On December 19th, 2025, officers were dispatched to a Circle K in reference to a theft. The store manager reported that a 21-year-old worker had been stealing scratch-off lottery tickets during her shifts, not once, not twice, but repeatedly over the course of 2 weeks. She helped herself to over $380 worth of tickets without paying a dime. Do you mind sitting up for me? For me? Yes, please. Put your hands behind your back. >> [snorts] >> I'll explain in a little bit what happened. Should I get my mom in the parking lot? No, no, no, no. We'll talk in a little bit. I don't know what I did. Can someone get my mom? Yeah, we'll we'll we'll explain. Do you have a seat for me? I do have autism, so Okay, well, we'll we'll get there. >> a disability, too. Okay, do you want to EMS check you out? Um, no, I just came with mom. All right, Faith. So, the reason why I'm here is because I was able to see videos of you taking lottery tickets. I was Yes, I was paying for them, and I was using my card. So, okay. Keep talking. I was using my card and everything. If there's a problem, I can come up with the money again to pay for them again. I don't mind double paying, but my card was going through every time. So, I need you to be honest with me, Faith. As I said, I'm I'm going to be I try to be as nice as possible. Faith, showed me So, can you Okay. >> There is a few that I have stolen, and I do regret that, and I was coming up with the money after my other job to pay for them. And I was coming to bring her the money. And you think it's the right thing to do, like No, and I do apologize. I do have autism, so sometimes and ADHD, so sometimes I don't think. Sometimes I do it. I was off my meds for a couple days. So, sometimes I do not remember what I do, or sometimes I do, like forget what I'm doing, and I'm like thinking, oh, wait, why am I doing this? And stuff, and I do have autism, so I do struggle with that. Okay, okay, it's completely understandable. Now, my question is, um, so you said you were paying for the tickets. The thing is, when you try to pay for the tickets, you were aware because they showed me proof that the actual your transactions were done at >> I do apologize. I've made mistakes before and I do apologize. And my mom will tell you that sometimes I don't think, I just do. Mhm. Sometimes with ladies being autistic, I don't think, I just do. I do and I and I do apologize. I I will pay for them. If that's what you want me to do, like I will make some up >> I mean, it's as I said, it's not up to them. Yeah, and I will come in and I will pay for them and I will take every single process. My mom right now, I Okay, so we'll we'll talk to your mom real quick. >> every single process to pay for them if I have to. Like I'm working at my Dixie and I'm supposed to be there today. Today's my fourth day. And um, I will come up with the money. She can take it my paycheck. She can take my whole paycheck for >> the thing is they're already willing to prosecute. They've already got them on camera. So it's nothing like And I do apologize. I I have autism. So As I said, unfortunately, I know you maybe the judge will think about that, but I can't make that decision. >> jail? Or um I have autism. I completely understand. Uh, I'll I'll note that also in my report. But the thing is they Another thing I want to discuss is one of the tickets you bought for $50. Well, not that you bought, you stole. Yes. Um, one of them was a winning ticket for $100. I will do that. >> Which you exchanged and you took the money from the with the ca- uh, you took the money from the cashier. >> call my mom to just meet me here now? Hear me out. Hear me out first. We have to talk. We can't just >> Hold it. All right. So, um Like this? Let me see. Excuse me, ma'am. Do you mind scratching her? She's like her head is itching somewhere. It's this side of my head. Yeah. Oh, the other side. Right there. Yeah. All right. I appreciate it. So, a Another thing is So you took the Well, you stole the the $50 ticket, one of them particular. One of them was a winning ticket for $100, right? So, you exchanged it and you took the money from the register. And with that total, instead of taking the 100, took 140. 140? Well, that's what I was told. I'm not sure. I'm asking. That's why I'm asking. >> a 100 cuz it was 100 and it was 100 so I took a $100 bill out. >> Okay. No, I did No, what happened was my mom came in and so I used a 100 and I had put it back in the drawer to pay for her stuff she had. And then I had took out the change. And that's probably what she saw is me taking out the change. >> Okay, so we have to review all the video, make sure we got everything. But I'll be honest with you, Faith. Right now, so the thing is normally only by the amount you took from the register and you stole from the lottery tickets it will be considered petty theft, okay? It's a misdemeanor. But As I said, I I don't know My hands are I mean, I do I do apologize. I I'm sorry. I do apologize. With my autism, I don't think what I'm doing. I actually do and that's something I've always dealt with. And I've had the cops called on me before because I didn't think when I ran off with a couple guys that were bad. And so I didn't I didn't think about it with my autism and I do apologize. Like I'm willing to pay. I'm willing to come up with the money. My next paycheck should be about 100 and 200 and I'm willing to come in and pay every single day I get paid. I'm willing to pay everything even if she wants to take it out of my paycheck. I'm willing to pay for it. So, as I said, it's not my It's not my call. It's As I said, unfortunately because what we have in the intensive prosecutor's office, to them what they want to do. The last time I spoke Okay, so that doesn't work. So, here's the thing. Well, every criminal on the planet can say that. Here's the problem. You stole stuff and then you turned it in and it was wrong. You know it was wrong. There's no question whether you're autistic or not. You know whether it's wrong or right and you did wrong. >> And I was off my meds for a couple days. >> It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. That's not an excuse. And I'm willing to pay for anything. >> matter. You don't You don't get to do crimes and then take care of it when you get caught. That doesn't work. Well, my mom's in the parking lot. Can someone get her, please? We'll talk to her as soon as I Yeah, but as I said, um so right now you have the uh petty theft for that and also because >> about my mom? Is she going to have to contact my other job? Cuz my other job, it's my fourth day there. Probably, she's going to have to get in contact. We're not going to cross any Yes, I'm supposed to work 1 to 8. >> Well, then she's going to have to You're going to have to contact her because you're going to get out soon, but it's not going to be by 1 by any stretch. Okay. And can we go out there? When we talk to her, can she take my stuff? Yep. Yep. 100%. Can I talk to her before I leave? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. As I said, we're not here to harm you. It's because you did what you did. That's what we're here for. Well, it's not us. Yes, sir. I promise I'll do better. Unfortunately, when you get to that decision, you get consequences for them. And the autism thing doesn't work. Okay? It's not going to ever work. Okay, but that don't That don't mean anything. So, if I go in there, I'll be out in an hour or not till later? Well, she's going to have to bond you out of the second of you calling me. You'll probably have to see the judge, which means you'll see him in the morning. Okay. And then I have a I can't be in the cell with guys. No, you're not going to be with guys. Nobody's going to be in with you but females. Yes. I don't do well with females either. Well, we don't have a We don't have uh you're going to stay in cell for overnight. Will they Will they try to beat me up? No. Just stick to yourself and don't bother anybody. Well, I'm staying the night? Yes. You have to stay the night to see the judge in the morning. And then how much do you do you think the bail would be? I have to check the the bond schedule. So, as I said, you have a misdemeanor and a felony. That's a felony, so there'll be no bond. No bond, right? Yeah, until she sees the judge. Yeah, so there's no exact So, what time would I see the judge in the morning? Anywhere from 8:00 to 11:00. Okay, and then where are my meds? I'll put them on. Let's go. Yeah. Um so, all this is yours? Yes. All right. And then can we move them to the front? I'm sorry? Can we move them to the front to the front cuz they're going to hurt my hands in the back. My paws are not supposed to. I'm sorry. Yeah, but my hands are hurting really bad back there. Like it hurts even leaning back. I'll help you. Have a Let me just uh secure you. Where are you Your mom is on the way over here, right? I see her walking over here. But I want to Let me uh let me load this one up for you. Give me 1 second. She told officers she wasn't aware of what she was doing due to her autism. She also said she was facing serious financial difficulties. But the damage was already done. Between the stolen scratch-offs, the winning ticket she cashed, the $147 she took from the register, and the price manipulation scheme from earlier in the month, the total loss came out to $584.68. The felony charge was later dropped by the prosecutor, and the remaining misdemeanor case is still pending after the court determined she was not competent to stand trial.
