on December 16th 2018 an off-duty police officer witnessed a man shove about five bottles of shampoo down his pants then make his way to the exit of a Walgreens the off-duty officer tackled the man to the ground where he immediately gave up and waited for the police to arrest him got on the Flor bro is that it under tank I I haven't checked his front pockets so what's going on man doing me like whatnot so um as he came out this way I you know as he came out he passed the point of sails that's when I grabbed him and he kind of gave a little resistance and I just took him to the floor and that was it you know I mean Little Resistance but a little little strong arming but yeah nothing crazy okay so not enough to get a resistant charger n i mean uh unless unless you well for one of the thing is you got to identif I mean I didn't identify as a police officer it was I want get down real fast um they're going to need a a print out of uh the total amount that he was trying to take okay do you guys want to prosecute um as far as charging him go to jail um I need see what my boss real quick cuz I think I don't know what the limit is with uh Walgreens but it was like 54 bucks worth of stuff just grabbed him and put him on the floor you ID you s uh not at the time it happened too fast but you know when I got him on the floor you know I told the manager hey you know call the police call duty officer right so he heard it but at the time yeah he was already on the floor right right yeah it's a good idea to ID yourself and then do that get for fi your references yeah uh so I guess um been getting people counselors uh uh Advocates I've been getting uh uh uh case workers you got a lot of help a lot of help and you know what I know that that's God sir Jesus I don't know if you believe in Jesus but you talking about repentance so I guess you do believe in Jesus God is putting people sir literally in my path like that he just put that officer right there for me to have this this acquaintance with you right because God wants me to change sir you know he wants me to change he you can pass on the opportunity I don't want to be that do I don't want to be that CRA you keep later all charges were dismissed and this man got to go free despite his protests he was not in fact a changed man since this case he has been arrested five more times for theft with most of the cases being dismissed just recently in February 2024 he was arrested for robbery bodily injury and as of March 17th 2024 remains in Harris County Jail Waiting for God to put someone in his path that can save him on your back you're good last time you were arrested where were you arrested at County or HPD was that what happened uh struggle with a police officer off duty police officer he had a carpet
