high definition video for the ending of
a high speed chase on i-94 in north
minneapolis and this is one of the
wildest endings we've seen it involved
them hitting a curb going off-road and
then
in three seconds we've got the ending of
it
perfectly executed i might say
and notice the change in temperature
as the trooper gets out
very calmly still with that sense of
command and authority
it's the passenger out who's also pretty
calm he
he came out with his drink in hand
of trooper ordering him on the ground
driver coming out
lots to break down in this 47 second

first let's take a look at the exit
because there is a real chance to lose
control hitting the curb
the two of those tires going airborne
and the other car going off-road there
briefly on that one lane exit that's a
50 view here's 100 speed
and keep in mind when you're following a
pursuit
you're more in a reactive position they
have the advantage they know where
they're going to go you don't so if they
exit late it's harder for one to make
these exit ramps the pit involves
surprisingly little force they're using
just that rear quarter panel of the
vehicle to spin them out and if they
don't stop them here it's worth noting
they're gonna head right into north
minneapolis where neighborhoods begin on
the other side of this bridge
one big remaining question is why are
the lights on the police car off is that
deliberate how did that happen what's
the deal with that but first what i love
about these high definition cameras and
their quality is you can read the lips
of the trooper you can see what he's
saying in that situation first watch his
eyes as he goes back and forth between
each suspect there's no tunnel vision
here he's going from one and then the
other and then back to the first to keep
both of them in check and here i'm
pretty sure he says get down or sit down
and you can see him say down in the
video and the suspect
the suspect is these guys are
intimidated by him he's taking control
of the seed and that guy definitely lays
fully down on the concrete as for the
mystery regarding the lights you can see
they're clearly on there on the grill
and on the passenger interior side it's
a slick top with minnesota state patrol
this is a common setup they just have
the interior lights on the passenger
side to limit flashback now zebruder
film style we're gonna break this down
you can see it frame by frame the lights
are on then off then on then off as they
take that pit so it was either the
collision with the curb and there is a
sizeable curb at that intersection or
the trooper had the presence of mind to
turn them off to kill the siren so
either a mechanical function once they
hit that curb or the trooper turned them
off to kill the siren and be able to
communicate i don't know enough if the
state patrol cars go into siren kill
mode watson park i just don't know
unfortunately
here are minneapolis police squads
arriving a park police with minneapolis
police department and a second
minneapolis squad arriving but this
trooper single-handedly took care of
this situation from beginning to end and
then got two suspects into custody and
the trooper's partner from
a few miles down the road shows up but
this situation is
code for and taken care of
