Police tracked a stolen vehicle and located it on a busy roadway. When officers approached, the pair inside tried to escape. The driver accelerated straight at an officer. The officer fired one round, striking the driver in the head. He later faced multiple charges including aggravated assault on a public safety officer, theft by receiving stolen property, obstruction of a law enforcement officer, driving while license suspended, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
