Started as a traffic stop for a light violation. The person took off. It's been going up to 125 miles an hour, if not more. There's been four efforts at pit maneuvers. The person driving the wrong direction. This is This is really potentially dangerous. Oh, wait. All right, we got it back. Let's go back. >> TVI. TV. TVI. You understand? >> Okay, good. Sit down on your butt right here. Besides the taser, are you in any kind of pain? >> Your adrenaline, >> your extremities, your legs, you can feel me? >> No, just know what day of the week it is. >> Uh, Sunday. No, Saturday. >> Okay. Okay. Uh, who's president? Not the right one. All right. Just make sure, man. at the house, man. >> So, why' you do that? >> That would be great, man. I would just got to go get my license. Like, they got suspended >> and Oh, they got revoked. >> So, you caught a felony over suspended driver's license. >> Felony here? >> Yeah. >> I didn't know that. >> Welcome to Hazen. >> Well, you're in Hazen, Arkansas right now. >> Arkansas? >> Yeah. Oh, yeah. Roll over on your belly for me. >> Yeah, I lost my flash. >> Just cross your ankles out there. >> Is it? >> Yeah. My phone right back there. >> No. Jerk them out here. >> Ready, set, go. >> Ready, set, go. you through the car, >> Ralphie. Thank you, buddy. >> We just finally got beside him, man. >> We stopped this individual >> driving down interstate with no lights. >> I got some gloves. >> He said he knew what his name was, wouldn't give me ID, so I tried to get him out of the car. >> Yeah, he was driving. >> Asked him two or three times to get out of the car and >> we walked up to his >> at that time. He said >> ask him >> not today. >> Put it in gear and took off. Uh, so we went to pursuit. Uh, I tried to pit him multiple times. He run at vehicles head on. So, he's going to get a whole bunch of aggravated assaults every time. We'll go back and watch video and stuff like that. >> Finally, his car was messing up and I was able to TVI him right here and put him in the trees. >> Foot chase. Clayton shot him with the taser and got him. >> We're about knee deep in mud in there. But >> anyway, >> hey, let's get a name and date of birth on him or he going to give it to you. >> All right, got him. >> Hey, listen. You don't have an ID or anything, >> huh? >> In the car. I'm >> tired. >> No, sir. >> It's in the car. There's ID in that car. He's got it. Cole's got it. Cole's got his ID. Found his >> good deal. Sorry, I didn't. >> I'm breathing like a fat kid in church. Me, too. >> Deep in mud. >> I know. That's what got me that mud real quick. >> I'm hoping the camera, too. What you mean? >> I'm hoping the camera got you. Yeah. >> Thank God. >> That was the stupidest crap I've seen all day. >> Welcome to my life. >> Well, let me tell you something. Welcome to Arkansas. >> Yeah. >> Running from Arkansas law enforcement is a felony in the state of Arkansas. Okay. It's going to subject you to at least 10 years in Arkansas Department of Corrections. Okay? And if you run from us, we're going to chase you and we're going to catch you. You understand that? >> You're going to I'm going to send you to prison. >> Okay? >> All right. I'm going to send you to prison. You understand that? Every vehicle you went at head on is aggravated assault. >> Count those up in your head. >> You ain't worried about your own life. I get it. >> You can tell the chief there is math. I mean, that was some seriously dangerous stuff that this guy uh was doing there. And the fact that he didn't even know that it was a felony. He's like, "Is this a felony?" >> But it but it's not even mad though, right? Like what we were talking about before with the adrenaline highs and lows in the dumps, there's a decompression period that has to happen there now. You know, they're operating at such a high speed, not just driving. And now they got to come down from that. It that in and of itself, how many cars you went head on with? Hold your breath, right? Like we were saying. So, >> and just >> I mean, we're all even just here in studio, right? >> We're not even involved in this thing, just watching this thing. >> Yeah. >> It's like, wow. I mean, >> the the fast speeds, the blind curves, it makes you think that he's running for something more serious than a license when that could have been a traffic ticket, you know, putting lives in danger. >> Yeah. All right. I I think we now have a number of the efforts here where he was trying to use the pit maneuver to get the vehicle. This was the one that was the most surprising that he got away. It was on the grass. was able to get back. That was And then this is number two. And he's at a little bit of a disadvantage here, the Chief, cuz he didn't have one of his faster cars. So, ooh, this >> DVR, DVR, DVR. I mean, yeah, >> but then he's also directing, right? You get the taser. The the the dog is there already. So, he's got everything planned out. Let you know, everything's covered. >> Not planning on the mud. >> Right. Right. Right. >> But, >> all right, let's go back out there. >> I cleaned up and I got >> back on the streets and like now I'm a power technician. I travel everywhere. I mean, you $60 an hour, man. at night. >> Well, that's good. >> It's just the old instinct to run. >> But look, >> yes, you're in trouble. >> But look, it's not forever. You can use this as a building block. >> But if it's this thing, my building block right here, man, I had it. I just had to be dumb and run. >> Yeah. >> Hey, are you good? >> Yeah. You >> are you good going on? You guess. >> But I heard that. >> And my key won't fit those or I'll loosen them. And I will have that for the mall. >> Can you make sure on my phone, bro? I got some stuff in this car that really not trying to lose. Car's not my name. >> Stand by. >> Go and go get gas. >> Yes, sir. >> Help me out with that. Like I know I ran. I'm sorry. >> We'll get color. Take him to jail. I've been working on it. >> Yeah, but you're okay. You're okay. >> And none of the people that you almost killed >> right there. [ __ ] >> Go to Exxon. Harvey's Exon. >> Yeah. But hey, >> nobody's hurt. >> Hey, you going >> besides my pants and my shoes. Look at that. >> Go ahead and go real quick. >> Let me in case I run out. >> What's up, bud? >> How you guys doing? >> Hey, I called my buddy. >> We've seen >> Chief Bradley Taylor be forgiving in a lot of situations. >> He's not going to be one of them. He's getting a break >> on patrol live. Coming right back. You got Verizon service? >> Yes, sir. >> Them, too. But they're Since y'all got here, I told you to take off, go get gas. >> Okay. >> I call I had to call him. >> This is the aftermath of that intense 20 something minute pursuit at speeds of over 125 mph. Four efforts at pit maneuvers in Hazen, Arkansas. >> They got them >> where four agencies pulled up on one pursuit. That's the advantage of a small town and everybody working together. We He didn't know it, but he ran into a nest of police officers. We had state police and Desart and County and Hazen. Everybody showed up and we kept him into getting into the populated area. So, it really worked out good. Nobody got hurt. 833. >> We'll be 1098. >> And it is incredibly lucky that no one got hurt considering what we just witnessed here. All right. Now, the the update you've all been waiting for, right, Hazen? Chief Bradley Taylor, we were nervous watching here and yet you seemed calm as a cucumber. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. That's just handling everyday business, Dan. >> That's everyday business, huh? >> All right. >> Yes, sir. >> It took at least six pits before you stopped him. Talk to us about that. >> Well, it's it really didn't take that many. It was just we were I was trying to if you pay attention to it when he took the off round at Bisco. I knew if he turned right it was going to be a populated area and I tried to keep him from going right or getting back on that interstate. So I bumped him at the end and then when he went across the overpass I knew I had to keep him off the interstate because there was a lot of cars there. So, I just started bumping him and pressuring him past the on ramp to get him to go north because I knew Highway 33 was going to be real curvy. And uh I didn't really think he would drive as good as he did, but he put me to my test. So, uh and then once I got up there, I knew some boys, a younger officer was up north with some spikes and I didn't feel like he had real good hard cover. So, I knew I had two curves to take him out and I had one more after the one I took him out on. So, that's why I took him out when I did. >> So, I shouldn't have called it a pit. I should have called it more of like a love tap that you were giving him until you were able to finally get him uh >> get him over. >> It It's been known as the hazing bump is kind of some of our other instructors call it. >> Now, the amazing thing is you actually had a premonition that he was going to run. Here is the moment you see the car passing you. >> That he's going to run. No, ain't. >> How did you know that? when he come by, it was just like a gut reaction. I was like, "Oh, this one's going to run." And then he kind of bobbed and weaved just a little bit right before he he we finally pulled over. And uh if you listen to the inside of the car some we're we're sitting there giggling and Clayton's messing with me saying, "Oh, you thought he was going to run." But he did eventually.
