So, you don't see any issue with bringing a four-year-old to a bar? I >> I I >> Do you understand? I'll call DCF on you and they'll come and do a whole investigation. >> Where's the do I pay these bills here? Ask who pay these bills. You don't pay. I pay these bills. I moved here. >> So then I said, "You not on my son birth certificate." Okay, I'm going to do it. You I'm not going to get what he done today and >> for these kids, danger wasn't a possibility. It was their daily reality. The person who was supposed to protect them had become unpredictable, violent, and terrifying to live with by the time police were called. The situation had already crossed a dangerous line, and every second mattered. What officers witnessed next revealed just how much these children had been enduring, and why removing them immediately was the only option left. This is when police rescue kids from insanely dangerous mother. >> Come here. Come here. Come here. >> Ma'am, >> don't make this more complicated than it is. Come here, >> M. Please stop. >> From Grand View Public. >> Oh my god. >> Yeah. >> On August 22nd, 2020 21, police responded to multiple calls about a woman bringing her four-year-old daughter into a bar with reports the child has no shoes or underwear and appeared distressed. >> I'm the one that called. It's this woman over here on the corner. We're just worried about the child. She I don't know if her mom is up or what. We did not serve her, but she just showed up about 30 minutes ago and the poor kid was walking around with no underwear, no shoes, crying, wanting to go home. C >> bar staff explain the mother arrived about 30 minutes earlier. The child was crying, wandering, and begging to go home while the mother appeared disengaged. >> Customers come come up to tell me that the mom was running into them following. >> All right, I appreciate it. Thank you. >> All right. So, I took care of it. If you want to leave me a card if I have any other issues. >> I just got to talk to her real quick. >> Okay. >> You don't mind? >> What's your name? >> Jennifer. >> What's your name? >> What is it? >> What's your name? >> Meline. >> M A D E L I N E. >> You're poor. Four. Is there any reason you have a four-year-old at a bar? No, >> there is no reason. >> No. >> Okay. Can we go outside and talk, please? >> Yes. >> All right. Awesome. Come on, Miss. >> No. No. Bring her. Bring her. >> Bring her. >> So, is this your daughter? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, you don't see any issue with bringing a four-year-old to a bar? I I I >> Do you understand? I'll call DCF on you and they'll come and do a whole investigation. That's a problem. >> Yes. >> Officers confront the mother outside, warning that bringing a young child into a bar could trigger a DCF investigation. The mother minimizes the concern. >> Okay. All right. So, I'm getting we've gotten multiple calls about this situation saying that your daughter's lifting her dress and she's not wearing any undergarments and it's an issue inside. I I don't know. Hold on. Charlie 6, we're outside now. We're out by the outside bar. Um, I'm getting like they're saying that you're they think you're under the influence. You have a 4-year-old at a bar. That's no issue in your mind. >> Um, I mean, I did not think it would. >> It's not like you're sitting at a dining table. You're literally sitting at a bar with a four-year-old. >> Agreed. >> Okay. I have a 2-year-old and there's no way in the heck I would ever do that. Ever >> understood? >> Are you okay? >> Yeah. You just want to go home? >> Officers speak gently with the child who confirms she is four years old and wants to go home. Officers try to keep her calm and reassured. >> Home. Okay. You're kind of like putting me in a real tough spot here. >> Will you just hang out with my partner here? >> That's your daughter? >> Yes. Don't be scared. >> My name is Officer Hannah. What's your name? >> Everything's going to be okay. All right. >> You're okay, sweetie. Everything's okay. >> We're told that this was a not a spot to take my daughter. >> It's okay. Um, have you been drinking today, ma'am? >> Um, >> come to my 1928. >> Hi, mama. How old are you? >> Four. >> You're four. >> Okay, it's okay. You're almost going to go home. Okay. >> What's your name? >> Maline. >> Maline. Oh, that's a nice name. Maline, I like your dress. >> The mother appears unsteady and distracted. Officers grow concerned she may be under the influence and unable to safely care for the child. >> You want me to close it out? >> It's unicorns, right? Yeah. Everything's okay. Help me. Help me. Help you. >> Yeah. >> Is there a chair or something? >> Maybe on the stairs if she can sit down on the stairs. No, >> I'm fine. >> We just don't want you to fall with your daughter in your hands. Can >> you talk to a child? >> Maline, >> Maline, come to me. >> Right here. Right here. How you doing? Are you okay? Yeah. You okay? You want to walk over there? >> Just walk over there. Walk over there. >> And then you can talk to me. Okay. And you can talk to me. Stop right here. Right here. Officers separate the child briefly to assess safety, asking basic questions and checking for signs of abuse or injury. >> Talking right here. How you doing? Are you okay? >> Yeah. Is mommy okay? >> You have you ever been arrested before? >> Yep. >> For what? >> Intoxication. It's not illegal to be intoxicated. >> What? >> It's not illegal to be intoxicated. >> What? >> No. for that. >> You were with mommy all day today. >> Where are your shoes? >> 239th Street. >> You left them in the car. >> You were hanging out with mommy. Were you hang out with mommy? What was mommy doing? >> Good. >> She was good. What was mommy doing? >> She was in the store. >> Was she doing anything else? >> Yes, she was staying in. >> Everything is okay with you. No, she didn't hit you or anything like that. >> I just want to play. >> I got it. >> The mother is placed under arrest for child neglect after failing to demonstrate safe judgment or supervision. >> Come here. Come here. Come here. >> Ma'am, >> don't make this more complicated than it is. >> Come here. >> M. Please stop. >> Please stop. >> It's okay. You're gonna come with me. Okay, we're gonna talk over here. Let's talk over here. Let's talk over here. Okay. >> You're being placed under risk for child neglect. Do you understand? >> Officers work to find a safe caregiver. The child is comforted, praised, and distracted with police lights to reduce stress. >> Do you have anyone that can come pick up Maline? >> No. >> Okay. >> So, do you have grandma with you? >> I just have a grandma teach. Grandma and Titi, they they do they live close. Do you know? H >> Well, they live. >> You want me want to hold my hand so you can feel better? >> Okay. Your grandma and Titi, they live here. >> Do they live close? >> They live in Tennessee. >> They live in Tennessee. Okay. Okay. You want to go see the the police car? >> You want to go see the lights? Yeah. Okay. Come on. I'mma carry you. Okay. >> All right. Let's go see the lights. >> Okay. Hold on. All right. I'm going to bring you over to my car and I'll let you make phone calls there. Okay. >> But it has to be somebody you choose. Obviously, we can't just leave with somebody. And if you can't find anybody, we got to call DCF. They're going to come get us. >> Okay. So, we're going to go down the stairs. Let's go down the >> high five. >> Yeah. Good job. Good job. >> You're such a good girl. You know that. Going to wait for the car to come here so we can look at the lights. Okay. my uh my partner behind you. She's going to search you and then we'll take you out of handcuffs as long as you cooperate and everything. Okay. Um you can make phone calls to have Meline get picked up. Okay. >> Mhm. >> All right. >> One second. >> You have anything on you? >> Witnesses and bar staff give statements describing the mother's intoxicated behavior, lack of response to the child, and attempts to take other patrons drinks. >> Up your daughter. Do you understand? >> Yeah. >> All right. >> You just hang out with this officer. I got a good statement. It's cool, right? Look at the light. You're going to be here with Crystal. That's her name. Okay. I'm going to go get statements and everything. Okay. Right there. >> All right. Can you tell me what occurred today? >> Uh, mom came in with a young girl who was screaming, having a tantrum, obviously meltdown. She was tired. She was begging her mom to go home. Her mom seemed intoxicated, totally out of it. Um, >> when you say that, how how did she appear? Why do you think she was >> glossy eyes just smiling at me? I was trying to talk to her. She didn't really have a reaction. >> Was she reacting to her daughter having not at all? That's why then we started to think maybe she's not her mom. Like this is weird. >> Okay. >> So then I asked her, "Are you this girl's mom?" And she said yes. Like no one not even like how dare you ask me. Like no no no reaction over Exactly. She just said yes. And then then they walked away. 10 minutes later, I had customers come to tell me, "Please call the police. We just called them. Her daughter is standing in line. She has no underwear on. She's lifting her dress up, touching herself. Her mom is falling over, banging into us." >> Um, we just tried to call the police. Please call the police. >> Then they left. Then I had people at my bar tell me the mom was reaching for their beers. just like random people at the bar trying to drink their beers. >> Okay. >> And >> it just was an uncomfortable situation. Poor girl was begging to go home and I told the mom, I said, "It's 10:00 almost. Like, she's tired. Why don't you go home? Can we call you an Uber?" >> Mhm. >> And she just she had no reaction. Like I don't know if she was drunk or on pills or she just seemed absent. >> Okay. All right. Um >> put your hand up. Can you tell me what occurred? I heard the child screaming, "Okay, >> top of the lungs just screaming and um I want to go home and she was barefooted and I actually kind of looked I kind of looked at her in a mean way cuz she was out of control >> of course." >> But uh No, it was you know, >> right? >> And everyone was watching. >> Okay. And you were inside, correct? In the inside bar. >> Okay. And you were you were at the corner where you were sitting down when I when I went in? >> Yes. >> Okay. That's where you were at. And then um so you saw the child obviously screaming and saying she wants to go home. Did you see anything else? Like did she react? Did she she didn't react. What did you see her do instead? >> She just stood there like like didn't have a clue. It was sad. >> After that, did you see anything else? >> She tried to take my beer cuz I walked away and uh just so to make sure the police came and my brother tells me they should try to take my beer. Okay. >> And that's what she was concerned with. The mother is processed at the station while arrangements are made for the child's custody and welfare. >> Okay. So, she was trying You can tell that she was trying to drink, but Okay. But she didn't get any beer from anybody else. Um, let me see. >> She asked for the bart and they said no. >> Okay. Did you see the child do anything else other than screaming and kicking? >> No. >> No. Nothing else? >> I mean, she was very distraught. It was It was sad. It was sad. Everyone was watching. Yes. >> Okay. Yeah. From the police station. >> No, from Grand View Public. >> From Grand View Public. >> Oh my god. >> Yeah. >> Um, Miss Rodriguez, who did you get? >> Her brother. >> Her brother. >> How long? >> Okay. >> Take a seat. All right, I'm going to shut this door. >> All right, just have a seat in here. You need any water? >> Okay, I'll get you some water. Okay. Um, your piercings, do they come out? >> None of the piercings come out. And your ears, they don't come out. And your glasses, they prescription. Okay. All right. Give me one second. I'll get you some water. >> Miss Rodriguez. Miss Rodriguez. Ma'am, can I pat you down real quick and then I'm going to try to get some of those piercings out? Come on, wakey wakey. Time to wake up. I need to get some of your piercings out. I got your shirt. Can you sit up? >> There you go. All right. >> Stand up real quick. All right. Going to make sure you don't have anything in your pocket. I know another officer already checked you. >> No, nothing. Okay. All right, I'm going to try to take some of your piercings off. Okay, let me look up. >> The mother was arrested for child neglect based on unsafe supervision and impaired judgment. Child protective services were contacted to ensure the child was released to a safe and appropriate guardian while the case proceeds. Remember, a parent's poor judgment, especially involving alcohol, can quickly escalate into legal consequences and child welfare intervention. Law enforcement prioritizes child safety first, even when the parent does not recognize the danger. This is the reaction of nizens to this situation. That poor little girl begging to go home broke my heart. Thank God someone called the police. This is exactly why kids don't belong in bars. No matter how normal it seems to the parent, the officers handled the child so gently. That's how policing should look. Think this situation was already intense. The body cam catches a split-second decision that changes everything. Comment if you saw it coming. The next incident is when what happens when dumb parents use their toddlers to shoplift. >> What do you have to take your kids? That's what's going to happen. >> What else on these kids belongs to the store? >> I'm not going to ask you again. >> Does that belong to them? >> You're unable to care for them at that point if you're not willing to take them and care for them. On March 17th, 20123, loss prevention and police stopped two parents at Target after recognizing them from shoplifting at the same store the previous day. This time with their children present. >> You still get >> All right. You guys have ID on you? >> ID. >> You don't have ID >> on my phone? Yeah. >> Okay. Let me see it. >> You know why we stopped you? >> Okay. You do know that you were here as well yesterday and you did the same thing yesterday. I saw you guys leaving yesterday. So, same thing yesterday, same thing today. You come back to the same stores two days in a row to shop with. >> It's a shame they got the kids involved, too. >> Officers discover stolen merchandise hidden on and worn by the children, including items placed under jackets and clothing. >> Can you get your daughter out of the shopping cart, sir? >> Do you have any weapons on you? >> Does he have ID? >> I have his. Yeah, that's her. >> You have anything on you? No weapons, no merchandise, nothing on you cuz I'm going to search you to make sure. >> Huh? >> No. >> She's asking She's asking if you have merchandise. You have merchandise. Now's the time to give it up. >> Yes. >> Okay. What else do you have? >> Do you have anything on you? >> You hide anything on the kids? >> No. >> The blue jacket? >> Take the blue jacket. Parents deny wrongdoing despite clear evidence. Officers confront them for using their kids as part of the theft, calling it especially serious. >> Your daughter, you're getting them involved in shoplift. >> Not really. You're putting stolen merchandise on your daughter. How is that not really? You bring them to shoplift from the second day of come to see. You think they're not going to notice you? >> How old are your kids? >> Five and nine. >> You went to DC have to take your kids? So, that's what's going to happen. >> Do you have somebody to pick up the kids? >> No. >> Okay. Well, guess what? They're getting called >> in the purse. There's nothing in the purse. >> No. >> Parents admit they have no one immediately available to pick up the children, triggering child welfare concerns. >> Yeah. Let me let me see. >> You said you have nobody to pick up the kids, right? >> Can I have someone to pick up my kids? >> You just said you have nobody here. >> Well, yeah. house. >> This is your tags on everything else. >> What else on these kids belongs to the store? Cuz I'm not going to ask you again. >> Does that sweater belong to that? No, >> she brought that in. >> She brought them in here. >> So, the purse belongs to them. >> I thought you just said you didn't have anybody to pick up the kids. >> Well, I do. Not here. She's probably at home. >> Clearly, there's nobody with you here. So, the question is >> Officers confirm a relative can arrive within 30 minutes. Parents are informed they are going to jail due to repeated offenses. the final time. You have something to pick up the kids. >> Yes. >> Okay. Get them >> cuz you're going to jail. >> We got to get them on the phone and see if they can get here in the next 30 minutes. >> If not, >> I'll let you go through and figure out what you saw and what they packaged to get. >> She could be here in 30 minutes to get the kids and she can have them. >> 14. >> Mistake. This is a mistake. two days in a row. >> What's her first name? >> And she'd be here 30 minutes ago. I'm just making sure she she said she's coming back. Make sure she >> dress and everything. >> Officers document that the children were directly involved and note this was the second consecutive day of shoplifting at the same Target. They >> actually had stolen merchandise on. They used her to steal merchandise. >> They're wearing it. Jesus Christ. blood sister. >> Okay. And you give her permission to take the two girls. >> Yes. >> Okay. Just want to make sure that we got that noted. >> The worst part is you got them involved. >> This is yesterday. Today is almost 7. >> Anything in your pockets? Put all of them. >> 7:24. >> 7:24. >> Yes. >> 7:24. >> My gosh. Part of the trespass that you're going to be told by this staff here, ma'am. >> You're not going to be able to come back to Target. If you come back to Target with >> Parents are formally trespassed from Target for one year and warned they will be arrested if they return. >> One year, >> you're going to go to jail. >> Okay. >> Mommy's going to be okay and daddy's going to be okay. Okay. And then when this is all over, they can talk to you about this. But unfortunately, and I'm very sorry, and I feel worse for you two that you got to see this. >> Auntie's going to come get you guys. Okay, you guys are going to go have fun with her for the day. >> Just in time, Rich. >> In time, Rich. That's what I figured. >> Okay, >> we already got all their property off. 720 bucks. They got nothing. We're still trying. We're still trying to go through it. >> Officers comfort the children, give them juice, and explain calmly that their aunt will take care of them. >> 7:31. >> 7:31. And then they did this last night >> and they took off from Target. So, he's going to go drop PC for this. So, if you can you can add that in your thing, but we're not going to charge them. Drop the off. >> I mean, it's already open, so it >> can have those. You can eat them. Okay. >> Is that your juice box? >> Is that their juice box, too? >> Oh, that's yours. Okay. >> You want an extra juice box? >> Hey, look at that. >> So nice. Apple juice. >> She was working on the sister's conversation. >> Are you still talking to sister? >> All right, I'll go get you. >> All right. Yeah, go ahead and finish that up. We got to wrap up the time coming, >> right? >> Cuz I was only letting you have it to communicate. >> Okay. >> And take everything off that you have. >> Yeah, we did. Everything's done. >> No extra clothing. >> My We already took care of all that. She's already patted. She's already been patted down. Nothing else than that. I can stay with the kids or Beth can stay with the kids and I can help you with the rest of the stuff. >> Sit down. Mommy turn on. >> Turn your hands. He got his palms together like you're going to see. Processing continues while officers ensure all stolen merchandise is recovered and logged out to the car or anything >> real quick. I just got to get the photo. They just >> photo for the nores for the trespass warning >> right here. So I don't >> What do you think I'll be out? >> Uh you have to postpone. >> You got to do the bond. >> Yeah. Thank you one day. >> What's that? You thinking on one day? >> I got to figure out where he put my car at. >> Where'd he put it? >> I don't know. >> Oh, it's right here. Got to make a joke. >> I know. I know. >> We're going to go on the right side. >> Well, like I said, hopefully this is not a reoccurring issue. >> Yeah. >> Have a seat. All right. You okay? >> Yeah. >> All right. Family members coordinate custody. Officers confirm the children are safe while parents face multiple charges, including child related offenses. >> I just have to get your recording saying that you're willing to take them. I don't know how long you're going to be have them for because there's two different charges pending. If you're unable to care for them at that point, if you're not willing to take them and care for them, >> I can't have a kid of my own, so I can't I can't. You have a kid of your own, so you can't take them. >> Well, I can't. I I I can take care of it. >> Okay. I know it's hard, but I mean, luckily, they're on spring break this week, so it might be a little bit easier. I don't know about working if you have someone that can walk. >> I Yeah, they're going to have to go to my hotel. >> Okay. >> I get to have to work. >> Okay. Your sister's got two charges penny, sir. They were in here doing it yesterday and they're doing it today and they got the kids involved in it today. So she you're the only one that she gives information to give to. So I mean you could give this to your mom if your mom if it's better for your mom to take care of them. >> I mean they're going to have to stay with my mom cuz I have to Well, I can't call out the [ __ ] stuff. They're going to stay with >> Both parents were arrested and charged with shoplifting, child neglect, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The children were released to a family member while the parents were trespassed from Target and the case proceeded through the court system. Remember, involving children in criminal activity, dramatically increases legal consequences and child welfare intervention. Repeated theft, especially at the same store, makes suspects easy to identify and prosecute. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. Using your kids to steal is next level disgusting those poor children. Two days in a row at the same store. That's not just dumb, that's reckless. The cops handled the kids with so much care. The parents should be ashamed. You think the officers were out of options here? Watch what happens next on the body cam and tell us if you would have done the same. The next incident is when >> is that why he got the guns out >> or what was the initial reason for getting them out? >> Yeah. >> She called 911 and so he said, "I'm going to get the guns and >> Yeah. Anyone comes through the front door is going to >> I got to be mad. >> Just stand right here. He They're watching him." So >> on July 14th, 2024, deputies respond after the woman's sister hears yelling over the phone and calls police. The wife initially downplays the situation as a disagreement. >> How you doing, ma'am? What's going on? >> Um, we're just having a disagreement. >> Okay. How many >> The husband becomes defensive and hostile toward deputies, refusing to cooperate and claiming nothing happened. People are in the house. >> Just my my husband and myself. >> Your husband is in there. >> Okay. Are >> there any weapons in there that I should know? >> Yes, I have my way. >> You can step out here, please. >> No, you don't need to. >> Excuse me. >> I don't need to. >> I'm asking you to please step out here. Okay. I'm conducting an investigation right now. >> Yeah. Call because we I was yelling on the >> Hold on a second. Am I being disrespectful to you? >> I know how the game plays, man. >> What game you talking about? I'm not going to get arrested for any [ __ ] because >> who says you're going to get arrested right here? >> The wife admits to long-term physical, verbal, and emotional abuse, but hesitates to describe what happened that day. >> Okay. Did nothing happen. Can I see some ID from you? And can I see some ID from >> Obviously, go get it from her. I'll ask you where it's at. Huh? >> Yes, I can get my I can get >> Okay. What's going on? means it's out of control. But I'm not going to be specific. What kind of out of control? What has he done? >> Did he use it today? >> He's very physically. >> The sister explains she heard the husband screaming, threatening, and berating the victim during phone calls. >> Did he physically hurt? >> Did he throw something at me today? >> Did he hit you? called you to show up. >> You I can't help you. >> You're not being honest. >> Yeah, exactly. But you got to call her >> I I have to get close to the doorway. >> You going to do >> But I need to know if we have a crime or not. Okay. >> I haven't done anything wrong. >> He wants to be further away >> so you can concentrate. There's plenty of people over there. Come on. >> She's been on the phone the whole time. She'll say things. >> Okay. >> Michelle, tell the tell the officer the truth. Michelle, >> Michelle, you have to tell her the truth this time. >> What do you know, ma'am? Just tell me what you know. >> The sister reports the husband sent threatening messages and yelled while the victim pleaded for him to stop. >> Their whole entire marriage started uh when they were dating. >> I need to know what happened. I need to I need to know what happened today so I can She he texts me with a text message uh saying, "Oh, she's, you know, stepping out. She's beening this guy for a year. I need you to know." And um I didn't I just ignored it. And then she called me and said, "Hey, I was in the shower. Um I'm assuming you've gotten the text messages from Ron. Um and I'm not sure, you know, I need to catch you up on things. I told him I want a divorce. I'm selling our boat. Um you know, there's some stuff we need to talk about." I said, "Okay, that's fine." And I could hear him. you. [ __ ] you. And then she was like, "Stop. Stop." I heard then he called me back. He hung up. Then he called me back. Um and I could hear him screaming at her and I said, "Ron, you need to calm down." And he's all, "Don't youing tell me to calm down." And I was like, "Okay." >> Was any Is this on FaceTime? >> No, he won't talk on FaceTime. This is all what I've heard >> in my house. >> Do you have access to look at these cameras on your phone? We're going to disconnect so she can see the camera footage and show me. Okay. >> Okay. No worries. Thank >> Thank you so much. >> All right. You're welcome. >> So, today maybe >> Yeah. I I've got really bad My contacts are really >> The victim reveals the husband threw her phone at her, striking her arm during the argument. >> Like, >> look. You don't mind me looking? >> No, you're fine. I like I said, I've hardly >> like What time did we receive the call? I'm trying to look at the video cameras. So, we got it at 3:59. Would you say that it was just prior to that? This is 338ish. I think >> you're going to hear cuz that camera will record everything in the house. So, you can hear him yelling at me even in >> Okay. The hearing isn't as important as what I'm seeing on a camera. If he hit you or or threw something at you to hit you, like an attempt to hit you, then we might have a violence. >> No, that happened living room and there was no cameras in the living room. >> Okay. So, something like that did happen. She further states the husband pulled weapons from the closet, saying he would light them up if anyone came inside. >> He threw something at you to hit you. >> My my phone. >> So what? >> My phone. >> So he threw your phone >> at me? >> His phone at you? >> Yeah. >> I didn't want him to It's not pulling it up. >> I don't want I don't want to ruin his flight. I just >> so what what would you like us what how can we help you if we have a charge? It may not be up to you. It may be up to us but we need to know from your from your mouth what happened and just summarize it >> here. Summarization is that um >> got into an argument because of the 16. >> Yeah. We've been dealing with this for like the last three months, >> but kind of fast forwarded. It exploded today >> again and again and again and again and again. >> So, what happened? What did he do? >> Um, he just wants to continually scream and yell at me, throw everything in my face. Now he's calling my sister, my parents. I was literally I took a shower, sat on the couch, he was taking my phone from me, screaming and yelling, and he was saying that, and I don't want to say this out loud because again, all these all the weapons in the house are mine. Um, he keeps saying he's going to go. >> The victim describes prior assaults, including being grabbed, shoved into a medicine cabinet, property destruction, and holes in the walls >> and hurt him, kill him, and then he then that's when he started getting all the weapons out of the closet and all my stuff. >> He's getting the weapons out today. >> Right now, >> for what? >> Um, because he said that if anyone comes in the house, he's going to light them up. >> Okay. Well, that could be that could be interpreted not as a crime um because of the surrounding statements if he said I'm going to but the condition part is not going to be considered a crime. But I more importantly, did he say threaten suicide? Did he threaten to kill you? Did he say anything like that? That was direct, not a conditional. >> You guys, >> what did he say? >> He said if you guys went in the house, that's why I was trying to stop him. If you listen to recordings, >> stop touching the weapons. Knock it off. And kept saying, "If they come through this door, I'm going to light them up." I've always tried to protect everyone in my wrong. >> All right. So, stand out here for just a moment so I can get a partner so he can hear us. We can hear it together. Okay. Just stay right here. All right. Tell Tell him again about the phone in the arm. >> Yeah. So, what happens? >> You know, he grabs my phone and he throws it at me. Um he's done it multiple times. He broke um m go living room stuff he smashed and everything on the floor. You'll see holes in the walls. But again um I don't know what else to tell you. I was just sitting on the couch and just make it go away. >> Despite fear, the victim is reluctant to press charges, saying she wants a divorce but doesn't want to ruin his life. Okay. So, he came over and grabbed your phone today >> multiple times. >> And then what did you say when he grabbed your phone? >> Just stop. Please don't break it. Please don't break it. >> Okay. >> That's all I have. >> And then once you said please don't break it, what did he do? >> Um, he grabbed it and they uh multiple times and he's he's thrown it at me multiple times, too. >> When you say throw it at you, I I know it's a silly question, but how does he throw it at you? Like I was sitting on the couch with my legs closed, just quiet and he just throw his throw it at my arm and um then the next time he took it and he threw it at this arm. >> So did it hit your arm? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Was that Can you point on your arm where it hit your arm? >> Um well, this is a different one, but I'm sure this would be another >> that the other the other day. Not today. A different day. >> From what though? What happened? From him grabbing me. And I already >> How did he grab you? Did he just walk up and grab your arms? Did he push you? Did he >> I was in the bathroom. We were getting ready to go to bed. And um he was throwing a fit that night and um I remember him grabbing here and then he um hit me up in my chest with my medicine cabinet. I had a bruise here too at the same time. >> Okay. It got him throwing your phone at you. >> No, that's in the living room. You can hear everything he's saying about the guns about coming into the house. >> Oh, okay. >> You can you're going to hear everything he said, too. You can hear everything in the house from this camera. >> Okay. Okay. Let's try and pull that up. >> Like he was getting all the guns out and I was trying to tell him to stop. He's like kept saying he's gonna whoever comes in this house, me and you guys, he's going to light you up. And I'm like, you're not doing that. I'm a good girl. >> Okay. Is that why he got the guns out or what was the initial reason for getting him out? >> Yeah. >> Said she called 911 and so he said, "I'm going to get the guns and >> Yeah. Anyone comes through the front door is going to light them up. >> Okay. >> I don't know where you want me to start. >> Deputies explain that domestic violence arrests are mandatory when probable cause exists. The husband is taken into custody. >> Do you want to fill out a statement of what happened today? >> All I do is I'm going to file for a divorce. I'm an amicable. I just want to split things up and let it go. I mean, he's just he's like blessing and living hell. >> Okay. Okay. >> I just I just want to get out the safe way. >> Yeah, >> that's it. I know. And yes, I've had a couple of drinks. I did. >> That's fine. >> We started texting. There was nothing to it. I never touched anyone else. I've never cheated. I've never done any of that. Yes, it was inappropriate. I get it. But I never did anything wrong. >> Okay, that's that even in If it is inappropriate, it doesn't give anyone right to put their hands on you or hit you with stuff. So, what I'm asking is today's incident about him yelling, throwing the phone at you, stuff like that. Would you like to write that down on paper? >> How is that going to work? No. I I don't want to ruin his life. He's got to go to work and I just want him be able to get out safely without the repercussions. >> Okay. So, >> you don't understand how bad this is for me. >> So, >> it's not easy. I got you, honey. I don't understand. You're right. I've never been in your situation. But unfortunately, now that we're here, it's no longer in your hands. It's no longer in his hands. It's in my hands. And if I have enough to make an arrest, I'm making an arrest because it's domestic. He doesn't have a choice. You don't have a choice. Okay? So, all I'm really asking is, would you like to put it on paper? If you don't want to, you don't have to. I'm still going to make my decision based off what I heard today. >> Just stand right here. He They're watching him, so just stay right here. You'll be safe. Okay. Hope you're happy. This is what you wanted, right? >> Okay. What? Don't ever. >> You know what? I didn't do anything domestic. >> What? I didn't do anything domestic. >> What's domestic I do? >> You're in custody. You have the right to remain silent. You understand his rights. >> Take a step back. Make sure. Hold on. >> All right. Take a step back. >> Step back. >> The husband was arrested and charged with simple battery, assault, and criminal mischief. bond was set at $2,000 and the case proceeded through the domestic violence court process while the victim remained under police protection. Remember, domestic violence often escalates quietly over time and victims may struggle to speak out even when police are present. Threats involving weapons, even conditional ones, significantly increase danger and law enforcement response. This is the reaction of netisonens to this situation. This is why victims hesitate. Fear, guilt, and manipulation all at once. The sister probably saved her life by calling the police. Threatening to grab guns instantly turns this into a deadly situation. The tension is already high. Or so it seems. What the body cam captures next saves a life pause and comment what you do here. The next incident is when police save little kids from extremely irresponsible mother. >> Yes. Yes. What you >> told this? >> Cuz he has a twoy old, a oney old, a newborn, and another one in December. So you got key threw into the windshield of the vehicle knowing that his onemonth-old was in the front seat. >> I'm just >> on November '05, 2022. Police responded to a domestic disturbance involving a father allegedly throwing a deadly object at a vehicle occupied by his children. Initial reports state a bike was thrown at the windshield. Where's the do I pay these bills here? Ask her who pay these bills. You don't pay. I pay these bills. I move here. >> So then I said, "You're not on my son birth certificate." Okay, I'm going to do it to you. I'm not going to hit you. But he was like, >> according to the father, the mother refused to hand over the child, rolled up the car window, and attempted to drive away. He says he feared for his safety and his child's well-being due to her irrational behavior. >> Check my baby, please. >> Yeah. >> Check on your baby. >> Yes, cuz you th my baby. So you going to really sit HERE RIGHT NOW? >> YES. YES. WHAT YOU TALKING? I TOLD you I told you try to do this because they pulled up. Come on. >> So like I was saying, >> bro, you >> Hey, you can't say to me no more. >> I'm still getting your sign. >> Yes, ma'am. Okay. >> So you go to say buy another son. >> Yeah. So I say let me see my son. So when I when I ask for my son, she said no. So now I'm sitting here like, "What the is you trying to hold my son for?" Like, "What is your what is your what is you gaining from trying to hold my son again?" So now she getting mad. So I'm trying to open the door cuz now she trying to take off with my son. So when she trying to take off with my son, I'm trying to do get my son out of here now because I don't know what she got going on. She is irrational. She's always been irrational. It is it it is it is in y'all books of her being irrational. The mother reports hearing loud impacts and discovering a bike lodged under her vehicle and damage to the windshield. She claims the father intentionally threw the bike during the confrontation. >> Okay. So, what did you do when you tried to get your son? >> Well, I tried opening the door first. >> The vehicle? >> Yes. But I tried opening the door first. Like I moved us here. I pay these bills here. The do I pay these bills here? Ask who pay these bills? You don't pay. I pay these bills. I moved us here. >> What up? >> What? I Man, I moved us here. YEAH. YEAH. I got receipts talking about your name. >> What? >> Your name? >> Oh, Juan know who I am. >> Let's stop this. >> I'm not together. >> Jose know who I man. You don't never say nothing to me, man. >> All right. Do me a favor. Let me go look at the car. You just stay there. Okay. >> That's why I don't say nothing to you. >> Let me come over here. Show me what's going on. >> My family. >> All right. You right. You right. You you you absolutely right. You know that. You absolutely right. >> What? So, what happened? >> I I was in the bathroom. I heard a boom bang. I I thought it was my dog out here chasing lizards at first along the house. >> Officers confirm there is no formal custody agreement and the father is not listed on the birth certificate. Ownership of the vehicle is disputed but legally registered to the mother. >> So I heard the boom and the bang. I didn't eventually know but then I heard I heard it again. So I came outside. When I came outside, she was backed up right there. That bike was like up under his wheel. >> Mhm. >> So I asked her what was going on. She said he th that windshield. >> Do you have footage of him do it? >> Um, no. But he is responsible for that. >> All right. I just want to get your side still. So, do you guys have like a court agreement or anything like that? >> What do you mean? I don't I don't get that. My son's a month old. You know what I'm saying? I don't I don't I don't get what you mean by that. Like he's literally 5 weeks old. Well, do you guys have like an agreement like you get certain days or >> certain days? Ma'am, I live here. I moved here. So, you still live here? >> You want me to grab my clothes out of here? >> No, I I see what you're saying. Who's that guy? >> I supposed to be bumble, man. You know somebody that claims Oh, this my niece. >> Okay. Yeah. Yeah. So, is that your car, too? >> I bought it. >> Is it in your name? >> No, ma'am. I put it in her. This one is >> So, regarding the windshield, what happened? >> Okay. So, when I try to open the door, remember I told you about me trying to open the door? She backed up. Now, remember I said she's irrational. So when she back up, she lies on me. Now when you back up, you're supposed to back up that way, right? Where at, right? >> The father admits he threw the bike, claiming it was done defensively to stop the car from backing toward him. >> Supposed to back up to that way so he can come out this way, right? You back up and aim it directly towards me. I'm not going to let her hit me. >> Yeah. All right. You know what I'm saying? >> No, I'm good. >> I'm not going to let her hit me with that car, man. That shit's crazy, man. What you What you even backing up for? I didn't show no aggression. I said, "Man, oh, let me see my son, man." >> And he was in the back, obviously, in a car seat. >> Tell me where I'm wrong. If I'm wrong, tell me where I'm wrong. I don't know. Tell me if I'm wrong. If I'm wrong, tell me where I'm wrong. >> Well, I mean, I'm asking I'm getting there, but did you throw the bike at the windshield >> once you start coming forward? Yes, I did. >> He insists he aimed to block the vehicle, not strike the windshield, but acknowledges knowing the newborn was seated in the front passenger seat in a car seat. >> Okay. And what was that? Just for like defense. just to have her stop and when she stopped I left. >> I ain't continue nothing. I even left my son's bag my daughter bag right there. That's why I came back over here and picked it up. >> Right. I'm just going to summarize it real quick. On your way out, I want to say by the sun, right? She says no. You go to open which car door do you go to open? >> Well, actually I lied. He wasn't in the back seat. He actually was in the passenger seat. If you >> in a car seat. >> Yes, ma'am. If you probably go there, probably stay right there. Pay attention to that. Um Okay. So instead of me trying to go over there by the bushes, I'm like, "Hand them to me." When she said no, that's when I tried to open the door cuz I'm going to reach across and just get him. >> That's right. >> So she was like, "No." And she's like, "No." I'm like, "Damn." Like, "What you mean no?" Where you going to take him out? Man, I'm not going to take Man, give me my son, man. And that's when she backed up and try backing up. Now, if a person start backing up a car on you, you going to go into defense mode. Right. >> Right. >> Okay. She say she want to talk so much about that camera. You'll see her do that. You want to talk about that camera? Have them pull up that damn camera. So, her vehicle was faced that way. >> It was facing this way, like this way. >> The mother states the bike hit the windshield, shattering glass inside the car with fragments landing on the baby. Paramedics later check the child and instruct her to clean glass from the baby's hair and car seat. >> Let me go talk to her. You're not going to leave, are you? >> No, man. All right. >> All right. What happened? >> We started up arguing on the inside cuz he was trying to tell me what to do with my child pretty much. I told him like cuz he has multiple kids and I was telling him I understand that this is me and your first child together but this is not my first child. I got plenty of kids that I keep all the time. I told him stop trying to tell me what to do. You don't tell your other baby mas what to do with their kids. Cuz he has a 2-year-old to one newborn and another one. So you got kids. I told him, "Don't tell me what to do. You don't tell them what to do with their kids. That's aggravating." So then I said, "You not on my son birth certificate. Okay, I'm going to do it to you. I'm not going to hit you." But he was like like he was going to. And now I was on the phone. I said, "Hit me if you want to. Like you're going to jail. Hit me if you want to." So he fat off and walked away. So I put my baby in the car and my newborn was already in the car. So we we was waiting his car was crunk up because he was leaving already too. He put his daughter in the car. So we was waiting for him to go. So he came up to my window, my driver side window and he was like, "Let me get my son." And I said, "No." And then he was like, "Let me get my son." I said, "I don't have to. You're not on his birth certificate." So he tried to hit my car with the bicycle twice on my driving window. So I backed out real fast and he threw it and hit my windshield. But when he hit my windshield, obviously the glass went everywhere on the inside. So it got on my baby, which the paramedics already checked out. But it hit right there. But my uncle has a ring camera. So the moment I stop my car, I called my uncle. I said, "Uncle James, call the police." I said, "Cuz he gonna go to jail." And he was talking all that. And I said, "I don't care. He got a ring camera. It's going to show that you did it." And then you left. And then he came back. And when he came back, I said, "That's okay." Cuz I already called the police. So when y'all got here, he's like, I was like, "You really doing this?" Yes. You threw a bike at my car with both of my kids in it. Both my kids been crying since you did it. You put my first child's life in danger. Anyways, there's glass in his. She confirms she wants to press charges and references a Ring camera that allegedly captured the incident. >> Here, the paramedics told me to comb it out with um a comb and stuff and to change his clothes and to vacuum out his car seat and stuff. But yeah, I'm pressing charges. Then he started to say, "You paid for this. You're not on this." And I gave you back the three grand. And even even if you did pay for it, you're not on it. It's a gift. I'm the only person that own my car. So all that you paid for it, that don't matter. That was I've had my car for over a year after making every other payment. It don't matter if you even if you gave me the money for a payment, it's still mine. That's your fault. That's a gift. >> Baby's okay, though. >> Yeah, I still got to get the rest of the glass ice here, but I want to press charges. So, >> okay. Yep. Give us a second. It'll take long. >> All right, Darl. So, here's the thing. You knew that your son was in the front seat in the car seat, correct? >> Yes. >> Okay. And you threw the bike into the windshield. Whether or not it was in defense for me to get out of the way or not, you knew that your onemonth old was >> Officers explained that regardless of intent, throwing an object at a vehicle with a child inside constitutes a serious criminal offense. the front seat. >> Well, honestly, I didn't really try to hit the windshield. >> I know. Like, >> you know, I tried to hit the front, so if she was to go, she hit the bike. >> Got it. So, do me a favor, okay? Just turn around. We're going to do it the easy way, right? >> It'll work it out. And you said your dad's coming. >> Cuz you threw the bike in the windshield, which one damaged the windshield. Two, put your turn. >> Turn it off. >> Your dad's coming for your daughter. >> Uh, well, actually, I'm trying to see if my brother Oh, my brother could come before my dad. My dad stayed all the way in. um pairs. So >> either way, we could have somebody that is family to come get your daughter. >> I'm trying to do all that right now. >> Well, we'll we'll work with you. We're not just Is the car on? >> No. >> Hey honey, it's okay. What's your name? What's your name? It's okay. >> I ain't run this time or nothing. >> The action that went wrong was when you threw the bike at the vehicle. >> What about What about if she was to try to hit me again? But what do I what do I go wrong here? What if I'm here? >> Did you have time to get out of the way? >> I didn't know if I had time to I can't ride car. >> Police begin arrest procedures. The father becomes emotional and repeatedly expresses concern for his daughter who is still present at the scene. >> Uh in the process of her backing up, I did. Hey, >> what's your daughter's name? Test. >> Hey, make sure you have my money, too. Just don't even interact. >> Just let her talk. And >> yeah, we're going to move it. Don't worry. >> You got anything tucked in you, man? >> Cool, man. They got small ass things, man. Come on, man. Call them so I can make sure they come and sub my daughter, man. >> I know. Just have a seat. >> Right now. >> This is not going to be like We're leaving in a second. All right. And we're going to be sitting down for a few minutes. All right. >> I know. That's why I'm trying to I'm trying to get be able to make sure they coming. What if What if they not coming? >> I got to make sure somebody's coming. >> Well, yeah. We're not going to leave without us knowing. And somebody's going to stay here with your daughter. >> I have to make sure, man, that I'm telling you, man. >> Who's somebody that you want to call? >> I'm trying to figure I've been trying to figure this out all the time. The whole time >> before y'all even came. I didn't run. I didn't leave. I've been trying to call them. I got to make sure something. My mom's in Orlando. I try to call my mom. That one right here. No. Yeah. >> Is he with you? >> Yeah, that's my uh my right. >> Okay, stay in the car or >> what's going on? >> So, listen, man. I'm um I need you to take my car. I know she I know she could talk. I need you my daughter in the car right now. I need uh take my daughter. My sister has her own thing. My mom in Orlando, my dad ain't paired. If you can hold on to it for a second, it ain't going to be long and it going to be a few hours. >> It's sliding. I'll put the window down. All right. >> What? What? What is going >> officers coordinate with family members to ensure the father's daughter is safely released to a responsible adult before transport like the charge and stuff >> uh right now throwing a deadly missile on a vehicle >> throwing a deadly miss. >> So here's the situation. They were they were in an argument >> was fine. It went south when he picked up the vehicle um little kid's bike threw it into the windshield of the vehicle knowing that his onemonth-old was in the front seat. I'm just >> Okay, that's where the issue comes. So, that's what he's going for. The issue that we have right now is his daughter's in his car. So, we need somebody to be able to take custody of her right now so she can leave. >> I got it. She said her name was Isaiah. >> Hey, Jade. Hey, >> you need to move. You need move this right now. 3 20th Street Avenue. >> Uh yeah. >> Officers formally identify the charge as throwing a deadly missile into an occupied vehicle, emphasizing that the presence of an infant significantly escalates the severity. >> We're trying to fix that out right now. Sometimes when comes with custody a kid, you know, I can't >> Oh, no. I ain't talking about the kid part yet. That's between them, the car part. Yeah. We got right. >> Okay. >> But 6104. We got something in the process, but it's just not going to happen right now. Okay. >> So, yeah, before y'all go type of thing. Yeah. As long as it's over there so I can come in and out or anybody else can, that's fine. >> It's on 1074. >> Hey, Jade. Hey, honey. Are you Jade? Yeah. Jade. Yeah, that's a nice name. >> Yeah. >> Are you going to stay here for a second so I can throw jewelry? >> You're supposed to say this. You read this. It makes sense. You go open the door if you want to. >> Oh, you're good. >> Okay. >> Just overall pictures, that's all. >> I mean, that's up to you if you want to drive with a windshield like that, but I mean, I probably wouldn't advise it because the wind blowing on it will probably blow it in. But I mean I think Safe Flight or what through insurance they repair it for free. >> That's what I was telling them. >> Yeah. But I mean regardless right now the charge is you know throwing a deadly weapon or a missile into a a vehicle. So >> Hey, how long how long is it going to take for me to uh get out? >> 3 4 hours. 3 4 hours. >> That's some bull. What's your preferences? >> I think the the issue comes with if you were afraid that she was going to hit you, right? She's reversing. if you had time to. >> Officers explained that while the father's concern for his child is understandable, he had safer legal alternatives, such as calling police instead of intervening physically. >> You pick up the bike at that time, you had room to move or vacate the area, throwing and I hear what you're saying, but throwing the bike into the windshield knowing your sponges in the front seat. That's where it comes from there. Um, do you care or mind if I just take a picture of the little one since he was the one that was in harm's way? >> No, I don't mind. There's actually a piece of glass that I see. >> I said glass in his hair still. >> I'm just going to see a picture. I just want to show that the glasses on there. >> Oh, damn it. >> He's adorable. >> Thank you. >> So, for a restraining order clerk of the court, you can go down to the station, get a copy of the report through that case number. Um that'll help you with the restraining order. Um did he ever put his hands on you or it was verbal? And then this is kind of what was the icing on the cake? It >> was mainly for you mean while I went a restrain order or you mean just today? >> Just today. >> Just today. No, he didn't. >> Okay. I'm going to take him. My partner is going to more than likely um >> wait for the car. >> For the car and then there somebody's going to come if not his friend or whoever that is. >> Um take his daughter. >> Okay. >> Okay. All right. >> All right. So what's your two relation? You're given custody of your daughter. >> I'm cousin. >> Okay. >> How do you spell your first name? >> A R T I E. >> What? >> 51 SSO jail, one black male, story mileage. Five. >> I thought that me not put my hands on her protecting myself. I did the right thing. >> You did. You did until you threw the thing into the windshield. You could have called us and said, "My child's mother is not allowing me to take my son. He's in the front seat in a car seat that is not secured and I'm afraid she's going to drive off. I know your intentions were good as far as, you know, being concerned for him. It's just the >> the father was arrested and charged with throwing a deadly missile into an occupied vehicle, a felony offense. Officers determined that despite his stated intent to stop the vehicle, he knowingly through an object that shattered a windshield while his one-month-old child was inside, placing the child at risk of serious injury. The child was medically evaluated and released, and arrangements were made for the father's daughter to be placed with family. Remember emotional reactions during custody disputes can turn a family argument into a criminal case in seconds. Even defensive actions become criminal when a child is placed in immediate danger. This is the reaction of netisonens to this situation. Both parents failed here, but throwing the bike crossed the line. I get his fear, but that could have seriously hurt the baby. This is why custody issues should never be handled in the driveway. Think this situation was already intense. The body cam catches a split-second decision that changes everything. Comment if you saw it coming. The next incident is when police rescue three kids from a mother far too dangerous to raise them. >> And at that time I heard crying in the hallway. So I went out there and I asked him what was wrong. And so he kept saying he did it. He did it. So when I reviewed the cameras and that's when I seen that the person had took a bed into the bathroom and I said >> on May 25th, 2023, a school administrator reports hearing a child crying and repeatedly saying he did it. prompting a camera review that allegedly shows a teacher striking a student. >> And at that time, I heard crying in the hallway. So, I went out there and I asked him what was wrong. And so, he kept saying, "He did it. He did it." So, when I reviewed the cameras, that's when I seen that this person had took the bed into the bathroom. And I said, "I can't go like this." >> Police arrive and begin speaking with the teacher, who says he is confused and claims a 26-year career with no prior issues. >> Uh, somebody just dropped me off that stop. >> All right. I just want to talk to you real quick about like the whole school. >> Yeah, cuz I need to talk about that cuz I'm confused. >> Okay. >> I am really confused about this. >> Uhhuh. >> I am. >> Okay. Well, I'll wait for my partner to come talk. >> No problem. >> Yeah. >> This good enough right here? >> Yeah, you're fine right there. It's fine. >> All right. Yeah. I'm so uh I'm so confused, man. I've been in that I've been doing that going on 26 plus years. >> Yeah. They said that you were hired there in like 2013 or something like that. >> No, but no, what it was I was hired in 98. >> See, it used to be county ed took over, but then Lutra took over. So, I've been there like 26 years. >> Okay. Um, I'm going to I'm going to read you your rights just because like I said, the school called DCF. >> I'm going to jail. >> Well, I didn't say you are. You aren't. Oh, I'm just saying I have some questions for you about the whole thing. >> The officer reads the teacher his Miranda rights, explaining that the school has already contacted DCF and licensing authorities. >> Okay. >> Before I ask you any questions, I have to advise you of your rights. >> Okay. All right. All right. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. >> So, you got you said you got a phone call today from them. >> Yes. >> And what exactly did they say? Um they said there was an incident with >> um today between him and another teacher. >> Okay. >> Um they said that uh the teacher disciplined him. >> Um they caught it on camera, but they couldn't really specify if he did or not. That's what they were telling me at first. >> But um >> Did they show you the video? >> Yes. And I'm trying to get access to it, but they did it. >> Okay. I'll deal with them. >> She's the director. I'm her supervisor. Nice to meet you. >> We've been dealing with this all day. I was going to say I saw it happen like 11 something a.m. >> Yeah. >> When it happened, we took care of it immediately. >> Did the police get called at that time or No. >> No. Um what we and what we do is internal. >> School officials state the incident occurred earlier that day, was handled internally, and the teacher was terminated immediately. >> We call DCF. We've already called DCF. We've already called licensing. >> Um >> yeah, we do self-report. >> Sure. Yeah, I figured as much. >> Um >> he's been terminated. >> Okay. So, but what happened was was having issues in his classroom. His teacher was initially bringing him to me. >> Okay. >> And Mr. Robinson Kate was standing in his doorway and told her he kind of intercepted her bringing him to me. >> Oh, so it's not his teacher. It was a different teacher. >> Yeah, it was a different teacher. Um, and when he did, he said he was going to talk. Well, he took him in the bathroom and brought him back out to his teacher. And at that time I heard crying in the hallway. So I went out there and I asked the woman. >> The administrator explains the child was taken into a bathroom by the teacher and later came out crying repeatedly accusing him >> was wrong. And he kept saying he did it, he did it. So I told this teacher, I said, "Let me bring him here at my office. Let me calm him down." And I sat um down, you know, put had some calming music on. >> Sure. >> And let him, you know, relax and breathe. And he ended up coming down. And so he kept saying he did it. He did it. Well, his sister already said she was like, "Yeah, Mr. Robson said that um he would talk to him." So I was like, "Okay, let me go back and review the camera since the baby keeps saying he did it." >> So when I reviewed the cameras and that's when I seen that Mr. Robson had took a baby into the bathroom and I say go like this. >> Can I see the video? >> Yes, you can. >> Do you understand each of these rights I have explained to you? >> Yeah, I understand. >> Having these rights in mind, do you wish to talk to me? >> Yeah, I'll talk to you. >> Okay. So, what exactly? >> What exactly happened yesterday? >> Okay. What happened yesterday is I'm confused cuz they called me in the office >> and they said uh Mr. Robertson, the lady on the she was on the three-way phone, right? >> Mhm. >> And she was the uh head start director. I'm sending you home for the day because uh you were seen whooping a child Mason in the bathroom. Mason. Who's Mason? >> That's what they told me. >> They told me Mesa. That's where I'm confused at. I went to the bathroom. Let me stand. So they the girl brought him down there. I went to the bathroom and I told him, "You need to stop doing what you doing. You need to stop. You so hardheaded. You come to school to Ike up and show out." You see the video? >> I watched the video. Yeah, >> that's all. That's all I was doing is how come go from Mason Coleman down this star director >> told me that. And then filler uh uh Ashley Bere now y'all telling me it's a bagel. She see me every day. She don't know. She just know me by. They call me Uncle Pocket. So that's what she know me by. >> Okay. Yeah. She said she had no idea. >> The teacher claims he only verbally corrected the child and denies hitting him, saying the video is being misinterpreted. >> She'll know about it by my real name, Mr. Robinson. >> Now you're telling me >> So you're doesn't know you by your name? >> Well, she just know when she come >> blood related or is this >> No, no, no, no. Yeah, but they've been together married. Yeah. So, >> okay. And uh so I go from Mesa and so they had the door closed, right? So I was down like this. You need to stop doing what you do. You don't come to school to show and blah blah this and that. That's all I was doing. >> That's all that was. >> Okay, I'm going to be straight up with you, right? I watched the video. That does not look like what what happened. Okay, >> by the you don't see me hitting nobody or doing nothing to nobody. The officer directly states the video shows the teacher swinging his arm toward the child, contradicting his explanation. >> Pretty clear. >> Yeah, you swing back your arm and you come forward. >> No, I was doing this. I was but the door was Why? >> The door's only it's a half door stops half. >> But they didn't see me hitting him or nothing. But I don't understand how I go from Mason to >> I don't know about that part of it. I know that after that incident in the bathroom, he left the class. Uh-huh. >> And he like was crying in the hallway and then he >> he came down the hall crying. >> Correct. Yeah, I know. >> brought him there. >> Yep. So, >> yeah. >> Okay. So, you're saying you didn't hit him at all? >> No, I didn't hit him at all. >> So, why would he say that? >> I don't know. But I didn't hit him. >> Right. Cuz when they talked to you about it in the office, she said that you told her that you were given permission by mom to help him pull up his pants cuz he's diaper trainer. >> That was a de totally different child. >> Oh, okay. >> That was me. Mama called me and told me. She called just called the phone in the office >> and told me uh how he doing. >> Honestly, they told me it was nice and >> that's what I don't understand. >> Okay. Um you know, >> well, listen, that that's what they said. I watched the video. It seems to be consistent with you know, I I just not damn time down here. I was down like this. You need to stop doing what you doing cuz you ain't come to school to show why. Despite continued denials, the officer determines probable cause based on video and witness statements. >> Okay. All right. So, here's the deal, right? Just put your hands behind your back. >> Uhhuh. >> And turn around. >> Can I call my son while I want to lock my door? >> Turn around. >> Okay. >> Okay. >> Here. Face him. I'll turn that way. There you go. >> All right. So, you are going to be placed under arrest. Okay. >> Okay. The teacher is placed under arrest, handcuffed, and escorted to the patrol vehicle. Just >> put your hands together like you're praying. Well, like palms together. There you go. Yeah. >> Perfect. >> They too tight or they good? >> You can show 83. Uh, >> yeah. >> Yep. Yep. >> I'm a different call sign every day. You good? >> Little tight. All right, hold on. >> That's good. That's good. That's good. >> You got anything in your pocket? >> No, just my wallet. >> What's this over here? >> Oh, that's it. Hell, I need that. >> Okay. Yeah, you can bring that. >> You want to take your phone or you want to leave it in the house? >> Well, I want to call him. >> Okay. Yeah, we can do that. And uh uh what >> was he inside? Cuz I talked to him just before. >> Uh >> his car is here still. So he should be here somewhere. >> Blue car out there. >> There's blue cars out there. Yeah, I think so. >> Yeah, the little Hyundai with the >> the Genesis out there now. >> Should be. It was here like 2 minutes ago. >> All right. I got your phone. I got your wallet and stuff. Let's go to my car real quick. >> I can't take them. >> They're not going to let you take those into jail, though. What about do with that as >> huh? >> That as that just dropped on the floor. >> What you think it is though? >> I just grabbed them and put open the door and put it on the thing. >> I think I got another one. Do I need my wallet? >> If you want it. If you don't want it, we can put it in the house for you. >> I would say take it with you because then you'll have a credit card and stuff. When you get out, you can get a taxi home >> or you can whatever. Call your son and come get it. The door's open. Yeah. >> You said you have another extension in your pocket. >> It should be. I had it deep >> deep deep down in the oven. >> I don't see one unless it's in a different pocket in this pocket. Maybe. >> No, it probably would have failed. >> Let's make sure just like that. Confused about >> So, why didn't you call me yesterday when I called you? >> Cuz I was at work. I got a g. What do you mean I can't be your job? >> I said no. Your job is on my job. >> I called you at like 4 in the afternoon. Turn. >> I can't answer my phone. >> What job were you at? >> I've been working at UPS. >> Oh, I thought you meant at the school. >> Oh. Uh-uh. >> I didn't know you had two jobs. >> I've been for two years. >> Oh, okay. All right. We'll take all your stuff. >> Come on. So, let me ask you this then. Your your son just called you like a few minutes ago, right? >> No, I came from that way. >> No, no, no. Your son called you cuz I heard him talk to you on the phone. >> Yeah. >> He called you in front of me, right? And then he said that >> he asked me how long I'm going to be. Yeah. I told him I was on the way. >> No. You said you were at your girlfriend's house and you weren't coming home. >> No, I didn't say that. >> That's what he told me. >> No, I told him I'll be there in a few minutes. >> Okay. And so why didn't you call me back? >> Wait, you ain't need no number for me? I called you like five times yesterday and I left you a message on my phone. >> I left you a message like 10 minutes ago. Put >> it on my phone. >> Yeah, your number's uh 16. >> I let my son know, right? >> Okay. >> Is it open? How do I open it? >> What? >> Your son? >> No, my son. >> Yeah, you said you want me to. >> The teacher was terminated by the school and arrested by police. He was formally charged with child abuse with the case proceeding through the criminal court system alongside a DCF investigation. Remember, any physical contact by school staff can quickly escalate into a criminal case when captured on camera. Mandatory reporters and surveillance footage play a major role in protecting children and triggering investigations. This is the reaction of netzens to this situation. Cameras don't lie if it wasn't recorded. This might have been ignored. No excuse for putting hands on a child, especially as a teacher. This is exactly why schools involve DCF immediately. You think this call can't get worse? The body cam captures the exact second officer's Russian comment. If you felt that spike, >> 790, can you send us a squad? She's got a bunch of looks like she's up or thrown into my car. >> Do you remember specifically where she was? On April 23rd, 2025, officers responded to a report of a woman found lying in the roadway with severe injuries, appearing as if she had been beaten or thrown from a vehicle. >> 79, can you send us a squad? She's got a bunch of looks like she's been up or thrown from a car. >> Do you remember specifically where she was in the roadway? >> She's like right here, right? >> The woman is barely able to speak and cannot explain what happened as paramedics rush her to the hospital. >> What's going on? >> I'm I'm mastering. What's that? >> My house is over there. >> Your house is over there? >> Yeah. >> Okay. What What How'd you get here? >> Um 790. Can you send us a squad? Can I get that, please? >> Where' they find her? >> Right here. >> She's just laying in the road. >> Witnesses describe finding her sitting upright in the street, badly injured and unable to stand, prompting an emergency 911 call. >> The roadway. I can't get anything from her. So, I >> All right, >> we want to get her We'll get her in there and we'll try to figure out who she is later. >> You know what happened? What did you see when you showed up? >> Got here 3 minutes ago. >> Sitting out here >> just sitting there. >> Do you remember specifically where she was in the roadway? >> She was like right here, right? >> I just had I just wanted to put her in the car. >> Yeah. Get her out of the road. >> Yeah. Okay. He was here before me >> and she was just laying like she was sitting upright with her legs crossed. >> Okay. Where was she at when you guys came across? So I I literally cuz there was a car coming when I was on the phone with 911. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> So I was like, "Fuck that." I did a U-turn, put my four-ways on, and I stopped right in front of her, dude. >> So she she was right here. >> She was like right in front of this house right here. >> Yeah. Like I don't know if she came out of this house. I don't know if she got dropped, dude. She looked like she got by a semi. >> I know. I know. >> So she was about right right here. >> I don't know. Like >> she was like she couldn't even stand up. >> Yeah. Very very odd. >> She was trying and she was like, "I'm good. I'm good. I'm like, "No, sweetheart. I'm on the phone with 911. They're on their way. Just don't move." You know, >> did when did this happen? Just today? >> Yes. >> Or has it been happening for a while? >> Just today? All of it today? >> Um, I don't know. Yeah, it's real. >> That's not her mom. >> Grand or something? >> Do you guys know what she was up to? >> Last week she was in detox. She was away from that guy. >> Okay. >> What was it? Saturday till Friday. Correct. And she got out. family members reveal a history of abuse, threats, addiction struggles, and a violent boyfriend she had recently returned to after detox. >> And on Saturday, right back to me. >> So that was like 4 days ago. >> She never came She never came home. Okay. And then we She came home Monday. >> Yes. >> Um she was typical. She was a little bit more >> The last time I saw her, she was really upset. She's hellbent on being with that guy. He messaged me on her phone again, threatening me on Monday, I think it was. He said that he was going to kill me and that he's not going to leave me or my sister alone and he's going to keep being persistent pretty much. And then now we're here with her and she's been there for days. >> Okay. So, >> I'm sure we could find her car there. >> No, we found her car. It's at a bar um close by to the house. >> Tuesdays. She hasn't usually been working. She's been at that guy's house. Every Tuesday she has she's been at that guy's house for weeks. >> Police execute a search warrant at the boyfriend's residence, detaining him and clearing the apartment for evidence. >> The back door with nothing in your hand. >> Step out. >> Hey, come toward Come towards me. Hands up. Keep coming. Keep coming. All right, turn back. Face me. Put your hands over your face. Walk towards me. >> Over your face. Walk towards me. I don't want you to fall over the curb. So, make sure you can see it. Keep coming. Keep coming to your left. To your left. Keep coming. >> All right. Watch your step. Just relax. Put your hands behind your back. Thank you. >> What is this about? >> Just relax. It's all good. >> Yeah. I'll tell I'll explain to you just a second. Okay. You're being detained at this moment. >> Who else? Those are my family. >> Officers locate bloody clothing and bedding inside the residence, strengthening suspicion of a violent assault. >> Explain everything. You know what I mean? >> Thank you. I appreciate it. >> And this is normal thing. Just taking pictures and making sure Hey guys. >> YES, SIR. >> There's a door somewhere up there that leads to that third floor. Said there's just a bunch of uh stuff up there. So, when you find it, let me know. We'll get a drone in. Third floor has been drone cleared. Nobody's located. Break angle to Thompson. >> Hey, Steve. >> We found the buddy shorts. So, you know, so there's a white shirt that should be outstanding. I checked all of the bedspread. There wasn't any blood I could notice on it. >> This is as far as I got till I found it shorts. >> The boyfriend claims the injuries were caused by mutual drunken falls and denies intentionally hurting her. >> So, you have the right to remain silent and refuse it to answer any questions. Anything you say may be used against you in the court of law. You understand those. >> Okay. If you could just go ahead and sign both of those lines and go and print your name up here. >> So you and mom lived in the apartment? >> No, me and my grandma. My grandma had me custody of me. So Okay. >> My grandma lived there. >> Dude, what happened to your arms? >> Oh, I fell and then I get burned. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. At work. >> But this one I fell. >> Work in the kitchen. >> Yeah, I fell. Where did you fall? >> Um yesterday um what you want to call it? Me, my homie, and my girl was drinking or whatever, right? I'm not going to lie. I know I can't drink. I'm on probation, but I was getting a little stressed. You feel me? Worried >> about that. >> All right. She got so [ __ ] drunk, right? I'm holding her like I'm telling my cuz it's my coworker. We picked him up and told him we was going to go to Tam War, you know, the bar. >> I picked him up and told him he was going to drink a little. I guess she got too drunk or something. I don't know cuz she's she's another recovering addict. That's what I was talking to you about though. Like I was telling you I know people that you feel me dealt with addiction and they got cleaned. So what you want to call it? Um we were walking right and I'm telling I'm like yo bro help me cuz I didn't want her to drive drunk you know and I live right there. So I'm telling her yo come on walk with me walk with me. And I'm holding her and she walked and she fell and then I'm trying to pick her up you know and then I fall with her in the road. I fell right pal and then on my leg somehow trying to drag her like pick her up. You know what I mean? And I'm telling Sean but he's like dude my my Uber's 3 minutes away. I'm like bro I will buy you a new Uber. And he just hopped in the Uber and left. I'm a [ __ ] [ __ ] bro. So I don't even know. >> Under questioning his story unravels as officers point out inconsistencies and evidence contradicting his explanation. >> Happened at the end. I'm not going to lie. I think I blacked out after I felt that a second time. I don't remember. >> So, we don't just randomly come and pick you up and and talk to you cuz we don't know anything. >> Yeah. >> What we do is we figured out a bunch of [ __ ] >> Yeah. And then together [ __ ] together >> and then we come because we already know a bunch of stuff, right? >> And we're here talking to you, giving you an opportunity >> and that's the way this is going to work. >> Yeah. I'm letting you know the truth. I'm positive, sir. I'm letting you know the whole truth. I'm not lying. >> Well, 100% positive. You remember everything you did that day almost like to an hour or two. I understand you get drunk and forget some things, but you remember pretty much everything. >> Mhm. >> You do. >> So, you know, we we're getting to the point where we're in that bakery parking lot. >> Yeah. >> Then you're definitely irritated. I would imagine for sure. >> And then now we don't remember. I mean, if it if it came to the point where you lost your cool. >> Okay. I probably did. I'm not going to lie. I don't. He admits they fought, acknowledges hitting her, and conceds he lost control while intoxicated. >> Remember what happened? Did we fight? That's what happened. I'm assuming. Yeah. I don't remember though. Like I don't remember actually. I remember falling and then getting up. That's all I remember. >> Yeah, you guys fought. I mean, that's how you get how you get this bruised hand. That's I mean, >> we probably could be broken. >> We do. >> We do fight. I'm not going to lie, but we don't >> we don't fight fight fight like all the time. We don't. >> Yeah. Have you guys physically fought before? >> She punched me a couple times. Yeah. And I had never like punched her like fought I called her, grabbed her, but we never really [ __ ] before. >> So I guess the next question is did she you first? >> I don't think she did. >> So you you hit her first? >> I didn't hit her though. I don't remember hitting her. I'm telling you for a fact. I don't remember. >> I don't remember why we fought, but I know we didn't fight. I don't remember before and I know I did her. I know I [ __ ] up. >> How many times did you hit her? >> I don't remember how many times. I just know we don't remember. I don't remember the actual fight. Like I know we did. I would admit it, but I [ __ ] up. >> Yes, you did. But when you pushed her, >> officers confront him with the severity of the injuries and the fact that he left her in the roadway. >> Was she alive at that time? >> Can you stop saying that [ __ ] please? >> I'm asking. I won't. I wasn't there. >> Yeah, she was alive. What do you She died? Did she die? >> She's She's getting treated at the hospital right now. >> You left her to die. >> That's what you did to her right there. >> I did that. >> The suspect was arrested following evidence recovery and admissions during questioning. He pleaded guilty to felonious assault and received 60 days in county jail and two years of probation while the victim received emergency medical treatment. Remember, domestic violence can escalate rapidly, especially when substance abuse and isolation are involved. Leaving an injured partner without help can turn an assault into a life-threatening crime. This is the reaction of nizens to this situation. This is heartbreaking. He almost killed her and just walked away. The excuses fell apart fast once the evidence came out. This is why victims going back to abusive partners is so dangerous.
