Mhm. >> Okay. >> Mr. Olson, >> I'm going to jail. >> We're not going to have this conversation right now. You're not going to talk to her. I do have to do my job. You're not going to interfere. Do you understand? >> Yes. >> All right. So, I suggest you sit in your car in your cab until I get to you. Okay. So, he grabbed your backpack. He grabbed your arm. >> Mhm. >> And p pulled you pull try to pull it off and pull it. >> And that was because of a water bottle issue this morning. >> Mhm. And apparently I was giving an attitude, but I wasn't. >> Okay. >> I wasn't trying to. >> Okay. Um, give me just a minute and I'm going to talk to him. Okay. Will you take some pictures? Mhm. >> I've got They're in the car. If you want my PD phone, just step over here and he's going to get some pictures. Okay. Can you describe exactly to him how he grabbed you and what happened? >> Okay. >> Am I going to jail? >> Well, listen. I need to talk to you about what happened this morning. Okay. Before >> is my jail. Yes or no? I have to make. >> Okay. Well, let me at least let you know your rights. Okay. I have to work. >> Mr. Olson, I still have to tell you, okay, I'm going to do my job. Understand? >> Okay. >> You and I have a rapport. Okay. You know me. I know you. >> Nice people. >> Okay. >> So, you know that I'm not like this. >> Okay. And I understand. But I have to tell your rights. That doesn't mean you're under arrest, okay? I just have to let you know. >> Very strong point towards you because I have to ask you what's going on. So, I'm gonna have to read your rights. Okay? You do have the right to rem silent. Anything that you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. Okay? You have the right to have an attorney present with you during questioning. Cannot afford an attorney will be appointed to you. Right. >> If I say no to answering your question because of what happened this morning, you're going to book a new direction. >> No, that's not necessarily what's going to happen. If I tell you what happened this morning, >> hang on. I'm not done telling you the rest of your rights. Okay, >> go down, please. >> But I have to tell you in full. >> Okay. So, if you cannot in a full attorney won't be appointed to you, you can stop answering questions at any time. Okay. Do you wish to speak to me about what happened this morning? >> I do. To a point. When I say stop. >> Absolutely. >> We go into arrest, we're going to have problems. >> Okay. What's happened this morning? >> Got up and everybody's getting up just fine and dandy. >> Okay. >> If I get out before school, I'm trying to talk to her like father and daughter's close getting nothing but disobedience. And she finally got to the point where I [ __ ] hate you and you're not my [ __ ] dad. And I said, "Get back here." So walking out to the bus stop. I want to pick somebody who feel like this. She wanted to swing at me, but I grabbed her [ __ ] shirt. I dragged her back to the house. >> Okay. Now, is that going to be arrestable offense? >> Possibly, Mr. >> Like I said. >> Okay. >> I I don't tell how you can do that with my [ __ ] daughter. >> Okay. >> It was disrespecting me and swinging on me. >> Okay. Well, there is a level of discipline and there is a level of discipline out on the street. >> Okay. Well, she's got rips in her shirt. >> Her knee is skint up. >> Okay. There is a level of discipline. And there's >> Am I going to jail? >> Okay. >> That's the next question. >> There's a possibility. Okay. make phone calls if I'm going to jail. So, yes or no? Am I going to jail? >> Okay, you're more than welcome to call somebody. >> Am I going to jail? >> Okay. We have to speak to her and I'm going to confer with my other officer. >> Okay. Right now, there's a possibility of you being charged >> for my daughter. >> Okay. >> I will make that charge stick harder if I get arrested. Well, there's going to be more than just one. >> There's going to be more than one. >> You're not going to do that because I'm trying to get her to goddamn help and this is what I'm going to face. >> Okay. You're not going to do that with me, Mr. Wilson. >> I want to get I'm trying to get her to where I'm supposed to go. And if this is the spot that I'm at and I do that and I go to jail for it, >> I'm going to be [ __ ] >> But there there are levels that you of discipline that you can have and there are levels that you cannot have. >> Somebody comes up to put silver bikes while I'm catching up with >> Mr. Olsen. >> M Sergeant Green, I'm trying to be nice and I'm trying to be nice with my daughter. My daughter has been a very violent daughter for the last two weeks. We are at a breaking point while I'm trying to get her competitive points right now. >> And I understand that and we can make those arrangements. However, >> because I'm not going to take a violent daughter that's going to be violent towards me and I get in charge while I'm trying to discipline her and bring her in the house that we're not fighting in the streets. >> Why didn't you call us this morning when she started doing >> my phone? >> At what point did she throw your phone? >> Wait, she was walking out the door. So I went out the door after her. >> Okay. So, you went out after her, but you didn't you didn't grab your phone. You just >> She threw things down. I just You're coming in the house. Let's go. We're going to talk about this in the house. >> Okay. >> And she fought me, fought me, fought me. She's everything. She's doing everything that the [ __ ] schools have taught her. This this my daughter's been turned against me. I'm trying to shoot her [ __ ] up. Rivendale did not want to take her two days ago because she was not a physical threat to herself. >> So, I said, "Okay, we come home at 10:00 at night." I'm still shaking and all that. We get home. We have a half ass decent day. We went through yesterday pretty decent. Then all of a sudden, we got attitude again. She goes to her one stays there and finished doing everything. She took off going to Mia's house and she sat down at her friend's house. She yapped her jaws all night. Brought her home at 10:00. I'm sorry, 8:11. I brought her home, fed her dinner, tried to eat and that was it. And this morning where our standoff like I'm the most evil person in the world. Like I don't exist. Like I'm not supplying food, clothing, housing, shelter, schooling. I'm not doing all this stuff for her and I'm getting treated like I am nothing. You want to swing on me? Fine. Swing on me. It's going to go down. She swung on me like an adult. >> What am I supposed to do then? Hold her down. What am I supposed to do? >> Well, you can't call you guys. >> You can't be dragging her around. Okay. >> She doesn't have no right doing the [ __ ] she's doing. That's why I was d I was trying to get in a damn truck. We can go to I'm home. I don't even know where it's at. I'm at a [ __ ] loss right now. Now I'm facing going to jail because of her. >> And I and I understand. >> I'm about to lose it, Sergeant. You don't understand. I'm at that point. If you arrest me, you're going to have a dead body on your hands. That's me because I'm not going to go through jail. >> No, you will not. >> I will force you to shoot me if you try to arrest me again. >> No, Mr. Olsson. >> I'm at that point. >> Mr. Olsen, you have always been cordial with me and I have always >> has to do with my kid and this is where she's gone. You know that I've been a great great person. >> I know you have provided for her. I know you have. Okay. It is to the point that the courts need to figure out her situation. They're going to have to get her into some kind of >> trying to go. That's why I wasn't going to let her go to school and go to make the phone call to go to bank. >> I understand. But you can't let that stuff get to you to make you do something that >> get her there. That's my son. Brandon, go away until I tell you. And I understand that you can utilize us to help do that for you. But you >> get her out of the street so she's not sitting in traffic and nobody's looking at me and making a scene. I'm trying to get her in the house. Then I can get the [ __ ] proper calls I'm supposed to do. >> I get that. >> She stopped me from she's literally put a hold on my [ __ ] family for two days entirely. >> And I get that. >> I've lost my job. I've lost my daughter's respect for me because she don't think I'm her dad. I don't know what the hell's going to go. I mean, I'm watching the world cave in. I have another job that I'm supposed to be calling at already. >> I'm at my wit saying I was on my way to P point to just leave her at the door. >> I understand. >> Rivend Doll don't want to do [ __ ] She's already been there once. So, if you take her there, they're going to send her out with me and do nothing. I was already there two days. We have a council question at 7:00 tomorrow night. And we was talking about going to the counselor. I'm not going. You can't make me go. I said we have to go. You're annoying because you cut yourself because you are a suicidal threat to them. We have to do all this stuff because of your actions. >> So she's at this point >> at this point she's out of control. >> Okay. >> This point she is out of control because she's now caught. She's out of control. >> I understand. >> And I have to get her professional help because evidently her counselor isn't working. Uh the crisis line's not working. Rivend Doll don't want to help. Well, I'm at a point where I got to go Pinnacle. Never been there. I've only heard about it. I have no clue where it's at. >> Right. >> I have to I got a place with the kid to figure out where a place is to fix her and get there. You see the problem, >> dude? I do. >> I'm trying to save her. >> And I get that. I get that completely. >> My dad dragged me across the room and threw me through a picture window. All for hitting me on the plate at school. Time to change. I understand. But the disrespect and disobedience that I'm getting out of her since the last two days has gotten outrageously bad. So I don't know if she's got interference at school. I don't know if she's got I don't know what's going on. She won't talk now because we're definitely not talking. We're back to square one. >> Right. And I understand. Okay. >> What the point I'm trying to make to you is the way the law looks at it now. So, I'm getting arrested. >> You can't go and and drag her around or try to drag her back in the house. Is that what you're saying? >> She does have marks on her. >> She got marks on her >> cuz she fought back to get away. >> And I understand that. But you can't do that. >> So, am I getting ready? >> Okay. At this point, I am going to detain you. Okay. >> I'm not going. >> I will let you know if there's going to be a charge for you. Okay. There's >> a charge. Better make sure you send back that card cuz I'm put on. Okay. Mucking charge. >> Mr. Olson, I suggest you don't say anything else. Okay. Will you turn your car off for me? >> No. >> Okay. >> Mr. Olsson, I'm giving you a lawful order to turn your car off. >> Why do I have it turned off? I got air conditioning on and I'm comfortable. >> Okay. I'm giving you a lawful order to turn your car off and step out. >> You put me in silver bracelets? >> Yes, sir. >> For what? >> Okay. >> For what? >> I'm detaining you. Sir, >> why are you going to detain? >> Mr. Olsen, >> why are you going to put me in silver bracelet? I told you this was going to get to this. Do not wear your silver braces cuz I've done no wrong. >> Step out. >> I've done no wrong. Sorry. >> Get out of the car. >> Stop forcing me like this. >> Get Mr. Olsson. >> You're going to [ __ ] put me right. You're going to >> get out of the car. >> Do we need to go here? >> Do it. >> Do we need to go here? >> Mr. Olsson, >> what are we going to do this for? >> We're not going to do this. Hop out. >> I do not have to get out. >> I JUST TOLD YOU TO HOP OUT OF THE CAR. HOP OUT. GET OUT. Do it now. >> I'm hacking. >> Step away. Do it now. Get away. STEP OVER THERE. WE'RE not happy. >> We are not. >> Stand here. I'm sorry, guys. >> You don't understand me. >> I know. I want to know why I've been arrested. >> I'm not done anything wrong for the defense. >> Would I give you a lawful order, Mr. Olsen? I have been nothing but cordial with you. You step out of the car. >> You do not do this. Do you understand? You're now catching a charge for resisting. >> Appreciate that. Thank you. Not trying to be resist. I'm trying to protect my [ __ ] daughter and not go to [ __ ] jail. >> Okay. Well, now you're going to jail. >> This side. Make sure to pat him down. Step away from the car. >> I didn't tell you. >> I'll let you know if you can take it. I'm not done. >> Take it. >> I'm not done. >> Okay. Do you mind writing out what happened this morning? You can stand back here. This officer right here is going to stand with you. Okay. You have my city cell phone. >> Hey Sophia, are you still planning to go to school today? You are. >> I'm trying to get my >> I'm trying to get my grades. >> You're trying to get your grades up. Do you um do you have anybody that would take you to school? You don't know? Okay. Was it just you at home at the time that all this happened or was Ryder home or >> Oh, all mother was home. >> Okay. So, Ryder was home as well and um Mr. Olsen, his other son. Okay. Um I'll Yeah, I'll see if he gets this thing. I'm not sure if he will, but he was in his room the whole time. >> He was in his room the whole time. >> He was in his room the whole time. her dad outside. >> Um I believe Ryder is 12, correct? He he is helping out. >> Okay. And is he at school already? >> Yeah, he was on the bus. >> He was on the bus. And was did he see anything happen outside? Do you know? >> No, just inside. >> Okay. So, what what do you believe that he saw on the inside? us giving each other attitude and me like tearing up the piece of paper I got from school for like tryyouts and stuff because he said I wasn't going to be able to go and so I just threw those away and then it got caught in attitude. >> Okay. So you guys were just kind of having an argument and having some attitude back and forth and you believe that's what he saw but he wouldn't have seen any of this part but he can he can say that you know he saw you arguing at least you believe he saw that. Okay. >> Yeah. And when when he dragged me outside, he he saw see that soon. >> So when so when you he saw when Mr. Olson dragged you back inside? >> Okay. >> Hey, Mr. Olson. >> I'm sorry. I mean yell at you earlier. I just, you know, got to get control of the situation going on. >> Um Miss Sophia said that you were in the home whenever I guess her and your dad were arguing this morning. I just woke up to kick over here. I'm going to go to jail. >> Did you hear anything going on this morning or any yelling or arguing? >> I tried to tune it out and sleep through it. Um, really? No. Um, other than getting a call to come get the truck. >> Okay. >> No, cuz I I sleep until about now and then I'm leaving for work. >> I know you have work pretty early, so Okay. Um, >> do you know uh another next of kin family where I know that mom is gone and I know that there's Miss Betty which I know the kids don't want to see Miss Betty but >> so the only other family is me and then family up in Illinois. >> Okay. >> Um, >> is there an aunt that lives close by? >> Not an aunt worth giving them to. >> Gotcha. Gotcha. I still have to have her information cuz she is like a nective kid. Do you have her first and last name? >> Uh I think she just got married so she has a different last name but her last last name was Simmerman. >> When you say you don't think that she's the best person for >> me this person's in Illinois. I'm talking about April. >> Okay. What What is April's name? I still have to >> Oh yeah. No. No. She's the one who destroyed the stuff in the house and is causing most of the problems. Is she the one who filed the DHS report? Okay. >> So, yeah, we're >> What's her last name? Okay. >> All right. >> Yeah, we don't even think about her to even look at this. >> And I know I think I remember the kids saying that they weren't keen on her. >> Okay. Um, you don't have to, but I'm going to ask you, do you mind filling out a statement? >> I mean, all I was here for is you telling him to get out of the car and all that. And I was asleep until I had to come up here. Okay. >> Cuz I really didn't see anything. >> Sorry you didn't sleep. Oh, yeah. >> It ain't the first. First it was mom getting taken out in handcuffs. Your dad hasn't has he served in the military at any point? >> No. >> Okay. >> And do you know if the family like if you guys are on like food stamps or assistance or anything like that like >> I know we used to. >> Okay. >> All right. Um you're more than welcome to take the vehicle. Like I said, I just wanted to make sure everything was secured first. >> What you got to do? >> Um so I apologize for yelling at you. I just got to do what you got to do. I I I don't like to yell at people, but sometimes I I do. So, feel like I ask you that all the time, but >> I know. I'm like, if I got to tell you again, we're talking too much. >> Yeah. [laughter] All right. Well, I've got your information, Mr. Olsen. Um, you're more than welcome to to take the vehicle. I'm just going to write the tag down really quick. >> Beautiful. Um, her what's happening with her? >> So, I'm going to take her to school. >> Okay. >> Um, so she'll be riding with me >> to go to school. Um he is going to go to jail. Okay. Um his charges include endangering the welfare of a minor um based on his admission and what she stated. Okay. Um so he is going for domestic battery. Third, two counts of endangering welfare of a minor. >> Two counts. >> Yes. Because they're alleging that Ryder was in the home and saw her being dragged. So it is going to be two counts. Um and then it's going to be um resisting arrest >> because of that little stunt right there. >> Yeah. >> I did give him a lawful order to exit the vehicle. >> He gave him more than just one. >> Yeah. So um and he also um is getting charged with terroristic threatening as well because he did say that there was he was going to put more bruises on her and that there was going to be >> terroristic threatening. >> That is considered terrorist. >> Anyway, you can write this down for me. >> Yeah, I can write right now. I'm like, that's too damn many. >> Um, how long until he can be bonded out? >> He'll have to go through first appearance. >> He'll have to go through an appearance. >> He'll probably end up being tomorrow morning before he actually gets seen. Usually, you have to be in >> tomorrow afternoon, tomorrow night. >> Probably about tomorrow. You'll hear something back. Usually, first appearance starts about 8 9:00 in the morning over there. Usually you have an answer by noon. >> And where is he going? >> County Potential Center. >> I have no idea where that is. >> I'll write down the address. >> This is not a day I like This is not how I like being I'd rather have a fire than this, >> right? Um I'm there too, buddy. It's not definitely not something I like to do or see first thing in the morning. Especially, you know, when I when I know you guys very well. You know, >> you've been over our house like four times this week. Let's invite you over for dinner. >> Yeah, it's not something that I like necessarily. >> You have to excuse my handwriting. >> No, you're good. As long as I can read it. >> Yeah, it's it's readable. It's definitely readable. >> Um, >> any idea what the bond may be? >> That is all after seeing the judge. Yes. which if he uh he don't have a lot of history, the judge the judge that works by signature. >> Do you know if he's ever been arrested for any type of assault or battery? >> No. >> No. Okay. >> But I'm sure >> then it he shouldn't >> like I'm I'm not going to say no if I don't know, you know. >> Yeah, I got you. >> Um but yeah, anything else I may need to know? Um, not that I know of. The only thing just in case if he doesn't No, that's okay. I think we we may have it in our, you know, stuff from, you know, >> the other day. >> Yeah, the other day. So, >> um, >> we'll go I may have it in mine. But, um, other than that, >> um, if we have any questions for you, we'll call you. >> Um, if you have any questions for us, give us a call. Um, >> um, after school, are they both just going to be coming home? So that I do not know yet. Um because obviously right now he will not be allowed to be with the kids right now until this gets sorted out. Uh most likely, you know, there will be something put in place that he won't be able to, you know, reside with them. So either they will be at the house or vice versa, >> but they won't be able to be together, right? So, um, >> we'll be good for it's going to be good for at least tonight and tomorrow till it's out. >> Okay. I've got his information. >> Okay. Even better. >> Okay. All right. Well, um, you're more than welcome to take the truck. Um, I appreciate you coming down and picking it up cuz I I don't want to have to I did not really want it to either. I didn't want to deal with that. >> All right. Well, you're free to go. Um, we appreciate you. >> Of course. Thank you. >> Thank you. Okay, Miss Sophia. Um, I'm going to take you to school. Um, what's going to happen is that, um, my detective is I'm I'm going to reach you out to VHS. Okay. Um, you won't be staying at the same place. Um, so I'm going to take your screw, which is some stuff for your knee. Make sure you get it vanished up. you know, unless you wipe your face and stuff and feel a little bit more presentable. Um, >> I I do. Um, do you want to change shirts? I can always get you a shirt. I know you have a a rip or do you want to see if they have an extra shirt from school? Okay. All right. Uh, what school do you go to? And so, um, I just have a few more things to ask you that I'm going to go through. Um, and then going to transport. He he is going to jail. Okay. Um for what you stated happened and what he stated happened this morning. Okay. Um so I'm going to have a few more questions to ask you and then he's going to leave with him. Um basically I'm going to have to leave you here for a second. What I'm going to do is go back and get my unit and then you and I are going to Okay. Can you wait here for me? Is that something you're okay doing? Okay. cuz we're just right over there. Um, you know, I hate I hate doing that, but we're only one unit. I don't want you to bother me. So, give me a second. Let me get my paper and I'll ask you a few more questions. Okay. So, um, these are just a few questions that I'm going to ask you. You just answer them to the best of your ability. Okay. Um, has he ever used a weapon in? No. any any kind of weapon um whether it be guns, knives, hammers, anything that you can use as a weapon. Has he ever used against you or threatened you with? No. Okay. Um has he ever threatened to kill you? Do you think that he would try? Okay. All right. Um, does he have a weapon that he can get to easily? >> He has a gun. He has a knife. Okay. Has he ever tried to um choke or strangle you in any way? Um, is he constantly violent or u violently jealous or anything like that? No. Um, does he control most of your activities? Um, you know, to a point where it's overkill in that sense, like telling you what what to wear, where to go, who you can talk to, stuff like that. This question, you don't have a job, correct? And then I know that he lost his job the other day, right? Um, has he ever tried to harm himself or kill himself, you know? >> Yeah, he like that for like a long time. >> Okay. But it was a long He did try it once. Yeah. Correct. Okay. Um, does he follow you, spy on you, or leave you threatening messages? Okay. Is there anything that worries you about your safety um being with Mr. Olson? >> And what happens when he's very mad? Why does that concern? people like he'll kill you and like say like I'm going to send you the pinnacle or something and like like and then like get something like multiple times. Okay. And does that happen often when he gets mad that he or just when he gets really really mad? >> He just started doing it. >> He just started doing that about how long was that would you say? >> Yesterday. yesterday. So, it's been a few days. Do you currently have a counselor that you see? Um, who's your counselor? Um, do you know what? Like does she have her private practice or does she have a business somewhere that she works with school or is it somewhere else? >> Somewhere else. Okay. Okay. This is for you. Okay. So, put that in your backpack. Put it in your pocket. Um these are resources if you need to contact anyone like a shelter or someone that's 24 hours that can offer you um assistance, you know, getting out of the house or anything like that. You can obviously always call 911 if you need assistance in that way. Okay. Um but that is for you. You can keep that. Okay. Um I'm just going to check you over one more time just to make sure you don't have any other injuries. Um, do you mind pulling up your hair for me and letting me see just right in here in the back? Make sure you don't have any. I'm just going to check you just like this. Okay. Okay. All right. Turn around for me. >> Did you just scratch your arm or did that come from >> I think I was scratching. >> You think you were scratching your arm up there? Okay. I just want to make sure. So, um, but you did document underneath her arm and her armpit also. >> Okay. And you got, so you got up under the arm and got all that. And then you got her name. I also got the dress. She's got a bunch of grass all over the side. >> Yeah, I didn't I didn't take a picture of that. >> Okay. Is your backpack ripped anyway or is it good to go and carry your stuff? >> Um, I think it's good. You mean your backpack's good? Okay. Making sure your backpack didn't rip and it's going to get you through the day. Okay. Um, so what you're going to do, you're going to go ahead and transport him. Um, I'm going to ride with you. We're going to go to the PD. I'm going to pick up my unit and then I'm going to come back here and pick up her. Okay. Um, so right now we're going to let him know what he >> send. Yeah, actually I'll just write them down because my phone doesn't get out very good. >> ADR. >> Yeah, >> I knew what I meant. >> Just go ahead and start one and if you have any questions, call me. >> Yeah. Um, so he's going to wipe your knee down really quick. I'm >> not going to lie to you. It's not going to feel like a big old bag of road cuz it's probably going to stay a little bit. Got to get it cleaned up so I don't get infected. I like how is your car unlocked? Okay, Mr. Olsson, you are going to jail today. Okay. You are going on the following charges. Domestic battery third. Okay.
