids that were here, they're outside now crying cuz they thought you were dead. >> What? Yeah, that's what >> Oh my gosh. >> What's your last name? >> My last name is Weber. Has nothing to do with >> The mother denies intentional drug use, claiming her ex-boyfriend hid narcotics in her prescription bottle without her knowledge. >> Me and M. >> What's your first name, Miss Weber? >> My name is Ashley. >> How you spell that for me? >> S H L E Y. So, who called >> your kids or somebody's kids over here? The young child. What's your date of birth, Ashley? >> All right. I'm telling you, the cops came in. We spoke with them earlier. And we explained all this to him to the police, the actual policeman. He apparently did drugs. And the lady that is over these apartments, which is my best friend's mother-in-law, um is a judge. And we explained all this to her. Like she was here. They had all this done. >> Okay. But let's let's focus let's focus on >> Please again, can you shut that door? Um, I the neighbors has been nothing besides crazy since because and that was because the people that own here apparently it was a big old drug house before I got here and I was not aware of that. >> I'm just trying to figure out why there's aluminum foil in the bathroom >> and I was just in the bathroom and apparently that's where he done that right up in that shelf. So, or not the shelf the ceiling. Like I literally just took my medicine and was getting ready to take a shower and get my kids. >> How did he do it in there? And how were you not able to leave the bathroom, >> sir? I just got here. We was starting to clean everything to get out. The next thing I know, I was I took my medicine. >> Exact. Do you not hear what I'm telling? >> How How did he just leave you passed out in the bathroom? >> Sir, he was not here. The cops just picked him up. The cops just got him within him not functioning or not functioning with them or anything. I literally opened the door, took It's a Jared name on there. >> So, when when was you taken away today? >> Uh, went on 1 2:00. >> We We got here like maybe 20 minutes ago. And whenever we got here, you were pass. >> Are you not hearing what I said? >> But you were unconscious. >> I just took my medicine, went to the bathroom to pee. >> My It was I take it three times a day. Apparently, that's where he had his medicine baldled up in that with a foil. a uh >> bag or whatever. I was literally on the pot sitting there within the time and then the next thing I know I was in the floor and this has happened. >> So, I mean I I can't tell you exactly. Um I was not willingly taking no medicine. >> Officers explained that regardless of intent, the children were left unsupervised while she was incapacitated, triggering the emergency call. Um, I was on the phone with my friend and I told her I was going to call him to work because all this crazy stuff has happened. Um, all he the owner could say was there was this Mexican that stayed here. Um, and that was it was hell getting him out. I was not aware of any of this until um all this started happening with the landlord and them were the HOAs. And like I said once again um the lady was literally a uh judge like that's what she is a retired judge. So her daughter-in-law has went to prison all this crap and she was my best friend. Um I was not aware that this do this place was hot. My dad passed away went through a divorce and they offered to start renting this team um within the month and I thought it was just a good idea to start up here start working at Mercy Hospital and just going from there. So >> 1054 >> you can look at my you can look at my veins or all this crap. Um like literally it just happened. >> So like what happened when I got back >> like I got back uh the door was locked. I was getting ready to take a shower. The next thing I know I woke up to this. So what h like someone called my kids called what? Like we was getting ready to take a shower. I was getting them ready. we've done homework and we're going to just grab something from the Mexican restaurant at the mall or if they're out of here base or whatever. >> Well, according to the notes that I saw when we got dispatched here >> Mhm. >> and from what I've gathered from us being here, you weren't able to let yourself out of the bathroom. In fact, you were slumped up in the bathroom and you weren't able to open the door. And then the kids got upset and called 911 cuz they were concerned about >> the mother becomes defensive, disputes police authority and repeatedly shifts blame to neighbors, landlords, and her ex-boyfriend. >> Anyone have to even close my suspicious activity. >> Is it that strong whatever he had in that bottle? Like that was all clipped up in mine for you to just be on my medicine and me take it and be whatever happened. Is it that strong to do? Like I I don't know exactly what was in the bottle besides of what I heard y'all say. >> Shouldn't make you pass out. >> Not my medicine. I'm saying the substance powder stuff that was on my medicine in the bottle. >> Remember what the powder was. >> They said it was fentanyl. That's what he was on. >> Well, if it was fentanyl, you wouldn't be breathing right now. This would be a whole different situation. >> That's what he did. So it was powder form. He done got it right down here from the people above down below where there are drug sellers at all. >> So is that what you took? >> Huh? >> Is that what you took? >> Sir, I didn't take it. Will did you not just hear what I said? >> No, I walked in after the fact. >> Can you not yell at me? I'm just asking. >> So don't don't give me attitude either. Okay. I walked in after the fact. I don't I don't I I just showed up. Okay. All I know is you were passed out. That's all I know. >> Okay. Medical staff urge hospital evaluation, but she refuses unless child care arrangements are made. >> The rest of the story, we can talk because we're not going to I'm not just keep your house shut then. Okay. >> We're not we're not talking. I'm not asking you any questions or anything. >> Excuse me. I can talk. This is my house. >> All right. >> And actually, um, could you step outside because you can sit outside unless you have a warrant. You're not supposed to. >> I I have a legal reason to be here. Okay. Well, like I said, my mom my mom is a judge. >> That's fine. This is this is recorded, so that's fine. >> That is completely fine. There's no need for you to trick me like I'm a drug addict. I just got the guy out of here that was good. >> So, you do not have to be disrespectful and neither do I. >> Okay. >> Um, who am I speaking with? Are you the paramedic? >> Okay. Um, can I get a shirt on? Because I do not like treat been treated by this officer like I am some freaking drug. Like I have no clue who he is and he's not going to come here and disrespect me in my home because he's a nothing. But he's not going to sit here and act like this to me in my own. >> This is ridiculous. >> Can we do a few more questions? Get it over with. Get a shirt on and get everything over. >> He can. But he's not going to treat me like I'm an LPN to at Mercy Hospital. Like >> what's your first and last name for me? >> My name is Ashley Weber. >> Okay. Yes. Kelly. >> Yes, sir. >> Yes. >> How do y'all work? Do y'all work like us? >> And where have children are? >> Oh, we all work here. >> So, this whole story is just I mean we had to protect that, but we were here. You know, >> we work so all of us that are on right now, we work 14 hours. >> We work 23rd. >> She admits passing out after taking medication, but continues to deny responsibility despite evidence and statements from responding officers. >> I drove here from >> You really need to go to the hospital. Well, I don't I'm not I don't want to unless my mom was here for my kids. I do not. I literally checked my medicine. That's why the guy that was here this morning went to jail because he has been doing um dental or boxes, whatever it is, from the neighbors downstairs. Um so it was not willingly me taking this medicine. It was in my medicine bottle and his was a powder form that was on my medicine, I guess. So, no longer than me coming in, taking my medicine, going to the bathroom, getting ready to take a shower. Um, apparently I was passed out. >> All righty. We got to do one more step since you won't go to the hospital. We're going to have to talk to our medical director. Can you talk to him real quick? >> Yes, sis. >> All right. Thank you. Are you there? >> Yeah. Go ahead. >> So, how long you live here again? What did you say? a couple months. >> I'm sorry. No, I just moved. We got here in August. >> In August? >> Yes. And everything was fine. And with the per with the path of that, um, my now ex-boyfriend was working at this liquor store up here. Um, and so it was a big old deal of the neighbors or the people that owns here is my they lived here in the past and she went to drug court. She's been to prison all that. My dad passed away. I went out of a 30year marriage. So anyways, I work night my 24-hour shift. And apparently in the process of these me working and him working these hours up here, he was messing with these people down here that literally stealth and all um and the girls pregnant too. And anyways, all this was happening when I was at work. Come to find out, I found out everything that happened and started kicking him out with the cops. Police clarify safety concerns and the seriousness of the situation involving drug exposure and child endangerment. >> He was turned in. Um they knocked on the door this morning. I will let him get for him. So >> So he's in jail now, right? It sounds today. >> Yes. And it's not for something he did. I guess they have a hold on him. He has um 10 business days to let Oklahoma City or not Oklahoma City, Sequoia County come and get him from Oklahoma City. He had it all like in this bottle in uh within the hole. He had it all like >> my hole in my medicine >> to apparently I guess to hide what he said. I'm literally clueless when it comes to medicine. I don't know until I started the people that did live here. They said if we find any drugs or whatever um it is from them and they said they had it hid in that wall right there. >> Is that that's where you had it? No, they said that's where they always their drugs. Okay. Right there. >> See that thing that comes up. >> Yeah. >> So anyways, um it was all and all that happened and I guess that's where he was signed to. So when I figured out all this stuff, I said I would not allow this around my children and was in the process of kicking him out and then he kind of flipped [ __ ] and was like almost to the process of like um I wouldn't say uh hold it like he would let me go as long as he was with me if that makes any sense at all. Like I would rather I'd be able to go through my day as long as he was there. So anyways, after I get literally went to get something, he put the $10 in gas and came back here to take my medicine. And I was so thankful the whole box and used that drawer right there. The far drawer >> over here. >> Yes. What he used? >> What's his name again? >> Michael, like he's never been in trouble up here or anything until this happened. And then the people downstairs and Daniel and Lacy, I don't know Daniel's last name, but I do know he ate me because he offered him more than once. >> More cuz we had a dog that which is my mom's now. But every time we go walk the dog, he was out there >> on working on his uh I don't even know. It's a silver SUV type thing. I couldn't tell you. But he would be up there till like 3:00 in the morning. And um every time that he would be in contact with Mikey, it was over drugs. It was overall until finally I caught him flip [ __ ] and um that's why he's out. But he was using my medicine bottles to put his stuff in gone completely, which is not a big deal to me. Like I don't take him every day. Literally as needed. And it was usually like if I needed it was the time to be like when I came home to go to sleep. And it was an everyday use. This all happened like I came home, took my medicine, was getting ready to take a shower and packing. You see the boxes packing his stuff and then I guess this happened. >> Officers detain and arrest her after determining the children were neglected due to her incapacitation. >> Do right now, what we're what we are going to do right now actually is you and I are going to go downstairs. Okay. Um I'm going to have you sit in my car while we get while I speak to other officers and see what what we're going to do. Okay. Obviously, we need to make arrangements for like he said, you know, he'd like another adult to be here with your kids, you know, concerns and all these things. Okay. Now, for you to sit in my car, you you will be in cuffs in my car. Okay. You can't sit in the backseat of my car without without cuffs. Okay. Per policy. Excuse me. >> Can y'all not come in here and sit with me? I'm not >> No, we'll have to go down there. Okay. And and and your kids are down there. I mean, I'm not going to do I'm not going to cuff you in front of your kids, you know, but I'll I'll I'll I'll have you sit on my car and your kids I I said I saw them when I came up here, but I don't know exactly where they're at downstairs. Okay. Um >> Um I mean, I don't feel comfortable going. >> Okay. Well, not too bad. We're going to stand up and cuffs. >> Huh? >> We're going to go and stand up. I don't care. We're I don't care how comfortable you feel or not feel. >> We're standing up. >> Okay. Okay. I mean, what am I going to What is going to look like as far as Can y'all explain to me what I'm getting? Like am I going to jail or for or what? >> Child neglect. >> Cuz I took my medicine and it had been Are you serious? >> 100% serious. >> This is not okay. >> You admitted to him. >> That was in your hand. >> I did not admit to that. That was a lie. I told y'all that he just went to jail this morning. >> This is ridiculous. Oh my god. Sir, please do not be rude to me. I don't know. >> I'm not. I pulled right I You want me to be rude? I could have left pulled you in front of your kids. I pulled over here so your kids not seeing handicing what y'all's doing. >> I just told you you're going to jail. >> This is ridiculous. Like y'all are sitting there saying this and it has to do with him and his fel powder was on my medicine from the people downstairs. >> You smoke your pills, huh? I don't smoke my pill like y'all are not listening to. >> Okay. Well, I was there when I kicked in the door >> and I opened it all in. >> They did not. You did not. >> I didn't let you. >> Fire. Fire tore the door off the hinges. >> I'm talking about this morning. >> We weren't here this morning. This is this afternoon. >> Oh my god. This is ridiculous. Like you're sitting here saying I said I smoke my deal. That was not said either. >> Well, >> that was not like what the [ __ ] >> you know. Anything inside your body or inside your cavities or anything like that? >> No drugs hidden up inside your body. >> I have a nurse. No, I don't. >> Check. Make sure you drop anything back there. We'll go this way. Oh, she's staying in front on the off chance she threw up or not. >> Ashley Weber, 35, was arrested and booked on two counts of child neglect. She also had an outstanding warrant from Cherokee County for neglect of a family member. Bond was set at a 100 on thousands. Remember, children should never be placed in a position where they must call 911 to save a parent. Regardless of intent, being incapacitated by drugs or substances while caring for children can lead to criminal charges. This is the reaction of nizens to this situation. Those kids were terrified. That's the part people keep ignoring. Excuses don't change the fact that the children were alone and scared. Blaming everyone else doesn't undo child neglect. Think this situation was already intense. The body cam catches a split-second decision that changes everything. Comment if you saw it coming. >> You can't smoke with a kid in the car. >> Okay, I don't really know the law. >> He was in there when I was smoking, but I I honestly didn't know nothing about >> Well, I mean, that's bad enough, but >> don't make it stink. >> Well, technically it is. >> It's not. >> Whoever wants me to go. On August 27th, 20-23, officers address a situation involving smoking inside a parked vehicle while a young child was present, emphasizing safety and legality concerns. >> But anyway, she uh >> she messaged me right after I got >> Hey, Ashley. >> Hey, >> Sergeant Hogan Police Department. >> What's going on? >> Nothing. >> Well, we got to call people going. The mother acknowledges smoking but states she was unaware it could be an issue with a child nearby and cooperates with officers >> in the car with a baby >> they're setting I mean yes sir >> I got a blunt in my hand >> I know you've been I know you smoking >> I mean we've been setting out >> no I'm not trying >> like I have a blunt I mean we just come out Yeah. >> Okay. >> You got anything on? >> You can't smoke with a kid in the car. >> Okay. I don't really know the law, honestly. >> Not with I don't >> Well, any smoke cigarettes or >> Yeah. >> I didn't know that. Yeah. >> I didn't know that, honestly. >> Yes. You got in your little purse there. >> Just Just be honest with me. >> No, I don't. >> You don't? >> I don't. No, you can look. >> Okay. Do you have any at all on you? >> I don't. I don't. >> Okay. >> Officers inspect the vehicle and nearby items while maintaining a calm conversation focused on responsibility and awareness. >> Any anywhere else in the car besides that? Did y'all already smoke at all? >> There's nothing else in there. You can search. >> How old your kid? >> 15 months old. >> 15. >> So you said you got to call what? called two people doing drug. >> Few people doing drugs. >> Yeah. In the car with a baby and gave this address. >> I don't need that. >> What the >> I mean that's random. I mean we sit out here in this car all the time. Like we're out here all the time. My grandma can even tell you like we out here to >> crush what that one >> the what? >> Okay here. Is >> this where he stored it? >> No. >> No. >> That's where I keep my roaches at. >> Gotcha. Hey there. >> How are you? >> Hey, Ashley. If you you can come back. >> Police informed the adults that a report will be forwarded to Child Protective Services for review regardless of arrest decisions. >> Back here and get him. >> Like I said, I don't know where >> you you can get him. Just hang out right here. Okay. >> Okay. >> Any here? This was in her thing here that she's at. It's what they use to crush up the Hey Ashley, y'all crushing on this, too. >> That's what I crushed them on. >> Okay. You have to feel testing, I think. And it was in here. >> It's going to be up to Officer Wheeler, but >> I can I can talk. You know what I mean? >> Huh? That's what I can talk if you know what I mean. >> Okay. All right. But I I will be honest with you and I will tell you that uh report will be sent to CPS about this. >> Okay. >> Well, >> he was in there when I was >> The mother expresses concern about the CPS report and asks what information will be included. Officers explain it will reflect observed facts only. I I honestly didn't know nothing about >> Well, I mean that's bad enough, but I mean I haven't met >> he wasn't around none of that. >> And we honestly >> we still we still have to send a report to CPS >> and I I don't know what they'll do with that. Okay. >> So like report you mean as in what >> a report be sent to CPS? >> What would it say? >> And then whether they follow up with it that that's up to them. >> What would it say? >> Huh? >> What would it say? What? The report. Yeah. >> Um, basically what we did, what we saw, what you found. >> Yep. What we found. Yep. >> I mean, my grandma didn't even vouch. Like, we literally just went in and got him. We didn't even go there. The girls rock the porch. >> Well, we we've been sitting in We were standing out here for a good 10 minutes. >> That's Yeah, >> that's how you >> both of you. >> Yeah, my daughter. My grandma has both of them. My daughter. But the little one right there's >> got them what I told you. >> Mhm. I did. I just did. >> Oh, okay. >> All right. >> Officers confirm no one is being arrested at the scene and arrange for the child to remain with a family member during further questioning. >> So, neither one of you going to jail tonight? >> All right. All right. So, can your grandma watch the little one and you come in talk to detective? >> I want I want to separate y'all. That way you don't. >> You can separate it right here. I'm going to get >> But it's got to be formal. You see the thing? >> No. >> I got to put you right. It won't take long. >> We'll give you a while back. >> She said for what? talk about what I have to be throwing to put to bed. >> No. I mean, she >> I mean, like I said, you you can you can tell her whatever you want to. It It's up to you. >> Just [clears throat] tell her that. >> Can Can y'all take one of us first and the other one stay here with him? >> I'm going to leave it up to him. >> Okay. Or can I take him with me if I walk down there? I mean, Hobie said it be like 30 minutes back. I mean, I don't mind if she comes here for my grandma cuz she's already got the two girls in there. >> I mean, it's not going to be a long time. You want her to walk down there? >> Yeah, >> I can walk. >> I got his stroller in the bus. >> Police explain public substance use laws and clarify why the situation is treated seriously when a child is present. >> I'll talk to him first. >> Okay. And >> you do your thing with the baby and then we'll flip-flop. Okay. >> All right. >> Did you get all your evidence? >> Yeah. >> Don't make it like dance. Well, technically it is. >> It's not. >> It is a crime scene. >> I mean, it's technically Yeah, it's a crime scene, but not >> feel like smoking a blunt in the yard. Is it like drinking beer in the yard? >> Yep. Can't do it. You can only smoke in your house. >> You can get like a blunting bubble. >> No. Oh, yeah. >> Seriously. >> Mhm. Yep. You get DUI smoking. >> Mhm. The wor the the people I've had the worst field spotty test were how >> get back. >> No, I'm serious. >> Yeah, >> it's not as harmless of what people think. >> I mean, it depends on who you get it from. I guess the place is not. >> All right. Your rights one more time. Okay. >> You understand your rights and you agree to speak just initial here and sign it. >> So, we got a call. Basically, you guys, I'm assuming we're seen um smoking inside of a vehicle with the kid in the car. Okay, >> it is what it is at this point. >> Officers conduct a formal interview discussing substance sources and stressing long-term consequences rather than immediate punishment. >> What happened happened? Do you know where it came from? >> Uh it is true. It's one of her girls that she always goes to and I believe it's the girl up there dollar store here by food and I know a couple other people go to her >> through her as well. >> So she she sells it up at the dollar store cuz she don't want her boyfriend which I believe his name is Brandon's name. She don't want him knowing that she's doing it and selling it. Whatever. >> You know how much you sell? How much do y'all get at a time? >> It's normally just a little 20 bag, which ain't much at all. >> You know how much they buy it for? >> Oh, she normally buys 20, 30 bags almost probably every day. >> Do you buy it all? >> No. >> No. >> You just smoke whatever she has. Okay. >> I have gave her money to support her and I'll be doing it with her demand. So, I can't say much. If you're not on probation, if you're not and you want to do some work, you can do that. >> I might literally be the one who sets them up. >> So, so basically how it works just between me and you, if you know people and you know they reach out to you, say, "Hey, you want to announce for whatever, >> right? >> You text one of us and and you you basically plan the whole thing out where you want to meet, what you want to get." We provide you with whatever you need. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Don't mess with people like that. >> Right. If you want to do it, we can set you up, get you with the right people, and then basically these these chargers can go away. >> Yeah. I need that. I don't want to mess anybody's life up like that. >> But this people, >> yeah, >> it's horrible. It's ruining a lot of people. >> Officers emphasize that child safety escalates enforcement decisions. >> I've seen a lot of my friends just completely go downhill and lose everything because of it. And right, >> she's something me to the point to where like >> I just can't stay with her. Like I just want to completely leave her honestly. But >> man, I'm doing it for my baby and I don't know. I just can't do it on my own either. >> You let us know. We set it up. You do what you got to do. You get you get money. I think it's 100 bucks, something like that. >> All right, I'm going to read you your right real quick. If you agree with them, initial initial sign. >> What if I don't agree? Then what? I'm just asking. >> Then I ain't talking to you. [snorts] How many times have you been caught? >> Like recently. >> Doing what? >> With >> Jacob didn't get you a couple weeks ago. >> He got me with some scales. >> Chris Wayade didn't get you. >> He got Jared. >> Okay. So, he got you a scales. >> I've been caught driving more than anything. >> Right. But he got you a scales. >> More did. Yeah. >> Cuz they want you go to jail night. >> Wow. Okay. >> Stop me from driving, >> right? Jacob's got you with scales. >> He said it. >> Two task force guys. And it would it would be really different if you didn't have a baby in the back seat. >> No immediate arrest was made at the scene. A report was submitted to child protective services for further assessment. Authorities focused on documentation, cooperation, and child safety rather than immediate detention. Remember, even short lapses in judgment can trigger legal and child welfare involvement when minors are present. Laws around substance use change significantly once a child's safety becomes a factor. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. People don't realize how fast CPS can get involved over situations like this. It didn't seem malicious, but it still crossed a serious line.
