On April 1st, 2025, officers were
dispatched to a residence in response to
a reported domestic incident.
>> Okay. Which uh which door is it?
>> Upstairs. 2B. So, it's the one with the
no wreath on it.
>> Okay. He's okay.
>> Yeah, he's fine. It's me that I'm out of
control.
>> What happened?
>> He invites people over like he runs the
house and we got into it. I pushed him.
I kicked him. I beat the [ __ ] out of
him. He's probably looking worse than
me. That's what I'm saying. Just put me
in cuffs and just take me cuz I'm tired.
I'm soing tired.
>> What happened to [clears throat] your
eye?
>> My brother.
>> Okay. Are you having any pain right
there with your eye?
>> No. Just Just take me already.
>> Okay. How do I get How do I get up?
Which door is it?
>> This door and go straight up.
>> This one?
>> Yeah. Just take me already. Okay.
>> I'm tired. I have court in like 3 days.
Just take me.
>> Hey, are you mom?
>> Okay, perfect. Just take me.
>> Okay. I'm going to talk to mom.
>> She's going to say take her to the
hospital. Like no, I'm not going to the
hospital. If I'm going anywhere, I'm
going to jail. I just can't do it
anymore.
>> Okay. Hey, is that is this brother?
>> No.
>> Okay. Is he involved at all?
>> Yeah, he is. But he's No, he's not.
>> Well,
>> go ahead and take me down.
>> All right. Well, my partner's going to
go talk to your brother.
>> He's He looks a lot of worse than me.
>> Can you take me upstairs with you?
>> Yeah. So,
>> all right. Well,
>> is this an ongoing issue? I've never
been here before. Twice.
>> Okay.
>> It's the other officer that was here
last.
>> Okay.
>> Okay.
Daniel, where'd you go? All right. Then,
maybe while he's taking a second to cool
down, can you tell me what happened?
[sighs and gasps]
>> I had such a mind. He was begging me for
his friend to come over. a 29y old.
>> So I said, "All right."
>> Yeah.
>> So his friend has a father
>> and his father likes me
>> the message like this.
>> I don't want to talk to anybody at all.
Like I just want to be left alone.
>> I don't even know what I do with it.
>> Okay. Is that
>> Anyway, I said something about sex.
>> Okay.
I told this man, I don't want a
relationship with you. I'll be your
friend, but that's it. So, that's how it
all started.
He told my my daughter and her boyfriend
have been out most of the day. So,
[sighs and gasps] when
>> uh he said, "Well, Kevin's coming." And
she's like, "No." Mom said no. And she's
like, "Mom, don't make, you know, don't
let him talk you into letting him over.
You feel very uncomfortable." Well, he
said it was a mistake that he wants sex
with me.
>> I really have a headache. The guy stays
like too long. I have to get up at 6:30
in the morning. I said, "I'm just going
to call him and tell him we'll make it
another day."
>> No, no, no. You can't do that to me. I'm
going to call the police on you. I said,
"For not letting your friend come over,
he's um [sighs]
>> chronic chronologically delayed."
>> Probably about 13.
>> So, what does a normal 13-year-old do to
their siblings? Try to bully him.
>> Sure.
>> So, I think he was trying to act cool in
front of his girlfriend on the phone.
So, he was she was in her room and he's
yelling and screaming, "You're
Yeah.
>> So, she got up and she's like, "Daniel,
you know, mom doesn't want
John, that's his name, over here." And
he goes, "She, we already discussed it
and he's coming anyways."
>> Hey, Daniel.
>> Jesus Christ, man.
>> You want to talk?
>> No, I don't.
>> Okay. Are you hurt?
>> Yeah, I'm hurt.
>> Okay. Where at? Can I take a look at it?
>> Yeah, sure.
>> Okay. I don't want to blind you. Go
ahead.
>> No, you're good. No, you're good. You're
good.
>> All right. Give me like on a scale of 1
to 10 how badly that's hurting you.
>> Uh, it doesn't I mean, I'm a guy, you
know, so it doesn't really hurt.
>> Um, yeah. She was on top of me beating
the [ __ ] out of me. And yes, I swung on
her to get her off me.
>> Yeah.
>> That's all I did.
>> I think any reasonable person.
>> And my mom's like, "Well, you're going
to go to jail, too, cuz you put her hand
your hands on her." I said, "No, I
didn't. I She was by my door. I was
trying to shut my door. She pushed my
door open. Clearly, I can show you over
here. There's broken glass. She broke my
girlfriend's heat lamp."
>> Okay. Um, I want her taken away.
>> Okay. So, just so that way I make sure I
have everything correctly. You guys got
into like a you and your sister got into
a verbal argument. Verbal
>> verbal at first and then I tried to go
in my room. I'm like, "Leave me alone.
I'm shutting my door." Pushes my door
open, slams it open, then knocks the
lamp over. I told her to get away from
my doorway. I'm standing in the like by
my doorway and she just boom.
>> Okay.
>> Full force to the face.
>> Was it open hand or was it closed hand?
>> Open. The first one was open and then
when I sat on the couch, all of it
hopped on top. All closed fist.
>> Why are you kept telling?
>> Hold on. Hold on. Yeah, let's let's do
one one at a time.
>> You're not helping.
>> So, did this Did that happen here on
this case?
>> Yes.
>> And my mom did nothing.
>> Okay. So, it began. You told her to All
she did. All she did was tell her to
stop and I said, "That's not enough."
>> Okay. How long would you say it went on
for?
>> A good 5 minutes. Her boyfriend tried
pulling her off for me and that didn't
work. I tried getting up. He be like,
"Dan, get up. Dan, get I can't."
>> Okay.
>> I physically could not get up and so
yeah, I swung because she kept swinging
at my face. So, what was I supposed to
do? Let her hit me? No.
>> Yeah.
>> Yes, I understand. I put my hands on
her, but it was in self-defense.
>> Yeah. I'm not I'm not disagreeing with
that at all.
>> Most Well, the other cops that were here
disagreed with it. They said because I'm
a man that it's wrong for me to put
hands on her even if I'm doing it in
self-defense. So,
>> where else are you hurt?
>> My face right here.
>> I can see some more scratches. Like I
don't want to blind.
He was scratched before. Just
>> No, I wasn't. Not on the face. Not on
the face, though.
>> Okay.
>> That was from Dana.
>> Okay. Are you hurt anywhere else? Was it
just your face?
>> Just my face mostly took most of the
beating.
>> Okay. Do you have your ID?
>> I do. It's in my room. Can I go get it?
>> Yes.
He needs to be either a put in a mental
institution or or arrested.
>> How old is he?
>> I have to deal with
>> they're 29. Both of them.
>> Oh, they're twins. Okay.
>> I understand you tried doing stuff, Mom,
but that wasn't enough.
>> She's going to beat the per wrong person
up one day and I told you she's going to
end up not not because of me saying that
because I want her. No, it's because
it's the truth. She'll end. What if she
gets into a fight out on the street?
Mom, what are you going to do then?
You're not going to be there. You can't
protect her always. Can you call an
ambulance, please?
>> I'm good.
>> No, not for you.
>> Oh,
>> there's one coming down to check them
out.
>> Yes.
>> Yeah. For Alfredo.
>> I'm going to insist they take her for an
evaluation.
>> Mom, is Alfredo okay?
>> Did she have cars? Do you know?
>> My her boyfriend and also my friend.
>> Okay. Um I'm not sure if she had car
keys, but there is an ambulance coming
down to talk. I'm going to go talk to
them.
>> Is Alfredo okay, Mom? Is he okay?
>> As far as I know, he
>> Okay, so perfect timing. Oh,
>> is the ambulance out there?
>> Uh, they should be here shortly.
>> Okay. Because I want to go down there
and I want her.
>> Okay. Then we're going to have to call a
second one for that cuz they're going to
they have to check out the boyfriend
right now for the breathing.
>> Oh, okay.
>> I was wondering if he was okay
>> cuz he was like wobbling on the wall.
>> Um, I guess he got diagnosed with
pneumonia. So, I think
>> Okay. I just kind of
>> I just wanted to make sure he was okay
cuz I was worried.
>> Yeah.
>> Okay. So, from what I understand, this
is like an ongoing issue.
>> Yeah. I keep
>> You're okay with us?
>> Yeah, I'm good. Thank you. Calm. Thank
you. What are some how how can we help
you? You know, because it's one thing,
you know, if we if we do take her to
jail and she goes to jail, she's going
to come right back.
>> I know. And I know the situation. Yeah,
I get it. You know, I understand. But I
want her to know that it's not good to
put hands on people.
>> I Yeah. No, I agree with that. Um
>> cuz I was trying to distance myself from
it. I'm like, "Okay, she's yelling and
screaming at me, coming at me." I'm
like, "Okay, I'm going to my room. Screw
this." And I got on the phone with my
girlfriend to talk to my girlfriend. And
I guess she must have overheard me
saying that, you know, oh well, my mom
didn't want my dad's my mom's my my
friend's dad over. It was a
misunderstood text. You know, like how
your speaker goes off on your phone and
it picks up stuff around the room.
>> Well, my buddy has a sick sense of humor
and he likes to talk dirty a lot when
he's online,
>> like playing COD and stuff. And it must
have picked that up.
>> Okay.
>> And that's why she didn't want him over
here. But my me and my mom had already
had a conversation before she even got
home that he was going to come over.
Both of them were allowed over and I
would just have to stay out in the
living room. Like I don't care. Okay,
cool. You know, no problem. No biggie.
And then she comes in, gives me an
attitude. I'm like whatever. I said,
Dana, you don't run this house. If I
want somebody to come over, they're
coming over. Like it's like
>> unless they have a restraining of order
against them or something like that,
they're allowed over here. And like I
told her before and I said calmly to
her. I was like me and my me and mom had
a conversation beforehand,
>> right?
>> You know, I'm like
whatever. You know, I don't.
>> So, the biggest thing for us, right, is
we want to make sure that everybody's
going to be safe. So, are you do you
guys both live here full time or are you
just hanging out? Okay. You both live
here?
>> I live here full-time. She lives here
full time. Yeah.
>> Okay. Do you guys work at all?
>> I used to. I got laid off because of my
shoulder injury.
>> Gotcha. Okay.
>> Yeah. I used to work at Fairplay on
111th. So,
>> okay. Um, does Zana work at all?
>> No.
>> Okay. I know you mentioned it before
about, you know, you wanting her to go
to jail and stuff like that and is that
something that
>> I wish she could. I mean, I really do
because, you know, she's like I told my
mom, she's going to put her hands on the
wrong person one day and she's going to
end up. I said she's lucky that I'm her
brother because I could have really hurt
her. Do you do you feel like her going
to her going to jail is going to be a a
better option to solve the problem or do
you think her being seen by a medical
professional?
>> You know, she has so many psych issues.
They've already done what they can do.
>> Jail needs to I'm sorry. Jail is the
only option for her.
>> Is this similar? So, I know she's going
to court Thursday. Is this
>> No, this is for a separate issue. This
is for um a domestic or an assault
actually against my buddy's friend.
>> Okay. I was explaining to her that um my
dad my mom my my friend and his dad were
going to come over to hang out.
>> My um friend's dad accidentally sent
like a text like it was like it was a
text. Hey, I'm going to come over and
I'm going to come over and we'll have
chicken and d like a normal text. And
then he said I want to have sex with
you. I'm like what? My mom's like Dan
come in here for a minute. I'm like
okay. So I come into her room. She read
that.
>> Yeah.
>> Oh. And I'm like, so I called him today,
his dad today, just to like clear it up.
I wanted to know what happened. He's
like, "Yeah, no, that was not I did not
mean to text that at all." He's like, "I
like your mom, but not that much." You
know what I mean? He's like, "I'm so
sorry." I said, "Dude, no worries. It
happens all the time." I said,
"Sometimes my phone picks up [ __ ] and it
just texts it, you know, not even in
your pocket, like on the mic, you know,
the mic purposely comes on and shit."
Yeah. So, I was just like, "Oh, that's
probably what happened." And my friend
my friend likes to talk dirty over the
mic in Call of Duty. So
>> yeah, that will happen.
>> I'm the same way too. But you know, like
I didn't want any confrontation at all.
Like
>> they were going to come over. We were
going to hang that. That was it.
>> So did she
>> she struck me first?
>> Yes.
>> On your face?
>> Yeah.
>> Right there.
>> Bleeding.
>> Scratches here.
>> Okay.
>> Did you get a chance to talk to her?
>> No. Uh Ji, so
>> Okay, cool. I'm going to go uh talk to
him. You got
>> I'll be back. Excuse me, Mom.
>> I'm ready.
>> I just want to talk to you about what
she said. What happened?
>> Well, my mom's trying to make me go to
the hospital and I'm not going to go
because they're just going to my
medicine up even more than it already
is.
>> What happened with Daniel?
>> I beat him up.
>> Can you tell me the story?
>> My mom doesn't like this my friend's
dad. Okay. And what happened was I got
home and my brother's like, "Oh, Kevin
and Kevin's dad are coming." And I said,
"No, mom said she didn't want Kevin's
dad over because he sent her a nasty
text message." So then my brother's
like, "Well, you don't run shit." And it
went off from there. And then I just
went off on him. Like I started punching
his face and pulling his hair and
kicking him. And I'm not going to lie to
y'all. I
>> Yeah.
>> Beat him up. He pissed me off.
>> Her boyfriend said that uh her brother
was egging him on,
>> but she didn't start.
>> I started. You good with it? He wants to
pursue.
>> What's that?
>> All right. Are you good with it? He
wants to pursue.
>> Yeah, he wants to.
>> Okay. All right. I'm just going to go
double check with him. Okay, then. Mom,
she's going to go with us.
>> I want her to go to the hospital first.
>> I understand. But she's 29 and
>> No, I'm a guardian. So, I'm going to
show you my paperwork.
>> You're her legal guardian?
>> Yes, I am.
>> That's why I want her to go to the
hospital and get evaluated.
>> Okay. Because if she starts banging her
head on those um bars, I don't want her
to have head trauma like she's done in
the past.
>> Okay. Is she on any medications?
>> Yes. A whole bunch.
>> Does she take you want me to bring them?
>> Um let me just see him real quick. Um
they're all
>> Yeah. Grab the face for me and then
Yeah.
>> Well, you have two you have two avenues.
>> Right.
>> Okay. They are not mutually exclusive.
>> Two things can happen at the same time.
If she needs to be arrested for the
domestic violence, then she needs to be
arrested
>> and [clears throat] mom can arrange a
psyche vow through a writ or through
some another means. Okay.
>> Okay.
>> Or she goes for the psyche val when
she's released, she gets arrested for
the domestic battery.
>> Okay.
>> These are the two avenues that can
happen.
>> Okay.
>> Simply because mom wants something
doesn't mean mom gets it.
>> Even though she's guardian,
>> we have but we're running this call
here.
>> Okay. We're just making sure. So, you
decide which is the better avenue.
Frankly, I understand she wants what she
wants.
>> Yeah.
>> She could have called an hour ago.
>> Mhm.
>> You see what I'm saying?
>> Mhm.
>> Right now, we have do we have a criminal
act? Are we making that arrest? Where
does the mental health evaluation fit
in?
>> So, whichever route you go, you're not
really you're not wrong.
>> Yeah.
>> But just cuz mom wants something doesn't
mean mom gets it. We determine how that
how the flow goes.
>> Okay. She's going to go with us right
now. And then when she gets released,
then you can go to the state's attorney
and talk to them about getting a writ
for her psyche val.
>> The state's attorney?
>> The state's attorney?
>> Where is that at?
>> At the courthouse. You can go to
Bridgeview Courthouse.
>> They're not going to be open by the time
I get there.
>> Well, she's not going to be released
tonight.
>> What What happens if she bangs her head
on the on the
>> on the bars?
>> So, are you saying you don't want to
press charges against her?
>> Just take her to the hospital. That's
what I'm saying. Don't press charges.
Just take her to the hospital. Do what
my mom wants.
>> I think she needs an evaluation. No,
just take her there.
>> Okay. You do understand like if she gets
released from the hospital and comes
back here, we can't prevent anything
further from happening.
>> I'll leave.
>> Are you willing to sign like complaint a
complaint refusal form saying that we
that you don't want to press charges on
her?
>> Yep.
>> No, he doesn't want to press charges.
>> Now he doesn't want to press charges and
she just wants to go to the hospital.
>> 1473.
>> Okay. Well, that's up to you. I mean, if
you again, we can sign on behalf.
Whatever you Whatever you want to do.
>> Yeah. So, she's guardian. single person.
I I don't exactly know how this fits
into
>> Yeah. Be careful.
>> I decide whatever you're going to
decide.
>> Okay. Then she's going with us.
>> She's going to go with us
>> to
>> the police station.
>> Why?
>> Dana.
>> Hey, Dana. Turn around.
>> Do you need to take anything with you?
>> No. Okay.
>> I have your phone.
It's like angle to the side a little
bit.
>> Thank you for your help.
>> Thank you for your help. The woman was
charged with domestic
