Everybody knows helping family [music] can get complicated because at first nobody comes in acting like a problem. They come in humble, [music] one bag, and a sad story that makes you feel bad for even thinking about saying no. They come in with that reverse [music] psychology talking about, "I just need somewhere to stay for the weekend. I don't want my problems to [music] be a burden to you. I'm just going to get me a cheap room somewhere. Or I'll sleep in my car. Don't even worry about me. I'll be back [music] on my feet in no time." And then she pauses because they're waiting on [music] the magic words. They're waiting on your sympathy to kick in. They're waiting on [music] you to say, "Girl, you're family. I ain't going to let you sleep in your car." And just like that, it worked. She never had any real intention of [music] sleeping in that car. That car has no gas, one donut tire, and the check [music] engine light has been on since Easter. The plan was never the car. The plan was [music] your couch. So because it's family, you let her in. And that's how it starts, just the weekend. The first night, [music] she's real respectful, asking before she touches anything, folding the blanket in the morning nice and neat, but then Monday comes, she's still there. Friday comes [music] back around, she's still there. Now the weekend has turned into a week. >> [music] >> The week turns into a month, and somehow one month turns into six. Now she ain't staying [music] with you anymore. She lives there, and you don't want to be mean because it's family. So you keep giving [music] grace. You keep telling yourself she just needs a little more time. But then the couch [music] situation starts changing. At first, it was just a blanket. Then an air mattress [music] shows up. Then the air mattress gets sheets. Then the sheets get a comforter. Then the comforter [music] gets throw pillows. Now she has a whole bedroom set up right in the living room. A laundry basket [music] appears beside it. Now the living room don't feel like the living room anymore. It feels like somebody rented a studio apartment [music] inside your apartment. Then the mail starts coming. That's when you really start [music] looking sideways because once somebody starts getting mail at your house, the situation [music] has officially changed. Amazon comes. The first package has your name on it. The second package has her name >> [music] >> but your address. Then she starts getting comfortable in new ways. She knows which remote [music] controls the TV and which remote don't do nothing. She knows where the extra towels are. Then she invites a friend over. Then the friend comes [music] back again. Now the friend knows where the cups are and once a guest knows where the cups are, it's time [music] for somebody to move because it's one thing for me to help you. It's another thing for you to start helping [music] other people at my house. So now you start dropping hints. Hey, did that apartment ever call you back? You still looking at places? [music] You ever hear from that job yet? You need me to send you that Zillow [music] link again? You want me to take you to the leasing office because I can take you. You sure? It's no problem. And every time she has an answer. Oh yeah, I'm waiting on them to call back. Oh yeah, I'm about to call them. Yeah, I got something lined up. But nothing ever lines up except more shoes [music] by your front door. So you try not to say anything but eventually the [music] hints stop working. Now you have to have the real conversation. The uncomfortable [music] one. The one where you walk around the house fake cleaning first, wiping counters that are already clean, building up courage. [music] Then finally you say, "Look, we got to talk, god damn it." And once you [music] say that, the energy changes immediately because the person staying there knows what conversation is coming. They don't need you to finish the sentence. [music] They just don't want to hear it. Now she's mad, walking with an attitude, cabinets [music] closing harder, doors getting shut with extra emotion, trash bags coming out, clothes getting thrown in piles, and then comes the [music] indirect talking. She's walking through the house talking loud on the phone, but really talking to you. I don't know why people act funny when you're down. I don't know why people switch [music] up. I don't know why folks offer help, then throw it in your face. People are fake as [ __ ] I don't need nothing [music] from nobody. Keep that phony [ __ ] away from around me. And you're in the other room trying to act [music] mature, but your eye is already twitching. Then you've had enough. Who are you talking to? And here she goes. Did I say your name? But if the shoe fits, lace them [music] [ __ ] up. And that's when somebody says the sentence that starts every family crash [music] out. [ __ ] if you got something to say, I'm right here. Now everything stops. The whole house gets quiet. >> [music] >> Even the refrigerator sounds loud. The trash bag full of clothes is sitting by the door. And then she gets [music] petty. Now she's in the refrigerator repossessing groceries. Oh, you thought y'all were going to [music] eat what I bought? Not on my EBT card. Eggs, ground beef, chicken thighs, pizza rolls, >> [music] >> honey buns, Hawaiian Punch, deli meat, shredded cheese, all going in the trash bag. She don't care if it's open. Talking about, "You ain't [music] making no sandwiches on my government benefits. Enjoy that dry bread, boo." And what was supposed to be a simple move [music] out turns into a whole family crash out in the living room. You get the picture. I say all that to bring you into tonight's story involving [music] two sisters, a mama, and a niece who stuck her snotty nose in grown folks' business on January [music] 29th, 2021. Atlanta Police Officer Jermaine Coleman was dispatched to a dispute at an apartment complex in Southwest Atlanta. According to the official [music] report, Ms. Tanera Carthan was doing exactly what we just talked about. She let her sister, Lorene Evans, stay at her apartment for the past few months. But guess what? Lorene overstayed [music] her welcome and was asked to leave. Lorraine was upset, but agreed to go, packing [music] her items the day before and causing a whole scene while doing it. She couldn't get all her stuff, so she came back the [music] next day on the 29th to retrieve the rest of her belongings. While she was there, Lorraine began to cause a scene [music] once more. And she brought backup, her daughter, Tisha. Lorraine and Tisha got right into Nara's [music] face and began to push her, turning things completely physical. A tussle ensued. And folks, it gets dark. Both suspects began to punch Tanara in the stomach. She was 3 months pregnant [music] at the time. Their mama, Harriet Carthen, tried to jump in and break the fight up, but both suspects began to hit her as well. Now, that's all we need to know for now. Let's see what Atlanta police walked into. Body cam on. >> What's up? That's cool. Good, how are you? >> My bad, too. How are you? >> Yeah, yeah. >> Okay, I have been trying to call y'all for like 30 minutes straight, but somehow my phone >> Yeah. >> My I paid my brother I paid my brother $20. I told him yesterday to bring my sister get her stuff. I was nice enough to let my sister and her kids stay here, you know, during the pandemic. >> Yeah. >> She been here a whole like 6 months or so, but she been very, you know, destructive and all that. So, today they came and their stuff. I had all her stuff packed up right here. She was just going around picking, you know, nitpicking. And I thought why she didn't have to mess with nothing else up here. I've been here a year and like 6 months or so. And I didn't want them to come here and stay, but I just was trying to be a family member and help her and stuff and whatever. So I took all these pregnancy tests and I had found out I was pregnant with her. >> Oh, congrats. >> And she had Thank you. This is my first baby at 32. >> Oh, nice. >> So she was When as she was getting her stuff I I was telling her cuz she kept telling her daughter to go around and um see what else they got. I said, "You don't have anything else. Everything right here." I put it right here because I didn't want the confusion to keep on starting, you know, want to keep messing with stuff. So as they were getting their stuff, she was fighting me, putting her hand on me, and I told her yesterday I was going to call the police, but I didn't, but today I called because I'm sick of it. >> It's okay. It's okay. >> Her and her daughter Her daughter's 17 years old and I think she's almost 40. They just say "No." Because if you would have came before, I was going to have her going to jail. >> We just got the call. I came here as soon as I got the call. >> Yeah, because my phone kept on picking up other other stuff. >> Oh. >> Y'all wouldn't pick up. >> And my mom kept breaking it up. She would went They were pushing on my momma and me. >> And I'm telling you too, but I had this this right >> No, you're fine. Yeah, you're >> I had this because the police said >> And my momma's bleeding because I think she threw something out my window and tried to hit her with it. >> Yeah. >> And I told her this is the last time that you're going to do this. >> Yep. >> You think you ain't got nothing out You really don't have anything. And I'm not a bad person. But I I've been letting them stay here and stay here and I'm really tired of it. >> Okay. Do you got their first licenses on them? >> Yep. >> Cool. Let's get it rocking and rolling. That's your ID, right? >> Yeah. >> Okay, let me see the scratches and bruises. >> And my momma got scratches. >> Is that Is that on her face on your face right there? >> My whole freaking right here is messed up in the middle and right there. >> Oh, okay. >> Where she hit me. >> Okay. You want to You want to see her ID, too? >> Mhm. Yes, sir. Here's her ID. >> You got the scratches and bruises on your arms and stuff? >> I don't think so, but they were pushing and shoving on me I think I got one right here. Just like a little bruise or whatever, but I don't know, it might be somewhere something else. >> And what else was she doing? >> You know, just every time my brother was trying to tell her to stop and He gone. >> Okay. >> And he was trying to tell her to stop and I asked him, I said, "When you bring them over here, just let them stand at the door and you get stuff." But I thought it was going to go okay, but it didn't go okay. Um, she was just very disruptive and I was like, you know, I kept trying to call the police, but I couldn't because I was trying to, you know, stop all the commotion. But I'm tired. I'm tired. >> That's not her first time. She did that yesterday. >> Yeah, she did yesterday. She was very violent yesterday. And I was and I was hoping, you know, nothing did happen, but I was like, "Please just leave. Just please leave. Leave. Leave." And then my niece was grabbing on my mama yesterday because my mama was trying to stop my sister from swinging on me. And my niece was grabbing on her and my niece my mom my sister like, "She got scratches on her." But my mom was trying to tell her to leave her alone. Like, "Stop pulling on her." And stuff like that. But oh, they just >> You got more scratches on your shirt? >> I don't know. Like she is expecting. >> Yeah. >> And she and she told her yesterday she wants the baby to die. So I don't know. I was just trying to get She was spitting on me and I told them, "I'm going to call the police and have a case on you because >> Yeah. >> yesterday it got out of hand and today it got out of hand. I paid my brother $20. I didn't even have to pay him $20, but I did it because he had to use his vehicle to bring her to get her stuff. And she was throwing stuff all over the place. We just got through cleaning stuff up. She was throwing stuff all over the place. Very disruptive. It's just I'm just trying >> So let me get the story straight. So basically, she come here to get her her stuff. Y'all start >> Yeah, cuz yesterday she took like three bags. She took like four bags. >> Yeah. >> And she don't really don't have nowhere to stay. She just hopping from everybody house, being disruptive, starting stuff in everybody house. She was at my sister's house with the same old thing. Then I let her come here and stay. It really [ __ ] me and her kids, but I was out of town and my mom felt so bad for them. My mom said they could come here and stay. When I got here, I was like, you know what I'm saying? I couldn't do nothing cuz they was already here. But my mom said cuz my sister had put them out and my sister was fed up with it. And I see what she doing here. She stayed here a whole year for me to figure out how she work, you know what I'm saying? I was just trying to be nice to them. >> Right. >> But in this pandemic, it's COVID going on. And so and you acting like there was somebody helping you. She called me all kind of [ __ ] hoes, everything. >> She said she punched you in your stomach and >> Yeah, she was pushing on me hard, daughter. You know what I'm saying? When she was in the closet, she was putting her finger in my face. Then she had that little sword thing I threw away. She had this sword thing trying to hit me with it. She had a They just had love. If you would have if I was You know how the 911 people put you on hold? So it's like really confusing cuz I had the hold for a minute before I could get an officer. But it was just like, oh my >> So you want to do it for destruction, right? >> Yeah, I do. >> Okay, what's her uh her name? >> Lorraine Lavette Harris. She might have a warrant now. I just got to keep keep I told her I'm not I'm not playing with her. Cuz I'm not I I've been nice to you for a whole year and you want to get me put out and disturb the peace, you know, coming out here. She took her panties down, showed me her butt, all kinds of stuff outside. Just little water bottles. >> Yeah. >> You know, it just it's crazy. >> She did that to him yesterday. She opened up her behind in front of him. You can't tell her nothing. >> Really? >> Yeah, and that's nasty and low. >> Okay, so >> And she talking about she don't give a [ __ ] how I feel or me. The officer told me it was going to be 45 minutes for a police came. This is what they told me yesterday. Because of it's not too much of a mercy. But I told them I need a police officer. She was off the chain just then and I was hoping that it wouldn't get broken in. >> Right. So what's what's her name again? >> Lorraine >> Can you write that down for me? And I need her date of birth, too. >> Um >> So what is your hitting you or was her daughter hitting you too? >> Her daughter too. Her daughter first time she hit me and then I told you going to jail too. You going to see what jail look like this time. Her daughter is just supposed to Lorraine Oh man. Exactly. But I've been here we've been here helping her and her children. You know what I'm saying? Taking care of her daughter. Every time somebody say to her kids make sure y'all clean up or you know you know you how you teach kids. She get offended. She always get offended and want to jump up and smack faces stuff. Like some I think she mentally need help. Like she on drugs or something else. Oh no. Yeah she all time smoking weed. It's not good if she smoking Tell me she grown. SHE AIN'T [ __ ] GROWN. RIGHT. RIGHT. How about Taisha right and Lorraine? How about their age? December And Taisha birthday is May 15th. And then my name I got it I got it I got it. All right. I've been saying to you to get What's your phone number for you? Uh 421-4 421-4 My mom hold on hold on. I was saying you can use the same number. All right. Give me one second I'll be right back all right. Okay I'll meet you there. I said no I'm going to stay right here. Get back now. You know what I'm saying? It's 565 Next I told them yesterday I was going to call the police. Yes. She kept saying [ __ ] the police all these men. I said okay. >> And today I told my brother to come get his stuff. He told me we started. How we started when you called and woke me up out my sleep and you said you was at my door for them to get their stuff. How am I starting something when I'm paying you $20 to bring them get their stuff? I don't got to pay you $20 to bring their stuff, but I did it because out of respect because it's your vehicle. >> Right. >> So, I gave him $20. He told me we started. We ain't starting nothing. I let her get her stuff. I sit over here out my proof. As you can see, I was eating my food. >> Yeah. >> And her daughter she kept nitpicking. She kept telling her daughter to come over here and get the stuff out my cabinet as if she bought it. I'm like, "It's nothing in here you bought. All this stuff I bought. You didn't buy nothing. You got your own food stamps. You didn't buy anything in here. You didn't buy me nothing." She didn't give me no money for staying here or nothing like that. She bought food, but this is not the food she bought. Not with the food stamps. >> All right. Let me Let me just raise a sergeant and investigator. I'm going to tell my story and then take it from there, okay? >> Okay. >> Give me 1 second. >> So, I told her she wanted to leave. I'm tired of this. She think she told my daughter I don't want to go over there. Are you realizing that I have a gun? >> Yeah, I'm good right here. Appreciate it, too. Uh could you raise a supervisor and CID to the scene, please? >> And then she said she was throwing stuff. So, my momma did like a momma and got her belt and was like finna whoop whoop her. >> All right. You better stop. >> All right. Hold on. Sorry, CID. You up? I'm here with Ms. Tanera uh Carthan. She's the um occupant of this apartment complex. She's here with her mother, her sister, Ms. Lauren Evans, um who's currently like in the midst of moving out. Uh you guys basically came and got some belongings. They went back and forth bickering, but nothing got physical. However, um on today, it got physical. So, essentially, she came here, uh Ms. Lauren Evans, which is the victim's sister, came here to come get the rest of her belongings, um and she was antagonizing uh Ms. Tanera. Uh she began to hit her. Uh Ms. Tanera is also pregnant. Uh Ms. Tanera said that she was beginning to uh hit her. She has a a few scratches on her arms, and she also said that her sister was punching her in her stomach as well. She also said her daughter, um the suspect's daughter, was also hitting her as well. Um the mom um finger was bleeding cuz she tried to um break up the fight. And they uh hit the mom, too, so and her finger was bleeding, so I got that on body camera. So, I was advising y'all. I got uh both of their names, date of birth. No, so the two suspects, the daughter and the mom, they had just left prior to my arrival. The victim and her mother are still on scene. Like I said, uh the victim who called, she had a few scratches on her arms, and the mom had uh her finger was bleeding just a little bit. Like I said, they both said that she was pregnant and she was they were punching her in her stomach, too. [ __ ] I'm going to get them on the route. How many weeks are you pregnant, ma'am? >> I think I'm um 9 weeks pregnant. >> She's saying uh 3 months. >> [cheering] >> Hey, from uh both of them are officers. >> Okay, copy that. I will be listening to both of their statements and uh um Yeah, make sure you get them all out of there. >> I don't have them. >> I got four of them. >> Okay. >> I copy that. So, you write up his battery? There you go. I'm saying, sir, write up his battery or what? Hey, you can copy me in the morning, sir. Um >> I'm saying. I don't want to fight anymore. You want to Did you want to be drawing like your mama? You going to jail like your mama. And they kept throwing up signs. Gang signs and everything at us. >> Okay. >> See, I was helping helping my mama and her like it's >> Copy that, sir. It's just she got some scratches on her arms and then the the mom had um She was trying to break the fight up and I guess in the midst of her trying to break it up they started jumping on her. She got a little cut. She's bleeding a little bit on her hand. No, no, they they They are related and they were living together. However, the sister was removing her things cuz the the um it was time for her to leave, you know? And she overstayed her welcome. She stayed here for like a couple months. No, they're home Well, they're home You said they're homeless, right? Right? Or >> And they're homeless. >> Yeah, they're homeless. They're homeless, yeah. >> They keep going to people's house. They dirty people's house. >> Yeah, they did. >> They don't want to live here. Y'all disrupting us. This is too much for me. So, I guess she always want her man to come stay with her. And they keep you somewhere to stay. You want your kids to come stay, too. >> Yep. Yep. All right, so I'm going to get I'm going to get her out of here, then. Uh All right, appreciate it, sir. They're both sisters. The victim basically told her sister she had to, you know, go ahead and get cuz she had overstayed her welcome. She was just being unruly. The sister didn't have a problem with leaving, but I guess things changed. She I guess was, you know, packing her things, but then she began to act irate. This was yesterday. No altercation ensued yesterday. However, when she came back today to pack up the rest of her things she was still talking junk and talking mess and it got physical. Her and her daughter got into her sister's face, the victim's face, and I guess they pushed her and they started punching her in her stomach. They knew she was pregnant. She had superficial wounds like scratches on her arms. Her mom tried to break it up. And she um got a scratch on her hand as well. It was bleeding a little bit. Once again, superficial as well. Um I raised CID. I raised supervisor. They both copied. They told me to make sure, you know, Grady text her out just in case, you know, for liability purposes. But I raised radio for Grady several times and Grady, I guess, just kept putting it back in the pending, so I just been staying by. >> No, um I copy that traffic. Hey, make make a 20 to me real quick. >> I copy that, LT. 20 to you right now. >> Hey, this is Lieutenant. >> Yeah, what's going on LT? It's Coleman. >> Coleman, so real quick, uh did you did you notify DV on this because they were living together, right? >> Yeah, yeah, so they were living together. >> Okay, did you notify DV on this? >> No, what do you mean by that? >> Domestic Violence Unit. >> No, I didn't. No, I didn't. >> Okay, yeah, uh well, you probably just want to notify them uh about that situation. But So, here's the deal. Uh Fire Rescue, they're going to be around have them check on check on check her out and stuff, man. And then she good, just you know, like I said, now I got to report this. You got to get all the suspect information and all that good stuff. >> Yes, sir. Yes, sir. >> All right, yeah. Um I think yeah, I think probably I have to notify she should notify definitely notify uh Domestic Violence Unit on this. And then um and then once they get there, man, just you know, wrap it up and stuff, man. That That That's That's crazy, man. The crazy is is just putting this independent putting this independent, you know? >> Exactly. And I I I I raised red flags several times, but I know they have so much control over it, you know what I'm saying? >> Yeah. >> So, what what's the number for the DV place? >> Just uh go over to SOS the detective radio and raise him. And then um you know, and then just have 620 the TAC 1, man. You can advise him on TAC 1. >> Okay, I'm raising DV. >> Uh yes, sir. >> Okay, appreciate you, LT. I'll go ahead and do that right now. >> All right. >> All right. >> Yeah. >> Hey, buddy. >> Yeah, hey. Cuz LT called me and told me to raise DV on the on detective, but I was like I don't think we have a DV. >> used to be a Domestic Violence Unit. It's That's how long ago LT was like on patrol. There used to be a Domestic Violence Unit. >> Oh, I'm like, wait, cuz I don't think that's a thing. But I was like, okay. >> Yeah, it used to be though. It used to be. >> Oh, okay, so yeah, cuz I went to the detective >> knows that you did your part. >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. I told him I did. And cuz I went to the detective and I was like, yeah, DV. I'm like, I'm right. And he was like, no, go to Go to Yeah. >> [laughter] >> I was like, "Okay, sorry." >> Hey, you got to be confident. >> Right, right, right. Appreciate you. >> No problem. >> All right. What's going on? >> She said I'm leaving. >> All right, so lady got into an altercation with her sister. She's 3 months pregnant. She was punched in the stomach. I was wondering if one of you guys could check her out so you can maybe get this cleared up there. 311 radio. It's all You coming up now? 311 radio, 609 the zone two. That's >> Thank you. >> No problem. >> This is my mom. Yeah. And she loved this Wi-Fi ball. It's the only thing she loved. >> How you doing? You got a better birthday for the daughter? >> What's her birthday, baby? >> A better birthday for the daughter of We just put it in there. >> It's not right. >> Ain't come back. I'm going to put it in there as this, but >> Cuz she never been arrested. She's 17. She just turned 17. >> All right, all right, I'll put it in there then. >> Right, she never had a case before or nothing like that. >> Okay. >> She just just She just turned 17 in May. >> All right. >> I believe it's it's May 15th. >> Okay. >> May 15th cuz I know her birthday not too far from mine, but I know it's 2003. >> Okay. >> It just why she ain't coming up because she been in this system before. >> I got you. I just want to double check. >> You right. My mom wanted to know, she had a question. She wanted to know is it Is it okay for your your um your mom to be giving you your mom to be giving you weed, ecstasy, or um >> Well, I mean, weed is still technically illegal, so no. No ain't trust. All right, brother. All right, on tally. >> Yeah. >> No problem, sir. >> Now, one thing you'll notice in the first part of this footage, Grady was called to the scene, but it took them over 2 hours to arrive. [music] Thankfully, from what we can see, this did not appear to be a life or death injury. [music] But, because one of the victims stated she was pregnant and had been punched in the stomach, this was still something police had to follow up [music] on. So, once the first officers cleared the scene, that was not the end of it. The next day, January 30th, [music] 2021, an investigator came back to the apartment to get more information. >> [music] >> But, the sister who reported being punched in the stomach was not there in person. So, the investigator spoke with the mother [music] first, who was also listed as a victim in this case. From there, the follow-up shifted [music] into getting a clearer picture of what happened, who was involved, and how this family move-out dispute turned into a battery investigation. So, now we slide [music] to the next day, January 30th, 2021, body cam on. >> Is she Is she a real sister? So, her mom is your mom as well? Okay. >> Is there anything here with her sister with her daughter name on it? Cuz I think you you gave her name but I think it's wrong. How you spell You said what? I'm sorry. And what's her correct date of birth? What did she do to you? But but who who who assaulted you? So it's just a mom. What what injuries do you have? So you got you got scratches or you said bruises? Which which arm? And so that's it. That's all the injuries. It was on your right arm? >> So she she was the primary she was the one who you said she was pushing on you did she ever hit you? So she was just pushing and shoving Were y'all wrestling? Were y'all wrestling? What do you mean wrestling? Like Did she like slam you to the ground? It was like it was like a little hugging match or something? Okay. And your mom you said she cut her finger trying to break y'all up. Okay. All right. Well, thank you. I'm just I guess I'll show this picture to your mom and I'll see if she can identify your sister. All right. Thank you. You know where she live now? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. All right. Let you stay there for like 6 months. Okay. Well, but this is the thing is you know, when you call the police then we were like obligated to do something even if you don't want to press charges. It's just the I guess this is the worst part of the job, you know, people don't want to prosecute but you know, with our policy with the APD. Okay. I got you. Okay. Yeah. Yeah, that's true. What happened then? All right, let me talk to your mom, see what she says. All right, bye. Hey, can I talk to you? >> Yeah, I appreciate you. >> Huh? >> I appreciate you so much. >> You're welcome. What What happened? >> Um >> Yes, ma'am. >> What happened is she and her son brought her over here to pick up her items. >> Mhm. >> And she's been back and forth threatening T'Nia. That's my daughter who just got through talking to you. Threatening her and stuff like that. >> How do you spell your daughter's name? >> T'Nia >> T'Nia >> T n i e r a >> And last name C A R T H A N >> Yes, sir. >> Do you know her date of birth? It's 12/17/88. >> Yes, sir. >> Okay. All right, so >> But sometimes she used she used T'Nia's identity >> What 11 radio? >> Oh, yeah, the code four here. >> Yeah. >> They're coming out here. They're all getting out. >> and nothing like that but the last time she had >> 2112 you can go ahead and code four that 2112. >> T'Nia's identity. And she just she just took I had I had to say it to you. She just certain problem and her her daughter she's 17. I practically raised her daughter and I never heard her child would say she would kill me. So what why would you why would the court allow her to give her back to me when I took her mom and her daughter to court on that. I don't know if they're still having problems or whatever. But you know, I feel that she shouldn't try to you know, mess up that child's life. You know what I'm saying? And right now I called her father and told her father yesterday what was going on. Um his his name Marcus. And she got other two children and I also have went and reported to D Faxes and stuff like that. And while I was having a thing with me, she used to jump on me all the time and stuff like that and I I always took care of her in in a way of a matter the proper way, you know, of taking her care of her and she think that I'm supposed to take still take care of her. She's a grown woman. And she wants to jump on me and hit me. I don't know what she did to me yesterday. I don't know if she instantly had a little sharp weapon in her hand or whatever, you know. >> Did she she punch you? >> Yes, I was I was in the middle trying to uh stop her. >> It was just like this like stop. >> Yeah, I was telling them to stop both of them, you know. That baby going to die, you know what I'm saying? >> Did she punch her in the stomach? >> Yes, she was punching her. She was hitting on her. She She really was. >> Cuz she said she was pushing her. >> She was pushing her. >> Tanira said she was pushing her. >> Well, it just >> Could you could you do what she did to Tanaira? Show me how she did Tanaira. >> The way when when they was doing when she was you know, she wasn't actually doing it but she was like punching, you know, trying to hit Tanaira and she was trying to fight her and stuff and I was >> So was she fighting So do do how she was doing. >> Do how Tanaira was doing? >> No, uh >> Tanaira? >> Yeah. >> She was like, you know, throwing her hands >> Was she Was Was it making contact? Or she was like just punching the air? >> I didn't really really see it because I was trying to stop both of them at the same time. >> So you didn't see her punching? >> I didn't see her punching but her but it was like, you know, I was trying to stop them at the same time but her her daughter grabbed me and put put me down slammed me down on the couch and they was trying to she was trying to go back at it again with Tanaira. I was trying to stop them. >> So you're a victim of this case as well. So who who assaulted you? >> Um Tanaira She was pushing me and her daughter thought I was trying to go after her but I wasn't trying to go after her. I was trying to stop it, you know, get in the middle of it and try to stop it. >> All right. Can I get you something? >> What about 1400? >> Can I get you something? >> What's your date of birth? 4 24 6 You have a good night. So here's how this case eventually played out. Court records show Lorene Evans was later arrested on the warrants connected to this [music] case. From there, on April 15th, 2024, Evans entered a plea in Fulton County State Court. She was sentenced on [music] two battery family violence charges and placed on probation. As part of that probation, the court ordered her to complete certain conditions, [music] including anger management and no further violent contact with the victim. But according to the final court paperwork, those conditions [music] were not completed. The paperwork calls it an unsuccessful termination of probation. That simply means [music] the probation was closed out, but not because she successfully completed everything the court ordered. So what started as a family member needing somewhere to stay [music] turned into a move out dispute, then police, then warrants, then court, >> [music] >> then probation, and finally, a record showing the court ordered conditions were not completed. All of this from a family [music] situation that got way out of hand, and that is why helping family can get complicated. Atlanta Crime Files, body cam off.
