She has no brain function. She has bruises literally all around her bend. I can show you pictures. [music] Her belly is full of blood. She's got an injury to her liver, her spleen, and her colon, and is still actively bleeding inside. >> No, I can't do this. I just want to hit somebody so hard right now. I CAN'T DO THIS. [laughter] I CAN'T do this. He's only 10 months old. >> Covering up a crime can mean hiding the evidence or spinning a web of lies to keep the truth buried. But some take it a step further, pretending they had no idea they'd done anything wrong at all. >> I beg to give her breath and just take me instead of her. >> I wish I could erase that day. I wish I had Charlie in my arms. We will never be able to fully trust someone with our son again. From bold denials to clever deceptions, today's video exposes some of the most shocking criminal cover-ups ever caught. [laughter] For today's first case, imagine trusting someone to watch over a child only to have that trust shattered in the worst way. How could a babysitter let their duty slip so dangerously, leaving a mother in sheer terror? >> No, I can't do this. I just want to hit SOMEBODY SO HARD RIGHT NOW. I can't do this. I can't do this. >> Police received a report that a 10-month-old baby was unresponsive after being left in a closed vehicle. It was a hot summer day in Mcclenny, Florida on July 19th, 2023, and no one knew how long she had been inside. >> What you need, coffee? Y >> yeah, she's burning up. >> Got it. Yep. >> Here, I'll help you. >> I got it. >> The car doors were open, too. So, sure if they just came out of the car. >> She in the car. She's obvious. >> Let me know when you're ready. Folly, CPR's in progress. >> Everyone was doing their best to save the little baby, but the odds were against them. She had been in the care of babysitter Rhonda Juel, and the baby's mother was devastated seeing her child in such a critical condition. >> I swear to God, if she dies, I will I can't I CAN'T DO THIS. I CAN'T [laughter] DO THIS. He's only 10 months old. She's in the garage. Has any medical problems, congenital heart defects, anything like that? Is she allergic to anything? What can I do? >> Go get tell them to grab us a uh a pey board. >> A pie board? >> Yeah. >> See if she was in the car or or what? I got it. >> Yeah. Last um >> Yeah. >> Tell you what you got or anything. That's what I'm thinking about. I I can actually carry her into >> What do you want me to do? >> The baby identified as Aria Page remained unresponsive and officers made her safety their top priority. They quickly rushed her to a nearby hospital for emergency care. >> I just need to get a data burst for the paper. Doctor need to talk to his family. So is out of the ER. That's what she's trying to call right now. >> Ryan Carter. >> Yeah. >> They say golf. The doctor's ready to talk to her, but I told her to wait. >> I just want to know something. >> I just want to know something. You want to go in and talk to the doctor? >> I don't know. I I just want to know information. I I don't The doctor's going to talk to you. >> Doctors confirmed that baby Aria Paige had passed away. The cops quickly began looking into how a day in a babysitter's care ended in such a tragedy. Starting with Rhonda Juul. She need her escort up to the sheriff's office. I'll >> take her >> come back. >> It won't take long just to drop her off and they'll sit on. >> Okay. >> Is there anything we need to do before crime? >> That's a question for her. As of right now, I'm not quite sure. >> Cuz I have no details either. I'm >> Yeah, I have nothing. That's why I'm asking. >> Can I go change? >> Yeah, I can. Can I come inside with you? Make sure >> bring some ID with her. >> Hey, >> she's got to change. >> Have her bring her ID back, too. >> She just go the way she is. Grab your clothes. >> Yeah. Get you a change of clothes and you can change when you get there. Okay. But you got to be the way you are for now. All right. Get your clothes. Do you need a shirt? Okay, come on. This way. Let's go ahead and go and get this get this started. Okay. >> The deputy work. You're going to go with him. Okay. >> Did you tell her her to call my husband? >> Go tell her. >> Call your call her husband. >> What's his miss Rhonda? What's his number? I'm going to jail. >> The officers needed to document the vehicle's temperature. So, they called in a specialist to determine how hot it had gotten inside. They were shocked to see the result. >> Here he goes. Got a green shirt on. You can get close to No, that's She looks at me, but I don't >> That was 134 interior. >> That's the door being open. >> The door being open. So, you know, it was probably 150 or 60 in there when it happened. >> I'm sorry. >> That's okay. Thank you. >> Yeah. Rhonda was brought to the station for questioning. Since Arya had been in her care, detectives wanted to know exactly what she had done that day to understand what led to Aria's. I picked her up about 8:00. Um, I usually keep her 2 days a week, so I work Monday at my other job, but some things have fell through. Her husband only won't work night shift. So, I went back just Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Okay. at this place where I was at today, >> the house where you was at today. >> Mhm. Which I think I have twins and a girl that I keep. Um anyway, so on the same days I pick up Aria from her house, but today was an earlier day because she the other the other lady needed me at at 8:15. So I picked her up at 8:00, which is usually 8:30. Anyway, so I picked her up and I pulled through Burger King to get something to eat, but the line was too long, so I left and went went to the job I was at >> on a state street. Correct. >> Mhm. Right. >> Um so I got there um at 8:15 and the baby was like cuz she was asleep now. She was quiet and because I don't keep her every day, it's it's forgot she was there. So, I went inside, got busy with the other kids, and um I even talked to the mom throughout the day, and it just didn't click. >> Right. >> That the baby was out. >> So, that was at 8:00. What time did you realize the baby was out? >> You know what time roughly that was? >> When 911 was called. >> Okay. Um, how many kids were in the car when you got home with her? When you got to that house today? Just her. >> Just her. >> Just her. >> And the other kids were there. I'm assuming you babysit them for the family that lives at the house. They were already there. >> Um the homeowner that lives there, what's her name? You know, >> Stacy. >> Stacy. >> Mhm. >> Did Stacy know that she was bringing the other child? >> No, cuz sometimes I have one, sometimes I don't. >> Okay. So, she had no idea. Um, and where did you park in the [laughter] at the driveway? >> Um, in the rocks. >> In the rocks. Pulled off into the rocks. Okay. And all the reason I'm asking, I didn't know if maybe if they would have seen anything when they left when when they left there. Um the uh stuff that's in the car, the baby stuff, is that for that child? Okay. >> It's hard to believe how someone could forget a baby they were supposed to care for. As the conversation continued, detectives focused on determining whether Rhonda's actions were truly accidental or if there was more to the story. You said when you got there to the house on Estate Street that she was sound asleep. Um was the plan to come out and get her a little bit or >> No, I normally just get out and get her and take her inside. >> But I'm saying you said you noticed that she was asleep when you got there. >> Well, she would I I assumed she was asleep. She didn't make any noise. >> Okay. She wasn't making any noise. >> Yeah. I I just picked her up and her mom said that she would probably go go to sleep. So, I assume she had fell asleep, but she wasn't making she didn't make any noise. >> Okay. And the questions that will come up is, you know, is anything on your mind? Have you are you going through something personally that would cause you not to, you know, think about it? Uh I mean, we have a kid moving to college, so we're doing that. And >> right, >> we're going to we're London and we're supposed to go on vacation tomorrow. And >> I mean, I don't that's not an excuse to make. >> No, that's not I'm not asking to you to make excuses. That's not what I mean. And I mean, you know, uh the question is, you know, it is possible to forget things and and even a child. And it's it's even more possible if you've got some type of stress in your life at the time that you're going through that kind of thing, you know, that would cause you to make that forgetfulness, you know. Um so I didn't know if there was something like that going on in your life right now. just of the moving our kid to to college and this trip coming up in England and we're supposed to leave at August the 2nd and all of that. So, but >> no drugs are alcohol. >> Rhonda was charged with aggravated manslaughter and leaving a child unattended in a motor vehicle. The court trial for Rhonda's case began with the heartbreaking testimony of a mother reliving the most devastating moment of her life. When you arrived on July 19th to pick up Aria, where did you go? >> To the front door. >> To the front door. >> Had you ever gone to the back door? >> No. >> Have you ever gone to the garage door? >> No. >> So that was normal for you? >> Yes. >> What did you do when you first got to the front door? >> Knocked on the door. >> Did anyone answer when you knocked on the door? >> No. After you knocked on the door, what did you do next? >> Rang the doorbell. >> Okay. Did anyone come to the door when you rang the doorbell? >> No. >> Could you hear anything inside the house? >> Yes. >> What could you hear? >> Um the TV and the kids >> in the house. >> You could hear that something was inside the house? >> Yes. >> After knocking on the door and ringing the doorbell and there's no answer, what do you do next? >> Picked up the phone and called her. So, you called the defendant? >> Yes. >> What did you say when you called her? >> Said, "Hey, I'm here." >> And what did the defendant say to you? >> What door are you at? >> And what what were you thinking when she said, "What door are you at?" >> I was wondering why she was asking me that. I've never went to any other doors. Okay. >> What did you tell her? >> Said front door. What happened next when you told her you were at the front door? >> Um, she then came to the door and opened it. >> When she opened the door, what did you do? >> I stepped inside. >> And what did you do as soon as you got inside? >> What did I do? >> Yeah. What did you do? >> I took my shoes off. >> Okay. And what was the purpose of that? >> Um, I was just always raised to take your shoes off in somebody else's house. >> Okay. What does the defendant do as soon as you walk in and you take your shoes off? >> Um, she kind of shoved me out the way and like just started running out the door. >> Is she saying anything as she was running out the door? >> Screaming my name. >> Do you know where she was running to? >> Not until she arrived where she was running to. >> And where was where did she eventually arrive? >> The back passenger door of her Tahoe. Would that be her vehicle? >> Yes. >> Where was her vehicle parked? >> On the side of the driveway in the rocks. >> So, it was outside? >> Yes. >> Was it in the garage or anything like that? >> No. >> Did you follow her to her car? >> When I realized where she was going? Yes. >> When you arrived at the defendant's car, what did you see? >> Aria not breathing. >> Where was Aria? in her car seat still. >> Was she still strapped in? >> Yes. >> Exactly where you had put her? >> Yes. >> You said she was not breathing? >> No. >> How did you know that? >> Her lips were blue. >> What did you do next? >> I told her to call 911. The courtroom grew tense and heavy as Aria's mother tearfully recounted her final moments with her daughter, painting a scene that was both heart-wrenching and impossible to forget. >> Would you like me to tell you? >> Yes. >> Um, so she told me two hands on her on her chest. She said, "Don't push too hard cuz you'll break her ribs." But she said, "Give her air in her mouth." Try to give her air in her mouth. >> And did you follow those instructions? >> I did. >> [snorts] >> How did Aria feel to you when you were touching her? >> Very rubbery and wet. [snorts] >> Did the ambulance arrive? >> Yes. >> The police arrive? >> Yes. >> When the ambulance arrived, did the paramedics then take over with the CPR? >> Yes. And did they eventually take Aria to the hospital? >> Yes. >> Would that be Ed Frasier? >> Yes. >> Right here? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> And did you go to the hospital as well? >> Yes. >> When you went to the hospital, I imagine other family members went there as well. >> Yes. Correct. >> Did Pamela Page show up and other individuals too? >> Yes. Okay. Did your husband eventually come to the hospital as well? >> Yes. >> And did you then hear from the doctor? >> Yes. >> And were informed that Aria had passed? >> Yes. How'd you feel at that moment? >> I didn't know how to feel. I didn't know what to feel. Um, I don't even know how to explain it. >> One by one, Rhonda's actions began to come to light. The officer who investigated the scene testified in court about the horrifying ordeal Arya had endured. Details that shocked everyone in the room. She did. >> Did she remember to get Aria out of the car? >> She did not. >> Now, in the investigation in this case, um, without telling me what anybody else said, did you speak to other witnesses? >> I did. >> About how many? >> Probably maybe four. Four other people. I want to talk about the timeline. We've talked about it a little bit, but the things that happened on July 19th, um, what time did you understand Dayiah Pageige was picked up by the defendant? My understanding was she arrived at the house at 7:50 a.m. [snorts] and left at 7:55 a.m. She passed through the LPR at 7:59. And between 7:59 and 8:15 is when she went to Burger King and arrived at a State Street. So, she was at the estate street roughly 8:15. >> 8:15. Yes. >> And during your interview, uh, did you understand the defendant to say that she had communicated with the victim's mom? >> She did when she first arrived there at a State Street. >> And when, based on your investigation, was a riot discovered in the vehicle? around 1:12 at p p.m. >> So 8:15 a.m. to roughly 1:12 p.m. >> Yes. >> And in your investigation, uh, can you tell the jury what the temperature was that day? >> It was projected to be 96 to 98 degrees. Um, I know in my vehicle the it gives you a display. I don't know how accurate it is, but it was roughly 98 degrees is what the temperature was showing. Rhonda would not get away with just an apology. The prosecutor then began her testimony in court, starting with the moment Rhonda picked up Aria in her vehicle. >> You saw Brooke put the baby bag with all of the items inside of it inside of your vehicle. >> Yes, sir. >> You don't you didn't forget that. Correct. >> Correct. >> You then drove off in your vehicle with Aria in the vehicle with you. Correct. >> Yes, sir. There was no one else in the vehicle but you and Aria. >> Yes, sir. >> You go to Burger King. How far would you say it is from Burger King to Brook's house? >> Um, I didn't go through Burger King. I stopped at the red light. >> The red light? How far approximately is it? >> I'm not really sure. Um, not good with distance, so I I don't know. >> 34 minutes. >> Yes. Yes, sir. Did you forget about Ari in 3 or 4 minutes? >> You just picked her up. >> Yes, sir. I did pick her up. Yes, sir. I agree. >> When you got to the intersection of where Burger King is, did you forget that quickly that you had just picked up a baby? >> It was It was not that quickly. It went from >> So, you remembered she was in the car at that moment? >> No, sir. I didn't. I picked her up. >> Is it your testimony today, Miss Juul? >> Judge, let the witness answer the question, please. Uh, he's just staying. >> Go ahead and answer. I picked her up from Brook and Justice's house at approximately 8:00 and I went through through McClennon [clears throat] through the red lights and I stopped at the red light at Burger King and in my mind I was picking up breakfast for all the kids and I noticed that the line was long and I would not make it to uh the Pascal's house by 8:15. So, I just went and went ahead and and went to the pasle's house because I needed to be inside so she could leave by 8:15. >> Okay. So, let me back up a little bit. Let's go back to the red light >> where the Burger King is. That's just a few minutes from Brooke and Justice's house. Correct. >> I would say 10 minutes. >> My question to you is this. When you got to that red h red light >> where the burger king is at that moment. Did you forget Aria was in the car? >> I did. >> You did? >> Mhm. >> So you had gotten up that morning with the job of driving to Brook's house >> to get Aria and your testimony today is after picking up the baby in approximately 10 minutes you forgot you had picked up the baby. I forgot I had her. Yes, sir. >> And that was your job to get her. >> Correct. >> Correct. Yes, sir. >> And as you testified today, you've you've been doing this for years. >> Correct. >> Yes, sir. >> No matter how much Rhonda tried to claim she had forgotten area by accident, the prosecutor had all the evidence she needed to challenge her denial. Taking care of Aria was her responsibility, and there was no excuse. So, your testimony today is you got up in the morning, you drove to Brook's house and Justice's house, picked up the baby, and in approximately 15 minutes, you just forgot the baby was in the car, even though that was your job. Correct. >> Yes, sir. I forgot. When you went into Stacy's house, you have to agree, isn't it true, you never got Aria out of the car? >> No, sir, I did not. >> You didn't get the baby bag out of the car either. >> No, sir. >> You get to Stacy's house and at 8:17, you've seen the text. You send a text to at 8:17. The text from you to Brooke is just left. Shocker with a emoji, a happy face emoji. You remember that? >> Yes, sir. >> So, you sent Brooke a text at 8:17. >> Miss Juwel, you're saying that you forgot Aria is in the car. But at 8:17, you're texting her mom. There's no reason for you to even be texting Brooke unless you have her child. You're texting her at 8:17 in the morning, letting her know Stacy's left. >> This was normal for us to text every day. >> You're texting Aria's mom at 8:17. >> Yes, sir. You'd have to agree there's no reason to text her. [music] The only reason is >> your honor asked and answered. >> Overru cross your exam. >> The only reason to text her is to let her know Stacy has left the house. And you have Aria. Isn't that correct? >> Yes, sir. But it it stems from a a conversation we had the day before about how Miss Pascal would come and, you know, she would come and then she she would leave when I got there. She would leave late. She would come late. She would leave late. That's what that was about. >> Miss Juel, you are having contact with Aria's mom at 8:17. Aria is still in the car. And you're saying today that never rang a bell? >> No, sir. >> That Oh, the baby's in the car. >> No, sir. >> Even though you're communicating with the baby's mom. >> No, sir. Because that was normal for us to talk every day. >> Okay. So, let's go to 8:32. >> 8:32. You have another text communication with Brooke, Ariah's mom. Once again, you're having communication with Aria's mom, and you're saying today that still at that moment, even though you're talking to the baby's mom, it never dawned on you, oh jeez, the baby is still in the car. >> No, sir, I did not. I forgot that I had her. She I forgot she was with me. >> Arya's mother had given formula food and clothes to Rhonda to care for her daughter. That day, Arya was with Rhonda for more than four or 5 hours. But what Rhonda told the court she did to her was unbelievable. >> On July 19th, 2023, you left Aria in the car for over 5 hours. Correct. >> Yes, sir. >> You never ever fed her on that day. Correct. >> Yes, sir. >> You never made a bottle for her. Correct. >> Correct. >> Never changed her diaper. Correct. Never changed her clothes. Correct. >> Yes, sir. Isn't it true that you never um used baby wipes or baby lotion or anything like that for her at all? >> Would that be accurate? >> Yes, sir. >> You never did anything that would be necessary for a babysitter or a caregiver to make sure that a 10-month-old baby would be safe. Isn't that accurate? >> Yes, sir. >> So, you failed in your duty of care towards Aria, this 10-month old child. Correct. >> Yes, sir. >> You admit that? >> Because I forgot I had her. Yes, sir. >> You But you failed in your duty. >> Yes, sir. >> You had mentioned, I think a little while earlier, that Aria at that age could crawl a little bit. I think you'd have to admit Aria was incapable of unbuckling herself from the car seat or opening a car door at that age. Would that be accurate? >> Yes, sir. >> On July 19th, Miss Juel, when this occurred, isn't it true that you never answered the door when Brooke knocked on it? The front door? >> Yes, sir. >> You never answered the door when she rang the doorbell. Correct. >> Isn't it also true that Brooke would normally, as she testified, she'd come to the front door to pick up Aria? >> Yes, sir. >> And when she finally called you, you said, "What door are you at?" Correct. >> Yes, sir. >> On that day, Miss Juel, were you were you drinking? No sir. >> Were you on any kind of um drug or nar? >> No sir. >> You mentioned you had like a shoulder pain or something. You weren't taking anything for that. >> If I took anything, it was Tylenol or ibuprofen. You mentioned to investigator Darede when you were being interviewed about your child going to college, about going to England. You were focused on that that day. >> I had a lot of things going on. >> But your responsibility was to care for Aria. You didn't do that. Isn't it true? Yeah. Yes, sir. >> After hearing all the testimony and reviewing the evidence, the jury delivered its verdict in Arya's case >> in the in the circuit court of the 8th judicial circuit in and for Baker County, Florida, state of Florida versus Rhonda Charmaine, case number 02, 2023 CF 333. We the jury find as follows as to count one of the information. The defendant is not guilty. We the jury find as follow was asked to count two of the information. Very well. >> Any further proceedings involving the jury? >> No, your honor. >> No sir. Very well. >> The following week, the court sentenced Ronda Juel to 17 years in prison for thirdderee murder. As Rhonda's reckless actions landed her in a legal nightmare, our next case wasn't as serious, but it was certainly troublesome. She sprayed me. >> She [ __ ] swatted it right back in my face. >> Are you going to stop? >> [clears throat] >> rescue is coming to wash that out of your eyes. >> Thank you. >> And then we're going to jail. >> You understand? >> Yeah, I understand. >> Do not fight again or it will happen again. >> Okay, >> Elizabeth, why? >> And I'll take kindly to >> I understand. >> And he has you convinced of his and that is not cool. >> However, I >> I need an attorney and I need it right now. >> Hear hear me out. >> And I need to call my family and they need to get me attorney stacked. >> He was going to drive me there. One will be provided to you. I understand. >> No, they won't. It takes about a month and a half for MLAN County. Get me a defense attorney. >> Okay. >> I've already seen it happen. Takes time. I need one today, not yesterday. Especially a husband who just wants to get me out of the house with troll. >> All right, Elizabeth. >> I'm not joking. >> Elizabeth, I'm I'm not arguing. >> Look at his criminal history in Seattle. >> He's a domestic violence insane person. >> I got to read you these five. You know the five. All right. >> Read them to me anyway. You have the right to remain silent. >> You understand your rights? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Officers advised Elizabeth to grasp the seriousness of the situation and she initially seemed to consider their guidance, but suddenly her demeanor shifted. She became unhinged again and began criticizing the police department. >> You got arrested a couple weeks ago. I know you're saying that's however you have an open court case with that one that says you cannot have contact with them or go over to Orchard. You went over there 2 days ago and you called us. >> I didn't call you. You did call us. >> I called normal. >> You called us to normal. >> It was recorded. I did call you. >> It was on a recorded line. I spoke with my dispatch. You said, "My name's Elizabeth. My husband, never mind. I got to go." And you gave you an address of Orchard. James said you were over there. At that point, I had probable cause for arrest for violating that no contact order. Today, you racked up a slew of charges. You got resisting and then you have a battery because you kicked both of us. >> But you were also being stupid and arresting me on >> on No, I'm arresting you on valid probable cause. Like, you didn't want to listen. You wanted to argue and fight. That's how we ended up here today. So, Rescue is going to clean out your eye and then we're going over to count. Do you want to make any statements? What happened two days ago? What were you doing over at orchard? >> Like he said, I knocked on the back door to ask for my bag and he said no and then I left. >> Okay. Now, if I open that door, will you be fine with them to rinse out your eye? >> Okay. >> I have a contact. >> Okay. I've been talking to you for years and I know and I don't know how you got incorporated with James, but I know it's not good. You guys need to separate. >> Well, yeah, but I can't make him leave and he won't leave and all my belongings are there. So, I'm in a kind of conundrum. >> You should have followed through with that OB like I told you. >> Well, you're right. And it's still sitting there and I'm doing it. >> You were good for almost a whole year not drinking. >> Yeah. >> And you see what happens when you drink this. You're a decent person until you have alcohol in your system and then you make really bad decisions. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> You leave me no hope. Bloomington Illinois, you're a piece of [ __ ] out of the city. >> Hey, Elizabeth, >> YOU YOU RELAX. YEAH, YOU RELAX WHEN SOMEONE JUST HOG TIE you of a cop. YOU >> YOU HAVE NO CASE. TAKE [screaming] ME TO THE CORONER'S OFFICE. >> All right, let's get her out of here. >> Yeah. >> Oh, so you could defend somebody who wants to a 19-year-old. Oh, wow. I really support you. Not. I will never work for your state of Illinois again. You will never get another tax dime from me. You stand for nothing. You stand for degradation. You don't stand for truth and you don't stand for peace. You stand for dishonesty and lies. [ __ ] you, Bloomington Police Department. I you Elizabeth was charged with two counts of aggravated battery against a peace officer, resisting arrest, and violating a protection order. When emotions run high, people forget that the law exists. Our next case shows just how far a domestic dispute can escalate. Should be like right there. >> Right here. There you go. >> Officers rushed to the scene after a reported stabbing involving a woman. But as the investigation unfolded, cracks began to emerge in her story >> okay. What happened? >> Um I was sitting porch with my baby and my baby did I when I came to my house I was um >> seven months after >> I come to my house I was sleeping my porch and he was right there like working out here. So he came he he came out there. I shut my door. He came back in there and he said, "Um, what's wrong with her? Don't be touching her." I ain't even touch her. I guess I wasn't hearing her. I wasn't even hitting her. >> But I don't want to talk about He gone now. >> Okay. So what happened? >> He's gone now. >> Okay. How did you fight him back? Describe it to me. >> Oh my god. I was fighting him back. >> I was just hitting him. >> Okay. Where'd you hit him at? >> I was pulling his hair. I don't feel like I'm lying to you. >> I didn't say that. >> I'm not lying to you. If I need you to be descriptive, like descriptive for me. >> I just told you I was fighting him bad. I was pulling his hair. >> You pulled his hair? Okay. Did you hit him at all? >> No. I got him. >> Okay. So, I need you to be descriptive. Where Where did you hit him at? >> I was pulling his hair. I was choking him, too. >> Okay. And then what happened after that? >> That's all. He left. He gone. See? >> Okay. Left in left in what was he wearing? >> Black. All black. >> All black. Okay. >> She was right there. >> Is he a what's it called? Is he a um >> Is he like child's father or something like that? >> My kid father. >> Okay. How many kids do you guys have together? >> Two. >> Two. Okay. How'd you get the blood on your arm? And where'd that come from? >> I don't know. >> Where's he at? He's gone. >> Okay. So, you don't know how you got the blood on your hand? >> I stabbed him. >> Okay. Where'd you stab him at? Cross my get my children. I stab him. He He touched me. He choked me. Okay. He thought I was B. Get my children cuz with me and I don't stab. I guess I'm going to go to jail. Can't count with me. Call determining myself. I defended myself. They came here with me. Yeah. >> All right. Get off the phone. >> Okay. >> Tell us what's going on. >> I just I just told him I was I came Okay. I was in my house sweeping my porch. While I was in my house cleaning up, I came outside sweeping my porch and he was right here. Right. So, >> parked in a what? >> A gray with rims on. >> Okay. >> So, he got he got in the car. I said, "What I help you with?" He said, "I want my clothes and shoe." I said, "Yeah, clothing shoe in here." So, he left. He got his gadget out of support and went to the trash can. And then he came back in the house. He got he got a key to my house. Came back in there. He thought I was making her my baby cry. I was not making her cry. He came in there choking me. So I I defend myself. I let her choke me. >> Okay. Where did this happen at inside the house? >> Yes, my house right there. >> Where did it happen inside the house? >> In the living room. >> Okay. And then what happened with the knife? >> I just told you he choked me. I stabbed him. >> Where'd you get the knife from? >> My house. >> We're at in the house. >> In my kitchen. >> Okay. So, you guys were in the living room. How did it How did you guys end up in the kitchen? >> No. Well, he's Florida when he choked me. >> Mhm. >> The woman recounted the incident, claiming her ex had allegedly choked her and grabbed her baby. Then in a shocking twist, she admitted to him, but insisted it was in self-defense. >> He came st I stabbed him. >> Okay. So, he choked you when >> my kid was my babe was not in the house. She was a rap her. >> Okay. So, she he choked you. >> He choked me. So, I told my call my my kid's cousin to come get my kid because he not be choking me cuz I ain't do that to my baby. >> Okay. I'm not call this man or nothing. >> WHO CALL POLICE? >> I DIDN'T CALL. I STAY UP HERE. HE CHOKING ME. >> OKAY. WELL, he need to go to jail, too. >> He walked upstairs with the kid. >> No. Okay. Let me tell you something. Okay. When he came back in, that baby was upstairs. I guess he thought I was making her cry. I was not making her cry. I just want her to go upstairs. Go ahead. Kevin the house is choking me to stop touching me. I want you. I don't want you. I want I even touch with Kevin Hall. I can't stop crying. I'm back crying. Saw her go going. He gone. I did nothing to him. I haven't called her phone all day. I've been here with my kids. >> Come on. >> Messing with me. >> Okay. So, he went upstairs. Where did you go inside the house? >> Went what you mean? I went I just told you I went in the kitchen and got a knife and he had choked me, sir. >> Okay. So, where was he standing at when you grabbed the knife? >> He was right there in the living room. >> Okay. So, he was in the living room. You were in the kitchen grabbing. >> I would have got a knife because he choked me. He was choking me. I couldn't hardly breathe. That's why I went and got a knife. I was confir I understand that portion. I just have to figure out where people were inside the house when stuff happened. So, you grabbed the knife in the kitchen. He was standing in the living room. Where was he standing in the living room at? >> Like >> I can't even remember where he was standing. >> Okay. And so after you grab the knife, they >> After you grab the knife, what did you say and do? >> I said, "Don't be putting your hand on me. Don't be stop playing with I said stop playing with me. I'm not the one." >> Okay. >> Stop playing with me. He came here with me. I My my temper is not here. >> So >> I don't care if I'm going to jail or nothing. I don't care. I'm pissed off. >> Told the girl this. >> All right. So when you grabbed the knife and he was going upstairs. >> No. No. Let me tell you something. >> He Okay. He walked in the house and he said he came in the house. He put me. He said, "Don't be making her mother cry." I was not making her cry. I told her to go upstairs. He choked me when he got up. I called her. He got my baby at first. Then I took my baby from him. When I ever took the baby from he took the baby, I put him he put the baby down and I told her to come get my baby and tell when he came when he I can't get my baby. That's when I stabbed him because he choking me. I'm going to stab him in front of my baby. >> Okay. So, he wasn't going upstairs then. >> No. >> So, he was in the living room when you stabbed him? >> Yes. Doing what in the living? >> He said he said um he said you want me to go jail. He go back find me he go back find you. Okay. >> Where did he grab you at? >> I ran my neck. He was choking me. >> Can you show me exactly where he grabbed you? >> I ran my whole neck. Get the dog. >> From behind or from in front? >> Like this? From the back. >> From the back. >> Yeah. >> So you He wasn't like this in the front. He was on the back. >> Yeah. >> Um >> so and I'm still trying to figure out how you got to him to stab him. So, did you walk to him? Did he walk to you? How did that happen? >> He walked to me and said, "Stop playing with me." >> Okay. So, he >> came back to me. >> He's in the living room. You're in the kitchen. You have the knife in your hand. What hand did you have the knife in? >> I can't even remember, sir. I ain't going to tell you no lie. I don't even remember. >> Okay. >> I don't remember nothing. I'm just telling you what I know. >> The woman's statements about the incident were inconsistent. To verify her account, a deputy went to the house to investigate and uncover what had truly happened. >> Phone calls. I know you're trying to tell people what happened, but I need you. She was asking me as >> I need you I need you to talk to us. Okay, we've got the phone number. All right, show me where the knife is. >> I don't know what I did with the knife. >> Yeah, but I give you the knife or you don't know what I did with it. >> The knife is in the house. >> No, you look here. I wish my camera record. You would see the whole thing, but my camera don't record right there. I did. I'm not going to lie. I did. I sure did. Right there. I'm not going to lie. [ __ ] with me. I did. Shoot. >> Don't touch anything. Just show me where the map is. >> What? >> Don't touch it, but just show me where the map. >> I don't even know where it is. I'm looking for it. I think I'm blind or something. >> No, we're doing the investigation. >> Not the head. >> All right, sir. >> Mom, go outside. >> Where exactly did you stab him at? >> Sir, I don't remember. >> So, you don't know if he was going upstairs or not? >> Right here. You see his m right here? Go outside, mama. Go outside. >> And after you stabbed him, where did or what happened? >> Went outside. >> Y'all both went outside. >> He left. He went outside. >> Okay. So, I'm sorry, but we're trying to figure out what happened to the blade. What happened to the knife that you >> I don't know where it >> What kind of knife was it? >> I don't know. It just a regular knife >> from the kitchen. >> Yeah. >> Okay. And so when you got him with it, >> check the camera. Check the camera. I don't >> Did you come out? Did you come outside? >> What? >> Like did you come outside with it? >> I can't remember, sir. >> Okay. So, are the are all of these your kids? >> Okay. >> You have these two? >> No. >> The baby right there. Okay. And who are those his kids, too? >> Yeah. >> Okay. As the situation remained unclear, the cops spoke with the woman's ex to hear his side of the story. He gave a different account of events which did not match the woman's claims. >> Key, she said she had to get my clothes and everything cuz she said she had thrown them in the trash. So for then I got mad. I told her I was going to call the police because her throwing my stuff in the trash. But I wasn't. I just wanted to go in the house and uh to reassure that my you know few items that I had there were actually there once I seen that it wasn't there. Uh came back down. I was actually beholding my little girl at the time and I heard her digging in the kitchen for something a knife but I really thought she was going to come out with one. So she uh came charging at me saying no put my [ __ ] child down. Get out my house. I told you I throw it away. I like cool. Okay. So, I'm as I'm exiting the door right there in the doorway. I don't know if there's much blood right there, but that's when she first cut me. Uh, I kind of like trying to grab the knife because I seen her griting her teeth like, you know, somebody getting ready to do something. So, I kind of grabbed the knife. I still wind up getting cut. So, I ran outside. I think she got me like one time in the ass. So, I went like, "Put the knife down. Put the knife down." I'm trying to calm her down. She whiped me one more time in the chest. And >> she stabbed you in the chest. >> Talking to the >> I'm sorry. >> She stabbed you in the chest. >> Hello. >> Can you hear me? >> Yeah, I have one um Yes, sir. I can. I have one in my chest and one in my uh on my thumb, my right thumb. On my left thumb, I'm sorry. And she was uh just francing yelling at the neighbors saying, "Oh, he came over here, beat me up, all it." No, I didn't. You immediately when I walked through the door, she went to put on my hair and I got her off me. We both fell to the floor. That's the only thing that might happen. Physical her didn't hit her, nothing of sort. >> Okay. Um >> I was just on the phone. >> Did you ever grab her by the by the She's upset. She's She's got some swelling around her neck. Did you ever grab her by her neck? >> No, sir. I did not grab by her neck. We both fell to the floor. She fell down. I did not grab by her neck. >> Okay. So, when you fell to the >> I wasn't even in the >> Athens Regional. Uh, what what caused y'all to fall to the ground? >> My dad. >> I don't want to walk in this hospital like this. He's been stabbed in the chest and in the left thumb. >> Um, >> all right. Well, I've got an officer going over there to get some more information from you. Um, we're going to talk with her a little more. Um, >> at that time, cops did not have enough evidence to arrest the woman. Meanwhile, she continued her act of portraying herself as the real victim, prompting officers to call EMS to check on her condition. >> All right, you do me a favor. Can you walk down here for me? You're not under arrest or anything like that, but >> I just told you my kid back. >> Man, listen to me. You are not under arrest. >> You are not under arrest at this time. I just need you to walk over here with me. Okay. >> I promise when you're under arrest, I will put the handcuffs on and tell you you're under arrest. >> Okay. >> I will I will make arrangements so you can get your kids stuff. Okay. >> Okay. >> I need you to lean up against the 911 for me, please. >> Just have a sit on that push bumper for me. Thank you. >> Um, if you can do me a favor, can somebody hold the kid while we get you taken a look at by EMS? >> I don't need no ammo. >> I know you said you don't need to, but we have to. Okay, >> good. >> Yeah. Okay, sweetheart. >> Hold your wrist out for me. >> Hold it out like this. Don't take me. >> Turn around and face me. I have to do this. Don't talk to me like this. You look embarrassed. >> No, they pissing me off. >> I'm saying my neck. What you see right there? >> That's where you said you got grabbed. >> Oh, yeah. You choking me. He >> EMS, if you can just make sure she's not suffering any life-threatening injuries or anything like that. Yeah. >> All right. >> Where's she at? up and >> were baffled over the knife the woman allegedly used to attack her ex as it was missing. Officers questioned neighbors and family members hoping to uncover any clues about its whereabouts. >> Yes, I had just walked outside when it happened. >> Okay. What did you guys see or what did you see? Uh well, when I just had walked outside, he was pulling up or whatever. She asked him to leave, but instead he act like he walked off like he was going to leave, but then he ended up coming back. And when he walked inside her house, I don't know what happened. All I know is I came back in my house. She asked me, "Can I get her kids?" I just got her kids and I came back. Now, what happened inside? I don't know what happened on inside. That was it. >> Okay. Uh, >> how how long were you standing outside the entire time or just a little bit or? >> No, I had just came outside when he pulled up. That's what I'm saying. Me and my baby had just came outside when he pulled up and she was asking him to leave and then when I said he act like he was going to leave and then I was like I looked and then he was going back in. So I went back in the house. Then she called my phone. She was like, "Can you come get my kid?" But she was yelling like she was yelling. You know what I'm saying? So I was just I didn't thank her. So I was just like, "Let me go get her kids." So I went and got her kids or whatever and I came back. I didn't ask her what's going on. And that was it. >> Okay. When he was um going to go leave and coming back, um did you say anything at all? Was he saying anything? Was he acting weird or anything like that? >> No, he just walked out like he was angry. They were Yeah, he just walked out like he was angry because like I said, I don't know if uh him I guess her and another girl, like I said, they had been going back on social media or whatever about him or whatever. I don't know if that's the case or whatever, but um I don't know. He just showed up and I just walked outside and she was asking him to leave and he like he was angry or whatever. He was mad cuz she was telling him that his stuff wasn't in there because that's what he had wanted. Then she asked then I all I know I came back in my house and she called me asked me to come get our kids and I just came get our kids and that was that and I don't know what happened after that. So >> okay that's fine. When we were standing outside earlier you said that the knife was inside of the house you're Oh okay. When you were standing outside did you see uh the female with the knife in her hand? >> Okay. So, you were you guys out with your mom earlier? >> And you're not in trouble, honey. >> Please don't let my mom go to >> You're not You're not in trouble. >> I don't want my mom to go to cuz I That's the only That's the only place I have. >> That's fine. I understand. >> Hey, look at me. Look at me. Nobody's in trouble right now. Not you or your mommy's in trouble right now. Okay. We're just trying to figure out what happened with the knife. That way we can put it in the evidence. Okay. >> Do you know or do you know what happened to it at all? >> No. [laughter] Go to jail. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I don't got my mom. I don't got nobody. Only my mama. That's the [laughter] only person I have. And that's the only person I have in my life. The only person could take me. The only person who could take me [laughter] is my my li. >> Hey, I didn't I didn't say I was arresting your mommy and you're not in trouble. Okay, now I'll I'll kind of explain what I have >> cuz your mommy said it was fine to talk to you. That's why I didn't talk to you earlier cuz your mommy said no. But your mommy was fine with me talking to you. Okay. Um, she walks to the apartment with a knife and then we don't see the knife anymore after that. Now, the only reason I'm asking you is because you were standing outside earlier. I'm not sure exactly what you saw, how you saw it or anything like that and I'm just trying to figure out where it went. U, all I can see on camera, all we can see on camera is that it comes to this apartment. Afterward, the cops began inspecting the house where the events had occurred. This time they documented the scene and uncovered what they had been searching for. >> You see the blood down here on the sidewalk? >> No. You got a picture of it? >> Huh? You got the hair? >> Did we get hair? Picture of hair. >> I did not. >> Okay. Yeah, I'll grab picture. Hang on. >> I didn't get that. >> Oh, there we go. >> You see it? So, I see where the uh knife was pulled from. >> So, I'm sorry. >> She pulled it and boom. >> And then where' you say the hair was? >> Hair was right should be like right there. Right here. >> There you go. You see? >> Oh. [laughter] Oh, I thought I was Man, I was looking for a dreadlock. >> So, here's the thing. >> I glazed right over that for >> there to be some kind of >> That light's kind of bright. Can we like There it is. Like get like that angle. There it is. So, that's fine. >> For there to be a tussle, nothing's messed up in here. >> No, she tried to say the tussle. It couldn't have been no like real hard tussle in here because >> So she she changed her story like three times. >> For real. >> She said he was going up the stairs with the baby in her hand in his hand. >> So and I'm going to give you what Goodwin told me as far as his story. >> He walked in. >> Is there anybody down there? >> No, we we cleared the house. Um there was an argument. Uh he knew that there was going to be a problem. >> Uh-huh. >> I'm listening. 71 central. He's wrapping up here. We just recovered the knife that she used to stab the male and he's going to head out to Pummont momentarily. [music] >> The cops had enough evidence against the woman. Yet, her ex came to the station to give his statement about the incident. He revealed troubling details about the woman's actions. Okay. My father, my little sister. Well, sort of his name in it. The state going to pay charges um just because of some stuff that was discovered. Um there's some stuff that took place after you left the scene with her and some neighbors as well. Um that uh I'm I'm going tell you like this. I'm here to talk to you because she trying to get you talking. >> Yeah. But I ain't doing ain't good. >> And that and that's why I just want to Is that your hair that was sitting on the phone now? >> Yeah. >> So I seen your hair. I you know just briefly walked in. Um I seen the blood. Um I've heard her story. Um but and I could have not talked to you, but I still want to come over and talk to you. I'm saying when I do my report because there somebody else going to catch charge out here and it ain't you. All right. Um, but there is somebody else is catching charges. I found a knife. You going to say somebody did hide the knife. One of her friends went and hid the knife and all this. >> So, we were pulling teeth. You know what I'm saying? Trying to get this knife. Everybody, oh, ain't no knife ever. Then the girl, one of the girls had never said she ain't even stabbed nobody. Hold on, ma'am. What we here for then? >> So, and so that just let you know where we at. you know, she going um she did initially try to position it like you was pretty much trying to kill her. All right. Um I had my little girl and um and put her down getting out the door. I was right at the door like I open. I ain't even like I told her I didn't even see the knife at first cuz I I pull her down. As soon as I put cupcake down, she went over to the soap and I really wanted no ch holding with his hand at the same time. And so, uh, I seen her grinding her teeth. I sm The woman was charged with aggravated assault and tampering with evidence. It's wild how quickly people can get agitated and impatient, turning small situations into complete chaos. Our next case is a perfect example. How dare you knock on my door like this? Come >> outside. >> No, no, no, no, no. I don't have to go outside. >> It was a simple traffic violation and all she needed to do was comply, but she chose the worst possible option. >> Can you put the car in the park and I'll call him at my house because I'm >> No. >> Around midnight, an officer conducted a stop after Angela improperly used her turn signal. It seemed like a routine stop until she became hostile. >> Hello, my name's Officer Bagley. Nothing crazy. Nothing reason for the stop. It's not in your eyes. It's going to stay right here. Okay, >> sir. I'm telling you it's in my car. >> Okay. You want me to keep it here then? Is that okay? >> We got to just >> Well, I got to make I got to just I got to see inside your vehicle. I got to make sure where you're at. >> No. Why do you got to see in my car? >> Because I have to make sure that you're not grabbing a weapon. Ma'am, I'm >> You pulled me over. >> Ma'am, there's no need to get angry. >> I'm pissed because you have What's your probable cause to pull me over with? >> Because you didn't use your turn signal within 100 ft of turn left. 100%. You were at the gas station and I knew you were going to pull me over for some [ __ ] >> Okay. I'm recording as well, too. >> Okay, great. >> So, I didn't use a turn signal. I knew you were behind me. So, when did I not use a turn signal? I knew from the gas station you were going to pull me over on some dumb >> I'm just going to give you a warning and we can get out of here. >> I need a warning. I know how to drive.
