I'm not the primary aggressor on January 28th 2023 officers responded to a reported domestic disturbance at a residence the call which indicated a potentially volatile situation prompted a quick response to ensure the safety of all involved going me my house up in that apartment separ up there the other one yeah let me see and the yard over why did you bring it back here man she came over here she let it go man I know 31 me the mother of his children with a frying pan let me uh this is for evidence let me get your forehead look look forward at me you got that weth on your yeah I know yeah anywhere else I mean she the um broomstick and then I when she canah fell into the wall I know that she does meth yeah she high right now probably all right I'm going to go up there you got any weapons um might a knife in her back if she has her back on I'm not sure I think her back might be in my my truck this time so I don't know all right you hang out with uh officer wi right here we're going to go talk to her Savannah police anybody inside you got to make yourself known Savannah Police Department sir come here come talk to me real quick huh upon arrival officers found a male victim outside the house visibly distressed and willing to provide information regarding the incident this initial engagement was crucial for understanding the Dynamics of the situation and assessing any immediate threats after Gathering preliminary information from the male victim officers entered the apartment inside they encountered two females one was the suspect and the other was a witness or perhaps another involved party where you at in my son's room where's your son's room straight sir I'm not I have no weapons have no weapons here well let me see your hands hands are right here I know come out affirm that I have no weapons okay son come out this I have so Cody my son he's my son okay out no he's my witness that his father abused me threw me in that wall over there so yeah I locked myself in here with my son what do you got going on today you have a whove and so I told him I'm taking my son I'm going home right so okay how did you get back here cuz I've been here before and you you know you said you were leaving he got me while I was sleeping again I have nowhere else to go this is my only choice to come here okay like no you were here that night yeah I'm going to speak with your son no choice but to come here I'm going to speak with your son okay okay please do can you watch me yeah what's going on uh so basically I've usually been in my room since I do um this whole kind of argument thing so I don't actually really know what's going on but what I hear is so basically I heard uh so basically my why don't you come out here ear is come here puppy my dad my mom into that wall that's what you heard yes and how did you hear that uh I heard a big dunk and them are yelling at each other um and she see or no uh no okay come here puppy she said what so basic I heard her say he had a Blue Torch and I I accidentally or I don't know hit her and I it burned her uh scarf or something what I heard 24 to 264 okay but you didn't see any of it no your door was closed and um I don't know which one's real or not but my dad called you and said she hit him with a frying pan but uh her story is uh he threatened her with a frying pan okay all 24 26 26 what what is your name again over there ma'am not talk all well I need you to talk to me no okay you want to head this way the first step was to separate the individuals involved and gather their accounts independently which helps to avoid confusion and ensure that each person's statement is as accurate as possible the suspect upon being questioned asserted that she had no weapon and claimed she was merely sitting in her son's house this statement seemed to downplay the serious of the situation and may have been an attempt to deflect responsibility all right come out front with us real quick so we can talk look at this are going to side with him y crowbar to me and didn't do it so I don't trust y'all that's not the case but I need you to come speak with me right here many cries I didn't abuse him and he abused me and you'll never do anything about it and I have nowhere else to go so I have no choice of but here so you know what I'd rather be homeless than deal with this ever again we're going to talk out front no we're not we and Z all right so the reason I brought you down here CU I don't wanty you are going to speak with us and uh you're not free to go Sarah because we're investigating a crime was no crime okay go ahead and put your hands behind your back for now for what do it for what go put your hands behind your back am I under arrest yes you're being detained no am I under arrest hold on you cannot detain me I'm not under arrest okay that location all right I want to my right now hold on but I can't have you walking away from here right oh because it's illegal to walk away from a crime that was never committed okay interaction with police right now come walk for him walk towards the front come here come here dog go back go upstairs aat to shoot hisle was inside go did not see a [Music] single3 take inside and shut the door please we're going go this way she's going to keep walking with us and she's going to walk out in traffic Sarah you Got7 clear you dispatch and I'll go back just grab her by the call she's so you can probably just pick her up too 341 yes man can you start me a supervisor [Applause] please3 where do you want me to go we're just going to go and sit right here on this it okay well you can stay I'll fly but all right so go ahead and run me through over last night our real argument started overnight probably about like coming from in the morning um goes over her being here and wanting to like I guess just stay and I'm telling her she needs pretty much 28 West to leave multiple times else to go stuff like that but like nothing crazy yeah we calm down a couple times and just like settle down um and then this morning woke up we had an argument started after that about um uh her going to work like going to go find a a job either like Uber Eats or whatever okay and then she just kept finding excuses why she had to keep basically that's what the ARG respond off okay Lo their information real quick and get the crn start okay all right so walking through the alation okay so started in the bedroom my bedroom back corner um he was tossing random items later uh officers typically look for signs of defensiveness or attempts to minimize involvement during such interviews as these can indicate that the person may be withholding information information or attempting to manipulate the narrative officers then proceeded to gather information from the two females present the suspect however appeared resistant to accepting any blame or acknowledgement of wrongdoing what else was it some stuff from like a box with a headphone box or something like that so I'm like I'm just kind of like swatting it away or so keep backing up uh she keeps getting louder and louder and louder out of her face we just she can't hear you but just don't acknowledge I tell you how you so um what was I saying yeah she started tossing stuff at me random items uh made our way into the kitchen cuz we kept going back and forth to each other I was trying to get ready for work this morning a c a yellow cup that's on the floor tea I put it on the ground she starts picking it up and spilling it everywhere she grabbed a bottle of whiskey start pouring that on stuff um I have a couple videos on my phone doing all this too so today yes okay yeah I like to so how did we get to the point where you so I was getting dressed still I just uh grabbed my stuff um we're in the kitchen and let's see if we this one um no sir I know it's not no no not trying to be rude yes sir you don't ever really have any sort of like indentation or anything along your forehead naturally no sir straight flat usually right so okay so any type ofing and everything is new yes okay I have to ask CU sometimes people have you know THS and ridges I know if I shave my head it's perfectly round okay all right I'll take those I'll see that S no you're fine I just want to make sure and if anything starts to change with you like start feel woy or anything no I've been okay so I was waiting for it too and I was on the phone I was making sure I wasn't reading and stuff and I haven't gotten busy or anything it was it was a good clock but talk what size would you say the frying pan it's actually out in the yard in the next door you can see it from the top of the I it's a small like 6 in or something like that okay um so yeah we're in the kitchen just grabbed that off top of the fridge after like grabing a couple other things up end okay whacked me with it I backed up into the wall right there on the side of the kitchen kind of fell over cuz I was just caught by surprise course she grabbed a broomstick with it okay where just like around but she kind of missed a little bit and had to whack and hit the door the wall or something uh did you at any time put your hands on her at all no dude this time I this time I so much self-control like I wanted to like just throw her out of the house honestly right and uh no I I kept staying between her and my sun basically okay um she kept pushing kept pushing like getting in my face and like she had her phone out pretty much the whole time but she said she was on Facebook live or something um do you have the videos of her oh yeah I'm sorry I keep I keep [ __ ] you're I check see what we got here um see this is BU let's see this is when she grabbed a bottle of whiskey starting to put pour it on my computer I believe that was today you broke the wall you threw me into it you broke the wall no this isn't a good one why are you trying to be down my door why are you beating down my door my longings are in there okay well you can stop beating on the door unlock it stop beating on the door this is Jes yeah some of not part recording that happen the male victim also played a key role in this investigation by presenting video evidence to the officers video footage is a powerful tool in domestic violence cases as it can offer irrefutable proof of the actions taken by the individuals involved we're going to go beyond that the a blunt past iron I knew I was like this time this time like this time yeah so I'm gonna I have my supervisor on the way we may call a DVA detective but um you know there's evidence of that clearly by your forehead and then uh obviously the paning on the yard also indicative we'll show her as well how that happened was uh I actually got it from her and tossed it basically right behind me at the door door was open I TR to leave right okay all right I have a supervisor in route he's probably going to want to speak with you um the reason you're detained is cuz you know like I will comply if you don't violate my rights right we're not violating rights you are by detaining me you're violating my rights let me let me finish you said you were just going to leave and that you didn't want to speak with us any further that's not how that works at time fine I will sit I will comply I will talk but please stop violating my rights I'm not you are by detaining me having cffs on me when I'm not under arrest is a violation of my rights it's in the Constitution all right well I just want to let you know that I have a supervisor in R and the reason you detained is because you no longer want to you didn't want to speak with us identifi or but you already know who I am I don't know your you've already seen my identification before I met you once like a month ago and the the report is right there in your thing report in in my backpack right there just like I said you're not free to go you want to leave and that's not how this is going to work so I got fine I'll sit would you like to sit on the curb if you stop detaining me against my rights okay I got that super so what do youall do if he shows doctor videos do take it as that's it that's what it is I am not the lead officer in this placee no but you are an officer of the law are you not yeah okay doesn't it h bottom doesn't it bottom what in the chain of command you got sit and babysit the one that's not trying to bend the law but it's not worth anything cuz aren't going to do anything ever about it maybe I'll do something was my property still thrown out on the yard over there there like my ID and my debit cards that he stole to make sure I wouldn't leave you didn't see that okay just trust me I tried to leave tried to leave the situation before it got out of hand and it didn't even get out of hand but he stole my ID and he stole my credit cards and my debit cards might as well take a seat though nope I told you I'm violating my rights as long as yall violating my rights why should I comply okay suit yourself I mean you want me to be nice but y'all AR even being nice y'all already made made up your minds before you even came in that apartment well yeah I know after collecting comprehensive details from both parties officers were able to establish a clear Narrative of the events leading up to the disturbance despite the suspect's refusal to admit any wrongdoing the weight of the evidence pointed firmly in her Direction given the situation and the evidence presented officers decided to take the suspect into custody the officer did request information from you and he did refuse to give it because y'all already made up your minds before you even came to into the door well that's why oh and he already knows my name he's already run my name he already's written a report with my name on it that's not how that works not like I could lie about who I am and in my Constitution right I don't have to tell you who I am so that's all right you want to punish me for knowing my rights and trying to invoke my rights just think you're a mistaken I'm not mistaken I know the Constitution I've read the Constitution over and over and over and over again all right I'm going to read you something real quick okay sure you have the right to remain silent for uh no for what for what you're in cuffs I have to do this question no but I'm I'm not under arrest you said I'm detained right and to to question you about what happened when you're in cuffs I have to read this to you that's how this works no yes no are you refusing to answer questions I told you I would comply but nope so I'm going to read you this anyway you have the right to remain silent any say can Will us against you in the court of law you have the right to speak to an attorney have attorney pris during any questioning if you cannot afford an attorney one will be provided to you at government expense knowing and understanding your rights as I've explained them to you are you willing to answer any questions without attorney present no I want my attorney pres question yes okay all right huh you need friend no all righty so as of right now we looking at battery Dev for for striking him with the frying pan I never had a frying pan in my hand never had a frying pain in my hand like I can't question you on that do you have proof evidence that I had a frying pain in my hand I struck him well he's got injury that he did to himself last night that injury is overly apparent that it's from extremely racing yeah yes he did it last night no this morning at 6:00 a.m. which one was it last night or this morning it was this morning at 6:00 a.m. okay also we have the frying pan that he used he had it in his hand to threaten me with it okay well unfortunately I can't question on it because you you de to speak a lawyer yeah I want a lawyer like okay yeah all right so I'm going to go ahead and remove your bag from you no yes no 100% am I under arrest yes ma'am how am I under arrest because I you don't have proof evidence I can deduct that you were the primary aggressor I not the primary [Applause] aggressor well move over here to my car I'm going to get you all such emotional outbursts are not uncommon in domestic situations particularly when individuals feel they are being unjustly accused or removed from a familiar environment the officers handled the situation by placing the female suspect in the patrol vehicle a necessary step to ensure the safety of all involved transporting her to the station allowed for further investigation and processing of the charges did you search him for his drugs that he had that whole reason while we're fighting oh I can't search him out of the blue way be in there is if put in there had my bag you anticipate something there no I'd already told you he was in there [Applause] smoking I get hit by him he hits himself I can't imagine you have you ever job with a sociopath before well you'll be able to explain all of that to the judge you remember that last case that you came here on when I had visible marks on my face from him me and y'all didn't do anything about it how is this fair I had visible marks for him abusing me and y'all did nothing is it cuz I'm a woman no you be your wife too come here okay can I please at least smoke one of my he stole from me and kept me from smoking please it's on
