Man, ain't love something? Most of us done fell in love at least once. Some of y'all twice, three times. [ __ ] Some of y'all done fell in love with the same person four or five different times. I ain't judging, but if it didn't work the first time, what made you think the fifth time was going to unlock some secret happy ending? I digress. Love always starts off the same. Y'all meet, exchange numbers. Now y'all texting all day, talking on the phone all night. Both of y'all got work in the morning, but nobody want to hang up. Then come the dates. Every notification got you smiling. Every text got butterflies. Every date felt like a movie. Then come the matching outfits, the vacations, the family cookouts. But somewhere along the way, something changes. Those good morning texts turn into "Where you at?" "I'm almost there." "Almost where?" "I'm on my way." "Who all over there?" "Just the fellas." "Name them." "Mike, Dre, lion ass D man, and his cousin screw head." "Put Mike on the phone." "Why?" "Because you're lying." "Mike ain't over there." "How you going to tell me who all over here?" "Don't make me call bad credit Keisha to come pick me up and we pull up over there. You know I will. You're lucky she at the title pawn right now trying to get her car back or I'd already be outside holding my self-made [ __ ] stick. Now put Mike on the damn phone." "Now hold on. Mike wasn't expecting to testify tonight. Poor Mike just wanted to watch the game. Now he done got subpoenaed into y'all relationship. He don't want to violate the bro code and he damn sure don't want her mad at him. Now Mike's stuck between loyalty and survival. He ain't trying to start no civil war. Then it gets worse. He say, "Why you always FaceTime me? Why not call me like a regular person?" "Cuz phone calls don't show the scene. FaceTime do. I need visuals to make sure you where you say you at, Mr. I'm just running down the street for a minute. Turn your camera around. For what? Because I want to see who all over there. I just told you who was all over here. Old crazy ass girl. God damn. You don't trust me? Answer the question. You don't trust me now? Stop answering my question with another question. I'm just saying. [ __ ] what you saying. Turn the goddamn camera around. You finally make it home. You already know it's going to be some [ __ ] You unlock the front door. There they are, sitting on the couch, TV on, but they ain't watching it, arms folded. You ain't even got in the house good. Where the hell you been? Traffic. What traffic? Traffic on 285, Einstein. I drive a car, not a spaceship. I can't just fly over it. You always got an excuse. Nah, you always got a problem with everything I do. I can't leave the house for 5 minutes without you bitching. You think I'm stupid? I really don't know. Don't walk past me. I'm talking to you. Here we go. Don't here we go me. Answer the question. The argument has gone completely left. Nobody listening. Everybody talking. Before you even take your shoes off, you standing in the middle of your own living room giving a press conference. You always on some sneaky [ __ ] Then she randomly bring up stuff from last summer. Remember when you embarrassed me at my cousin's cookout? Hold on. I thought we was talking about why I got home late. What a cookout got to do with right now? Now we ain't talking about today no more. We talking about every mistake you made since flip phones was popular. Things get louder. You try to go in another room and cut the music up to drown her out. She busts in barefoot smelling like wild Irish Rose with her homegirl on speakerphone instigating the whole damn thing. That's when she unplugged the radio. She start hand clapping in your face. See, that's your problem. What's my problem? Now y'all standing in the hallway exchanging words like y'all in a rap battle. You always lying. Well, you always exaggerating. At least I tell the truth. Truth? You don't even know what truth look like. You dramatic. Yeah, and you're delusional. You don't listen to me. Maybe because you never stop talking. You don't shut up. Good gracious alive. You don't cook. I don't cook? Then who been feeding you? You call that food? Huh? Why are you still here then? Then the family shots start flying. You just like your daddy. Leave my daddy out of this. Nah, your whole family can get it. I know you ain't talking about nobody's family. I know we ain't doing that. You don't want me to start on your family because I can bring up your mama, Miss Charlene the dope fiend, the rock star. Now family members catching strays like they in a drive-by argument. The fight lands back downstairs. Now y'all in the kitchen going back and forth. You open a bag of Doritos. She snatched them out your hand. Don't touch those. You didn't buy these. Matter of fact, from now on, if you didn't buy it, don't touch it. That's when he snatched the wig off her head. She jumps. With a smirk, he said, "You just said if I don't buy it, don't touch it. If I recall, I Cash App'd you $125 to buy this wig. Going off your logic, this wig is technically mine, right?" That's when he slung it across the room like a Frisbee. Now they auditing everything in the house like IRS agents. Now both of y'all arguing so loud, the neighbors done muted their TV. The Ring camera done got invested in the conversation. It's getting good content. DoorDash at the front door pretending he taking a picture of the food, but really eavesdropping. You get the picture. A simple argument turns into chaos. Now thankfully, tonight's story didn't go that far, but it did start the same way. Two people, one relationship, one disagreement. Tonight, our story starts when officers are dispatched to a domestic disturbance between a husband and wife after an argument inside the home escalates. Name-calling, hurt feelings, somebody gets pinched. Atlanta Crime Files, body cam on. >> Hi, officer. Johnson is calling you guys. >> We got a 911 call. We want to make sure you're >> It's okay. >> He wouldn't give me my phone. >> Okay. Where's he at? >> He's upstairs. >> Can he come down here? >> Terry! Can I get some police in here, please? >> You were on the phone 911 when this happened? >> Yeah. >> Okay. Just tell him I'm here. >> He won't come downstairs. Terry! He He's not listening. >> Okay, miss. You can come down here. >> Please. >> Do me a favor. Let's step out. And I'll talk to you out here, okay? >> Can we to go out back or something? He's got the front door. >> Are you worried about the front door? >> No, cuz >> The neighbors. Just quick. He's leaving, all right? Are there any weapons in the house? >> Yeah. >> There are weapons in the house? Upstairs with him? >> No. >> No, okay. What do you You have a firearms in the house? >> Yeah, we've got one in the car, one in the kitchen, but others. >> But he's upstairs, no weapons. >> Correct. >> Okay. Two tone, negative weapons. So, Lauren, tell me a little bit Is there history here or >> Long, long time ago, I mean, yeah, we get in, you know, verbal arguments. He starts calling names and stuff, and >> Right. >> you know, I got upset, you know, I pinched him because he called me a name. >> Okay. >> That's when he took my phone. >> Okay. So, you called 911 and he took your phone? >> But then I went upstairs, and they were both on the dresser. His and his and his and mine. >> He took your phone? Okay. I understand. >> So, I got my phone. >> You don't happen to have ID on you, do you? I don't want you to go back in the house. Can you give me your first and last name, date of birth? >> Lauren Jackson. >> B E R R Y? >> R Y 1 5 >> J K S O N? >> J A C K S O N. And knowing the way he is, he'll just he's not going to engage. That's why I actually was when you guys were here. >> the the house phone? >> Yeah. Cuz I was going to let you guys know then. >> Okay. So, this happens how frequently, would you say? >> Oh, like this? >> Yeah. Not often? >> No. >> Just usually arguments? >> Yes. >> Okay. >> Yeah. But the name calling gets really bad. I know that's just verbal, but >> Okay. Did Did it escalate to physical or >> Well, like I said, I punched them. >> them? >> You calling me? >> Okay. >> He won't come downstairs. So >> Like I said, knowing how he he just goes in his cave and you know, he won't talk to me. But like I said, when I called, he had the phones. >> Right. >> But when I went upstairs, the phones were on the dresser. >> So he put the phones down every time I talked to him. >> Okay. Um let me just run some information. You can hang here. I'll be right back with you, okay? Okay. >> Are you afraid to be here? >> No. >> Okay. >> No. >> I I know you had a whole conversation with her already, so >> No, but the the verbal stuff It's just got to stop. >> Right. >> whatever. >> It's hard. >> I know. You guys don't need to be called for marital issues. >> I I I can I've been through a divorce. I completely understand. I know where you're coming from. I've I've been through it, so >> know, but you guys have bigger, better things. >> Oh, no. This is what we're here No. This is what we're here for. >> Probably most of your stuff in John's Creek. >> No, this is this is what we're here for. We're We're here for you. >> Yeah. >> So >> Yeah. Well, like I said, when I saw my phone there, I'm like, ah, wish I could have called you guys because that's I just wanted my phone. And like I said, he's upstairs in the bedroom, locked the door. He won't >> Sure. >> When he gets mad, he just retreats. >> Shuts down. >> Mhm. >> Yeah. Locks down. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> And will that go on for a few hours or how long does that >> Oh, I mean >> The rest of the night? >> Oh, yeah. >> But you'll see him tomorrow or >> Yeah, I mean, but he'll go days without talk I mean, he won't engage. >> Yeah. Sounds a lot like my parents. They would They would go for weeks where they wouldn't talk to each other Yeah. >> No, we've gone maybe a couple of days. >> Yeah. >> My god, it's so hot. I like sitting here sweating. >> Yeah. At least the humidity went down a little bit, so. >> No, it's a little better. It must be really bad. >> Yeah. I didn't know what I was in for. This is my first summer in Georgia. >> You're kidding me. Where are you from? >> North of Minneapolis. >> Uh-huh. >> So, I came down. I got tired of winter, so I came to hot summer instead. >> I'm from Buffalo, so. >> Oh, sure. You understand. After 50 years, I just couldn't do winter anymore. So. My kids are up there yet, though, so that's hard, but. >> Mhm. >> They're all adults, so they're living their lives. >> That's good. >> Yeah. I like the palm tree. That's fun. >> Yeah. We have a bunch in the back, too. >> Okay. Do you have to do anything with them? >> Mhm. Not really. >> super easy to just Do they have a pretty deep root system? Do you have to water them, or do they >> A little bit. But actually, I'm sorry. I started sneezing outside. I'm like >> medicine pollen or something out here. >> Let's check. I'll take a phone call for you. You're fine. I know. I feel like the same way. Talk to Mr. Jackson. Um to see what he has to say about everything. Okay. Um Do you want to open the door? I'll see if >> Yeah. >> He wants to come down. We can do. Mr. Jackson? >> He's turning the water >> Mr. Jackson, are you upstairs? It's John Wickliffe. He want to talk to you. >> Do you mind if we knock on the door? >> I don't know. >> Which door is it? >> In the corner. >> Yeah. >> Mr. Jackson? Mr. Jackson, you up here? Mr. Jackson? >> He's in the >> In the shower? Yes, I see him. >> Okay. >> All right. >> He just got home. >> Okay. >> Sorry. Then he went away. >> What was the argument about? Do you mind me asking? >> Yeah, cuz the argument was about I started it because when he goes away, I don't hear from him. >> Okay. >> So >> So you just brought up some relationship concerns and then it kind of escalated. >> Correct. >> Okay. Um Let me step out quick. >> Okay. >> And is he usually long in the shower? No? Yeah, cuz we'd really like to talk to him and get his side. >> Okay. >> All right. You can tell him to come out, okay? >> Yeah. Oh my gosh, I don't know what is in the master room. >> Yeah, get some water or something if you need. >> Um so he got home from work, they got in an argument, she pinched him, he took the phone from her while she was on the phone with 911. Now, he's in the shower upstairs. >> He needs to get out of the shower. >> He won't. We tried to go upstairs, calm him down, everything. >> So, what happened? >> So, he came home from work and she confronted him about him being away and her not hearing from him and not sure what he's doing. And they got in an argument because they argued and he called her some names and she punched him and he took the phone when she called 911. >> Where's she at? >> She's upstairs in the bathroom. The noise. >> Hello, sir. Johns Creek Police. What's going on? >> That's my wife. >> We did. We just wanted to hear your side. >> She attacked me. >> What do you mean attacked? >> Tore my shirt off of me. Okay. >> Hit me. >> Scratched me. Stuck a phone in my Would you please take that thing out of my face? Thank you. >> You want to go ahead and put on your clothes? >> No. You want to go ahead and put on some clothes? >> I don't know. >> you step out here and I'll stay out here and talk to you here with you. >> I'm not >> I'm walking out. >> Stop walking away. Just stop. >> Where she at? >> In the shower. >> Why do so many come out? >> What's up? >> Why do so many come out? So many of you >> Um whenever there's family violence or these types of calls, you know, in this case there wasn't, but it's always just for everyone's safety it's better to have more here cuz sometimes they get out of control while we're talking >> Yeah. >> to people, so. And then that's the corporal, so he's the supervisor. >> Uh-huh. >> Whenever there's a call like this, the supervisor comes out, so. >> Yeah. >> I heard my client two points. That's fine. >> All of the information is second phase. Okay, but she wasn't on the phone by the way. >> No, absolutely not. >> I said before that >> Is that so, ma'am? >> Yes. >> Could you come up here with this gentleman, please? >> Yes. She's having a fit. >> I understand. I still have it. >> I take that on the counter. Sure thing, tie with this gentleman. >> This is information. Scott, do you want me to get a photograph of the photograph? >> Okay. >> What's your name, sir? Mind if I turn the light on? Otherwise, I can turn the flashlight on. >> I can I take that on the counter. Who's taking that in? No. >> We're going to set her up here for a photograph. >> Just a pen tie, right? >> Thank you. >> So, what are you doing? Put this back in. She punched his arm. There's our witness. Who's there? He said that when she stopped punching him in the face, like her words were something. Pull out her hair. I think we got a pretty clear battery with that. So, I think we have enough to do. Do you agree? Is that what your thought process was? That's what I thought too. It's pretty clear. When did we notice that? >> Did not come upstairs. >> Okay. >> She said I asked him uh her if he was on the upstairs. He said no, they're in the bedroom. >> Okay. >> In the kitchen and the car. >> So, what they said in the kitchen? >> Just in the kitchen, not in the car. She was That's how we knew. >> Okay. So, they don't want to go through their stuff here. We have all of her personal information. So, you've read her. What about him? Okay. Okay. So, the pinching preceded all the other stuff, right? Is that what the story is? >> He said he's calling her names. And then she kicked him out of the house. >> She said she's going to divorce him, so she was >> She has a text. >> So, you have pretty clearly that he was grabbing her. He said he was grabbing. Make sure this is written. Um it's pretty obvious we can have him. We can have her. Um let's go ahead and get her. Let's sit down. Do you want me to fill out this? >> Okay. This is what we have so far. >> Mhm. >> I can see my mom back there. Does this sound familiar? >> Yes, sir. >> Thank you, man. >> Terry. >> No, no, man. What happened? >> Okay, but Terry. >> Is there something I needed? >> Terry. >> It's all right. >> No. What happened? >> He didn't ask for it. >> Hold on. Wait. >> Yeah. Hey, uh can we take him in there? Okay. Thank you, sir. >> Guys, hold on. Hold on. Okay. Just give me a second. There was a history. >> I understand there's a history. Okay. >> Have you Listen to me. >> Hold on. >> I've done this for a long time, okay? I've done this for a long time. So, I know there's a history. >> He wouldn't give me my phone and he's calling me names. I'm scared. I'm scared. Jared. >> Huh? I know there's Yeah. Do we have shoes, ma'am, that I can get you? >> What do I do? What >> First off, let me get you some shoes, okay? Are they in there or are they upstairs? >> flip-flops. >> Let me get you a pair of flip-flops. >> Oh, I didn't know you needed one. >> Oh, you said he bitched on Where's Do you have marks on you? >> I don't know. My wrist. >> Your wrist? What's the guy's name? >> I don't want to be in the front of the house, though. >> Woah, woah, yeah, we have to >> Where are you guys taking me? >> We're going to take you to the North Fulton Annex in Alpharetta, okay? >> And then what happens? >> And you'll see a judge sometime in the morning, okay? The judge will set a bond and then go from there, okay? >> Can I bring my phone? >> First, have her go through the security check. Thank you. T-E-R-R-Y? >> Mhm. >> J-A-C-K-S-O-N? >> Correct. >> All right. And you did work, Terry? >> 6:00 >> All right, I'll have to I'll wait a second. I'll have to get out of my uh home to take the pictures. All right, it's not in my car. >> What's going to What is What is this going to happen? What's going to happen? >> Well, it depends on the information we receive. I mean, >> What's >> It Was it Was there an assault or >> No. >> No assault? Okay. I just What I'd like to do is just get a photograph of your injury and the shirt. >> Why? I just thought if she would shut up and behave and everything would be fine. Let me go to sleep. I have to be at work at 6:00 in the morning. I have a job. >> Okay. >> She has worked there this summer. >> Okay. So, I'll have to talk to Corporal Derucci first before we do that, but so you're you're telling me you don't want to report anything or >> No, of course not. >> Okay. >> I'm going to throw some clothes on. >> Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. >> Yeah, they'll let you have it in the jail, yeah. >> Is it this one, miss? >> The little sweatpants? >> Yep, the little sweatpants back >> Okay. So, I need anything else? >> No, you don't need anything. Now, it's the the less the better. Do you have your driver's license in your purse? >> No. >> I'll take that with you. Is that okay if I get that out of your purse? I'm not going through your purse. I'm just trying to find the driver's license, okay? >> I don't know what it is, but he's going at me, too. Don't you want to see my wrist? >> So, I don't see any marks on your wrist, miss. He has a a marks. He's got a mark on his arm. I guess we're >> Right right clenched, yes. >> Okay, but Terry >> Just let me have my ID. >> Terry No. >> You should learn. >> Hold on. Wait. >> I'll I'll have to get this one. >> Terry, no. No. >> Anyways, uh Did you find my weapon down there? >> I didn't see it. I stood over here, so >> Tell him that there is one down there, just so you know. >> Yeah, it's Where is it again? >> It's been sitting on the counter down there. Okay. I walked in the door right there. >> Okay. Okay, buddy. Uh he said there was a gun He said there was a gun on the counter down there. >> I know there was >> Okay, he's got it. >> Maria, please just relax. You're not taking her in jail. >> She's being arrested. >> What for? >> Well, I don't know what you told the corporal, but >> I didn't tell him anything. I just had a scratch on my arm. >> You got to stay here, sir. >> Oh, I'm not trying to leave. >> Till till this till they're finished. >> Can I talk to him? >> You can talk to him as soon as he's finished. >> Can Would you Okay. That's where I grabbed her so she'd stop hitting me, okay? She came at me and pounded pounded and grabbed her. Of course I'm going to grab her wrist. >> Okay. >> So she's probably going to have marks on her wrist. >> Okay. >> Or else. >> Okay. Yeah, I know these these situations are terrible. I I understand. >> Oh, it's this chick. God, she can't control herself. No, I went to jail one night because of the same thing. She went crazy, throwing all my stuff out. I grabbed her. And the officers came in and she told me to go to the bathroom. >> Is it kitchen? Do you want to do anything else? >> First >> No, let's put the last of that here. Do you have your driver's license on you? >> Come on. I then I got I can't miss work tomorrow. I can't. And I want to leave her sitting in jail all day. Cuz last time I went in there all day. >> So when we come and talk to both parties, if there's evidence of an assault, we don't have a choice. So >> There's no >> The law doesn't give us any. >> Come on. You guys You guys can use common sense. Come on. You're not Holy crap. This guy didn't even hurt me. >> I know, but we don't have any leeway. We You know. >> Oh my god. idiot >> Uh if you can make bond. I don't know what I can't tell you what the judge is going to do as far as setting bond or anything like that, okay? >> That's what you pay to ensure your >> We're not sure. >> You have to see the judge. >> You don't have any idea? >> No. >> I'm so scared. Okay, I'm so >> That's his car right here. I'm going to follow you down, okay? Just stay out. >> He grabbed this just because you didn't do your best to mouth it. That's not a conviction of the crime right there. It's nice to meet you, Patty. You okay? But we have to take you to the hospital. Because it's a domestic violence situation. Yeah? You are required to go to the hospital, okay? This isn't a If you want to, then you can say jail. Finish it like It's a requirement of our law, okay? Believe me, I don't like to do it. I said You told me about history. I'm trying to say I've done this for many years. Unfortunately, I know there's been patterns, but when we show up it was the one time that the other side You know, I don't want you to say anything more, but >> He said he shouldn't be ALLOWED TO CALL ME THE NAMES THAT HE does and take my phone. >> Just remember that names Names though, they don't justify any sort of Okay? Yeah, I'm not going to do anything right now. Step up on the curb there. >> Okay. >> So, yeah, this is what it was. He came home and he was on him. And some piece of crap >> Okay. >> punched him, but then she had phones in his face. So, yeah, this is what it was. He came home and she was on him. And some piece of crap >> Okay. >> punched him, but then she had phones like in his face. That's when he grabbed it away. He said at no point was he trying to stop her from calling 911. At no The she wasn't trying to call my wife, she was just >> Okay. Uh it's battery because we do have a like a market >> Citation for the jail. >> Yeah, citation for the jail then it's the >> Cool. Okay. Thank you. >> Yep. >> Keep it 50, code 8. >> The last time this happened, like I told you I got I want to go to jail. >> Right. >> Right? And I told the officer, I was like, this is [ __ ] So that you know, I can defend myself. But I didn't go at her. I told her, I said, "You ever pick the damn phone up and get the police involved in anything because this isn't going to bite you in the ass." At the time before that, she hit me with a damn vacuum cleaner. Whoa, boom, I'm like, what are you doing? She has a bad temper. >> Sure. >> Lots of women I'm not preaching to the choir here. Lots of women have bad tempers. But the point is and I had to go to all those classes, right? How you deal with this, how this that and the other and you know, basically it was a lady telling me you can't Whatever you do, you can't put your hands on her. I said, "That's my wife. What do you mean I can't put my hands on her?" She goes, "In a physical way." I said, "Okay, I get it." >> Right. >> But I'm not going to allow her to sit there and beat on me. And I tried to escape. I locked that door, I locked that door, and I locked that door. >> Right. >> I'm just sitting in there blah blah blah for a while. And she here come the cops, the cops are coming. Like I'm supposed to be afraid of you? I don't have nothing to be afraid of. >> Right. >> There's nothing to be afraid of. I haven't done anything wrong. I came home. >> Right. >> I'm not upset. I'm not mad. I'm not >> Right. >> I just >> Yeah, sometimes these situations are very difficult. >> I don't know. Maybe uh Maybe this whole condenser to go is get some counseling and find out why she can't control herself. So, but this is ridiculous. >> All right. Well, I wish you and her both the best. I you know, I >> We've been married 21 years. So, I mean it's you know, she's blown up a couple times this and the other. I don't know. >> Right. >> I don't understand why she's so upset. Why she's so frustrated right now. I mean We haven't had any issues. >> Right. >> But I I'll tell you, I do have to travel. It's usually one night, right? Out and back. >> Mhm. >> And every time I travel, she blows up about something. >> Sure. >> You know, you didn't do this. She didn't call. You didn't Why Why Why did you go? Why blah blah blah blah. Oh my god. And I go out, I get in the hotel, wake up the next morning, do my job. >> Right. >> And come back. I was in Sumter, South Carolina. >> Sure. >> This morning. So, what do I do now? >> Well, she'll go to Alpharetta, to the annex, the Fulton County annex in Alpharetta. Yeah. >> And they towed my ass downtown and stuck me in there with a bunch of losers. >> That might happen. She may end up down in Fulton. That's up to the That's up to the sheriff. So. We have no control over that. But then uh yeah, I would assume she'll see a judge and then uh she'll have some conditions, I would think, and I do need to walk down and get my phone. >> Should I Should I stay here again? >> Um why don't you just wait right here, cuz then I'll I'll need to photograph your arm and your shirt. So. >> All right. >> Okay, I'll be right back. I'll give him a victim's card. >> Uh I'll give it to the lieutenant. >> You do that. Okay. >> Thank you. >> You bet. Yeah. Okay, fill out the rest of that with his information and have him sign if he wants to know his wants to be notified of his hearing. >> Okay. >> And then she'll take the uh he'll he gets the yellow copy. She'll take the white copy. >> Okay. >> Uh give him this as well. >> Sure. >> That way we say we gave him the victim's rights. Get photographs of the arm >> Yep. >> and the shirt. >> Okay. And then what's the case number here? >> Uh it's right there. Okay. >> 2958. All right. >> All right. >> Where Where did Right there. Okay. So, I got to get a picture of you first, and then I'll take a picture of that. Can you hold your arm up so you can so I can see? Okay. That's right there. That >> Yeah, that. >> That my Whatever, yeah. Okay. And the shirt, if we could lay that out here. All right. Thank you. Then I have uh if you want to be notified of any hearings, I just need you to put your information here, your name. >> I need Can I I got to get my glasses. >> Absolutely, we can have >> I got to walk downstairs. Yeah, I got to go help me. >> Here you are. >> In my whole life, I've never had glasses. >> Seriously? >> Yeah, I was hit 50. I lost the you know, this. So, I wore um readers for a couple years, and then Yeah. And then I finally went to the thing, they said my my prescription is I can't he he said he I I already have to give you this.
