Prosecutors revealed that quote, "Samayoa has a history of felony aggravated batteries and has made multiple threats to officers and individuals involved in this case. There is no reason to believe he will not follow through on those threats. The Addison Police Department lists the defendant in his criminal history as a Latin king. Juliet Patch obtained a successful petition to deny pre-trial release for Samioa and instead the judge has ordered Samoa to remain in the Will County Jail under the Safety Act. Inside the police station, Joshua would continue to bang his head on the wall and floors and was eventually taken to the hospital where he continued to be uncooperative and ultimately would go on to bite Officer Andy's finger, breaking the skin and injuring him from the bite. In totality, Joshua was charged with six crimes of aggravated battery and one crime of domestic battery. He was also charged with aggravated assault and obstructing justice. In total, he received one misdemeanor along with three felonies. Aggravated battery to a peace officer under Illinois's code section 720 is a class 2 felony where you are causing bodily harm against a known peace officer performing official duties. In this specific case, we have him kicking at least two officers and biting a third officer's finger, breaking the skin. Maximum sentences, if convicted, are 3 to 7 years in prison. Next, he was charged with aggravated assault under 720 Illinois's code section 512-2. Aggravated assault is when you're knowingly engaging in conduct that places a peace officer in reasonable apprehension of receiving a battery. Maximum sentences for this class 4 felony are 1 to 3 years in prison and fines up to $25,000. And for the last felony, obstructing justice under 720 Illinois's code section 531-4, this is a class 4 felony where you are knowingly obstructing prosecution or investigation of a police officer. In this case, refusing to identify, interfering with the booking process once he was down at the police station, and refusing fingerprints and photos, which is something else he did when he was down at the police station, all fall under obstructing justice. Maximum sentences are 1 to 3 years in prison. He was also he was also charged with resisting or obstructing a peace officer, which is a class A misdemeanor. As always, all suspects are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law. Let me know your honest thoughts on this case down below in the comments. And as always, I'll see you guys in the next video. >> Get in the car. >> I'm not even resisting here. WAIT. You ain't nobody worried about you.
