He was over there screaming about his suitcase. You know, I thought nothing of it. Next thing you know, I see him grabbing my freaking wife from across the street. So, I came. >> So, you came running over? I saw you coming over and then what'd he do to you? >> He just knocked me off the bike. I was like, >> "Any scrapes? Anything?" >> Yeah. Um, just my elbow. >> Okay. Man. >> All right. We were out with Jason [music] earlier today trespassing from a store. Um he comes up here today while we're driving down the street. He's going crazy in the middle of the road. These just attacks [music] two random people. Um this is what community police is all about. We're on the road. We're driving around. We're making contact with people. We're watching out for our citizens. 27 victim just attacked just because he felt like it. Nobody's injured luckily. But what if we weren't here so fast? We cut him a break earlier. No more breaks. He's got to be put away so that [music] our community can have peace and order and safety. So that's what we're doing today. Everybody's going home safe. He's going to jail. >> Will you review the camera? >> So, >> we have a new unit on uh patrol called the proactive uniform patrol unit. It's made of actual patrol officers and they go out and they do proactive police work and they just had a vehicle flee from them and we're going to try and get ahead of it with some stop sticks and take the uh tires off. >> Okay, west on. >> Sounds like we're after a red Dodge caravan. >> Try and get ahead of it so I can throw some uh stinger stop sticks underneath its tires. north or west on north. >> You going west or north? >> Sorry. Let me give you another. >> So, we're racing to get to a fleeing vehicle in our city. We are right here. >> Um, >> it fled from officer Senle. He tried to initiate a traffic stop and it took flight. So, we're trying to get to the area quickly um to use utilize stops and other things like that to get the vehicle down. >> That white street going to continue eastbound way. Can one come up? >> It looks like we've got a pretty good box around this vehicle. I know I'm parallel to it. Um, now it's headed southbound, but there's cars up there. So, we got to prepare for everything. >> So, we know that they >> can't remember the name. Sheridan. >> Sheridan. It's over here. Looks like you went south. >> All right, >> we're looking for a red dodge van. So, we're pretty much in the area. >> It's not a pursuit. So, we turn our lights off. >> He's headed towards MB. >> I'm not on it. >> Might have just been right here. >> He's going the other way. So it just >> southbound. >> All right, I'm going to get out to speedway in case he goes west on speedway. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. >> Should be coming out the speedway. >> Up there. We got the third stop. >> Damn it. >> Okay. >> All right. He's through speedway. So, I'm going to jump to the next street to the south. We're not behind him. We're actively street to the left, street to the right, trying to get next to him so we can get ahead of him. >> So, we can throw stops in front of him. >> Circle in this area right here. So, they're either looking for a place to bail >> or they're trying to lose us. >> Heading toward streets. But the good thing about it is our officers are very well verssed in these streets. They know which street's going to lead to what. So it's over here. >> Good. >> Eastbound on South Street. >> All right. I'm going to try to get up to Belleview. >> Like I keep saying, we've got it pretty well where it's going. We're going to be able to um utilize stopsticks and other things of that nature to get this vehicle slowed down. >> Yeah, he's headed towards King South. >> All right. So, >> he's pushing uh he's pushing east. I keep choosing the western streets, but around the apartments. No, you're going to go east of the apartments. >> So, I'm asking our dispatcher now to patch both channels for our sister district. >> Northbound on school. Actually, >> school. We know our attack goes back to >> Marco toward. >> All right. He's coming our direction is he decides to come back west. I'm going stage and get sticks under me. Okay, south through Sounds like we got a positive stop. Looks like it might >> South King fail out, please. No, he's going to make it to Shady and then go. >> Shady dead ends. He's going super slow. >> Go. >> He's going extremely slow. We've ripped his tires off of his car. We're just setting up a perimeter around him so the dog can get close in case he bails out and runs. >> All right, we got even more of his tires. >> Fairbore turn. >> Looks like Sergeant Mar got a uh stick hit there on him. Sergeant Marcat. >> All right. So, he's going north on Palmetto now. >> He's going like three going down three yards. >> All right. Going 3 miles an hour cuz tires are brown. >> Yeah. All the way to the north. Go attack one. Update the location. >> Going northbound Ridgeway coming up to Fairmont. It looks like >> okay 13 centralized ice westbound Fremont. K9's lead >> into the parking lot of the Traveler's End. >> Okay, we're going to get him here in the Traveler's End. >> Stay in your car. Dog's out in a second. >> Black male running. Stay in your car. He's running west. Dog is out. >> Stay in your car. >> Stay in your car. Running to see grave. >> Northbound. Dogs on. >> So, it sounds like the dog's after the guy who bailed out. They're giving them verbal commands. >> Dude, move your car, brother. I'm taking one into custody. >> Sounds like we got one in custody. >> Stay back. Stay back. >> Okay, bro. You all right? >> You got cuffs on you. >> Good boy. >> Hey Tim, >> did you get a bike? >> Roger. >> No bite. >> No bite. >> So tried to hide back here after we fled from the police. We ripped his tires off. >> Tried to hide back here. Dog hooked him down. didn't have to bite him and uh tried to fight a little bit. Didn't work out so well for him. >> You guys okay? Everybody okay? >> Sounds like he's going to be going to jail and >> I ain't got nothing, bro. >> Prison to follow me. >> Roll towards you. >> Hey, none of my body though, please. >> Bring the legs over. Um, his accessory to the multiple aggravated assaults on law enforcement. Um, ended up, uh, making the decision to also try to outrun Ali. Um, spoiler alert, that didn't end well for her. Ended up tracking the uh actual target who has multiple uh forceful felony warrants. Um, driving through this complex, swerving at multiple cops. Um, with just no care in the world for anybody else other than himself. Tracked him here through a swamp over my belt. Um, at that point, Ali started showing showing normal behavior and uh I actually didn't even hear Ali engage him because when I did end up getting a light on Ali, uh, the defendant had Oi fully submerged underneath the swamp. So, he's good. Ali's fine. He likes to swim. I had to teach him to swim later on in life. But, uh, so he'll have a slew of charges. Um, so for those wondering, it is a felony to uh to try to kill a dog like that. So, bad day for him, good day for all cops. Everybody's safe. >> Don't run from BCAT and Ollie. He never misses. >> In Daytona Beach where they caught a fleeing vehicle. >> This is the suspect. >> Your arm and your leg. Anything else? >> Behind my thigh. Right here. >> Behind your thigh right there. >> It hurt. I'm tell >> you guys to the hospital. You ready? >> Could have been avoided if he didn't run from the police. So, actions have consequences. Point proven. And then um I'm >> all right. >> She said it succinctly there >> Daytona Beach. Officers there were also in >> following a fleeing vehicle last night. >> This time it was a Nissan Rogue. Detective Ashlin Cooper threw down stopsticks which seemed to do the trick. Eventually the car crashed. The driver took off on foot. A lot of what happened next, we did not see on camera. We did see this guy getting put into a patrol car. That's the driver who, as we were told by K9 Detective Roger Lawson, had gotten in some sort of fight in a swamp with him and K9 Ali before he was eventually taken into custody. So joining us now is K9 Detective Roger Lawson along with K9 Ali. Thanks a lot. Good to see you, sir. So take us through what happened. >> Yes, sir. Well, uh, it actually started out, uh, in down on southern southern Rididgewood, um, pretty far away from where it happened. Uh, Detective Golbreth and, uh, Detective Smith observed, uh, Mr. Darot in the vehicle, and, uh, he was known to have a bunch of felony warrants. So, he decided he was going to, uh, flee away from us, and that didn't work out too well for him. So, he ended up getting uh stopped stuck several times and uh ultimately bailed in a really really condensed residential area. Um pretty high swamps back there, but uh K9 Ali was able to find him for sure. >> Well, you mentioned last night that he was sort of trying to push K9 Ali down into the water. How is how is the K9 doing? And tell us more about what happened. >> Yes, sir. He uh he did try to drown him. Um, when we were in the woods, it it was extremely thick and and I really couldn't see much uh much more than the hand in front of my face and Ali was on leash about 30 ft ahead of me. Uh, at that point, uh, Target said that, uh, the dog was in contact with him. However, uh, Officer Goel and I were were shining down the area where Target was, and we could only see him. Uh, I was able to feel, uh, just just through the leash that Oie was still on the leash. So, he was probably underwater for 20 seconds or more. Um, and then once once we actually came within about 5 ft of target, he actually um Ali kind of propelled himself out of the water. So, he had uh he had Kanan Ali completely completely submerged. Couldn't see a tail, couldn't see ears, nothing for more than 20 seconds. >> You mentioned Michael Darot. Uh he's got a a slew of charges now. and also a woman who was with him, Shaniah Moore, as well. Both of them have charges now, real quick. >> Yes, sir. They both do. Uh, she aided him in this in this whole this whole situation last night, and as far as I'm concerned, she's as guilty as he is for, uh, everything that happened. >> And she's got a whole slew of charges as well. Um, thank you, detective, for taking the time to join us. And, uh, we're so glad to hear that K9 Ali is doing okay. >> Yes, sir. Sergeant Mike Bryan responding to reports of a man trashing a hotel room. >> Is he still in there? >> Yeah, we can give you the key if you want to, but we wanted to show you who he who he is. >> Is he your problem? >> Yes. He's trashing our room. He's destroying our TV. He's threatened the man that works up here in the wheelchair. >> Okay. Where's the key? >> Chucks up in the office. I'll go get it. >> Bring it. Yeah. He's got nunchucks. >> Yes. >> Has he threat? Okay. >> Yes, he is getting wild. Victor 29, >> I was just advised that the uh male may have nunchucks or something. Got a second unit in it just in case to deal with a ninja here. >> Uh staff just said he's destroying the room. He's got >> nunchucks. So, we're going to wait for a second unit. They're going to open the door. They're going to go and try to get this guy out. um he's possibly vandalizing it and uh probably under the influence of something um if he's destroying a motel room. So >> that second unit gets here, we'll have them open the door and we'll make contact with this gentleman. We got him identified already >> from their registration. So Three. Victor 29 central. If you still got a list, I'd like to get on it again. >> Victor 29. Good. Three. Victor 29. Good. When was he supposed to be out? >> Uh, tonight. My boss puts him on. >> Just because he's tearing the room up or >> Yeah, he's destroying our property and he did threaten our other staff. >> How do we know he's destroying the property? >> My boss saw him on the camera hitting the TV. >> There's a camera in the room. >> Uh, the camera's pointing right into the room. Which room is it? >> Straight ahead. >> Hold on to that. That's right here. >> All the way straight ahead. Yeah. >> Directly in front of us. >> 143. >> Okay. So, he's since closed the blinds. >> Yep. >> Did you go >> We'll be back in Daytona. Sergeant Mike Bryan may be dealing with the Daytona Ninja Warrior. >> Trust me, those are dangerous. >> Call you guys. >> So, I guess the guy Hold on a second. So, I guess there's a camera. The blinds were open and he was destroying the room with nunchucks or with his hands. Okay. What was he destroying the room with? >> So he went to tell him, "Hey, boss wants you to leave. Destroying the room. Violation of the rental agreement." He said, "I'm leaving tomorrow. I'm leaving." So he's refusing to leave. >> He threaten anybody with >> He didn't threaten you with nunchucks, right? >> Threaten the guy in the wheelchair talking office. >> Okay. So the guy in the wheelchair came over here. >> Yeah, he also came with me. >> What? He threatened to do >> um threaten to hurt him. >> Okay. And we I told him the guy to the office. >> Does he want to prosecute? Do you know? Did he mention? >> I don't know. >> We'll talk to him in a second. See what it deals. I'm going to go less leaf. >> See if you see anything? >> Uh, it's pretty. >> Not really. >> No. >> All right. >> Hey, Tony Beach. Full come to the door. >> Step back. Step back. >> See any movement? No, but I I'll be able to see when he crosses the uh >> I see moving anything from that angle. >> Yeah, a little bit. >> Police department, man. Come to the door. >> Yeah, I can see him. >> You can see him? >> Yeah. Come, come over. Open it. >> Open it up. Daytona [ __ ] Police. Let me see your hands right now. Police department, come around. TURN AROUND. FACE AWAY FROM ME. >> Hands up on the back of YOUR HAND. >> HEY, STOP MOVING. TURN AROUND. AWAY FROM ME. I'M GOING TO TASE YOU. TURN AROUND. >> TURN AROUND AND FACE AWAY FROM ME. Do it now. Do it now. >> TURN AROUND. LISTEN TO INSTRUCTIONS. >> All right. On you. >> Don't move. >> You hear me? >> Put your hands on your head. Don't move. Relax. Don't move. >> Okay. Well, you're going to listen to my commands when I'm telling you what to do. >> Taking 110 or code. >> Relax. You got nunchucks and all that. Step back this way. >> Relax. >> I've been in my own place. >> Step back. >> Go ahead. American place. Relax, dude. I'll explain to you what's going on. Turn around. >> Spread your feet. Spread your feet. You're being detained right now. >> Did they come to you and ask you any questions a little while ago? >> Yes. I said, uh, uh, no problem. I'll I'll check out a 10. >> All right. Well, hang tight. We'll get to the bottom of it. Okay. Any guns or knives on you? >> No, my gun is in pawn. >> Okay. Nunchucks. >> There your nunchucks. Okay. You mind if I just check your pocket for any weapons? >> I'm going to pat them down inside the room, but I don't have any paraphernalia or anything like that. >> Fantastic. Here's what I want you to do. Sit right here. Sit right here and I'll explain to you what's going on. >> No. Clear. >> Sit. Sit. The TV. Sit. >> Sit. >> Okay. >> Good boy. >> Okay. >> All right. We're going to read something to you and we're going to go from there. But I'm going to tell you right now. >> I was told you were asked to leave this place and you're destroying the room. >> No, no, no. You They told me to leave at 10:00 tomorrow morning. So, >> hang tight. >> No problem. >> I need somebody to go to the clerk in the front in the wheelchair. There's a guy in a wheelchair in the office. >> Actually, if you want to prosecute my room door. >> All right, >> we may have a assault. So, let's just do that for now. >> The TV is broken. >> It's definitely broken. >> These are really cool people, man. I don't know why you put on me like that. >> Well, thank you for for letting them know. Hang tight. We're not going to go in here searching anything, but we already saw the broken TV. We see the weapon. Um, was there an altercation earlier? Well, the Mohawk man a little more reasonable with the nunchucks down. >> No. >> Yes, >> there was. All right. So, before we go, stop before you. >> I go to war for you. >> All right. >> I'll tell you that. >> Okay. Are you diagnosed with anything? >> Yeah. >> In love with who? >> All right. So, at this point, you're denying any type of altercation with the guy in the wheelchair. >> Okay. You just went over there trying [snorts] >> Okay. Were you swinging the nunchucks when you were talking to him? >> We are live in Daytona where officer Chance Palm has joined Sergeant Mike Bryan on scene in Daytona. This was the man with the Nunchucks who was accused of destroying his room and threatening assault. >> You just decided >> You decided that the TV needed a beating. accidentally broke. Wasn't broke when he first got here. >> Yeah, he admitted that he broke it was broke. It had a crack. >> No, you said that you did break it. >> It was broke when I got here. I just didn't report it. >> What kind of broke? >> So, you broke it? >> It had Hold on. Wait. When I got here, it had a red line that went down the middle. >> Okay. But it wasn't in that shape. Got it. >> But and he said I broke it. [ __ ] can't drinking. And I think I slipped on the water. >> Well, like I said, man, they're checking video. Okay. >> Just a gun with my hand. >> The story that they're getting over there is different from what you're giving. Okay. >> Ironically, >> I would never get >> Ironically, I actually broke it when I ran in there mad. >> Officer Palm, there's crack paraphernia boy pipes. It smells like crack. >> So, when you combine the cocaine usage with the alcohol that's open in there, >> he obviously could have slipped and made it even worse. But >> I fell and went right under the son of the [ __ ] I did not meet a baby. >> Oh, I got >> drones are bad. >> I got a good idea. >> What? >> Why don't you go back to Arkansas? >> I know. >> You know there's a nice You do you live near Hazen? >> You know where Hazen is? >> You know where Hazen is? Great community, man. You might want to go over there. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> How much bus? >> Where's your car? You don't have it anymore, >> man. Look me up, bro. >> You heard it right there. Uh Tom, what did he mean when he said uh Hazen? >> That's in Arkansas where our friend Chief Bradley Taylor belongs and he owns that area. So I'm not so sure that that would be a welcome visit. >> Well, we will keep an eye then on Daytona. We're going to do >> It's nothing personal though. Okay. It's just business. You feel me? >> You feel the uh the van's here if you want to. Okay. >> Son of a [ __ ] >> Me? >> No. No. the same guy. >> I'm not saying I'm offended. >> No, I'm not talking to you. >> Okay. Cuz I've been called worse by better people. I'm just saying. >> My wallet. My money's in my room. >> Okay. >> We'll make sure all your stuff's uh boxed up for you. >> What? >> Just like that. >> So, it's frowned upon people. >> I guess. >> I didn't know that till tonight. >> I seriously want you to add that to your uniform. >> I think we all need them, man. I feel awesome with these nunchucks in my pocket. >> So, at this point, he's going to jail for a assault with a deadly weapon uh for using the or threatening the gentleman in a wheelchair uh who's essentially defenseless in the wheelchair um with the nunchucks. So, he's uh he's going to be going to jail. Um >> our prisoner transport van's here to pick him up. And that's it. Be on to the next call. At least nobody got hurt. Let me ask you this. Everything in that room. >> Oh, just the money. >> My wallet's mine and my backpack. >> Okay. >> Everything else in the backpack. >> Everything Everything in the Everything in the backpack's yours. >> Backpack. >> You said that your money was in the backpack. >> I got my money in my wallet. in my my birth certificate and everything is in my uh >> what you're doing is you talking in circles. >> I want to see you before I say what's I know what's in it. >> You ain't going to jail yet. >> Lord have mercy. >> I feel like this is what happens when you're kicked out of the Cobra Kai dojo. [laughter] Captain Rizzo, it has just been a chaotic night. I got to give the officers credit though. Really keeping their cool. What's it like being in a situation like that? full moon scenarios, right? You just literally you never know what you're going to encounter. But I will tell you if he does decide to visit Hazen with nunchucks, he can knock his beonas off with [laughter] Bradley Taylor right there. >> Night in Daytona Beach, Florida, where Sergeant Mike Bryant was responding to report of a guy trashing a motel room. At first, the man said the TV was already broken when he checked in and apparently changed his story and said he fell into the TV and didn't mean to break it. >> Drones are bad. I got a good idea. >> And then Sergeant Brian, why >> don't you go back to Arkansas? >> Got a suggestion. >> You know there's a nice You do you live near Hazen? >> You know where Hazen is? >> You know where Hazen is. Great community, man. You might want to go over there. >> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> How much bus? >> That was directed to you. U welcome him in Hazen. >> No, we probably put him on a bus and sent him to Florida in the first place. [laughter] Joe's crash parking lot. The male was beating on her car. Pushed her. >> She pushed him and he took off on foot. >> She thinks you're trying to take her vehicle. >> It sounds like an armed robbery. Black male with a gun took a female's purse over on the beach side. So hopefully [music] we can still catch him on foot before he gets to a vehicle. >> Running westbound on Main Street. He just popped out from an RV. They're taking 12. >> Sit down. Sit down. Move your head so I can see it, dude. >> 3X 11. >> All right, stay leaning 11. >> Sorry. My bad. >> 3X 11. >> Can we get fire and evac and route to our location? >> Emergency traffic. >> Yeah. You know, I got I got something to come check out your head. Okay. Are you hurt anywhere but about your head? >> So, obviously I called for evac. Um I'm concerned for his head wound. Uh when he was taken down, he started running from officers, was taken down, hit his head on the pavement. So, we're going to get him medical treatment and make sure that he's okay. >> Okay. So, did he try What happened? >> He pounded on the door and tried to get in. >> He tried to get in. >> Did he Did he make any threats to you? Anything like that? >> No, no, no. All he did was pound it on. He was yelling, but I have no idea what he was saying. Was he trying the car door? Is that why >> Well, he was Yeah. He was pounding on the window and trying the car door. >> And he My dog was barking. >> Poor puppy. What kind of dog? >> She's paraly. She's more scared than we are. >> Oh, she's beautiful, though. In his effort to run. Uh he attempted a carjack a vehicle, but we were able to to stop that. So, he's going to have at least a battery, attempted carjacking, resisting arrest. Uh I have to see what else he's got uh going on as far as any probation, parole, anything like that. And it turns out he might be a suspect in a robbery from a few nights ago.
