On August 20th, 2025, authorities tracked down a fugitive at a residence. But what should have been a straightforward arrest quickly uncovered a far more serious situation. Hello. >> Can you come out here and talk to me real quick? >> 300. >> You see Matthew today? >> Today? Yes, I dropped him off. >> There's one in here. >> Where'd you drop them off at? >> Um, in Florida Town. >> In where? >> Florida town. Right there at the end of Quintet. >> Okay. >> Or not Quintet. You go down Quint and Shaka. Then it's like straight all the way down. >> Uhhuh. So you didn't drop him off at the jail. >> He wouldn't he wouldn't let me drop. >> So he's not in jail. >> He is not in jail. >> Uhhuh. >> That he wouldn't he would not let me drop. >> Do you know where he was last night? >> Where he was last night? No, I don't. He was here this morning. Like it was like 10:00. We left at 1:00. >> Does he have any family around where you dropped him off at? >> Um, not that I know of. now. >> Mhm. >> Cuz I don't really like driving by car. >> Mhm. >> So, like I drove him straight there and then I came back home. >> Okay. >> Uh are all the kids awake right now? >> You want? >> Once deputies entered the residence, they located the wanted suspect hiding in the attic, attempting to avoid arrest on an outstanding warrant. But as they cleared the home, the focus of the investigation quickly shifted. Inside, investigators found the residence in deplorable condition with trash, soiled diapers, human waste, insects, and rotting food throughout the home. Six young children were living inside the house, many appearing neglected and surrounded by hazardous living conditions. >> Uh, probably because you didn't tell us he's in here. Harboring a fugitive. >> Look, I can't go to jail. I CANNOT. PLEASE. I didn't want him to get put in handcuffs in front of the kids. >> I did go to floor town and I did drop him off. Screamed and screamed and I couldn't drive back home. I don't want I don't I don't want him to see >> like >> I JUST KNEW she was >> They're taking her too. >> She was trying to get me to Santa Rosa, man. That's it. >> Step up here to the front of my doing what she told y'all, brother. He was trying to get me to Santa Ros. You got anything else in your pockets? >> I got some keys. All right. Stay back here past your son. Can you get my sister and talk to you? >> Yeah. Give me this side. You want to have a seat? Oh [ __ ] What's it? It's locked right now. >> There you go. >> I can't get my whites. >> Do what? >> I can't have my whites that are in the trunk. >> Your your white >> my white socks and my white underwear. They're going to take everything at the jail. >> But you can ask for your white like ass like the wearing the same shirts and stuff. >> Just hang talk them. They're in the the white sedan up there. >> Yeah, they're in the front bag. >> Just hang talk on him. >> Knew she was he was up there. [laughter] >> Because when she said it, you told her to be quiet. >> You you you told on her. You told on him. That's how I knew. I did I did go and I did drop him off AND I DIDN'T WANT I DIDN'T WANT HIM >> I stop please calm her down please. [laughter] >> I didn't want them to I didn't want them to see this. I tried dropping him off and they screamed bloody murder and I couldn't drive. I literally couldn't drive off that can take care of these kids. >> I don't have nobody. >> She helps me while I'm working. I'm the only one that works. Did you realize what you were doing and how much trouble [laughter] you how how >> again? I would have told you up there. >> You know how easy it would have been if you just put both of these up there. Let us take them in trouble. Please >> I don't have a my dad and my mom. I don't have nobody. [laughter and crying] Literally, I have nobody. >> Where do they live at? >> My daddy is on. >> What? >> What about your mom? She's dead. >> So that's it. That's all I have. I can't lose everything. I bust my ass. >> I want to go again. >> I don't want to go with her. >> Can you let go of me? I'm not going to >> go for a walk. Please don't [laughter] do >> you sit right here. >> Yeah. >> Can I please talk around? >> I WANT TO TURN AROUND. >> I DIDN'T ALREADY. >> How are we not listening? I didn't know I'd be taking trouble. You >> already said that and I told you. Please don't. Please don't do this. I can't help nobody. Oh my nobody. I'm going to violate my probation. Please. No. [laughter] Keep your legs spread wider. >> Spread them wider. Spread like real wide. As wide as you possibly can. Look. Spread your legs as wide as you can. >> Spread your legs wider. >> Can y'all talk to me, please? Please. [laughter] >> Okay. [ __ ] I'm >> turn back around. Just cannot TOUCH ME LIKE THAT. >> YES, I [laughter] CAN. >> NO, YOU CANNOT >> TURN AROUND. THEY DID NOT TOUCH ME LIKE THAT THE FIRST TIME LIKE no kid stopped. I swear to [ __ ] God. >> No, I want different cops right NOW. I WANT DIFFERENT COPS DOWN HERE. I'M ALLOWED TO REQUEST THAT. >> I AM ALLOWED. SHE'S HURTING ME, BRO. >> NO, [screaming] YOU'RE NOT touching me down there again. Bro, >> she's going to search you. >> I don't have nothing on me. I swear to God, bro. Well, you damn sure ain't going to like it. That's jail. >> If you think that's bad. >> Yes. And she touches feet like that one more time by pressing. >> Actually, I can't. I actually [ __ ] can't. HE'S GOING TO BREAK MY [ __ ] ARM. >> YES, he is. [laughter] >> Please let me go. I'm just here. Please. You're hurting me. >> [laughter] >> Okay, those are tighter than these coins. I cannot I cannot I cannot I cannot figure that out. Listen, honestly that works. Please, please. I don't have my phone. I have nothing. Please, please, >> have a seat in the back and relax for a second. I'm going to come talk to you in a minute. [laughter] I'm not throw up. >> Okay. Well, if you throw up, you throw up. Get in. >> Get [laughter] in the car. It is not Get in the car. It is not a question. Get in the car. I'm not asking you again. THEN MOVE YOUR LEGS. Then move your legs. >> Get in. >> I'll pull you in. I don't care. Can you help me, please? >> How do you want me to help? >> My spleen is ENLARGED AND I CANNOT move my stomach muscles. >> She's the only one that can help you. >> Push yourself up in there. Use your legs. >> I cannot. You're not lifting. >> Do you not have legs? Those don't affect your flea. >> Yeah, it put your legs in it. >> Hey, can I call you back? >> She said it should be done. Um, my question is is because I don't want to be responsible for anything in that house >> and I don't know what's in there. Be honest. >> Is there any way y'all can look through that room so I'm not responsible for anything in there? >> No. >> Right. >> Okay. >> No. >> If I find >> We're not We're not looking for We're here to do what we just did and we're done. >> Okay. >> Our job is not to look around. Not to Right. >> That's not what we're doing. >> If I find drugs, no idea. I mean, >> well, one, you know, like you said, bedrooms and stuff, you have no right going in other people's bedrooms unless they give you permission to, >> right? >> So, just know just know that. I know. I know what you're saying. >> This house, this house is under my name. >> I get you. But >> here's what I suggest because, you know, I don't know where, who, what, but that place is disgusting. Kids shouldn't be living in that. That's gross. So, if I were you, I'd get me a big old trash bag and get to throwing stuff away and get to cleaning cuz that's that's pretty gross. Hannah, >> I didn't know I could listen here. I'm willing to talk to you if you just relax and you have a conversation with me as an adult. Do you agree to that? I need you to calm down your breathing. You ready? >> Okay. [clears throat] >> Remember last night at the Pizza Hut >> where you made an agreement with me you were going to take him up there to Santa Rosa? >> Yes. >> And I told that was my plan. I did not lie about that. I promise. >> Okay. I didn't say you lied about your intentions. But remember when I told you that he had a felony warranty >> and I told you that [clears throat] if we come out here >> and he's here >> and you're here too >> you can be arrested for obstruction for harboring a fugitive. Okay. >> I guess I miss him. >> I thought I made it pretty clear. >> I know you said to call it call y'all. >> Uh-huh. Cuz you know why? Because I didn't want you getting in trouble. >> I don't want trouble. Okay. I told you that for your benefit. >> Okay. >> But I did I didn't go all I just went there. >> Okay. Well, let's fast forward to now. When I knocked on your door, >> I thought he went out the front door. >> Okay. >> I did. I did not know he was in the attic. I did not see him go in that door and go in the attic. >> I really thought that he went outside. >> You remember when you told me that you took him to Santa Rosa County and you haven't seen him since? I did drop him off. >> You lied to my face. You knew he was here. >> I did not know he was inside. I did not. >> It doesn't matter if he was in the backyard or not. You still lied to me. >> I did not know he was here. >> I thought he'd been went outside like 30 minutes. >> I thought somebody came up >> and you still lied to me. We can be really nice and we can be very respectful and treat each other like human beings. Okay. But when someone's got felony warrants, we're going to come out here and we're going to do our job. >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> This violates my probation. >> Okay. >> I can't do that. >> When it comes to getting people to have felony warrants, we do our job and we get them. Okay. >> I understand. >> And we're not very friendly [laughter] when people get in our way of doing that knowingly. Okay. I learned trying to get in the window >> when I was right behind you when that female deputy was trying to search you and do her job. >> Okay. I had a lot more grace before you pulled that stun turning around on her. >> She was she went a little too far. >> Okay. She's doing her job >> and that made people uncomfortable. >> I understand it's not this is not a comfortable place to be. That's why I'm not. >> Okay. This is not a comfortable position to be in. >> I do everything I'm supposed to do. >> Hannah, what are you on probation for? >> Traum neglect. >> Okay. So, you're on felony probation. >> I am. >> Okay. >> I do not want to top of that. I do everything I'm supposed to do. I've never been in control. Besides that, >> do you know how a VOP works? >> Okay. Do you know what the maximum sentence [clears throat] is? >> No. >> For the charge that you had? >> Yeah. 7 years >> in prison. >> And I don't I can't I literally cannot. >> Okay. The truth goes a long way with us. You understand that? Yes. >> Just relax. Ain't me. Okay. With both suspects in custody, the children were turned over to the Department of Children and Families and a DCF investigator responded to the scene to assume their care. As the investigation concluded, both suspects were booked into the Escambia County Jail on six counts of child neglect. The male suspect was held without bond, while Hannah also faced an additional charge for violating her probation stemming from a previous child neglect case.
