Domestics are some of the toughest jobs that we handle. The hardest ones are when kids are stuck in the middle of it all. Do you want to go with your mom? First up, we'll see how this mom almost got her own son arrested until video evidence showed a different story. Then we have two intoxicated parents losing it at the beach. But first we have a mom calling 911 claiming her son forced his way into the house and assaulted her daughter. When the police arrive, they find out that there's more to the story. Hi. Hi. I told you people are going to get out of hand. My daughter has her arm and I have pictures and everything. I'm done. I can't do this anymore. He did that to my daughter just a few minutes ago. Right here at the front of the door. Can I talk to your daughter? Mhm. So basically, she had already told him that he can't put his stuff in the house. He starts throwing his in here. Here he comes at me because he thinks that I'm going to take and grab his stuff and go throw it back outside. He gets me by the hand, starts scratching me. I'm sorry for my language. Then gets me from the door. I'm scratching like defend myself and get away from him. I'm in between the door with him. My face is right here where the door handle is and it scratches from here to there. He's trying to drag me out the door with him and I'm trying to pull myself back in and that's why his shirt is ripped because I was trying to defend myself and get away. Domestics like this are tough to figure out. It is truly like a big puzzle. They're going to obviously interview both parties and they have to try to figure out who is the primary aggressor and a lot of times, especially in a case like this, it's not going to be clear. >> [music] >> And this isn't the first time that he's done something to him because we've even had to go to court one time before because he punched you, right? Yeah, he punched me in the face and left the hole in the wall because I was trying to get him away from her. Which I fixed the hole in the house already, but And then you said you you heard it first and then you went over there, right, to see what happened? >> Yeah, I ran over there because I heard her screaming and stuff and he was like yelling and shoving and the door and I could just hear everything. Who is she claiming that happened? He's saying that Okay, went through the garage when the mom opened the door. And I guess he went back over here. That was that bag and another bag outside the door. Went out, grabbed the stuff and then his sister tried closing the door. That's all he did was put his back on against the door and pushed back. Pushing her against the door cuz she was trying to push him out. And then inside the sister gets him in a chokehold. Mom tries grabbing his phone and scratches his lip. His shirt is ripped and he does have redness on his cheek. A little different story. So pretty much is also they don't want him here. They've been trying to kick him out, but we've already told him that he has residency here, so you can't kick him out. That's what the call was for earlier. It was like no domestic, it was just them wanting to get him out of here. And then right now she's saying that cuz when we left he's like they're telling us he's not to bring any of that property back in cuz they were claiming that he brought it outside himself cuz he was leaving. Like he volunteered to leave. And he's like I never did that. He's like I left with my girlfriend came back and all my stuff was outside. He did admit to pushing her against the door, but he's like I was just trying to go in. So it seems like they want him out of the house, which would have to be an eviction because it's his residence as the officers were saying and possibly they are kind of forcing the issue by causing further issues to try to have them removed without doing that pesky eviction process, but we'll see. He comes charging in towards me thinking that I have something on him and I don't and I'm getting pushed through the door, pushed on the wall, pushed against him. At any point did you get him in a headlock? No, I couldn't. I There was no way >> There was no way like I was literally wrapped around like this because he was holding my arm from the back of his neck from this side. Got it. And that's how I like that's why his collar is ripped. >> Got you. So when you had your hand on him, what was he trying to do? Or where was he? My mom was right here. He was yelling at the time. My arm was locked like this and that's another reason why I have scratches right here and I was just trying to like pull him this way so that he could let go of me. And that's why he has all of this is just torn up right here on his shirt. Trying to pull him this way so he could let go of me. Story's odd. What what were you doing on this side with him? >> telling him to stop and he wouldn't let me. He wouldn't he wouldn't listen to me. He just kept cursing and stuff. And then he said that he was going to come after me. And then that's when I ran back over here to get my phone because I'm like no, I'm not going to allow you to start beating up everybody. And I'm pregnant, too, on top of that. You know? So how did that bag that was here end up outside? >> He he I don't know. To be honest with you, I have no idea. After he had already been arguing with my mom, I went to go get my son because my son was arguing. So I did not see how his bag landed out there again. Okay. People who analyze speech and do human lie detectors, let's say they always say if you put like a preface to what you're about to say like to be honest with you, sometimes that indicates deception. We'll see if that's the case here. I was not here to witness it because I was with my son and he was crying over there in his bouncer. Got you. Okay. Let me go talk to my partner. I'll be right back, okay? And then she says too is like as soon as you guys left you the last time I stayed quiet and then you started talking all kinds of stuff and I was just sitting on the couch and stuff and then I have a video of her just walking up to me talking and yelling in my face to get out and stuff as soon as you guys left. Do you have that video with you? Yes. Can I see it or not? No. So they want him out. Obviously. See? Time is it? Um I don't know. Oh. 5:22. And this is like literally [screaming] like a couple minutes after you guys left. Whatever is going on here, legalities, residency, all that stuff, brother, just get out. That lady's not going to leave you alone. Obviously, you can't live like that. Get your own place, live with your girlfriend, live with your dad, anything but this house. Another thing too is like they like to tell every single cop like they've never put their hands on me. My thing is like I've they put their hands on me ever since like we moved here 10 years ago. And some of it's over stupid stuff, too. Like I'll be playing the game, my mom she'll get mad. One time she kicked me in the face with boots. She kicked me in my private part with boots and I was like 11, maybe 12 years old. And then another time that's true, that's sick. >> because she was screaming at me. And I was like maybe 11, 12, too. And she just like came with her boots. It was like a couple days after and just started kicking me in my face on the floor, kicking my body. And she just likes to tell everyone that she's never put her hands on me. Yeah, I did say this. We'll just wait for the video and then we'll go from there, okay? That's that's a motion that doesn't make sense to me. If think about it, right? Like this is the door. You're pulling me out, right? And then all of a sudden you want to come in. You push me this way. How is this arm going to end up behind him across if he's coming in like it's going to be in the like in the chokehold manner. You know what I mean? The way she described that did not make sense. So like So if I'm pulling So you're pulling my hands, right? You're pulling my hand like this. Yeah. And then boom, you decide to come inside, right? Right, my hand would be up here. Yeah. So how does her hand end up around his neck this way? And that's what she she's saying she pulled back cuz he's she's saying that he then came back and pushed his hand against the wall right here. So that's how she got that injury here. That's what she's stating. But how did that happen? How did that motion happen from here to here if I'm pulling >> is my consistency. Yeah. This is where we're having a hard time with it cuz the consistency of the statements, right? Cuz I mean he's a big guy. So if he was trying to go towards her, I'm pretty sure he would have pulled it right away, especially if your arm is this way. >> my arm was lodging back and forth. >> this way right away and That's why my arm is lodging back and forth. I did not ever put him in a chokehold. That's why I have these scratches because of right there and because of the door. So it wasn't from him scratching you how you told me earlier? I didn't tell you he scratched me. I told you that the door and this had scratched me. You did. I remember. I just want to confirm it. Just confirm it. Just making sure. I have to state >> was from the door and from this from him pulling me in and out from in the door and out the door and in from here and out there. Okay. So this is what I'm going to do, right? I mean with that video we we see And I also turned it off. No. Okay. From what we can see in the video, it's her doing everything, right? And then like I've asked her about like some of the stuff you brought up, she's saying no, that never happened and stuff like that. So this is what I'm going to do, right? So So him trying to get in the house, push the door open and that somehow left a mark on her isn't necessarily assault. It's his residence. He has a legal right to enter there and someone's trying to block him from doing that. So that's kind of what they're saying here. If you're going to go with your girlfriend for the night, I think probably what's best, right? I'm going to give your sister a citation if you do want to pursue charges. What does a citation do? So a citation pretty much it's a it's an arrest on paper, right? Just cuz she has her child, I I don't want to take her jail today. I just got I don't want to find placement for the child and then leave the child with you after you or you know, not find placement for it. Yeah, I don't trust her. And then her kids with her his dad anyway. Yeah, so you see I I think it's probably the best course of action and the citation she still has to show up to court and answer for those charges, right? Which would be battery, right? So you can technically summon somebody for a domestic assault and battery. Most courts, most states really really don't like that, but in this case, the kid's willing to go somewhere else, so they're going to be separated. She has a child, so on and so forth. So the officers kind of giving her a break but not taking her into custody and just bringing her to court at a later date. Cuz I like in the So their video, it's cuz that's what I'm thinking like they're trying to either set them up cuz they have a recording of the whole thing and they're like all the recordings I start it's like the mom yelling at him like get out I don't want you nobody wants you and like those trying to skip I was like well hey like did you start or did he start cuz I'm like every time it's the mom yelling at him first. Yeah. And they try to skip it. Um he's going to go grab some property and then he's going to he's going to head out for he's going to grab some I guess some shaving stuff. I got you you can just go ahead and grab whatever you need. The doors are locked. Yeah he can't. I'm sorry but they're all locked. I got you well if he breaks this to get in we can't charge him for that just so you guys know okay cuz I mean it's a Well there's nothing in there. I got you well I can't prove that. All his stuff is out there. Okay. So um Stephanie you are getting charged for battery we're going to be receiving a citation today okay. Why am I being So we were able to get footage of you guys fighting over the bag that you said that there was no bag before and then we see you jumping behind him trying to get a choke hold on him on the video. I did not try to put him in a choke hold. >> I got you that's what we saw. You were also pushing him out the door. No. He was pushing him. I got you that's what we saw on video uh we're not going to argue this. Okay great so what is this citation So what's a citation? So pretty much you're just getting charged with battery for right now right you're not going to jail it's just like a ticket on paper right so you're going to have 3 days to show up to municipal court. She's not pushing back too hard here like if you got accused or going to be charged with committing battery on your brother and you didn't do it it would be crazy you'd be like absolutely not I didn't do that why you charging me not doing any of that she's kind of just accepting it which she should. Hey ma'am so hey guys so we're not going to be arguing right now so what what do you need right now? He needs to shave his stuff and it's out there if you would go walk him out there he's going to find it in there all his stuff is in there. Okay. All of his stuff. So how how does he believe it's still in here if he's not if he's still in the bathroom? Ma'am this is what this is what this is this is this is what so He just spit up all over me. Can you give me If you want to go check on we we can't stop you from him. It's locked and I don't want to break it. It's locked I already told you there's that. I like that little guy over there on the right he's enjoying virtual reality because at the moment it's much better than actual reality. I got you um Well I I know it's in there cuz I took a shower there. It's not. I got you I have no reason to lie to you dude all your stuff is not in my house nothing. No I did not. I'm telling you Miss Wood Can we just please stop yelling? Can he stop freaking trying to dictate me and try to tell me what I know what I don't have in my house? Yeah but you told me that >> [laughter] >> I'll go out there and see. Yeah we'll check it's in the third drawer and then it's also under the sink on the left side. Okay what color is it? And there there's three uh black bottles. Got you. Where was that? That's not yours. Yes there was. Oh there was stuff in there hmm interesting seems like this lady might be a bit of a liar. The red bottle is not yours no it's not. Cameron uses a blow No that's not yours. Cameron uses a Got you so we're not going to argue over property um if it's your brother just leave it if you're going to take it take it um so just cuz he was in there now doesn't mean he does still have residency here right? Well everything's going to be locked in there I got you well if he were to break in got you well if he were to break in he still has residency here so he would not be charged for breaking and entering illegally. Well none of his stuff is in there I know that. His stuff was in the room and stuff and if you want It's not there's nothing in there. he can as well. There's nothing in there. There's nothing in there. Okay and I I mean I believe I know there's nothing in there but I'm saying he can still come in here if he wants to okay the only way you can properly evict him yes I'm telling you yes the only way okay you can say no you want but yes so the the only way you can get him out of here completely is if you properly evict him or go that restraining order route that we told you about earlier. Okay? I don't even know why you still want to keep coming to my house when you're not wanted and nobody wants you here. No that's not an excuse He don't even want you here either. Man this lady's cold as ice. All right so we're going to get out of here. Nobody wants you here. Don't come back to my house Cayden. So by breaking in what do you guys mean? So like if you were to break a window to get inside Okay. It's your house you have residency here um the only thing we talked about remember was that the deprivation of property so we can't charge him right um cuz that's the house remember that's the only charge we have um so This one? Yes I'm waiting for him to leave he needs to leave you got what you needed that's all you have left in the bathroom get out get off my freaking my property. He doesn't have He doesn't have to. Get out. Ma'am he doesn't have to. I don't care I'm not leaving for my hair till you drive away with your little girlfriend. My goodness. So can you please go? Ma'am Go Cayden. I I have to talk to them. No you don't. If you want me to talk it's okay Okay. All right. Sounds good good luck with everything bro. Thank you. Have a good one man. You too. We'll get to Cayden's sister's charges in just a moment but first deputies are called to the beach for some disorderly conduct when they arrive they find themselves in the middle of a couple's drunken argument. Would you really do that your wife to get in the vehicle after she's drank almost an entire bottle of tequila? Would you allow your wife to get in the vehicle and drive your children home or would you take the her keys as well when he is that [ __ ] up? Ma'am Would you? What's up? That is my husband is wasted. Is that guy even involved in this he's just standing there like okay? He drove his truck from way down there to down here I took the keys from him >> And you have you have the keys? Yes because he's wasted Is that him over there with your kids? child from here and get my Uber and take take my kids home. Okay hang out right here let me talk to him. What's his name? Chris. Chris? I got a Uber one. Have you been drinking? Uh I told him I'm not driving. >> So you're not you don't need to drive either okay. I'm not driving I have an Uber for a reason. Okay. Thank goodness goodness gracious. What's up? Um what are you at You you called you called me what what do you need? Um so okay What what do you need? Let's turn this way so I can talk to you. Okay. This uh He needs to take an Uber and he needs an Uber home. Oh my goodness lady. He needs an Uber home. Just relax just one second. I'm leaving with my kids. I get it. I I'm leaving with my kids he's too wasted I'm for the sake of your kids. I'm not doing this anymore I've been trying to get him the last hour and a half to leave. Poor kid. Let's go get in the car please. A little badge at least. Can you get my youngest child so I can go home with him please? While he's getting an Uber I don't cuz I have his truck keys and he's not leaving in this truck. Tell me what why am I here? shitty earlier Okay so y'all y'all have both been drinking neither one of you need to drive y'all need to either get into an Uber together or separate Ubers and go home and most importantly when you get these kids home someplace safe. Understood she has my belongings Okay y'all y'all are married but y'all y'all have each other's belongings. I this is a waste of time. Okay I just want to make sure these kids are taken care of right. Yeah for sure. Okay for sure then tell her to get the Okay so so let's let's let them go. Marrying Chris with his kids. I I didn't I didn't I dude I'm not even trying to be near that What's is he not She's no she doesn't want to give me a ride cuz he she says that they don't have clothes on. And I don't have pants on either. She's Big ask her. She's canceling the ride I need you to calm down for your kids. She said I'll do it all understand me? Stop yelling in front of your kids. I've been trying to get home So no nonsense cop right there. Well I'm not taking this crazy woman home. Okay. It's far away. I drove all the way here so I have to cancel but I can cancel. Can you cancel for us so she can get the next one? I'm going to do it after I've waited because I don't get paid if I don't wait till the time is up she can cancel it now. Oh my gosh. Don't blame the lady. Long time I will. You can you can cancel it too you can cancel it too. It charges me when I cancel it so no she needs to cancel it. Then you can wait. Who is who is he is he friend? I think he's just a bystander I think he just he saw them arguing. Poor fisherman. Ridiculous kids are just in here it's just so sad. I mean quite frankly he doesn't seem all there in my opinion He was talking to me I didn't talk I didn't engage with them I just stood here cuz it was just you know make sure nothing silly happens but uh She doesn't want to give me my youngest child to take him home. Hey hey hey hey hey hey are y'all married? Yes. Okay. It doesn't matter you two drove to be out here with him right now. Hey then also He's too drunk. He's going to try to drive drunk later and that's not you're not doing that with my Quit engaging her. Quit it just just do it for me for them. Stay out of the road go this way please for them cuz they don't need to see this right now that's that's all I care about y'all can bicker and spat all day long I don't care. They don't need to see this. Y'all have both been drinking a little bit doesn't matter who's been drinking more whatever. Okay y'all have both been drinking bad decision to come out here and y'all both get drunk with the kids out here that's not a great decision okay bye. Y'all done with that? Let's take care of these two young men and make sure they get home safe. Yes sir. Are you going to let the kids go with her if they're willing to go what what If they want to go absolutely. All right but if they don't want to go, then absolutely I'm not going to make I'm not going to force either one of these kids to do anything they don't want to do. Y'all are still married. Y'all have 100% custody of each of these kids. I'm not going to make anybody do anything. But, the thing is if the if Uber gets here and she's willing to get into it, I would much rather them get in the car with her and go home than them be stuck out here with you. I hear what you're saying, but I understand the other side of the coin is that then what happens when they get home? Do you have a reason to believe they're in any kind of danger with her right now at all? Yeah, she's she's agitated, but she's not violent. If they want to go, I would absolutely let them go. But, if they don't, then absolutely not. Do you want to go with your mom? Just saying. So, he's not going to help here. He's not going to encourage the kid to go or tell him like, you know, I'll see you later or try to smooth this out, make the whole transaction easier. He's not going to do that because right now they're pitted against each other and it's a little it's a little competition. What most What is your an Uber to my house? If if if Uber comes and picks her and I guess the older kid up right now, Look at him sitting Okay, sorry. Sorry. What What is your game plan after that? Dude, shut it down. I don't want to do this tonight, dude. And I never want to do this. I mean, when I say this, I mean, you know, I mean, you can check the record. I mean, you know, every single time the police have ever been called it's because, dude, she's the aggress- When I say that, dude, she We got a history there. point fingers or pass blame or any of that [ __ ] Dude, it's just it is what it is. This is a show. I'm sorry y'all are out here for this. Do you got shoes or anything you want to try to get real quick? >> They're in my vehicle. He definitely seems more sober than her. >> Okay. Do you want to try to grab those cuz she said that the Uber should be here in just a minute. Yo, hey, dude, if it would if it would make things easier, 15 minutes. I would walk ways and we'd walk down the beach and do what we were trying to do. My son is going home with me. He is allowed to to take that kid if he wants to. That is a No. No, he's going to be out here all night. He's been drinking. He needs to go home with a safe adult that's going to get him fed and get him clothed and get him He's not capable of that. >> He's not not >> capable of that right now. There's nothing I've been talking to him for the past 10 minutes. There's nothing >> he is. done that makes me feel like he's incapable of that. He doesn't do a [ __ ] thing but drink and go to bed. Okay. That's all he does. He >> stay with a drunk adult on the beach. >> You are also a drunk adult on the beach, correct? >> I also took a 2 and 1/2 hour nap before we even got in this vehicle. I work night shifts at the hospital. I had a couple shots and I took a nap on the beach. Now, I am fully coherent The only thing >> going on around me. Ma'am, the only thing that I'm going to enforce is he's not driving this vehicle. If he wants to go walk away and he wants the kid to go with him and the kid wants to go with him, that can happen. >> So, you're going to have my son sit in the cold for an hour while he's naked almost to wait for an Uber, correct? >> Does he have any clothes in this truck? No. He does not. He has nothing in this truck. >> He's asking you to stop yelling. Poor kid. Let's get him home with her. Say again? Let's get him home with her. It is getting cold out here, man. Let's just Let's just let him go home. Why don't you want to Why don't you want to go home? What is that? Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Why is that why are you saying that I'm not telling you to do anything. I'm asking you why. I'm asking you. Because I'm wanting It is It is starting to get late. >> Sure. Would you send your They have They have apparently been home all night. >> Hold on. Hold on. Would you send your child home with her? Kind of question is that, dude? That's your wife. You married her. You had children with her. Now, she can't be alone with the kids? Is that the state we're in? The state you're in with your relationship here? And plus, he doesn't know her at all. I'm asking you a question right now. Would you send your I don't know her that well. You know her better than I do. >> So, I have to say no. Okay. I rate mothers a drunk mother nowadays. Yes, I do admit to drinking Really? three shots this morning around 8 9:00 a.m. I took also a 2 and 1/2 hour nap because I work at a hospital. Knowing I got to go to hospital because a mother is irate. She's wasted, too. That's Ma'am, if you could calm down for a second. He's calm and we can get all four of y'all in a single Uber and send y'all home. That's all I can He's not getting my Uber. He can order his own goddamn He can take the kid in a different Uber. He's not taking my [ __ ] kid. I will go to jail behind it. >> he's going to take both of your kids. How does that solve anything? >> My mom will be on the way to get him real quick. No, she Your mom doesn't have custody of your kid. Y'all would rather let a drunken dad keep his >> The only person who has been belligerent since I've been out here is [ __ ] Cuz y'all don't give two flying I do. The You don't. >> That's the only thing I care about care about you. I don't care about him. Oh, I care about my goddamn kids and that's it. Then start acting like it. >> I [ __ ] do. Why do you think I'm fighting it so goddamn hard? If I didn't care, I would have already been gone. If I didn't care, I would have left him with that kid and I would have been gone. Here's the thing. You've got the police interjected into your life because you're not really able to live your life appropriately at the moment. So, they're going to start making decisions for you and you might not like them. It also could be that Don't you lie again. You drove from almost four pickings down here wasted. The whole reason they're standing here cuz I took the keys from you. And you got mad that I did. That's the whole reason they're even standing here. You need to own up to your goddamn dumb Crazy thing. So, at this point, are you willing to go with her? Just sit in the front seat and not say anything. >> No, dude, I won't follow her. Can I take my son and leave? Are you coming? No, I'm not I'm not going at all. No, no, absolutely not. I'm not going to go. My son's coming with me. Just go, dude. No, he's not. He has no clothes. Hey, I'm going to turn around and come on that side. Okay, sounds good. Thank you so much. He has no clothes. He has no shoes. Oh, thank you so much. Too funny. He has not >> So, he's calling a separate Uber for the sake of peace. >> It don't matter. He's My son's going with me. I don't trust >> You cannot make your son go with you. >> I can. Wait till you get somebody snatch your ass up and send you to jail, dude. You Everyone's going home. He's just taking a separate Uber with that kid. >> Okay, so that kid needs to go in my Uber. Nope. That kid needs to go in my Uber. >> Nope. That kid said no. You can't You cannot put your hands on me. >> You got to go to jail. Stop. >> I'm walking to give my kid a kiss. Sure. I'm telling my kid bye. That kid said You're not going to shove me to the ground. I'm not taking my child. I'm telling him goodbye. Now, it's time to go. Saw that coming. So, I can't tell my kids goodbye? Drunk and disorderly. >> disorderly and drunk. That's fine. That's fine. I'm trying to You can stop being rough with me. Ain't nobody Ain't nobody Ain't nobody Ain't nobody Got that loop going on. Two way we got one way here. Come on, Mommy. So, you're going to arrest me for asking to tell my kids bye? >> Nope, I'm Yes, that is illegal. You can't do that. >> Okay, now I told you all I wanted to do was tell my kid goodbye. >> You're here screaming, hollering. >> to do was tell my kid goodbye. I can't even tell my kid goodbye.
