you yesterday you guys had some bicycles with you what happened to those bicycles where did those go to or come from on the 11th of July 2022 officers responded to a report from a college regarding a couple who were allegedly involved in shoplifting the report detailed that the couple had stolen many items from a store and left the premises without making any payment yourself oh Sandy so you've got another repeat offender huh yes sir so and one of the two is wearing an ankle bracelet so I really I think it might be an easy one for you well we'll see um so I'm going to start at the most recent um we stopped this one okay for a uh Master Force combo kit uh with a police officer what do you need copy that thank you oh um [Music] so well so she walked in she arrived on a bike okay on a bicycle or motorcycle okay um with him he's the one that has the ankle bracelet okay um she walks in she walks over to that end cap over there grabs the tool tried blocking out the garden center door cashier asked her for a receipt she dropped it and they flat Okay so that one did he do anything to indicate he or was he like a lookout or yesterday all he did was Lookout he stayed outside of the okay all right um so that's that's from the 7eventh when he was in the store okay um that one's from the 10th I just those are the best pictures I found so this is even though it says it is that the time you oh I got you there's the day in time okay so those those are just the best pictures so just to show that they were together okay and um I mean I got the video shows them coming and going and what not do they always arrive on bicycle or have you gotten a vehicle so that's the vehicle they came in on the second okay the on the 7th they were on foot I'm not sure if they parked their bikes okay hard away or whatever and then the last day was the bicycles okay so seven on the second they were in a vehicle mhm 7th on foot 10th on B yes sir all right upon receiving the report officers quickly proceeded to the location to address the situation and start their investigation one officer spoke with the store manager when they arrived at the store the manager provided a detailed explanation of what had happened describing the actions of a man and a woman and how the theft occurred the officer listened carefully as the manager shared his account of the incident the manager explained the scale of the theft and its impact on the store's operations the officer took the time to review the evidence which included CCTV footage and related documents this evidence was crucial for understanding what had happened and identifying the people involved in the theft on the second the only thing I I think they stole was a $12 charger saw them selected they came in empty-handed left empty-handed uh that's probably the weakest one of the three but it was the first time we saw him in here all right or we find him on video best seven is a they grabbed a backpack off our Shelf so we have selection um then they grabbed the same tool that they tried to leave with uh on the T okay um we don't have them putting it in the backpack but the backpack's very full okay you know they look off camera they come back and the backpack's full something uh and then they walk out exit door with the backpack p and I don't stop has anybody been trying to return these items without a receipt at all or uh you know let me check real quick that's it's just interesting they keep selecting the same Jewel package so I didn't yeah yeah I guess I'll check uh the pawn shop too and see I something show you on [Music] no no returns on it okay I did so for the one that they took on seven I only had the one loss that I could verify but we were missing four of them oh really so again I'm no way of Link all that same same combo pack yeah so and then the one they took on the 10th was it's same end cap but it was the bigger one of the two so that one's a slightly different a little different okay all right so got away with the charger got away with the backpack and the tool combo kit and dropped the merchandise when they were confronted and fled yes okay all right um here's the case number for the report that I'll complete I will send off some pictures to probation and see if anybody recognizes them okay um same silly questions I asked you last time you didn't give anybody permission to take these items from the store um do you want to press charges if they're identified yes please and press F right yes all right and then I'll email the video to the same yeah if you still yep if you still have my card from the last time I do um yeah that would be great uh any questions for me no sir all right we'll see what we can do to identify them oh um the other case that I had with you a couple weeks ago we did identify them oh okay I could not locate them they have been up they've been doing this between here in oir okay the probation agent that identified him said yeah she just got arrested for stealing a bunch of stuff at uh Walgreens the manager ensured the officer had all the necessary details to comprehend the situation fully he answered questions and clarified anything that wasn't immediately clear with all the evidence and information gathered the officer thanked the manager and left the store to continue the investigation outside on the road just outside the store the officer noticed a man and a woman standing nearby they matched the description given by the manager the couple was smoking and seemed unaware of the officer's presence and um so they were referred for criminal charges both of them for uh for shoplifting and then um I'll have to double check the probation agent was going to talk to a supervisor about issuing a an arrest warrant for him he's on probation and his girlfriend isn't so but we did identify him so hopefully some resolution will come with that yeah uh is is that something I have to wait to get like names for them until it's gone through a process no I don't you know I don't think so I could probably go get those way right now yeah you don't mind just so update our reports yeah I'll write them down if you got if you got something to do I'll write them on a piece of paper and I can leave them up front otherwise if you want to wait like 2 3 minutes if you have time sure yeah okay all right I'll be right plate that you guys got comes back registered to his mom and when I started checking into the history of his yep so I don't know if you guys send any letters to them or not but at least you have it on got you two on video stealing stuff you know have me stealing [ __ ] well I've got you there and your 3ps puts you there got me there but you ain't steal me I a't steal [ __ ] okay you have no camera on me nothing Ste saying I still nothing well based on their reports and what I have I do have enough to summons both you for retail F I just did we take anything um I was outside the first time a phone charger that you selected you guys went into an area where there's no camera coverage didn't come out with the phone charger they couldn't find it you guys left the store I see you're selling a phone charger online doesn't look to be the same one but you're selling stuff online brand new I've got a backpack that you selected and then you selected some power tools put those into the backpack you're looking out for her as she tries to go out the door's locked you guys come back in leave with the backpack and then yesterday you tried walking out with power tools confronted by a store employee and you drop them and take off and I did that what that I did that you did okay so I've got those three different incidences that they've got reports on and based off their description and based off the video I've got enough to refer you both criminally what just struggling well struggling doesn't give you permission to steal other people's stuff would you like it if somebody came and started stealing your [ __ ] I bet you'd be calling us people have been stealing my [ __ ] I got two bags that's all I got left you know what I mean dude like I I've been trying to get a job nobody wants to hire a homeless bum dude that's what they think we are homeless bums but I'm probably one of the hardest working dudes I went to college you know what I mean like I can appreciate it's difficult trying to find a job but again that's no excuse to start stealing stuff just support yourself if it was food maybe I'd understand but stealing power tools and then you turning around selling stuff on Market Place how do you how do you I'm not going to you know I'm just going to say like how do you think people live like you give food stamps you know what I mean but we got food stamps so we don't have to steal food you know we need the necessity other necessities a roof over our head whatever I mean I it's it's whatever we get a summons but like I don't know man I'm I'm just trying to like I've been doing this for like two months now like I I can't do it anymore like this is just wearing me down and like I don't steal I don't steal at all like I'm not a thief I'm not a burgler you know what I mean this life is I understand how it can be wearing you down the reason you're getting charged based off of what I'm reading in their reports and seeing the questions were intended to uncover their motives and understand the details of their actions however the couple did not seem willing to cooperate they avoided providing clear answers making it harder for the officer to confirm the information he had already gathered their resistance added complexity to the investigation realizing that more support might be needed the officer returned to his vehicle to contact a senior officer he provided a detailed report of the situation including the couple's lack of cooperation and the evidence collected I got enough for party to a crime which was essentially the same charge as criminal retail theft so I'm going to be contacting Brent see if he wants to put a hold on you like I said I'm just going to be issuing criminal summonses for court all right so I see BR on Thursday anyway okay well they already that's how I identified you I sent the photo your ankle monitor clear as day on the video camera sent the photo to probation they identified you right away and confirmed you were there yeah so all right so if I could have you both just sit tight right here for me I'll isue the summons I'll be on my way all right all right thank you 345 get a second you over here 933 p.m. at the sah Court Sand branch of Marathon County Circuit Court I'm referring you or summoning you both for the charge of theft of movable property like I said Menards wants to press charges uh there is enough evidence between their statements and the video to substantiate summoning both of you okay I understand what you're saying that you guys are trying to get by and you took the stuff to be able to support yourself unfortunately Menard's still wants to file charges that being said Menard's also is trespassing you from the property so if you return to any Menard's store property whether it's in laa Marshfield Medford wherever there's a ards and they find you there they can have you charged with criminal trespass okay do you both understand that yeah yes do either of you have out to everybody dud okay camp services nobody's got time or money you have to have a job blah blah blah can't get a job cuz nobody wants to hire any that don't have an address have you talked to Catholic CES on Third and Garfield yeah we went we went down there and he just turned us away after the call the officer returned to the couple to continue the investigation he handed them some documents which were likely related to the case or the evidence collected while the couple reviewed the papers the officer discussed the situation with other individuals present at the scene they considered the next steps and the best way to proceed all right do you want me to reach out to any other the representatives I know at those places see what we can do for you well I'm I'm working with Shelby and Shelby like Shelby at fset and Shelby at Social Services okay there's only so much they can do like yeah you just got to get a job like that's all get a job all right well I can understand how that's frustrating and I feel for you um like I said if there's anything I can do to try to help facilitate putting you in touch with somebody I'm willing to do that all right I don't want to see you guys having to live you know hand to mouth you know taking stuff to try to get by we want to try to help you if we can all right yeah okay thanks for your cooperation thank you that's not the same Menard's am I they're not going to find anything after I give it to them I don't want anybody getting hurt no okay all right well I appreciate your cooperation um like I said you still got those summons I did change the statute to a retail theft rather than a a regular fft but it's the same court date same time and actually since you're both still here I'll give you the new copy so you have the updated criminal statute that you're being charged with I'll be right back okay Paul I was just telling uh telling her I actually um have a different summons to give you it's the same date same time same incident I just have a different statute number on it okay but since I have you here I'll give you the revised copy okay yeah during this time the officer noticed the woman holding several bags this caught his attention and he decided to inspect them upon searching the bags the officer found many stolen items this discovery confirmed the couple's involvement in the theft and provided key evidence for the case the officer then turned his attention to the man he noticed that the man was also carrying a bag after searching it he found more stol en items at this point there was no doubt about the couple's guilt the evidence was clear and supported the information provided by the store manager yes you see that oh well I guess it doesn't really matter at this point but um when I was talk about I went see my PO today my bracelet was dying I didn't have anywhere else to go so um I just went down there and talked to him about it and then he said that there we were there three times I only remember twice I have you on video entering the store with her on the second selecting some items giving them to her one of those items later ended up being found to be stolen on the 7th I have you both going in there you selected this backpack she took it off the shelf I remember that part yesterday the first one was on July 2nd you guys went in there selected a phone charger you were in the automotive department for about 10 15 minutes Al together in the store I I remember the day that we were there yeah but I don't remember I don't remember yeah well I I have it on video you select two different items give them to her and then one of those items end up missing so let me go grab that summons for you and you can be on your way every corner of this country any corner of the country is concerned man okay Paul same date same time same incident it's not another charge it's just a different criminal statute okay all right y thank you and Britney same thing for you same court date same time same place it's not a new charge it's just a different criminal statute you can disregard the other one I gave you but you still have to show up at court on that date okay thank you all
