During my 29 years as a cop down here in Florida, most fake cop cases start with some kind of complaint. This one starts with him lighting up an unmarked car. >> Uh are you a police officer in the state of Indiana? >> I already answered that question. I am not saying anything. I already told you. >> Okay. So, you're not going to answer the question. Stop playing games. >> There's no games here. I already answered that question five or six times. >> Well, the reason I asked you before is because I wanted to make sure if you are a police officer. >> I already told you my answer. Stop. >> So, you're not a police officer. >> I already answered that. >> You understand why I stopped to talk to you, correct? >> Yeah, cuz you flew past me going 80 miles an hour in a posted 55. >> Okay. For no reason. How how do I know you're not on your way to a call cuz your lights are on? Okay. >> This could be one of the dumbest kids on the planet. First of all, your lights don't have to be on. He's in the performance of his duties. Uh he's wearing jeans and a zip-up shirt. He could easily be in the middle of a surveillance. He could be responding to an emergency call. He doesn't necessarily need to put his emergency lights on unless he's trying to clear traffic. There's a difference between an unmarked car and an undercover car. And if he's in an undercover car, there's not going to be any markings whatsoever. There's There may not even be any emergency lights. >> You're not even in a police car. I'm not a police car. >> And then you put your badge on to talk to me. >> Correct. >> And your gun. >> I didn't put my gun on. I have my gun with me cuz I'm I'm a police officer. >> I want to see your badge on. >> When I went by you in the car, you mean? >> Yep. You put it on to come talk to me. >> Correct. >> Yeah, cuz I wanted to make sure that you knew that you were >> I just come up and start talking to you. What was going on? Okay. >> All right, go run me. Let's get this over with. >> [laughter] >> Go run me. Let's get this over with. I can't put handcuffs on this guy fast enough. I can't tell you how dangerous this guy is. He thinks he has all of the laws. He thinks he has all of the authority and he thinks he has all the power of a police officer. So, what's he do? It's just creepy. >> Do you understand what's happening here and why I'm here to talk to you? >> No. >> You don't understand? >> No. >> Okay. You have responsibilities enforcing traffic law on the >> I'm a flagger. >> Okay. Do you have responsibilities to enforce speeding law on the interstate? >> Whenever we're in a construction zone, I do whatever they tell me to do. >> Okay. Has anybody tasked you with the responsibility to flash your lights at motorists on the road and tell them to slow down while you're driving? >> It's what we do. >> Okay. What you're doing right now is stationary on the side of the road trying to ensure the safety of people in a construction zone, right? >> Yep. >> Okay. Do you understand the difference between motoring public on 465, which is a busy interstate in Indianapolis? >> I don't know what you're trying to make a point here. >> Okay. My point is, let's step back and look, okay? Would you agree that some people might think this looks like a police car? Or some kind of emergency vehicle? >> It's a traffic control car. It's like this car. >> Okay. >> It's like this car. >> This is why I asked you why >> We all use this car for traffic control. >> why you are essentially trying to enforce traffic law on the interstate. >> I Who said I was trying to do that? >> Did you not activate your lights when you said to slow me >> He said that. He's the one that said that. He said because you blew by me doing 80 miles an hour in a in a construction zone. First of all, he's not certified to be able to tell what the speed was. He has no means to be able to tell that. Obviously, he doesn't have a radar in there. So, he's guessing at best. But, he has no standing or authority to be able to tell anybody anything. And the fact that he's trying to pull people over, if this were not a police officer, you could make the argument that this is some kind of false imprisonment. >> I did not. >> You didn't activate your lights? >> Nope. And there's a witness, wherever he went. >> You didn't activate these lights right in the front of your car? >> Nope. My strobe lights, I did not. >> Okay. What happened? >> He said, "My strobe lights, I did not." That's a body language tell all day long. >> lights did you activate? >> I didn't activate any lights. >> Okay. So, there's two >> Do proofs that I did. >> Two different stories you've given me. You said before it wasn't your strobes, it was high beams. >> you said strobes. You told the Lawrence officer I had >> Okay. Okay. These lights that are right in the front that are strobing. >> So, the lights >> Now, you now you have two different stories, okay? So, now you said >> the action you played? >> What this guy is doing here is emulating who he's seen on either On Patrol Live or on Cops or or on a body cam channel, and he thinks that he's that smooth, and he thinks that he has that persona, and that he could talk to people that way. He's a nobody. He's got nothing. He's a flagman. You either stop or you're go, and that's it. >> You said headlights and then strobes. >> So, which one? >> Which one did you say? I'm asking you what you activated, and you >> The rocking back and forth is just pure nervous energy. It has nowhere to go. He's just trying to burn it off, and he's just rocking back and forth. >> You didn't activate anything. >> Which is not accurate. >> Okay. I'll talk to somebody else. Have you ever been arrested? >> I'll I'll I'll talk to somebody else. I'm not talking to you. >> Do you have your laptop? >> Yeah, well, you know what I want in there. >> Yeah, I got one. >> You got your laptop? >> I'm the mark behind him. >> I I I have plenty of guys I work with. Cops, high visibility guys. >> Hey, are you on off for place for the wreck? >> Oh, no. >> You in Travis? >> All of it. >> It's not like I'm It's not like I'm not doing anything It's all old thing. I know what he's trying to gain out of this. >> Yeah, do you have your ID on you? >> Come on. >> All right. You need it? >> Well, he's saying you're a little misty on the whole thing, so it's >> What I did? >> Wait. This dude, he he drives by in his Jeep. We're going what? 60? And it's a 55 on on Chisholm. >> Okay, so he's saying that he was going 60 in a 55. Even if this is a speedometer like pacing stop, what we would call pacing, 5 mph is not going to hold up in court. >> Mr. Becker, do you have your driver's license? Are you on probation? >> Yes. >> You have probation >> You already know the answer to that. >> Hancock County? >> You already know the answer >> What are you on probation for? >> You already know the answer to that question. You You looked it up, so you already know. >> Okay. What do you think he's on probation for? >> No, actually I've never seen what he's on probation for, but he's on probation for uh improper use of emergency lights. >> It's not improper use. You need to reread that. >> I'm not here to write you a ticket. >> Okay, I know that. >> think the odds are that of all people >> it. You said I'm improper use? >> What did it say? >> Now you're Now you're implying to him that I used red and blue lights. >> I didn't imply anything. >> You just told him that. >> So now everybody thinks Everyone thinks they're >> Did you flash Did you flash your Did you flash your lights when you were behind him? >> No, I didn't. >> of emergency lights on a vehicle. >> He flew past >> Well, you're not the police. So guess what? If somebody flies past you, call the police. >> There you go. [laughter] Good job, officer. >> Of all the people that I stopped to talk to for flashing their lights on the interstate >> them. He didn't flash them, but >> Whatever you want to call it. >> He flew by me at 88 miles an hour, which would make >> unlawful display of emergency lights >> would believe that he Think something about it. >> Yes, you probably know a lot about the statute. But you probably, if you're on probation for that, shouldn't be on the interstate trying to slow traffic down. And this is your lucky day that the car that you tried to do that to happens to be an unmarked police officer who happens to be working. Okay? So don't give me a hard time when you're on probation for something related. >> Okay? >> I'm not touching it, man. Stop touching my [ __ ] car. >> You're lucky I don't tow it, which is within my purview. >> Okay. >> Okay? I'm going to tell you what I'm going to do. Got your ID? Do you have this gentleman's information? I'm going to make a police report. >> Okay. >> How that How that handles anything for your business based on what your current status is, I do not know. What is your probation officer's name? >> I have to look at it. >> You don't know who your probation officer is? >> I think he's wrote to the I have to check in with him maybe once a month. So, I don't even >> No problem. My suggestion to you is this is probably a bad idea. Your intentions may have been good, but bad things happen when people start down that road. And I'm not talking about you having to flash them at a police officer. I'm talking about if you get into this stuff. >> I'm specifically looking for something that you have no idea what I'm doing. That's what we do for a living. >> It was just your bad luck that that happened to be what I do for a living. Okay? >> What? Drive 80 mph in a 55? And then weaving in and out of traffic? >> I'm not going to take advice >> I'm just I'm just asking you cuz >> I'm not here to diminish what you do. I appreciate that. >> an unmarked Ford or something like that, all right, cool. But >> [laughter] >> So, yeah, if you're in an unmarked Ford, yeah, fine. I'll let that go >> [laughter] >> because I'm, you know, a flagman for a construction crew. But no, not how you do it. >> you're in COVID investigations. >> Not COVID, covert. >> Yeah. >> What we do, I'll tell you what I do for a living. >> COVID investigations. Covert. >> Yeah, I heard covert. So, I was So, I was right. >> No, I don't I don't go after COVID violators, okay? >> with the wrong guy. >> He's tried to cut him so many breaks. I was mad when I heard about this. >> I wasn't even here. >> We go after people. We do gun crime investigations. I need people to not know that I'm the police. That's what we do for a living. No, no, I don't normally waste any of my time, but you piqued my curiosity flashing your lights at me. I understand now you say you didn't flash any lights or whatever, and it must have just been my random luck that I came up here to talk to you and you happen to be on probation. I have no idea who you are. I have nothing against you. I'm just telling you it's a bad idea to be on the interstate flashing your lights at people. >> I've seen this car five times. >> Are they together? >> I think so. >> It's the skinny one with glasses driving that >> Somebody might He does have red and >> Yeah. >> I've seen the other I've seen this one with lights on, but I've seen him at the crew car wash and I could have swore I saw him >> Oh, it's pretty eddy burns got a red and blue >> It's like it's clear what they're doing. Like you're wearing that and got a thin blue line plate cover, you're wearing a thin blue line hat. Like >> Come on, man. We all know, whether you want to admit it or not, what you're trying to do. There's a place for that. >> to do? >> Apparently, based on what you're saying, you're trying to get me to slow down, okay? It's not your job, unfortunately, today. >> And if you were a police officer, you shouldn't be driving like that anyway. >> It's not your call. You don't know what I'm doing. >> not my call, but you as a police officer you should be driving with due regard. >> You have no clue what he's doing. You You have no right to talk like that. Like you should be driving with due regard. You have no idea if he's following a murder suspect right now who's on the way to commit another murder. You have no clue. You're just some 23-year-old punk with a hat and a gun belt that you bought off of Amazon. And that's it. That's where it ends. This guy This sergeant is being so Midwest nice. He's cut every break to this guy. This guy is trying to talk himself into handcuffs. >> It's not due regard. And I'm sure he can tell That was not due regard. >> If I saw this car coming up behind me and I couldn't see the plate, I couldn't see the lights, I would 100% think it was a cop, like a an out-of-county cop. >> Weaving in and out of traffic. Oh, no, no. Hold on. You have your peace off >> I will not be lectured. >> Okay. This is not your place. >> Yeah, cuz you should know better. >> You don't know what I was doing. >> I I'm not even a police, dude. >> So what was I doing? >> asked me 20 times. >> Explain to me what I was doing. >> Weaving in and out of traffic, no signal, and speeding. >> What was I doing? >> due regard. >> What was I looking for? >> I don't care what you're looking for. How >> And so that is not your place. >> with no due regard. >> That is not accurate. How do you know? Was I following a murder suspect? >> So So maybe >> Was I following a murder suspect? >> That That's your business. >> Was I following a murder suspect? >> Obviously not. You were >> Was I following How do you know? >> Cuz you followed me here. >> How do you know I followed that murder suspect? You'd be following him right now. You wouldn't be talking to me, right? >> You make my point for me, okay? Your actions, okay? Look it up. In the state of Indiana, when you take action and cause someone to take another action, okay? When you take action like on the interstate, flipping your lights on like this, you cause a chain reaction. You don't know what I was doing. Okay? You didn't know I was a police officer. You just thought I was somebody driving on the interstate, coming off the interstate onto Shadeland, right? What I'm saying is it's not your place to enforce these traffic laws. I understand your heart, your intention might have been in the right place, I don't know. I have no idea what your deal is with anti-county. What I'm saying is that's a bad idea. Turns out you're trying to lecture me on something that you don't know what our job is or what I was doing, okay? I understand you didn't know I was a police officer. There are a lot of police >> I'm just asking you to drive with due regard. All right. That's all I want. >> That's all [laughter] I want. Nobody cares what you want. >> It's not your place. >> It's not your place. You're a citizen. I'm sorry. You can drive down the street and wanted all day. >> I'm just I'm just I'm not I'm not asking you to give me a lecture. I'm here just explaining to you. Actually, I was out here working. I understand now you think whatever. I'm wasting my time here. >> Okay, but you get where I'm coming from, right? I just see some >> You understand I don't like >> [laughter] >> Oh my god. This guy would be underneath my patrol car at this point. >> down the road going 50. >> It doesn't matter. It's not your job. >> here to give you a ticket, okay? >> I understand that. >> I suppose I could. I haven't been to traffic court in a long time. I know where it's at. I know how to give a ticket. I know they're expensive now. And I'm not trying to tax you like that, okay? You have to understand you're trying to in this conversation justify what you're saying you're not doing. >> Anyway, >> I'm going to take a couple pictures of your vehicle. I've already got your information. You're free to go. Do you have any questions for me? >> I just need a copy of your business card. >> I don't have a business card with me. I've already told you my name. I'm making a report. >> But you have a copy of the report. >> I do not provide copies of the report. >> Can you give me your phone number? Can you just pull a number and then write it down for me? >> If you like this one, hit subscribe, but I've also got the ComCenter as my other channel. It's true crime cases from the 911 call to the verdict. Take a look. It's linked in the description. >> Can you run it 30 12 as an organizational plate? >> No, it took me a while to get it, but it's uh it is a like an LF plate. >> plate? >> No, it's a it's a law enforcement plate. Um >> Just humor me and run it 30 12 on an OR. >> Yeah, it has to be uh It's uh 30 12 >> say how he has a What was it? What was it? Like Warren like Michigan City or whatever it was? >> Uh yeah, so uh Warren County Williamsport is way out west. Damn near to Illinois. >> he has that plate? >> Uh I don't know, but this comes back on a brown 2000. That thing is not 2000. It's your It's your stop. >> Yeah, like whatever. >> If it's over if it's over 30 days, I'm going to tow it. >> I'm probably just making a report and going on with my day cuz I don't want to This is not how I Like it's going to be my >> Something with the date that you bought the car to show me that it's not older than 30 days. >> Uh I got a temp tag. Perfect. >> Do you see what it says? Please display this portion in the rear vehicle window. Does it say anywhere on there to put a plate off of another car and just drive around with it? >> Okay, in the state of Florida when you attach a tag that is not assigned to that vehicle, it is a criminal offense. You could take somebody to jail for that. Hopefully that's the case here in Indiana, too. >> It doesn't >> What you can do is to say you obviously if you know >> My bad. My bad. It's a handcuffing situation. >> Okay, I I'm at your >> You do security. Do you understand that doing security means you cannot put someone in the handcuffs. That's what the police That's what the real police do is put people in handcuffs. >> Yeah, I understand that. >> There's no firearm in here, but there's a magazine in both. >> Yeah, well, I got I got obviously clean this out cuz I just transferred everything to my other the but there's no gun. I have I have a Glock. It's a 19 >> Where is it at? >> Cuz I can't carry it, right? Cuz I'm on probation. >> Oh, he's got that gun in there, I guarantee it. >> You know your business better than us. >> Okay, well, I >> I haven't looked at I don't know >> Pretty sure I have >> what the conditions >> I can't have a firearm. I don't have a firearm. >> I'm just saying that I I don't know the conditions of your probation. There's probably people who have conditions of probation that They like, if I'm working, I can't. Maybe across the board. I mean, you're it's only a misdemeanor that you're on probation for, so >> Yes, I >> I don't know that I've ever encountered somebody on probation for a misdemeanor, so >> [laughter] >> Felony probation here in Florida, you can't even have it it's got to be outlined in the conditions that the judge sets. You can't have any bullets, any rounds. So, every magazine and every round you find is a separate charge. That's kind of how that works here. I don't know how it works in Indiana. >> And I don't do probation, so >> I >> I'm just going to say you probably know your business and your responsibilities better than Sure it's there, but I'm not going to go down [laughter] that route. Have a nice day. >> Becker was charged with impersonation of a public servant. It's a level six felony, plus an infraction of for that false play he had He was released on a $250 bond, in case you were wondering. But just over a year later, he was arrested again for felony impersonation, this time unlawfully carrying a handgun. Look, if you like this video, watch the next one.
