corrupt cops often get away with their dirty practices but what happens when they get caught planting fake evidence it's a little bit of weed hey BR what's that what that you just do in here what what here are four bizarre examples of this starting with the case of Officer Kyle Ericson and Elmer pastron on March 13th 2020 two officers pulled over a vehicle for broken tail lights and demanded search of the vehicle after reportedly smelling marijuana but things became dangerously heated when the passenger refused to let the cop search his jacket I don't have nothing in my jacket I'm not okay well he's going to check it I don't have nothing I don't need this situation is about to escalate for no reason because I don't not I didn't do nothing it was in the car this is on me it's my possession you need to relax it's my possession you need to relax it's my [ __ ] possession David Rel my possession yeah let me get one additional to 207 Broad Street no it's not come on relax relax relax back back back the passenger later identified as Jason Sana was forcefully taken to the ground and handcuffed but shortly after Jason started bleeding before being pinned to the ground Jason informed the cops that he was recovering from abdominal surgery after being stabbed this is for our safety okay we're doing one look I look look I just got he's going to step out after you step out got I don't have I could get out look I don't want to see that I could get out I could barely move bro I don't have nothing on you can search me don't want to see that right now you can put that away okay I make you step out of the car I'm going to step out the car but just hold on okay that's fine like on I don't know way so the use of force punctured his recovery Staples and and caused him to bleed with this new development the cops had a very clear objective while searching the vehicle I'm searching rest actually I'll let you check yeah there's a flashlight I'll stay with him Ericson began searching the vehicle starting with Jason's seat after several minutes he found no illegal substance in the seat and went on to search the remaining parts of the vehicle but his desperation and anxiety increased drastically and he became very edgy [ __ ] you have any bees on you no 190808 Sor right with this Ericson had now gone through the entire vehicle and found no Contraband substance but his next action was very suspicious he then went back to the first point of his search the passenger seat but this time though he found exactly what he was looking for it's a little bit of weed there's weed flakes right there fles everywhere though yeah know he had weed you can see there weed here check bring the dragon with you it's his anyway so I want to gu some you know yeah that's probably why he was bugging out cuz he had a little weed on him so there's a little marijuana in the Jag which is probably why he was [ __ ] out [Music] but just flakes where we bring it huh where you bring it we'll bring it back to the house okay I'm going to grab the little bit of weed Ericson appeared who have placed an item in the car's console before picking it up and declaring he found a piece of weed he also reportedly found several other bits in Jason's jacket even though his colleague had searched it and found nothing after the search the cops were pleased with their reported findings and shared a celebratory fist bun good good Jason was charged with drug possession resisting arrest and obstructing governmental Administration months later Jason's convictions were overturned by a judge after reviewing the body cam footage and finding him innocent on the other hand Ericson and Elmer remained active policeman and continued patrolling Jason's neighborhood although both cops used force on Jason who had to be taken to the hospital Zack Wester was suspiciously nice yeah thank you phone I don't care come on on February 15th 2018 Zack Wester pulled over a vehicle for its alleged flickering brake lights and what started as a nice stop turned into something unexpected um there's going to be a k9 com in a minute and she's going to walk around the car okay but instead of doing that would you consent to a search of your vehicle you're fine with that okay you mind stepping out just hanging out with this Deputy right back here no I don't I just I'm scared being this traffic to be no depy hey K will take care of you can I get take my phone yeah take the phone I don't care that's fine come on upon Zach's request the woman named Teresa Odum consented to the search of her vehicle even though she wasn't mandated to this could be attributed to the fact that Teresa saw Zach as a friendly officer who was just doing his job Zach began the search shortly after but his body cam captured something extremely [Applause] bizarre running the cop got into the vehicle and as he stretched his glove something could be seen tightly squeezed in his left palm while the nature of the substance wasn't clear the clinking sounds heard when Zach moved his hands indicated the substance was in the form of a crystal Zach's motive wasn't immediately obvious but what happened next created a dramatic turn of events [Applause] oh miss him it is yogurt sir I know okay it's yogurt how about this that is not mine no sir okay I'm not going to ask you any I'm not going to ask you question I'm going to read you your rights first okay Zach took a spoon with a plastic bag containing some type of drug and Teresa claimed she used the spoon for yogurt but when she saw the substance in the plastic she quickly stated that it wasn't hers Teresa seemed frightened and even asked what the substance was and after performing a chemical test Zach came back with an answer that had the potential of ruining Teresa's life did return pres something the positive for methamphetamine okay I'm just letting you know okay I come through the lot I get ped over all righty asked if he could search my truck I told him yes he search my truck I'm sitting on the bumper right now he goes in my passenger side the C I don't know God knows what he goes around to the other side the truck door on open and and he comes back with a spoon which is what I and the spoon there is laying a little bitty like I guess a little tiny bag he says it tests positive for methamphetamine so I guess I'm going to go to jail yeah I'm sure ain't mine nobody SP much Teresa was placed under arrest and charged with felony counts of methampetamine possession and drug paraphernalia but only 7 months after the incident all charges against her were dismissed and officer Zach was fired investigations revealed that Zach had planted drugs in over 100 vehicles in his career and Teresa happened to be one of the victims Zach was found guilty of 12 felonies and was sentenced to 122 years in prison aside from planting fake evidence Zach largely followed legal procedures but the next officer didn't even know the right legal procedures I haven't broke any laws I'm not under ARR can ask anybody step out on any any traffic stop a police officer pulled over a delivery driver for faulty license lights and asked him to step out of his vehicle but the driver refused and the interaction that followed was brutally chaotic okay talk to me all right talk to me back here why because I asked you to buddy we do not want to take you out of this car okay I do not want to arrest you tonight you have no reason to arrest me I have done nothing wrong if you don't get out the don't get out car it's obstruction just obstruction charge that will be filed against you or resist the arrest so we do not want to do that okay already know the ropes of all you guys all what you guys do the delivery driver had a pending lawsuit against the police department and with his delivery now delayed his annoyance with the cops only multiplied when they tried to search his vehicle you guys cannot search someone's car saying that you smell marijuana I can't okay well I'm telling you right now that you have no legal basis to search my car I'm going to search a vehicle okay and you're going to stay right here with my with my buddy while I search your vehicle this is a joke okay am I going to find anything cuz I'm trying to work with you I'm about to lose my patience okay you are what's your badge number so we don't have badge numbers stay here with my's your name all right stay with my buddy this is harassment the police officers claimed to perceive a scent of marijuana from the car and although the delivery driver thought otherwise that was enough probable cause for them to legally search the car with or without the owner's consent but although the delivery driver was recording the officers he missed something very vital to the case it's not harassment it's just us doing our job yeah you don't have problem calls where was the probable calls cuz you say you smelled something before he began the search the cop raised the car hatchback and the license light was on this was a direct contradiction to the officer's claim that his license light was off and that prompted the stop this meant the driver of the vehicle had reasonable cause to disallow the officers from searching his vehicle but he didn't notice this and the officers continued their search which uncovered something unexpected it's not say you say you smell something that gives you the right cuz you're the cops right as the search began the cop carried a plastic bag and placed it in the trunk this Behavior was very suspicious but it became even more concerning when the officer mentioned that he had seen a little bit of marijuana in the vehicle harassing somebody what you do plant that is that all you had is that what you planted is that what you planted on me just a little bit of weed an attitude he can take you to jail or he can cat you with I mean he's going to do what he's going to do man I can't I'm not going Begg him to do nothing believe me go ahead and have a seat back ins I'm I'm going to cut you side get you out of here the stop raised a lot of questions about the honesty of the officers they claimed to smell marijuana in the car but only found a small quantity after their search which meant they either had a very strong sense of smell or they lied about smelling marijuana the delivery driver was given a citation for driving with a faulty license light he unfortunately didn't notice the many disparities with the stop but that wasn't the case when two men were pulled over by officers and one of them witnessed something extremely unexpected hey bro what's that what what that you just do in here what's what word I got I got you on camera bro I got you on camera we're all good hey bro you just threw that in here yeah while recording the stop on his phone the man caught the cop rather sneakily throwing what appeared to be a plastic wrap into the back seat of the vehicle the man then announced that he had seen and recorded what the cop did but the cop seemed indifferent to it and even stated that he had also recorded it on his body cam corner cut what's that what's what what's the what word I I got you on camera I got you on camera we're all good from the cop's body cam footage we could see that he was given a plastic container by another cop and then proceeded to throw it in the car while this explained where it came from it didn't explain why the cop put it in the car but the man in the vehicle concluded the cop was trying to plant an incriminating substance in their vehicle hey bro you just threw that in here yeah cuz it was in his pocket and I don't want want to hold on to it that's on their body Cam that they took it off of them so you just thre that in here BR I got you on camera man I'm telling you where it came from so it's an empty baggie at the moment too so okay buddy the officer explained to the man that the plastic was found in his colleague's pocket during the search and he decided to place it in the car the man in the vehicle found it hard to believe this story because the cop didn't notify him before throwing it back into the car and so it appeared like he didn't want the man to know what he was doing after the search both men were released with a traffic ticket
