Sir, I just want my daughter.
Sir, in the name of Jesus, you're going

Okay, sir, I'll quit.
>> Stop. Okay.
>> She was clamped onto my leg with her
teeth.
I socked her a couple times in the head
and yet no effect at all.
She's a super woman.
>> On July 21st, [music] 2023, in Las
Cruces, New Mexico, officers were sent
to West Picacho Avenue after a woman
called 911 to say a complete stranger
had gone [music] through her car in a
hardware store parking lot. The
stranger, later identified as Beatrice
[music] Diaz Ward, was convinced the
woman was hiding her missing daughter.
And when she could not find the girl,
she reached back into the car, took
[music] the woman's iPhone, and walked
away with it. One officer went looking
for her on foot across a railroad
crossing that [music] had shut the road
down behind him. He found her three
blocks away and what happened in the
next 90 seconds would leave two people
bleeding [music] in the middle of
Picacho Avenue.
>> I am on Picacho over by Neca's Cafe and
a woman has just taken my telephone away
from me because she believes I have her
daughter.
And she is walking across the street now
towards Neca's and she has my phone in a
pink case.
And I'm trying to follow her because
she's got my phone.
>> Okay, and she just barely took it?
>> Her name Her name is Her last name is
Moore.
She says that she's looking for a
daughter named Kayla Sanchez that she
insists the military has taken away from
her up the street there. I've left my
vehicle wide open and I'm trying to
follow her because she's got my life in
that damn telephone.
And uh
>> Do you know her? How did she get your
phone?
>> No, of course I don't know her. She just
walked up to me randomly on the street
as I was getting in to the car at
Johnston's Hardware here on Las Cruces
on Picacho Avenue.
>> Okay, ma'am. Well, officers out there,
okay?
>> Okay, she just knocked me down. No, I'm
not okay.
The woman has my telephone in the pink
and pink case that's about to cross in
front of where the train is coming,
where all the cars are stopped.
Okay, she's going to be on the other
side of the train tracks in a minute.
And she
She's still got my phone. I got her
jacket, but she still got my phone.
>> Okay.
>> I'm not okay.
>> Which way is she heading?
>> I'm sorry, what?
>> Which way is she heading?
>> East.
>> East, okay.
>> [clears throat]
>> I think it's so welfare check.
>> You think so? Okay.
>> Go down that way.
>> Got three.
>> Have you made it through 511?
>> I'm going to cross the railroad tracks
on foot. The
railroad tracks are down.
>> 80 mark stated that she saw her cross
the railroad tracks.
Heading toward
the park.
>> I'm direct. There's no train going
through, so I think
it's just stuck. [music] So, I'm going
to go on foot.
I'm direct. And she was hanging around
the park last time we talked to her.
>> Affirmative. Just a questioner about her
daughter, Kayla.
That's what
my RP is claiming that she was asking
for help for her daughter.
>> 986 Adam.
>> 986 go ahead.
>> Got you.
Hey, can you come over here quick?
>> I don't know where my daughter is, sir.

>> Oh yeah, go. I know there's a lot of
people.

>> I just want to go home so I can move on
with my life. My husband
is missing.
And he just went to the tree to keep
her. I don't know why he did all this.
>> Well, here, let's talk more about it in
the shade.

>> Hold on.
>> I will do it, sir.
>> Stop.
>> I just want my daughter.
>> Hold up.
I lost all my stuff in the car.
>> Officer Gomez's camera [music] stopped
here, and the struggle that followed was
never captured by any police body
camera. By the time the next unit
arrives, [music]
it is already over.
>> No, you guys, please don't leave me.
>> Any witnesses?
>> Yes.
It's just there's no changing it. I got
to get

>> Definitely charges for what it's worth
and
>> Ma'am, too early. Sorry. Look at my
lips, honey.
They don't pay me for my lip.
>> You were that so?
>> Sorry, I didn't get the message.
>> I got to have a charge charge from
corrections.
>> Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you were one of
them. Go ahead, lip.
I fight for my life with my husband.
>> So, you were just happy to drive by in
the area and saw
>> What's her going out in the street and
hit us and her going after her and then
he starts to take her down. She's she's
winning.
I had to make sure that she didn't win.
She still was winning.
>> You weren't in any type of official
capacity or anything like that. Okay.
>> I'm just retired, man.
>> Got you. All right.
>> I'm actually I'm sorry, you guys.
I'm scared.
I just want to take out the charges to
you guys, sir.
>> Get over all photographs of him and his
pants and his injuries.
>> For a while I've been thinking
>> Let me get your name real quick.
>> I want to apologize to law, sir. I

dangerous for her and them to be with
them.
>> Are you okay?
>> My daughter
>> Yeah.
>> Sir, I want to deeply apologize cuz my
husband's family dresses up like you.
Sir, I'm sorry. I thought you were one
of them. Look at my lip.
Do we I fight for my life cuz my husband
>> going to have the fire department check
you out, okay?
>> beats me. I learn to fight for my life.
I'm sorry, guys.
>> Look,
people are trying to help you out, but I
got to
You got to take her out, you know?
>> I know, sir. My whole plan was cuz his
family was going to They I don't know
what they did, but they gave me an
inheritance. I just wanted to leave to
New York with my kids.
>> Well, she's running in the traffic and
she tried getting into people's car
doors. So I had to take her down.
>> And she took off on you?
>> Yeah.
>> Sir, it says my husband
>> And then uh yeah, he saw me struggling
with her on the ground, so
>> I feel bad he's not worse than my
husband.
>> And then you started punching her in the
face, but because she was biting him and
then she bled. So I was like, yeah.
>> You guys, this is survival mode when you
do math six. I'm sorry.
>> So she did hurt someone or something?
>> Okay.
>> Cuz she had blood, you know?
>> Yeah.
Oh, when when you saw her, she already
had blood?
>> Oh, when they picked her up, they were
wrestling on the floor right here with
her and we pulled in and we stopped and
we started recording.
>> Okay.
>> And
uh
Like, yeah. Hold on. I have the
recording right here.
Are you okay?
It was like 52 seconds, but
>> she's hurting a cop.
I was like, she's hurting a cop.
>> So when you pulled up, they were already
in the patrol car?
>> fighting on the street.
>> Okay.
>> When we pulled up
>> Okay.
>> So
>> So they they got here after the fact.
>> Okay, she was fighting with who?
>> Uh with
with an officer.
>> This one?
>> Or with Donald? This one.
>> Okay, the
>> There was two of them, right? There was
two officers.
>> It was the the one that was in this car,
the one that's bleeding, and the the
officer by the window.
>> By the window. Uh the one in the brown?
>> No, the one in the brown pants and green
and then the one right in front of the
young lady.
>> Okay, okay.
Yeah, so they got here after he got
missing.
>> I mean
down the road then
>> The cops showed up.
The suspect
started running street followed by the
officer.
I tried to follow her back and she tried
to escape.
As progress and she ended up running
with the lights and traffic and then
tried to take a taxi taking a taxi.
And she was kicking
screaming and jumping and I see that she
was like
needed to be here and I watched
another real train
Hold her legs down.
Hold her arm we got one hand so we can
get the other hand.
Tried to help the suspect the arrest.
Okay, did you see her
punching the officer or hitting the
officer at all?
It turned into a blur when I see just
all what I needed to do. Okay. She was
hurt.
She was just fighting He was trying to
apprehend he was trying to apprehend
She was clamped onto my leg with her
teeth.
I socked her a couple times in the head
and had no effect.
Super woman here.
No, but this is not bleeding officer is
red. And that's okay.
You want an alcohol prep so it stops
bleeding. It's not really bad or
anything.
Okay, yeah this
It's like a
>> That's the only place is just your face?
Not your hands?
>> No, like right here.
>> Was that from her?
>> Yeah, that's from her.
>> Mommy, did you get your check from
payday? You took it from me, bro.
>> Yeah.
>> What you did to her was messed up.
That's perfect. Do you happen to know
your social baby child?
What's your current address for you?
>> I don't have one. I sleep in front of my
pastor's church. You can ask him.
And then I go in front of the thing. I
don't have no where else to go. I'm
getting tired of waiting here.
>> Do you Do you have any phones? I know Do
you know phone number or anything?
>> I had them broken and fixed for me like
a week and a half ago.
>> Okay. All right.
>> So I was here with you right here, but
right when you saw me running with a
couple of ice.
>> Okay. Okay. No, that's fine.
>> Three blocks [music] away, the woman
whose phone started all of this was
still sitting outside Nessa's Cafe.
Nobody had taken [music] her full
statement yet.
>> All right, Miss Henson. Do you want to
just from the beginning just tell me
everything that happened?
Did it happen So it happened here at the
>> No. No.
So I I I came out of Johnson's Hardware
with a gallon of paint in my hand. My
phone had a little lock mechanism that I
had them fix for me in the other.
And I went to my car.
I I opened up the car
on the side where I was going to put the
paint in, which was the passenger front
seat.
And I was going to I cleared that out a
little bit to put the cuz my car's just
a mobile storage unit, right? So I
cleared that front part out, put the
paint on the can paint can on the floor,
and I had the door open. And this woman
is approaching from the north on 3rd
Street on the side of the street where
I'm parked, not on the sidewalk but in
the street.
And she's already talking to me, but I'm
a little hard of hearing, so I can't
really hear what she's saying, but I was
pretty sure she was talking to me.
When she got closer to the car, I said,
"Are you speaking to me?" And she said,
"Yes, I want my daughter."
And I said,
"Okay.
I don't know anything about your
daughter."
>> Yes, you do. You She's in your car.
You have her in the car. You have my
daughter in your car.
>> And you have no You have no idea who
this lady is. Okay.
>> Call 911.
>> Right.
>> Well, I didn't make it that far because
I got in the car and I started to start
the car, and she opens the back door in
back of me on the driver's side
and
grabbed my phone.
from between the seats.
And she said she held it up. She says,
"I've got your phone and I'm not giving
you your phone back until you give me
your my daughter."
And I said, "Well, then let's look in
the car.
I'm not going to take everything out,
but you can certainly see in the car if
your daughter's in here."
>> Right.
>> She sticks her head in and she says,
"Kayla! Kayla! Come out!" So, I said,
"Is your daughter's name Kayla?" She
said, "Yes." And I said, "What's her
last name?" And she said, "Sanchez." And
I said, "Is that your last name?" She
said, "No, my last name is Moore."
This was a little farther ahead because
by that time she's walking away.
You know, I didn't say it that way, but
I basically said, you know, "Do you Do
you Are they better off on the street or
are they better off in the jail cell?"
>> Well, she's going to She's already under
arrest for other charges, too. I don't I
don't know exactly what transpired over
here, but I do believe that she got into
a a scuffle with officers, so she might
have battery charges against officers.
>> Well, I thought maybe so because I saw I
saw the ambulance going that way. I
thought
>> another Yeah, she bit another male, too.
Um so, that's another felony charge. So,
she has Yeah, she's definitely going to
have a lot of felony charges. Um
>> Well, she's spunky, you know. She And
and and
no matter what the actual real
circumstances are, the woman believes
she has a daughter that she can't find.
>> Right. All righty, ma'am. Well, um if
the detective needs to contact you, I'll
I'll give him your information, so
>> Yeah, that'll be fine. Thank you. Thank
you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you.
>> All righty, ma'am. Well, have a better
day, okay? I know it was an unfortunate
uh series of events, but
>> It was indeed, but a happy ending for me
to get my phone back.
>> Yes, ma'am.
>> That would have been another I mean, I
probably would have lost my phone like
that
>> Right.
>> if I didn't get my phone back.
>> Yeah. All righty, ma'am. Well, take
care, okay? Have a good one.
>> Diaz was spent [music] the rest of the
afternoon under guard at Memorial
Medical Center. She was not booked into
the county [music] jail until the
following day.
>> Yeah, but I don't want to get in trouble
with the train. I really don't I don't
stopped the train. That's why I was
like, "Who did it?" I thought that's why
of really like an official light.
>> What do you mean the train?
What about the train?
>> No, I was saying you know how all the
people were like waiting in the light?
>> I think there was just something wrong
with the sensors because
>> I don't know what you guys think. I
committed some kind of espionage. It
just like worked in my favor and that's
when I ran with it.
To check cars.
>> Okay.
>> But I don't know like
>> What do you mean check cars?
>> Well, you know, I was looking for my
kids and my husband.
>> Oh, okay.
>> So, you know how the traffic was
stopped? I just saw it from the parking
and I was like, "This is my perfect
moment to run out and check if they're
still there and see if they're in the
cars."
>> Okay.
>> But I don't want to get in trouble for
like I didn't do that. I was just
running with it and taking advantage of
the situation.
>> no. No, no, no, you're good. It was for
something else.
>> Battery, I don't accept an accountable.
I just want to
>> Battery?
>> I'm not familiar.
>> So, let me tell you. Okay, it's burglary
of a vehicle, larceny, resisting,
battery, and battery on a peace officer.
>> Okay.
>> So,
fine.
>> Okay. I understand.
>> The larceny of a vehicle is fine.
>> Yeah, I'm going to have to I'm going to
have to
>> You were trying to open the car doors or
what? Well, because I was trying to get
out. You know the car doors were
stopped.
Yeah. You know the car doors are
>> So, what if
So, I'm pissed now.
>> So, you go to jail and you get booked
and then after you're booked you go to
court?
Yeah.
>> Well, it took a long time for the court
to get to me.
>> Uh since it's the weekend, so you'll
probably be held till Monday to see a
judge.
>> I just like to prepare myself so I don't
get mad at the time or something.
>> You'll probably be held till Monday till
you can see a judge.
>> Cuz I get
>> And at that point they might release you
on bond.
>> It was just that there's a female
It's the female and I just and a lot of
domestic situations for bad
relationships.
There's a way I know they have to give
their orders, but
when you're domestic and somebody tells
you get down, you know what I mean?
>> Yeah.
>> Or in your life, it's just a simple I
don't know if you probably don't relate
to that.
>> No, but I understand.
>> Yeah, so that's why I I wanted to
[clears throat] like
be smart. Like I It was easier with a
female, you know what I mean?
>> Yeah.
>> So, I'm going to say it's a minor
internal charge.
>> Beatriz Diaz Ward was charged [music]
with burglary of a vehicle, larceny,
resisting, battery on a peace officer,
and battery. The case was closed by
arrest. No final court outcome was
supplied. Margaret Shin got her phone
back that same afternoon, and the man
who stopped to help left with a bite
wound. If you enjoy [music] videos like
