Making an arrest as a cop can be tough, but they're always made worse when it involves kids. Here we have three kids that need to be rescued from a hot car because their mom went into the store for 5 minutes. >> Okay, so you left them in the car by themselves. >> No, that lady. She don't even know them. >> And in another case, we have a mother who got so intoxicated that she lost track of her own son. >> Let me in. >> He's not inside. >> YOUR KIDS. BUT FIRST, WE HAVE a mom who locked her three kids in the car in the Florida sun. >> What's up, brother? >> They uh they sold so the car was off. They managed to get the key from this side. >> Is the car on or off? >> The car's off. >> There's another girl. She's 70 years old. She was I don't know. Another [laughter] person here took no grandma. >> Me. I'm her friend. She in the store. I went this way. >> She took the little girl so we can try to find out who the mama was. The little girl. She can watch them in there. >> Okay. But where's the seven-year-old daughter? >> Some lady took her in the store. >> She took >> and with the keys. >> The lady took in the store because we was trying to figure out who the parent was. So, because she was the the oldest out of them, they was already over here. >> So, them two plus the seven-year-old were in the car. I pul Yeah, cuz they was already over here on the phone, I guess, calling y'all and I and they couldn't open the door and the car was up. So when I came, I pulled I just I pull them out the trunk. They was on top. This one was on top of that one, but I took them out and stuff where the sevenyear-old the sevenyear-old was watching them. >> This is the You're the friend of the grandmother. >> The car was the car was off. >> And the car was off. back door. Mommy, this where your kids is at. I just saying it was locked. I took the back car seat from top and I just pulled the seat back. It was in the trunk. >> Who's that? Is that the owner? >> This is nuts. They're in the trunk. I mean, this is Florida. The sun is super hot. I think everybody knows the temperature in cars rise super fast. They have a whole chart for it. Like after 10 minutes, it's like over 110°. After half an hour, it can be up to almost 150. So this is really crazy. These kids could have died. >> The vehicle got that off and I pushed that right there. But this is >> Are you the owner of this vehicle? >> I can't My friend was bringing the groceries. >> Okay. How long How long were you did you leave these? >> Okay. Cuz cuz we have people that are coming to the car and they're saying that >> this car was off with no AC with two babies in the car >> and then she ain't going to admit to that. >> I don't know why she got out the car. >> I was watching them when he >> I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Who are you? >> Yes. I'm a friend of hers. When he first started calling 911, he saw me standing out there in the car. >> Went to go use the bathroom. >> So you were here at the car? >> Yes. I guess cuz I wasn't right there. He feel like they by their stuff. So I told this young lady to watch them while I go get the mom. >> It's just a bunch of nonsense. >> Don't make no sense. They just do too much right here. >> So were you the one that was watching the kids? >> Yes. I'm saying >> when she went inside? >> Yes. >> I got the kids and everything. He said, "Oh no, they by their stuff. I didn't see you took the car." >> You mind me asking why did you take the seven-year-old inside? >> No, she was right here watching them. I asked her to watch them for me while I go get her to just No, I was watching them. I told her to watch them for me. Why I go get her? Cuz I'm like he's doing too much. He making a big scene for no reason. There's nothing wrong. >> You were watching him too. >> Was the car on or off? >> Okay. So far, this is about as clear as mud. We need some other witnesses to come in here. Some people that don't know this lady so we can get a little bit of a more clear picture. >> Power's off. I had the key. >> She had the key. She they they key off. >> Yeah. They making a big He kept calling pennies out of Tag and everything like what? I I'm so upset with him. How long were you guys gone for the car? >> We was not gone. I was here. She ran inside to get some shoes and get some clothes. This don't make no sense. This just don't make no damn sense. And I'm telling him I'm here right here on the phone with 911. Then he took pictures of the test. Oh, my girlfriend together in his car. >> Yes. >> Okay. And you were just outside of the car. >> And are you with them or you just were helping out? >> I was helping out. I walked over here, but I seen them over here. question. You mind stepping over here real quick so I can ask you a quick question? >> When you when you came over? >> Mhm. >> Who was watching the video? >> Nobody. She that lady lying. She don't even know them people. >> Oh jeez. >> She She doesn't know who they are. >> So she was never >> girls. What happened was when I came out of Walmart, I seen them already up there talking. I seen them kept saying a great cop, but they mind you, I'm at my car. I'm parked over there. So you know, I ain't being funny. I'm like, damn. I seen the Spanish people loaded up and I hear them saying kids in a great car. So, you know, I ain't going to cap. I turned around like what the [ __ ] they pointing at? They keep saying kids in the car by >> I never saw her like around the area. Them people that Spanish them people say them kids them kids. When I pulled them out the back, them kids are full sweat, bro. They diapers is so they smell like >> and she went to take her to go find the mama. So, she as Yeah, she asked me to watch me while I go. She go find the mama and I just gave him the water. Did >> did she leave them in the car until you watch them? Or did you are you the one that took them out and put them in the shopping cart? >> No, I took I put them in the shopping cart. I just took them out of the car. >> Okay. You're the one that took. >> Thank goodness for these people talking >> and I told her I was going to leave. He said, "No, don't leave." Cuz they really going to think they by theirself. And then that's when I said, "Well, just watch the [ __ ] while I go get the mama." >> Yeah, I got you. All right, just stand by for a second. All right. >> Did you two come here together? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Okay. So, you left them in the car by themselves? >> No. >> So, why did she rip out the babies out of the car seat? >> Rip out what? >> Did you go inside? >> She only ripped out the seven girls. >> The doll was >> So, what happened was I seen >> She's the one that took the >> I when I open I'm going just show you what it looked like when I open. >> This was like this. >> The secret flip up like this. >> I seen one baby, which was him. >> Yeah. First >> I pulled him out and then that's when I realized there was another baby in there. >> So but you seen them in the car by themselves. >> Yeah, they was then she I got her out and when when I pulled her out that's when I seen that one and I >> So it must have been when she came to get me to get my car wasn't in the car alone but they were alone for long enough for multiple people. >> So when she got her that lady so we could we was like let's just go try to find the mom cuz they was already on the phone with police. I said what the phone. So, with all this being said, you left your kids alone. >> You didn't leave them alone. I went in the store to give her the car. I went in there to give her my bank card. No, no, but you have to understand, you left them alone long enough for multiple people to call for their wellbeing. It is what it is, right? Lesson learned. We're not going to do that again because if she would have put the car in drive or put the car in reverse, that's a rem that's a freaking removal, right? Cus will be called. You cannot do that. I'm sorry. It is what it is. I understand you're trying to do whatever it is that you got to do, but mom to mom, it's 90° outside. You left them in the car long enough, multiple people call 911. It cannot happen. And not only that, you left them in there long enough that someone was able enough to remove them from the car, have fire, rescue come, then have the police come. That's too long. >> Great points by this officer. She explained it, summarized it perfectly. Hopefully, this woman can take this in. >> Do you understand where I'm coming from? Okay, it's South Florida. People kidnap kids all the time and that's an easy lick. >> So before we go, I need to make sure those car seats are installed correctly. >> They don't do anything. >> How old are the little ones? >> Um she's seven. >> Grandma, that ain't going to work. They got to still get us strapped up cuz she got to take their >> Whose phone is this? >> Not mine. Sit down. >> Sit down. Sit down. Sit down. Sit down. Sit down. >> How old is this one? >> She's two. >> The little one. >> I'm going to tell you this right now. These aren't the correct car seats >> for them. >> [screaming] >> We Walmart has video cameras. The kids were by themselves for 37 minutes of prophecy. >> That's insane. 37 minutes locked in a car in Florida like that. This woman is very lucky. These kids definitely could have gotten seriously injured or even died. >> 37 minutes. I don't know if you let time escape you, whatever. But at the end of the day, they left 37 minutes unattended for >> that, >> but it was though cuz we got it on camera. We We have you walking in. We have both you guys walking in and then we have you walking out with the cart and then the lady in the purple dress coming to get you. It's between 37 and 40 minutes. Okay. My sergeant is on his way out here. I think he's going to come out here to talk to you and figure out what to do from here, but mom, you can't do that. Does your AC work? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> I just got to fix >> the back. >> Okay. All right. Well, you guys just got to wait. Okay. >> Child neglect or child endangerment can be charged as a felony in most states. So, this is definitely very serious. >> So, tell me what happened today. >> So, we were walking. I I usually never park here. I usually park there. So, we happened to come to Walmart and we started walking. As we got to the door, before the door, her son is the one that noticed that there was a sound coming like a knock. A knock on the back of the trunk. Did you see him? >> I saw the car seats. >> He saw the car seats, but he said, "I think there's somebody in there." >> So, you noticed the sound in the back of the trunk? >> Yeah. As we started walking down there, then I then he said, "Let's go take a look." So, I thought about it. I said, "That's not that couldn't be true." But I went and took a look anyways. So, we had nothing to do. So when we look, I don't see nobody there, but he's the one that noticed that there was uh they were stuffed in the back of the the trunk. And I said, "Oh my god, there are people back there. There's kids." >> Would you How did you know that there was kids in the trunk? >> Because we were looking inside the the car. >> That is a really weird piece of it that they were in the trunk like that. Um, either the kids were getting really hot and they were trying to get out, which is really sad, [music] or the mom put them in the trunk because she knew she wasn't supposed to leave them in the car alone. Either way, terrible. >> Inside the car, >> correct? >> And you saw what? A hand, a foot. >> I seen I seen foot and I seen diapers and stuff a little bit like that moving. >> So, you seen a foot sticking out? >> Yes. Yes, ma'am. >> All right. So, hold on. >> That's when I called quickly. The car was off. There was no AC blowing in there. And we even looked in a car. The car car was completely off. >> Who do you live with? >> I have my own place. >> You don't live with anybody? >> No. >> Do you have any family member in the area? >> Why am I going to go to jail? >> To be honest, yes. >> Why? What did I do wrong? >> Okay. So, I'm going to explain this to you, right? I have two witnesses. We're just going to I'm going to explain to you have I have two witnesses, mom to mom, cuz I have a 5-year-old. have two witnesses that called 911. Your kids were found in the trunk of a car with Oh, yes. >> They play in the trunk of the car. They wasn't found in no trunk of the car. >> No, no, no. >> That's how they got noticed. Cuz they heard a >> Yeah, cuz they be playing in the trunk. You can ask my daughter. >> No, no, no. I don't care. I don't care. I don't care about that. >> This always be playing in the trunk. They always >> in 90° weather. >> The car was on. >> No, it wasn't. >> I swear to you, you can ask my child. She could tell you the car was on. Okay, but you can ask my daughter. The car was on. >> She's seven. I'm talking to >> It doesn't matter what I said to them. They're going to ask my daughter questions. >> Still not okay. Even if the car is on to two grown adults, not a seven. >> But y'all not taking my my story either. Y'all just >> You were inside Walmart. >> Yeah, but not for long. >> For 37 minutes. >> I saw you on camera. Go inside that store and you were gone for 37 minutes. Nobody goes into Walmart for 10 minutes. >> No, because I stole my >> You don't have any family members. >> I told her that I was not going to go in the store, >> but because I had need to grab a few extra things, I still didn't need to go in my first box. I've never been to no jail. >> We know. We know. >> But you need to call a family member to go work with them. >> Do you understand? >> I cannot afford to go to jail. Okay, look. >> It's either It's either you can find a family member or >> I mean, I'm not going to have too much of a choice, but can I please speak to the sergeant, please? >> You have rights if I can speak to the police. >> Yeah. >> She wants to talk to a sergeant. >> You either tell us somebody right now who can come and pick up your kids. somebody that is reliable, somebody that doesn't have a a huge criminal history, somebody that is willing and able to take care of your kids. It's either they go with somebody that you know that they're in good hands or they're going to the state. It is a better option if you have somebody come and pick them up cuz if they go to the state, it is not a good look with Cless. >> No, it's not. But I just don't understand why y'all can't just send me home. CPI is going to come to my house regardless. I'm going to take a chance. >> You're 100% right. There's they're still coming, but action needs to be taken right now. So, it's either you tell it. It's either you >> again, it's two options. You either tell us somebody right now that can pick them up or they're going to the >> but my phone is dead. I have family. I >> You don't have a char. You don't have a charger in your car. >> My car charger. >> What phone do you have? >> I have a charger, too. Let me throw it on there real quick. >> Yeah. Go around the back. Turn around. >> Please do not do this. >> Turn around. >> Can I please talk to him, please? >> Excuse me, sir. Please. >> Twist your arm. >> I want to go family. I don't >> Bro, that's nasty. Please take a photo of my kids, bro. And now you need handcuffs. Come on. You're not >> She's definitely going to see her kids again. The main mission of Child Protective Services is not so remove kids from people's houses. They they generally try to reunite them with their parents and kind of guide them along. So, they'll probably be a case open. They'll follow her for a little bit, make sure the behavior is corrected, and then she'll be on her way. Mommy, you'll be out in a few hours. Come on. I don't want you to get hurt. I can't go. How am I going to be able to call somebody but my kid? And you said you was going to charge my phone. >> Your phone is charging. Once your phone is charged, I'll come to you and we'll get a phone number. Who are you going to call for your children? >> I got to call my family. No, >> cuz that's what I was trying to get you to do earlier, but you didn't want to. So, your phone's charging. I need to talk. >> We'll get back to Sierra's charges in just a moment. But first, we have a mother who's so intoxicated that she's searching bars for her 16-year-old son at 1:00 a.m. INTO >> Stop pounding ON THE DOOR. >> STOP POUNDING on the door. >> THIS IS ON CAMERA IN CASE YOU'RE WONDERING. >> Stop pounding on the door. This is on camera. >> Stop pounding on the door. This is on camera. My kid is here. YOU'RE WORRIED ABOUT ME POUNDING THE [ __ ] DOOR. >> DON'T PUT YOU I DID IT. YOU AGAIN. ALL OF THIS IS ON CAMERA. >> BACK UP. >> You better get your hands off then. Don't put your finger on my foot. >> I DID IT. YOU STEPPED INTO MY HAND. MY KID IS IN HERE. >> Stop about this. >> Yes. Here. >> You come in. >> They were here. She was with her kid >> and she she was sitting at she was trying to sit at the bar and then we the group of managers who told her, >> "Oh my gosh, this lady is a mess and I'm guessing has just a wee bit of alcohol on board." >> No, you're drinking and you have a kid next to you. You have to leave. >> Either you sit at the table or >> 36 you call >> or you don't want kids in the bar. this thing. >> But she's she's been acting like super weird all night. We told her you need to leave, you know. >> So where where's her kid at right now? >> I don't. >> She He left like an hour. >> What do you think he was? >> He's like 16 15 years old. He's not a kid kid. He's He's very grown up. So he probably knows. >> But he she like sent him somewhere. I don't know where. I mean, she's staying here for probably like another hour and then I don't know what, >> but she's she's kind of >> Yeah. You guys want her obviously away from your building? >> Yeah. >> Watch out. >> Yes, please. >> I'm coming outside. >> Hi, dumbass. >> WHERE IS MY KID? >> I don't What do you have a phone number for your kid? >> WHERE IS MY KID? >> He's not inside. YOUR KIDS. >> SO, HOW DO I How do they They don't know where your kid is. What's your phone number for your kid? Does your kid have a phone? >> Where is my kid? >> Where are you staying at right now? Come on. Let's go over here and talk. Come on. Come on, ma'am. Let's go talk over here. >> THERE'S NOTHING TO TALK ABOUT, DUMBASS. KNOW HOW TO GET a Chevy with a alarm on his phone. >> What's his number so I can call him? >> Huh? What's his phone number so I can call him? >> Wow, did not see that one coming. This guy shows up to help you find your kid and you commit assault and battery on him by hawking a lugie. Unbelievable. Great job. >> Okay. >> Where is my dude? Don't even walk. >> Down she goes. Frogs, please. >> Are you going to help me up or no? anyone. >> Where's my kid? >> I don't know. >> I know you does not do this. Where's my kid? I don't. >> So, as police officers, we treat missing kids or juveniles in this case very seriously. So, cops probably thinking this is going to be a problem because the the woman's assaulting me, but we still are going to have to find this kid. >> I want you to put your knee in my back. >> So, I don't want you fall over. >> You just spit in my face. >> Yes, you did. So that's what you're mad about instead of my kid. >> Oh, you're so mad about it now. >> No. Where is my kid? >> I don't know. Stand up. >> Stop. Okay. Did you sleep? >> We're going to wait on this. >> My kid. Jog a little bit harder. Who you? I need my kid. I need my kid. It was his singer. >> She just spit my face. >> No, I didn't. You better make sure you have all of that on camera. You better make sure that you have everything on camera behind. >> My body cam was rolling. >> All right, fair enough. You better make sure you think of all of that before that. >> My kid is a black kid. >> It's windy, so he probably dried up a lot. >> I don't care about that. My kid literally like missing me, you know. Stop. Stop. Why? >> Don't miss us. >> I was trying to talk to you about it, man. But you then you spit in my face. We're going to go talk OVER HERE. >> MY KID. >> STOP. We will talk about your kid WHEN WE GET TO [screaming] >> WORRIED ABOUT THAT, YOUING [ __ ] YOU >> SPIT IN MY FACE. >> Oh my god. Ow. Let's go. >> You better hope to God that he is the only God. >> He better hope. You're the mother. He's just trying to help. >> Stop resisting us right now. You're going to the car. >> My kid is missing. He better hope. Oh, my kid isn't really missing. Hear me out. >> You better hope cuz he has every lock. He knows how to take my car. I came down here at night watch every drag you. YOU BETTER HOPE TO GOD THAT MY KID ISN'T MISSING. >> Stand up. You don't want to drag me. >> I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU dragging me. You caning mess up everything about me. BUT WHAT ABOUT MY KID? WHAT ABOUT MY KID? >> Right about now, this other cop is like, "Brother, what are you dragging me into here?" >> You going to stand up? >> Where's my kid? >> Look for your kid. Stand up, [ __ ] Grandma, you got your county phone on you? >> I'll do whatever you want to do. >> I'm going to go to my car and grab mine. >> So, they can't really get anything useful out of this lady by now. I mean, this is a missing juvenile, so they should have had a description out, his age, where he was last seen, where he usually goes to, things like that. A bolo so other cops can hear it and help if they have to. Um, [music] but because she's the way she is, they're getting nothing. Huh? >> I'm kid. >> What's your kid's phone number? >> This car isn't working. >> Okay. Is there another Is there another number? >> No. No. >> Okay. What kind of car is it? >> It's the white Chevy track. >> What year? >> It's a license plate 2024. He knows it's a military plane. >> All right. Well, stand up so we can go talk about this at the car. Okay, you ready? We're going to help you out. Three, two, >> I can get up by myself. >> Well, it's just to help you out because you got your hands behind your back. >> No, but I I need >> Can you guys just let go just for a second? >> Look, >> can you just I know how to walk, but this is my >> Okay, let's walk to the cars and we'll go talk over there. >> Oh my gosh. >> Can you just let go? Can one of you go? >> Look, I don't want you to slip and fall. You've already slipped and fell several times, remember? Because >> Okay, come on. >> You mad that I spit in your face, but it's my kid. Can you imagine if it's your kid and then you walked inside to spit? Yeah, but you walked inside and you laughed at me. >> I still running down in my face. >> Come on. Okay, we're going down the stairs. So, I'm going to grab it. I don't want you to fall. >> I have to. I know how to do this. I did this numerous times cuz I'm still trying to figure out where my kid is. >> Okay. Where did you park your car at? >> Over there. My car. >> Over there. Like in front of who? Uh-uh. You're going to these cars first. >> I know. I know. >> Come on. No. Come. >> Okay. [laughter] All right. You can go. >> Same person. >> So, you think he might be in the car over there or is the car not over there right now? >> The car three times >> and he's not in the car. >> No. >> Okay. Did he have any friends out here? Cuz I know it was like the last day for seniors. >> He's also the same person that walks over and he's like, "Hey guys, he said you guys see." He said, "You guys can't read." He said, "Stop. Please stop." I'm like, "Call her go. >> We just don't want you to follow." >> Yeah. But when he said to me, he said to me, he was like, "Mama, we can't leave people like this." >> Came in there and he said to me, he was like, "Mama, I'm going to watch you." Even the people like doesn't leave me. Doesn't leave me. >> Mom, I'm going to watch you. Do you need watching often? >> All right. So, let's stand up. Okay. >> Yeah. hear me? >> All right, we're just going to get in this back seat. Okay. >> Can you please take this off? >> Here, I'll I'll make sure they're not too tight, but >> Yeah, but we won't do this. >> I used to be a 911 dispatcher. Won't do this. I promise. >> He even came in 2 minutes and you What if I go? What if I go to slander? She's like, "No, mama. It's okay. get me over here. It's so good. And and I even showed up today and I met everybody at the beach and they started talking all around. So I told him, I said, "It's okay." >> Okay, come on. Get in the car. It's not a debate anymore. >> I know, but just find my kid. >> So this deputy's going to go drive over there. What year is the tracks? >> It's a 2021. >> It has a US Navy tag. >> You go look over there and see if you can see one. White Chevy tracks. Just Just hang out for one. Hang out for one second. >> All right. What's your last name, >> ma'am? This is data birth. >> Oh, you've gone silent. >> Look at me. Sit up. Sit up so we can talk about your son. I'm trying to find out the information I need in order to assist you finding your son. says date of birth. >> Yes or no? >> Huh? >> Boo is not over there. >> Okay. My other deputy is going over there. Look for him. >> What was What was he last wearing? >> Huh? >> And he has my phone, too. >> Okay. Well, then what's your phone number? >> Boo was with me the whole night. Okay. >> So, the quicker you're going to >> Can I tell you some good news? >> He's gone. Let it be my kid. >> Yep. Your kid's asleep in the car. >> But she checked three times. [laughter] >> How do you know if she's clean? He He got the driver's license, she says. But I'm going to take her over there. >> I mean, I got her pulled up in here. >> All right. Hey, listen. Listen, [laughter] listen. Hey, >> you have to drink tonight. >> This is your sign. Stop drinking alcohol. 363. Are you positive? >> He's in the car. He's in the car. >> He was not there. He was not there. No. No. No. No. No. As long as he's there, I'm okay. I don't care. I don't care. All right, >> man. What's going on with mama tonight? >> This poor kid. >> Oh, I don't know. She probably misses. >> I got you. You going to be able to drive her home? Cuz clearly she can't drive. >> As long as you got a DL, we'll be good. Hey. >> Hey. >> Your son Your son's right over here in the car right now. We're talking to him. >> Can you let him see me cuz he's going to >> Can you just come over here and talk to me from the other side so he >> Yeah. Yeah, that's not a problem. All right. So, let's talk about something here. I'm going to read you something. Okay. How much did you have to drink tonight? Do you think you had the right to remain silent? Do you want me to give you one more opportunity to understand the rights? >> I just want to be able to go home with my kid and understand. >> Can I read you these things? Can I read your rights one more time and you listen and understand what I'm trying to read to you or No. Yeah. >> Okay. >> I just want to go home. >> So, can I can I just ask you one question? What what made you spit on me? Like, I mean, it wasn't it it was it's going to be obvious. You just turned, looked at me, and spit at me. Why? If you don't have have an answer, that's all you have to say. >> I want to get in the car with my kid cuz he's the most important thing to me. >> Okay. Why? Why didn't you want to talk to me? Because obviously I was there trying to help you out and instead you keep beating and banging on their door when I'm right there to help you. And look, if you would have just cordially spoke with me and just let everything go, he and I would have found your son right away. >> Instead, you turn and spit at me right in my almost in my mouth. >> Look at me. I want to talk to you as adult. Can you look at me for just a second? >> No. Okay. >> All right. So, at this point in time, I could be taking >> This is not a bro thing.
